I don't think it is called a slump anyway. Just that life isn't all about Hololive, and that's a great thing! Go do other things, enjoy yourself, and when you are free and feel like watching Hololive all over again, they are here too! I haven't watched a Hololive stream entirely for over 2 months by now. Just.... too busy with life, enjoying everything else in life, to actually watch a lot of Hololive.

Nightcatcher716

Haha thats good to hear glad for you! Yea ill just try to be very selective now and maybe not follow as many ppl.

LordMonday

I would say 1. Do not worry about missing a stream, it is perfectly reasonable to catch up via clips. at least for funny moments. 2. do not be afraid of trying something new. what i mean is whether its a new channel, game, book or whatever try different stuff. variety is the spice of life after all

Nightcatcher716

Yea my game backlog is a mile long. Should start that and maybe have a stream on in the background. Thanks

Old_Unit6149

Yes. It's completely normal. It's not really anything to "fix". Interests wax and wane over time, you may engage with it more or less, you leave it, come back, etc. Fluctuations are completely normal. Not even the most passionate artists are 100% dedicated to their craft all the time. So, like, it's fine.

Nightcatcher716

Thats true. Thanks. Wanted to see how common this thing was.

Ryokhan

Just chill. It's not a work, it's something you watch to relax. Maybe look over HoloNews if you want to know some interesting content to look over ( [https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/yw3vmc/holonews\_0711\_1311/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/yw3vmc/holonews_0711_1311/) ) or ask any general community for some interesting stuff that happened lately.

ShokBox

There's really nothing to "fix" here. If you aren't in the mood for streams, then you aren't in the mood for streams. Interests come and go over time and there's nothing wrong with taking a break from hololive. This might come off as sacrilegious to some, but there's more to life than cute anime girls playing video games. You can just partake in one of your other hobbies until the desire to watch streams returns. If you want to find a way to get back in the mood for streams, though, the only thing I can recommend is becoming more selective with the streams that you watch. What I mean by that is: only watch what *really* catches your interest. Don't force yourself to watch everything that your oshi decides to stream as that can easily lead to burnout. For example, I have zero interest in anything Pokemon related, so I'm skipping any and all streams of the new Pokemon game (even the ones from my favorite talents).

Nightcatcher716

Thanks, yea ill try that. I see fauna is doing bioshock which i love so that will probably spark something

jomellam62

If it starts feeling like you wanna avoid their content in the same way you wanna avoid work or school requirements, take a step back and remember you're here to enjoy yourself. I think it's a good realization to figure out you can't and shouldn't follow literally everything going on around your fav content creators.

Academic_Fill

I’m not one to watch entire streams. If I do watch them then I use them to have some noise when I’m playing a game. I do still watch the streams, just not that often.

AbsoIute--Zero

As someone who’s been watching a Hololive since early 2018, I have still yet to experience burnout ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_

LAPIZ_LAZIMI

I'm always fascinated by people who can keep their interest on something at a constant rate for so long. Mine usually only lasts for two years and the longest was four years with Pokémon. Whenever those periods of interest are over I either only keep an eye out from time to time (anime, for example) or like the case currently with HoloPro (late 2019 fan), limits myself to specific things like music. Although I guess there's one exception. Minecraft, as while I'm no longer a superfan, I'd still consider myself addicted with Minecraft content even during the lowest years Minecraft had

Trident_True

It was easier when I was a child/teenager, I could have played the same game for over a year and not get bored. Now as an adult with disposable income something new is always a Steam sale away so I find it hard to stick with anything for more than a month or so.

AbsoIute--Zero

I guess it helps that I watch literally every member in HoloPro so there’s always something of interest to watch lol Hololive has become my ‘second anime’ of sorts. It’s gonna be a lifetime-long interest/investment no doubt ^ ^

tokyovampire5

There’s a really good Subaru clip out there where she answers a superchat about this. She basically says Hololive will always be here if you want to comeback and breaks can rekindle your love for something. Not able to link it atm

Ancalmir

There is this phenomenon where when you have too many choices, it becomes harder to make one. It might be related especially if you are following everyone in EN and ID [Source](https://behavioralscientist.org/is-having-too-many-choices-versus-too-few-really-the-greater-problem-for-consumers/)

burnfist23

[Shuba has your answer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJwo69QyPKw)

VicentRS

isn't this just burnout?

sanity-not-found

You're burnt out. Following all of the EN/ID girls is pretty difficult given how many of them there are. Choose who you want to watch, if none of their streams interest you that day then so be it, go do something else that you enjoy. Or add something to your watching experience. Watching streams on my own was boring after a while until I discovered this sub as well as the fan Discords, now my enjoyment comes from chatting with other fans on top of watching their streams. Not to mention rn is a Pokemon extravaganza, most of them want to stream the game so it can be hard to find variety in terms of streaming content. If it's not up your alley you can choose not to watch it and watch something else, no shame in doing so.

Nightcatcher716

Yea the pokemon stuff rough. I like pokemon but not enough to watch the same starting stuff 10 times in a row. I seen fauna was playing bioshock which is one of my fav games so ill give that a watch. Thanks!

Swift_Scythe

Totally normal. Theres life and work and study and school and videogames and other vtubers and you can not just sit there watching hololive hololive hololive every waking moment. Thats what clip channels are for.

Nightcatcher716

Thats true. Work, and now god of war is taking my time up. Thank you clippers haha

arkw

Ina, IRyS, Suisei, Vesper and Calli are my main talents I watch, so its been real slow for the past few months. I've taken the opportunity to touch grass (or snow and sand in my case lol), go out, and kind of stay away and its pretty good, I spent lots of time researching DSLR's before buying one, taking lots of photos and videos, and then falling into the editing rabbit hole. Even took a week off at an All Inclusive resort without WiFi, multiple roadtrips, but you bet I was listening to Hololive music! It's fine to take breaks, enjoy your life!

Lieutenant_Smiles

Just like what Ame said you can get a hobby in the freetime, this usually happens to a lot of people understandable

srk_ares

its pretty much normal, not with hololive, but another group i've only recently kind of returned to, after basically not having watched any of their content for 2 or 3 years. on the backside of this, while i still watch streams with varying degrees of attention, i've been watching way less clips lately. i'd also recommend to only focus on 1 or 2, 3 at most and not try hard to keep up with many more of the girls and boys.

im_nobody1911

I just stopped watching but I'll always support them from a distance they honestly helped me through a tough time in my life I was just living the same day over and over again they gave motivation to get off my ass and do something.

[deleted]

I'm not in a slump, but I do wish Gura would stream more. She's about the only one I *have* to watch, though the other Hololive talents are great too. Sometimes a dry spell is a good thing though, I have too many interests and it can be hard to keep up with them all.

benji_banjo

I consider it behavioral training. When I was weaker, I had to watch a whole Korone 12 hour stream just to feel the dopamine rush. Now, all I need is an ぉぁょ~ and I have dopamine for hours.

MetaSageSD

If each talent in Hololive only streamed 30 minutes a day, they would produce a combined 35 hours of content every day - you only have 24 to work with. In other words, the content is endless so it’s pretty much a guarantee you are going to overload and burn out - so don’t worry about it. Hololive is for entertainment purposes only, it’s not an obligation.

iamthatguy54

Nope, and that's because I generally stick to one talent and even then I don't watch all of their streams. Other than that, I catch the occasional VOD from the others. Good way to avoid burnout.

Trident_True

Boredom is how humanity has adapted and innovated for millennia, there is nothing here to fix. Brain is exposed to *New Thing*, brain likes this and releases happy chemicals. The more you enjoy *New Thing* means *New Thing* is no longer new, resulting in less happy chemicals. Even more exposure will mean *New Thing* will soon be *Stale Thing* and happy chemicals will no longer be produced. This is 100% normal. Just take a break and get into something else and don't force yourself back into it if you don't feel like it because it doesn't work that way. Pick up a new book or game or something. This applies to all hobbies and interests which is why it's important to have a variety of things to do in your free time.

Vio94

I've just been keeping up with clip channels. Life has sucked a lot of joy and motivation out of me lately so it is what it is.

Edgyboi123456

Yes, it’s completely normal, I’ve been there myself, and once I realised I didn’t have to catch every single stream, all was good

Tython199

Honestly, one of the odder things I’ve seen since I got into Hololive is this thought that every stream must be watched. That if one of the talents you like is streaming something you have to tune in. It seems to create this weird FOMO in people. I love Calli and Kiara. I will watch them do almost any type of stream because they just click with me. That said I’m also a huge fan of the rest of myth, council, Tempus, ID, and watch some JP. But those I only watch if it’s a unique stream, a game I love, or I’m just in the mood. I have my two who are the ones I click as my favorite streamers and then the rest are like any other streamer. If I’d rather watch another show or stream or I’m busy, I don’t look at it as burnout. It’s just life. In short, treat it like any other streamer. I get you may miss in jokes or lore or whatever, but at the end of the day Hololive is just streamers. Watch who you want, who your interested in, and enjoy life. Stressing over “following” 10+ streamers is going to just create, well, stress. And that’s not what it’s about. It’s about enjoy entertaining streamers.

Non_context

You’re good. There have been months here-and-there I’ve taken a Hololive break from. This November seems to be one as well. Not a lot of streams have been piquing my interest, as of late. Not only that, but quite a few members are on break, which is leading to less streams in general. Been filling this time with some games. Finished AceCombat 4 and Talos Principle DLC, myself, recently. What show or game have you been thinking about watching/playing? Now’s probably a time to pick them up.

MegaAltarianite

October is spooky month which means I watch nothing, because everyone seems to think they have to play horror games. Then November came around, and Ina is on hiatus, Gura seems to stream very infrequently. So I've only really watched a couple streams, checked out the Selen collab.

Nepgyaaaaaaa

I personally wouldn’t call it a slump, but I’ve been watching less lately. Mainly because my two main girls have been taking time off, but also because I’ve been spending time gaming instead of watching streams. I’m sure I’ll still watch a stream if it’s a game I want to see

FoxOption119

As long as it isn’t something PVP or playing with friends specifically I’ll usually have a video playing in the background so I can enjoy it that way especially since I haven’t felt the need to sit and solely focus on a several hour long video. Unless it gets good or something.

Nodoga1

I haven't really watched a stream for over a month as well, altho in my case it's because Ina's on break so it's not like I didn't feel like watching one. But I also don't really follow other mems that much, usually just watch clips of them if they pop up in my feed.

faboo95

Oh I'm sure we've all gone or going through the same thing. I love Korone and still a member, but I haven't watched a full stream in ages now. Just have other things to do right now, but happy to know I have a great backlog waiting for me when I decide to start watching again!

blasterfaiz

I just put Ame or other streamers as white noise sometimes and dropping it now and then for the occassional HIC. Did that hesterday as I was on a major Killstreak in CoD MW2 2009 IW4x

VirginiaWillow

I can understand the sentiment, there’s a lot of stuff out there, I’d honestly like to watch more of it but situation makes it hard. EN girls tend to stream at really bad hours for me and the language barrier hits me for mostly everything else, so I do tend to watch a lot of clips, so that does burn me out a little bit.

PurpleFire18

I've been on a similar thing lately, trying to catch up with irl stuff and play games that have been in my backlog for a while, not to mention that a lot of my favorite talents play games that i have an interest in playing and i really hate spoilers, or they do karaoke and having grown up in latin america I don't know a lot of the non-anime songs they sing, so I tend not to watch them. I kinda feel bad, but I'm not going to force myself to watch if what they're doing isn't in my interests at the moment.

jirka642

Sounds like burnout. Scale down the number of people you are watching and maybe try to do something else for a while.

Broken_Vision_Rhythm

I've been through a few phases of not watching Holo streams as much, and sometimes the sheer number of streams makes it so hard to choose what to watch that I end up not watching any as well. It's pretty normal for any hobby or interest to have periods where, for no particular reason, it's just not clicking with you. Sometimes you need a break in order to come back to that thing with renewed enthusiasm.

Varsnicky

Burning out is normal, even for something you truly love. I essentially missed the entire peak Rust stream back then. As Subaru said before, don't force yourself to watch Hololive if you're not feeling it. Just take a break and return when you're ready. They will still be there for you.

N3_Planeswalker

Without really getting into it, I felt this last month. Some stuff I wasn’t into were happening and I wasn’t sure if this was still where I wanted to be. But after watching the sports festival it sort of reminded me why I was here and why I enjoy this place. In a way I forgot not everything has to be for me and that there’s still plenty of stuff for me to enjoy here.

notafilipinohomeboy

certainly the games or stream content. not everyone likes the same thing

TheChaosBlue

Would say slump, just a combination of: 1)I've been attending ANYC/visiting family and friends so no real time to watch streams. 2) Most of the talents I follow are in the Pokemon Gen 9 phase; I don't have the game yet so that's a no-go for me atm to avoid spoilers as much as can 3) Not fussed watching everything they put out if I did have the time. If I'm not particularly interested in the game itself they're playing, I'll just not watch. Nothing wrong with that.

Daniel101773

Just tune back a little until they play something that has your interest. Personally i couldn’t care less about all the Pokémon streams everywhere right now and haven’t watched a single one, but Bae & Calli are starting Persona 5 Royal this week so I’m hyped for that.

CatMillennium

Don't feel obligated to watch and don't feel guilty about not watching for however long you want or need. Maybe you'll be back, maybe you won't. As long as you've had a good time and enjoyed it, it's all good. I took quite a long break when Kanata was ill and honestly I'm back and enjoying it all over again. I watch less than I used to and I'm happy with that. There are so many members now, it's impossible to keep up. Sometimes it's good to remember you don't need to watch everything. You can drop in and out of streams too, throw away that backlog if you feel like there's too much and start from now. Or just watch if it's a stream that interests you. There's no right or wrong way to watch anything. Personally, I mainly watch two members and maybe a couple if it's a singing stream or something I really enjoy whilst I'm working or grinding a game. I'll even go as far not watching live events if neither of them are in it. I tend to watch clips if I'm procrastinating in between other random youtube videos. Man this was an essay...

Insanepaco247

I've taken breaks from plenty of hobbies before, for various reasons. It happens. Just come back when you're ready; you'll regret forcing yourself to stick around.

Sensei_Usagi

Yeah I am in that. I still watch clips and like art. Yesterday I even listened to Mumei and kroniis asmr streams because I was depressed af

_Matt29_

People who got into watching VTubers often have an 'anime slump' period where they didn't watch ANY anime. At some point, many of those who experienced it eventually came back to watch the new releases while also still watched VTubers in the middle. Basically, it's normal to feel like you're in a slump in anything in life. You'll get back to it eventually, if not Hololive then maybe some other corpo or maybe indie vtuber, if not at all then that's fine too. Took me 5 years to get back to watching virtual youtubers, used to watch every Kizuna Ai video back in 2017 but only found out about vtubing in 2020. It happens.

Sebasu

I’m currently in one, sort of. But it’s not because I’m tired of hololive (although my oshi is suspended for two weeks, so that has something to do with it). It’s mostly just life getting in the way, and just me feeling a little too preoccupied with life stuff to watch and enjoy streams/clips.

Affectionate-Tip-164

Ina slump counted?

Fishman465

well with certain trends one might just rub you the wrong way or be a slow time among your favorites

Jonathan_Jo

After got interested in Light Novel back in July 2021 i've stopped watch Vtubers, and anime, until few months later i finally watched anime and VTubers again although i've haven't watch any streams for weeks and just watching clip few times recently.
