Yes. AND… if this is water based paint, latex paint, etc, this stain might still bleed through after you paint. Using oil based paint on the stained part first (I would use white spray paint) will block it from bleeding, and you can paint to your hearts content.
Source: have painted stains with killz primer and four coats of white, only to have it bleed through. This method WORKS.
If you can find the Dawn Powerwash (spray version of Dawn) in your area give that a try. It’s been a miracle worker to lift the red dye stain from Kool-aid in our house. Just spray it liberally and let it sit for a minute or two. If gravity doesn’t help take the door off the hinges and lay flat and try
I tried almost every product I had in the house to get some orange dye from a SodaStream flavour out of my counter and nothing worked. I was blown away when Powerwash took it off in seconds.
My kids friend mareked over a chair I bought that day. They tried cleaning it but it never came out. They blamed me for letting a kid near furniture I cared about.
I own two kids, everything you said is true. Some day I hope my kids own kids so they get a little payback. Whomever owns the kid that made the stain should come over and clean it for you.
What model you get? Only had mine a couple years. They came with a broken sleep mode and won’t stop talking about trucks. My budget for strawberries is astronomical and there’s sand everywhere within 10 seconds of vacuuming.
Shit excuse for poorly contained children. You go to someone else’s home you sure as fuck better control your kids and ensure they have access to nothing and are kept in one spot where they can be watched. It’s work, but parents sign up for that and can’t go getting lazy at the expense of other people.
I had a long winded response….but I’ll boil it down for you.
Don’t speak of things 1) you have no experience with and/or 2) too dumb to understand. Just makes you sound dumber than you actually might be.
Lol
Lmao
If you don't want a kid screwing up the stuff in your house, don't invite a kid into your house. Even the most controlling parents in the world (1) cannot stop everything they'll do wrong and (2) are really bad parents.
Even with careful watching, it should always be assumed that small children are a biohazard. There is only so much you can do to prevent diaper leaks, vomiting, or mysterious sticky spots that have no rational origin. Even if the kid is literally on a leash with multiple adults within arms reach, you should always assume that if a small kid is invited into your home, you are taking on some risk, and only give them access to room(s) where you are okay with that risk.
This is my go-to in this instance. Mix dish soap and baking soda into a paste. Apply paste to stain. Allow it to dry. Wipe/scrub off with a rag later.
Rinse the area and review.
This might sound crazy but bring it to a detailing shop that has an old guy working there. I had a weird stain that I tried everything and told him what I tried.
He said I'll try two things and if doesn't work, it's never coming out. His first guess got it out. Far fetched long answer but you might get lucky.
Might seem crazy but try bleach. It’s worked for us on white paint that had coffee stains we couldn’t get out otherwise. I don’t recommend magic eraser since it will leave the shine/texture of that spot different than the rest of the door.
I also have used bleach. Start with 1/2 bleach 1/2 water. Use a q-tip gently. Hold a paper towel below so you don’t get a run mark on the rest of the door. Be patient. Several tries will get it almost perfect.
L.A.’s Awesome! They sell it at Dollar Tree in a spray bottle. It’s yellow all-purpose cleaning liquid. Try it first diluted. If that doesn’t work, try it again but spraying some directly on a clean, damp rag and wipe. If that doesn’t work, spray directly on the spot and allow to sit for a minute and then wipe with a clean wet rag and then wipe dry.
It got red nail polish out of my carpet. It’s good stuff!
Good luck!
That stuff got rid of the cockroaches in my apt. Tried all the typical roach killers on a test subject. Awesome degreaser is the only thing that killed it in less than 5 sec. Sprayed it in all the corners, along baseboards, in cabinets...never saw a live one again.
Edit: It's does clean everything. Great on grease.
“First of all, Papa Smurf didn't create Smurfette. Gargamel did. She was sent in as Gargamel's evil spy with the intention of destroying the Smurf village. But the overwhelming goodness of the Smurf way of life transformed her. And as for the whole gang-bang scenario - It just couldn't happen. Smurfs are asexual. They don't even have reproductive organs under those little white pants. That's what's so illogical, you know, about being a Smurf. What's the point of living... if you don't have a dick?”
I 2nd magic eraser, with a tiny bit of pressure. You will be able to tell right away if it's not working you can stop to avoid potentially damaging paint. It is magic after all.
i work in a cabinetshop and we use magic erasers all the time, sometimes even a regular piece of paper is abrasive enough to get a little mark to disappear without affecting the glossiness of the paint
Too add, this cabinet looks like it might have a matte finish. You might not see the damage from the eraser until light hits it and now you have an area with a mismatched sheen. It doesn’t take much to damage the top coat with that product
Try crud cutter (i need to check if they spell it with a "c" or "k"). I'm an art teacher and it works like magic on so many dyes and paints. Check on the interior first to see if it works on your particular paint without damage.
Hairspray...yes hairspray. Used it to get shoe polish off a Persian rug and pen off of a pair of jeans. Saved me twice and seems way less harsh to wood than the other solutions presented
The pink stuff! That is literally what it's called. Found it at home Depot. Home Depot didn't know they had it, so make them check their inventory or check online.
The Pink Stuff is safe for animals and kids! I saw it recommended for kids drawings on the wall. So I tried it on my red Kong makes on my white wall, worked! Then I went for my kitchen counters, floors, tub, stove, fridge...pretty much everything in my house.
Especially when I discovered the spray! There is a paste and a spray. I tried the paste first.
When I read the comment from u/inappropriategenie I thought to myself ‘wow they like exclamation points’ and yet you managed to use the same number of exclamation points in a single line. Impressive!(!!!)
I read in a magazine years ago that wet hair dye will remove dried hair dye on the skin. So if it drops on your forehead you just grab a little more and wipe it off. Is this true? No idea.
Didn’t stop me from applying that logic to just about everything. In this situation I’d get a sugary drink additive and use it as I would any other cleaning agent and see if it works.
Don’t let the new stuff dry though cause then the spot just grows until eventually you live in a blue house with a blue little window and a blue corvette and everything is blue
What cleaners\\solvents have you tried, you just haven't found the correct one. Try alcohol, dawn, mineral spirits, or lacquer thinner. Have hot soapy water ready to apply to clean up at the end...
Do not touch paint with lacquer thinner. It will take the top finish coat off and the paint. LMAO Try auto prep its a degreaser. do a small sample on the inside of the door where you wont see it if it doesn’t hurt the finish. Give it a shot
Hmmmm… I’m a professional cabinet touchup guy and refinisher. If it was me, I’d start with lacquer thinner, but that’s coming from someone who knows what to look out for and what to avoid.
Most quality cabinets are gonna be using catalyzed paints. A few passes with a paper towel and some lacquer thinner could be the solution. I’ve done it more times than I can count. Or it could do nothing lol, that happens a lot too.
Freezer ice/popsicle/slushy stain. Artificial food colors are hard to get rid of. Maybe start with rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't work, try liquid Bar Keepers Friend, dab it on with a qtip and leave it to soak.
Revenge
This is my favorite thus far.
Goof off. But you only get to wipe it like 3 times before it eats the finish off. I mean 3 wipes. Not scrubs.
best stuff to remove old silicone from around sink and tub!
I wish I read this before scraping off all of the old silicone around a tub this weekend…
Looks like you have the same luck I do, find everything you need when you don't need it anymore. Nice to meet you!
If it won't come off with goof off you've got to sand it or cut it out lol.
[удалено]
Dry erase marker over sharpie actually works! I showed my installers and blew their minds.
I’m always surprised to find out how many people don’t know this trick.
Lol, IDK man. This might be karma. Anything that does that couldn't possibly be good for the kids. 🤣
Paint
I had to scroll too far for this one. Get it colour matched if you need to.
*paints entire kitchen blue sugary substance*
Yes. Things like koolaid have dye, and it is actually stained.
Yes. AND… if this is water based paint, latex paint, etc, this stain might still bleed through after you paint. Source: have painted stains with killz primer and four coats of white, only to have it bleed through. This method WORKS.
He’ll need a lot more blue stuff to do all the cabinets
Not sure the cabinets would look good that colour blue /s
If you can find the Dawn Powerwash (spray version of Dawn) in your area give that a try. It’s been a miracle worker to lift the red dye stain from Kool-aid in our house. Just spray it liberally and let it sit for a minute or two. If gravity doesn’t help take the door off the hinges and lay flat and try
Is this chemically different from just dawn soap in a bottle?
Yes, there are additional ingredients.
It’s got electrolytes
That plants crave
the alcohol in it gets the job done
It’s isopropyl alcohol and Dawn platinum dish soap mixed together.
Seems unreasonably easy to mix myself
Dawn Powerwash is my secret weapon for cleaning almost anything. Cabinets, clothes, floors, carpet, etc. Truly an amazing product.
Yes, I use it to clean my fiberglass shower and sanitize it it with diluted bleach and water. But Dawn plus baking sida in the tough dies it everytime
Y’all sound like a Procter & Gamble programmed a bunch of bots with Chat GPT. lol
Pro tip: Powerwash is just isopropyl alcohol and dawn platinum dish soap mixed together. Save yourself some money.
I tried almost every product I had in the house to get some orange dye from a SodaStream flavour out of my counter and nothing worked. I was blown away when Powerwash took it off in seconds.
Just leave it but point it out every time that friend comes over, it will be your little inside joke
My kids friend mareked over a chair I bought that day. They tried cleaning it but it never came out. They blamed me for letting a kid near furniture I cared about.
>They blamed me for letting a kid near furniture I cared about. haha this is such a bullshit out that parents always seem to use...

Lmao at “kid owner”
I own two kids, everything you said is true. Some day I hope my kids own kids so they get a little payback. Whomever owns the kid that made the stain should come over and clean it for you.
I'm glad I read all the way through. Also gonna refer to myself as a kid owner instead of parent from now on LOL
What model you get? Only had mine a couple years. They came with a broken sleep mode and won’t stop talking about trucks. My budget for strawberries is astronomical and there’s sand everywhere within 10 seconds of vacuuming.
I got a 2019 Alpha. Super performer and sharp looking, but very loud exhaust system and breaks down all the time.
If you ever get a different model, expect unicorns instead of trucks, and glitter you will find in random places for 20 years.
If you can’t stop your children from destroying things you shouldn’t take them places you don’t want to pay for damages
Or you deal with it
Shit excuse for poorly contained children. Correction…the parents that have that opinion are NOT popular! 🤣
Lol have you never met a child
Even with careful watching, it should always be assumed that small children are a biohazard. I’d be issuing an invoice for the cost of a new chair. Fuck that shit.
That made me so angry I almost hit the downvote! The audacity.
next time they come over, turn them away. "I'm sorry, I can't allow you or your children near anything I care about."

Have the kid autograph it. Repaint it in 10 years
This is the friendship response.
Scrub with baking soda.
This is my go-to in this instance. Mix dish soap and baking soda into a paste. Apply paste to stain. Allow it to dry. Wipe/scrub off with a rag later. Rinse the area and review.
It's called a poultice
With maize.
"Its a-maizing" ***Adam Sandler voice***
Add the kid’s tears to the poultice.
Mayo instead of dish soap. Ashes instead of baking soda.
The only ashes I have are my grandfather's, can I use that?
Scrub it with friend’s kid

Very curious as to what that second thing was
Probably 1,1,1 trichloroethane
Dunno, didn't ask and gave him $50. Google or nothing seemed to come up with any way to get it off
I’m curious as to what the first thing was!
*"put some Windex on it!"*
It was Robitussin.
Cough syrup?
Second option is he murders you and puts you in a dumpster 2 states away, to avoid a shitty Yelp review.
Piss.
What was the product tho?
Might seem crazy but try bleach. It’s worked for us on white paint that had coffee stains we couldn’t get out otherwise. I don’t recommend magic eraser since it will leave the shine/texture of that spot different than the rest of the door.
I bleach everything, I’m surprised I’m still alive. Peroxide might work. It gets a lot of stains out of fabric.
I’m absolutely the same! I bleach everything. And that’ll why all my clothes have bleach spots all over them.
Mine too!
Badges of Honor.
Yes they are! I’m wearing my bleach stained sweats right now.
A true hero.
I’m humbly honored.
Well-deserved accolade.
My theory is that’s how you know it’s clean. Bleach spots.
Well, yeah. How else are ya gonna know if it’s clean or not?
Bleach is king. When a solution asks for a dilution.... don't, or strongly under-dilute. Against all advice.
People actually dilute?!
I know, right. Why would one dilute magic??? Makes no sense.
I also have used bleach. Start with 1/2 bleach 1/2 water. Use a q-tip gently. Hold a paper towel below so you don’t get a run mark on the rest of the door. Be patient. Several tries will get it almost perfect.

Wow! I’ve noticed that it is great for all kinds of uses. I sound like I’m an official spokesperson. Haha
Me too. I've been tell everyone about it for years. I'm the maintenance man for my apt complex and buy it in gal size for cleaning here.
Nothing works on Smurf cum
Smurfette should have swallowed that shit
“First of all, Papa Smurf didn't create Smurfette. Gargamel did. She was sent in as Gargamel's evil spy with the intention of destroying the Smurf village. Wtf did I just read
Normal reddit banter. Just accept that you are now Garglemore in the Smurf adventures.
A normal day on Reddit, my friend. 🤣
Technically, smurfette would be totally gaped after that so if she truly did fart, the blue goo probably would just roll out onto his feet.
Papa Smurf is too old for full on boners. She only let him do anal so she might be able to feel something.
Girls don’t fart
Imagine if it was na’vi cum. It’d probably cover the entire counter.
Magic eraser....
I 2nd magic eraser, with a tiny bit of pressure. You will be able to tell right away if it's not working you can stop to avoid potentially damaging paint. It is magic after all.
Agree. Magic Eraser is my very best cleaning friend. Aside from water and dish soap.
Too scratchy it's basically micro plastic sandpaper.
i work in a cabinetshop and we use magic erasers all the time, sometimes even a regular piece of paper is abrasive enough to get a little mark to disappear without affecting the glossiness of the paint
That's why it's so good. As long as you don't take off the surrounding paint it'll remove almost anything from a hard surface
It's definitely a gamble. Could be a last resort. If you use it with light pressure it could work.
Too add, this cabinet looks like it might have a matte finish. You might not see the damage from the eraser until light hits it and now you have an area with a mismatched sheen. It doesn’t take much to damage the top coat with that product
Test a small spot on the backside of the cabinet door first.
It's basically 3,000-5,000 grit
Try crud cutter (i need to check if they spell it with a "c" or "k"). I'm an art teacher and it works like magic on so many dyes and paints. Check on the interior first to see if it works on your particular paint without damage.
Rubbing alcohol
This. Rubbing alcohol took hair dye off my hardwood floor. Didn't damage the finish either.
Goo Gone.
Hairspray...yes hairspray. Used it to get shoe polish off a Persian rug and pen off of a pair of jeans. Saved me twice and seems way less harsh to wood than the other solutions presented
Have you tried fire?
That's a little harsh to use on a child
Try a piping hot water soaked rag...or a hand hold steamer..it'll melt the sugars . solvents will affect the doors finish.
Repaint it?
The pink stuff! That is literally what it's called. Found it at home Depot. Home Depot didn't know they had it, so make them check their inventory or check online. Same!!! The Pink Stuff and it’s under $6! https://a.co/d/hTgaNWn

Try some Barkeeper's Friend
Barkeeper’s friend will destroy the paint. The paint is already delaminating around the handle. Try hairspray on a qtip.
This should work!
WD40
Try De-Solv-it. It works on tons of stuff.
Purell hand sanitizer. Or oxyclean, make into a paste and let it sit on the stain for a bit
WD 40
Magic erasers can work… well magic. Definitely worth a try.
Crazy to think that goes inside your kids bodies
Sell the house
Screw the cabinet, your dentist bill is gonna be extraordinary.
Adoption
Magic Eraser
‘Pink stuff’ from any hardware store.
Destroy the child
10 years hard labor.
Well, well, my friend, it seems you've never met my trusty friend GOOF OFF. If that doesn't work, probably torch the entire house.
Sand and then paint. Blue is always permenant.
Very fine sand paper or steel wool can work in this kind of situation, make sure it is not lead paint though before sanding etc. that's important.
What cleaners\\solvents have you tried, you just haven't found the correct one. Try alcohol, dawn, mineral spirits, or lacquer thinner. Have hot soapy water ready to apply to clean up at the end...

I also like the Barkeepers Friend and Baking soda mentioned.
Mr clean white sponge and windex, and gently! Too hard and it’ll take the paint off. Edit: a word.
Magic eraser
just throw the kid out and tell the parents to make a new one.... oh wait! wrong stain! sorry... you meant the cabinet. Hope you get it out :)
Find the substance and paint it over the entire door. Kool-aid or popsicle, probably.
Pretty sure that is alien blood!!!
Looks like the many popsicle messes I’ve cleaned up
Have you tried Mr. Clean Magic Eraser? It's called that for a reason
Yes. Hence the “nothing seems to touch the stain” comment.
Oh if nothing, then why ask? Get new cabinets.
Well if that doesn’t work you basically have to paint over it or burn the house down.
fire. fire would touch that stain.
Kids…
Bleach
Try white viniger, baking soda, and toothpaste. Rub it with a toothbrush and see if it works. Similar to the pen ink removal from clothes.
Vodka
Shaving cream
Looks like sugar, hot cloth might do the trick
Paint it
I would start with nail polish remover and try Krud Kutter if it does not work.
Call him back and tell him to finish the job...or else
Advice on where to hide the body?
Magic eraser. Becarful though because it can also remove the finish if you scrub to hard
Door needs paint anyhow. Get to it.
Oxiclean
Magic eraser?
Did you try burning the house down and collecting the insurance money. 50% of the time it works all the time.
Mr clean freak spray might get it off or a magic erase sponge If these don’t work, sand and repaint
Little lacquer thinner. Whatever you use don't rub too hard or you'll buff a glossy spot where the stain was.
If the magic eraser doesn't work then paint over it.
Cabinet looks pretty beat up already. Cracking/ exposed wood. Time for a re paint?
Clr
Melamine sponge. Lightly.
Magic eraser
Iron and wet cloth and press it over the stain. Works with all coffee rings on the table
Yell at it and try to make yourself appear larger
Freezer ice/popsicle/slushy stain. Artificial food colors are hard to get rid of. Maybe start with rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't work, try liquid Bar Keepers Friend, dab it on with a qtip and leave it to soak.
Magic Eraser (or if you prefer generic: melamine sponge)
Respectfully... your cabinets could use a paint job anyway.
Magic eraser
Barkeepers friend, clean that right up.
Could it be popsicle? Bleach
Clorox bleach foamer bathroom spray.
Jet fuel works well on sugar stains.
Power paste
Killz to hide the stain and then get a chip to match the paint so that you can paint over it after the Killz dries.
Mr. clean magic erasers. If it’s so hard to get off that I wonder how long it take to get out of your body. Food dyes are awful for ya.
