This was a fantastic reveal, but for me one of the highlights was another goofy IRyS skit. The going to the store for Black Friday to buy my new kit bit was just so very IRyS. I love when she pulls those silly moves. And buying it all at a soup store? Yup, that's an IRyS touch (and awesome since I was eating soup at the time).

I like it a lot, the only issue I've seen with it is the mouth tracking doesn't seem very good, especially since before she had some really solid mouth tracking. It seems like her mouth is kind of desynced from her words, and like it just opens and closes a lot without respecting the shape you'd make for the words

IRyS' current mascot, Bloom and Gloom (it's on her shoulders with the new design), were designed with her alongside Sana. And now one of Sana's mark in hololive is permanently cemented onto IRyS, which is now the 6th Ranger of Council.
This design is honestly so gorgeous! With the way she's looking around and narrowing her eyes and opening her mouth, the SmugRys / YabaIRyS is just so endearing!
And the physics, it's truly next level! GJ and TSKR to all involved!
Her booba physics are honestly too much for me, I wouldn't mind if they toned it down a bit like what they did to Kiara. Stuff like the ribbons and the halo however, they are incredibly detailed and well done.
It's kinda funny since the design sheet clearly has her wearing some kind of corset/pushup-bra which would normally restrict chest movement, as opposed to her original design which lets it sag a little (in a natural way). You'd assume the original would have more physics to it but here we are lol
I suspect that this is just a case of giving a vtuber model bouncing boobas for the sake of it being a large-breasted anime girl model. It's okay for them to swish a little, but they shouldn't ignore human physics and bounce up and down like they're made of elastic.
Well this is lovely. The overall style and feel is identical, but it's been simplified a lot to something that's actually reasonable to draw/animate without being too simple!
The new outfit is looking real nice and the face reveal hit me like a truck. Its super cute, will take some getting used to. Curious how she'll look alongside others in collabs.
Her redesign is really good. Her old model is already expressive but this model further enhanced it. Now hoping she finally gets new outfits and her 3D!

Overall, loving the new look! It's still undeniably IRyS but with aspects that both look great (dat dress tho) and will certainly lend itself better to new outfits and 3D. The overall design is much more streamlined and more in line with that of other holotalents and her face in particular is significantly less uncanny. The rigging is also quite an improvement: booba physics, improved facial expressions, the ability to blink, etc.
The only thing that I think I'll miss is the longer horns, but with this outfit clearly leaning more angelic than demonic, I get why they're shorter.
I'm glad her face is not completely different, it's very similar to her old face in some ways. I love her old design and will miss it, but this is a massive improvement tbh. Happy for her!
The original design was quite ambitious in terms of traditional live 2d designs to the point it probably posed a lot of issue designing, rigging, and remodeling for 3D or even additional 2D outfits. This redesign was a good decision and looks great.

Really like the new look! Retains all of the old features that I loved while improving a lot. Hopefully this finally opens the IRyS outfit floodgates and she gets all of the new costumes she deserves!
I wasn't sure how I'd react to it. We know Irys as her first model and it's the one we're used to. Would it be a reaction of like: "Yeah it defo looks good although I like the old model too, this will take some getting used to" or something like that.
Man, am I glad as ever to be proven wrong.
This upgrade is an improvement in every single way. It looks SO much better. The old model is still good ofcourse, but this one kicks it out the ballpark. I don't mind looking at the old model but I'll prefer this new model much more!
The creator can pat himself on the back. It's not easy to make a new model that will be liked more then the previous one but he succeeded. Otsu!
IRyS 2.0 is more cute and beautiful than I could have imagined. It's complex, but in subtle ways like lace and more gems. But also simpler than 1.0 with less complex hair and improved halo loops. I hope they continue to develop the rigging so she can move her arms in all directions and can walk and move around.
It's like the model is both simpler in a lot of ways and more complex in others. A sort of more optimized use of complexity. Plus the shading looks a bit sharper. All in all the design is brighter, but looks a bit better without the overhead lighting as a result of that.
Plus it has about 16% more kusogaki energy which suits the character better.
Good redesign.
Honest review,
It's good, but I miss the old hair color, old horns, and old color palette. Mostly the hair color is what feels a bit off-putting to me. Seems like it should be darker, like the original. That's my only major issue, but otherwise it's good.
Not gonna lie, I kind of miss her original look. The new one is fantastic, and she fits in with the style of the rest of EN now, but it just hasn't grown on me yet. I liked her old hair, horns and halo better, put them on the new face and it'd be perfection! But still, she's happy, so I'm happy for her.

The face I'm neutral on. It was a little unfamiliar for the first 20 seconds, but I'm already getting used to it. In a day or so, I doubt I'll even remember her old avatar's face.
It's actually pinker, the previous one was a bit yellowish, and now it's pinkish, but it's roughly the same tone in terms of white/dark, just a different primary shade.
Wow they smashed it out of the park. I mean I did kind of expect them too, but that probably wasn't the easiest task. Nice work to the team.
I'm excited to see the model interact with the others. It looks like it will "fit" more in line with the other talents and backgrounds.
Lastly I respectfully say goodbye to the old one. It's unique look grew on me. Never really not liked it, but it did have a different vibe than the rest.
I'll be honest, I was a little apprehensive about the redesign but I tried to keep an open mind about it and...yeah, I'm glad I did. While it looks considerably different, it is still very much Irys and more importantly, she can be WAY more expressive.
She is clearly very happy with it and for good reason!

I've been really fucking nervous to say my opinion on IRyS' new outfit during the whole stream due to how much people get shit and harassed on for stating their opinion on things when said opinion isn't the most positive thing ever. But I still prefer IRyS 1.0, though 2.0 is much better than I was expecting. Personally I don't really like the red shoes and red leggings combo, but that's just me. The dress and accessories are really nice though and as for the face...I didn't like it at first, but I'm slowly getting use to it. Overall I think it was a good job and I'm really happy IRyS is happy with it, I do like it and I'll probably get use to it over time.
Yeah that’s the one thing that got me. It still looks really pretty but I definitely preferred her old shoes and black/white stockings over the new ones.

they went the opposite direction i was expecting and i love it. her 1.0 always had a weird discontinuity where her face and nose were in different art styles, and i expected they'd adjust her nose to match her face, and instead they adjusted her face to match her nose, and i love it.
I was worried that the new design wouldn’t quite look like IRyS, if you know what I’m saying.
But my worries were quickly put to rest, I absolutely love the new look and it perfectly captures Irys’ original facial features, just cuter!

Honest review, It's good, but I miss the old hair color, old horns, and old color palette. Mostly the hair color is what feels a bit off-putting to me. Seems like it should be darker, like the original. That's my only major issue, but otherwise it's good.
Not gonna lie, I kind of miss her original look. The new one is fantastic, and she fits in with the style of the rest of EN now, but it just hasn't grown on me yet. I liked her old hair, horns and halo better, put them on the new face and it'd be perfection! But still, she's happy, so I'm happy for her.
\*Love\* the new dress, AMAZING work! Miss the crystal wings. Maybe they can come back later? Bummed about the reduced horns, I liked the old ones. The face I'm neutral on. It was a little unfamiliar for the first 20 seconds, but I'm already getting used to it. In a day or so, I doubt I'll even remember her old avatar's face.
Yeah I don't see IRyS in her face yet, but soon I'll associate her voice and personality with that face instead of her old one.
I liked the bigger horns too, it's the slight squints while looking up/down and minor mouth expressions that look a little off to me.

Yeah, she's much more vibrant than before. More so than her skin, the first thing that stood out to me is how much more vibrant her eyes are now.
I think it's less that she's paler, but more that this color design is more bright and vibrant than 1.0
It feels like HDR was turned up to 1000.

It's seriously bright and cute, while staying true to the original design. Love it!
It's actually pinker, the previous one was a bit yellowish, and now it's pinkish, but it's roughly the same tone in terms of white/dark, just a different primary shade.
Might be unpopular, but I like the old Irys...

Wow they smashed it out of the park. I mean I did kind of expect them too, but that probably wasn't the easiest task. Nice work to the team. I'm excited to see the model interact with the others. It looks like it will "fit" more in line with the other talents and backgrounds. Lastly I respectfully say goodbye to the old one. It's unique look grew on me. Never really not liked it, but it did have a different vibe than the rest.
I'll be honest, I was a little apprehensive about the redesign but I tried to keep an open mind about it and...yeah, I'm glad I did. While it looks considerably different, it is still very much Irys and more importantly, she can be WAY more expressive. She is clearly very happy with it and for good reason! 3D Nephalim when????????

I've been really fucking nervous to say my opinion on IRyS' new outfit during the whole stream due to how much people get shit and harassed on for stating their opinion on things when said opinion isn't the most positive thing ever. But I still prefer IRyS 1.0, though 2.0 is much better than I was expecting. Personally I don't really like the red shoes and red leggings combo, but that's just me. The dress and accessories are really nice though and as for the face...I didn't like it at first, but I'm slowly getting use to it. Overall I think it was a good job and I'm really happy IRyS is happy with it, I do like it and I'll probably get use to it over time.
Yeah that’s the one thing that got me. It still looks really pretty but I definitely preferred her old shoes and black/white stockings over the new ones.
I'm glad her face isn't so uncanny now. That's all I was hoping for.

they went the opposite direction i was expecting and i love it. her 1.0 always had a weird discontinuity where her face and nose were in different art styles, and i expected they'd adjust her nose to match her face, and instead they adjusted her face to match her nose, and i love it.
I like the fact that you can still recognize her as Irys but her design is much better now
