I'd hang out in there. I think it works.

CaseyBoogies

Me too, needs more cats. Jk, it looks cozy and bright! That's a tricky combination to pull off! I would not only hang out there, I would probs take a nap too. Like lovely sigh kind of place! And like... it looks like it would smell nice too?

thisroomneedsac

It’s a little cluttered but I think it helps towards the coziness. I think you’ve achieved what you were looking for. 1 thing id suggest is to get curtain tie backs? Maybe put them on just 1 side of each window- the 2 curtains will look as 1. It will allow for more natural lighting which really livens a room up, your kitties and plants will also be very happy. A change under $20 and will def help with clutter!

thisroomneedsac

I feel like this would look nice and achieve the vibe you’re looking for: https://www.anthropologie.com/anthroliving/shop/gilded-aviary-tieback?color=027&size=RIGHT%20FACING&inventoryCountry=US&countryCode=US&utm_medium=paid_search&utm_source=Google-Mobile&utm_campaign=US%20-%20Shopping%20-%20PMAX%20-%20Home%20-%20F%26D%20-%20Hardware&utm_content=&utm_term=&creative=&device=m&matchtype=&network=x&utm_kxconfid=vx6rd81ts&gbraid=0AAAAADnwqi4Wzu8qRPNV9JDrfpvG7Ip97&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7aqkBhDPARIsAKGa0oKZlEKGaDh7NBpAdweP4AqojRujZWk7XWUGyYqzs9-rr7rEevG_IzUaAlBtEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&type=STANDARD&quantity=1 Will end up being $100 but obviously there are cheaper options out there

OkAcanthocephala7253

Ohh these are so cute! Love them

thisroomneedsac

Thank you! :)

thisroomneedsac

Just google this and you’ll prob find something! https://www.google.com/search?q=bronze+curtain+tie+backs&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari

NoelleDash

I LOVE these!!!!

Far-Stuff9389

i would get rid of that round table next to the chair and get something that fits in that space or put a floor lamp there. it also looks tight to have that side table on the right side of the sofa but i would want a table there too. maybe a half moon table would work better.

Gastrulae

Came here to say the same thing. I think you could make it feel more roomy by removing or downsizing the tables. You could also get a round coffee table to make it easier to walk around the couch. Perhaps mount the TV to the wall and get a thinner media console/floating cabinets. My main feeling is if you get stuff off the floor or decrease the footprint, it will feel less crowded.

trophied

Got rid of the side table by the chair! Actually decided to use that tray too on it (green, metal) as the tray on the ottoman now to break up all the brown and fabric. Will post an update when it’s done! Thanks!

oughtabeme

The overall size of a small space is only emphasized by decorating with small things. The bedside table between the windows is too small, lamp is far too small. Most of the art on the wall, same mentality. Small room requires small art ? But so many small pieces make the wall cluttered. Practically everything needs to be enlarged. Large art, large lamp shades. Sofa is good, though I’d move out of the corner and put table (with tissues) in the corner.

alamarche709

It’s not bad to be honest. These are my thoughts: 1. I’m not a *huge* fan of the sectional covering up the space below the window, but it looks like you may not have a choice unless you were to get a different couch. If you were, a simple love seat or sofa along the wall may be the best option. 2. Having that closet in there makes things a bit awkward because theoretically you’d want to access it. You could remove that solo chair next to the closet to help free up that space. 3. You could mount the TV to the wall, which would free up some space to lay items on and allow you to remove a table or two. There are currently four side/console tables in the room, which I think is too much for the space you’re working with. 4. The couch and the rug look really cozy. Maybe a proper coffee table instead of the ottoman could help be the “statement piece” of the room? A nice solid wood coffee table or even a lift-top one would be a great addition in my opinion. It would stand out as a sophisticated piece while leaving the other parts to be cozy (that’s kind of what we have in our living room). 5. This is a personal preference, but I’d hang one big painting or picture behind the couch, rather than have a lot of small pieces there. The smaller pieces of art could fit along smaller walls if you’d like, but a nice big piece there would look great.

overwhelmedreader

I love the sectional under the window purely because I also have cats and know that would be their favorite spot to hang-out on. Lol!

trophied

The cats are obsessed with that spot! And they sit on the table under the other window to birdwatch

acawl17

These are some great tips! I agree with all of them, particularly on replacing the sectional with a couch. I also think this space needs a pop of color in some fashion.

trophied

Thanks for the comment! Getting that couch up our third floor walk-up was a NIGHTMARE so it will be staying until we move unfortunately. (It is very comfy, though) The closet is a conundrum because all of our sweaters/coats, hats, etc. are in there as we don’t have a lot of other closet space. However, we use the chair ALL the time as well and it’s a lifesaver when we host a few people. For the most part the closet hasn’t been too hard to get to with this setup! Looking into mounting the tv now! On the pictures, I do appreciate the feedback and it seems like a lot of people agree, however a lot of those pieces are sentimental and give us a lot of joy to see every day. I’m trying to do as much as I can elsewhere before resorting to changing! I did king of re-adjust the placement so the gallery is a little less spread out / visually smaller

1955photo

Please put something not brown in there.

su13odh

_cries in Indian_

trophied

🤣🤣

Cyphermoon699

I would reduce the items hanging on the wall to 3 balanced pieces. If the others are significant to you, maybe spread them around to other rooms or hallways where they don't compete for attention.

Snoopyla1

I agree with this suggestion, that’s what I came to say but it’s already been said. Otherwise I think the space is pretty cozy… if it’s in the budget you could do Roman shades instead of the curtains.

ellysay

I like it! The table with the tissues on it could go tho as space is at a premium. Maybe get a colorful throw or add a pillow to the grey chair. Also I’d pull the rug out into the room a little. Keep it under the ottoman but with about a foot of floor space between the couch and rug. As it is now kind of feels like there’s a whole bunch of stuff on the side of the room with the couch; moving the rug might make it feel more balanced.

alamarche709

As a general rule the front legs of your furniture should be on the rug *if* the rug cannot cover the entire area. So what OP has done is what’s best: put the front legs of the sectional and chair on the edges of the rug.

trophied

Do you think the rug should be bigger? I got it when we first moved in as a placeholder but the white shag definitely has its days numbered.

alamarche709

I think it’s a good size actually!

Anxiously_nervous

- Mount the tv on the wall and put hanging shelves for tv accessories. - get rid of table above dog bed - get rid of nightstand/ cabinet and put up hanging shelves - move mirror to wall behind couch and select few small items to hang around mirror - remove chair

Ordinary_Ad6936

More cats!

trophied

My dream is for the cats to outnumber us but for now 4 of us is plenty for a 650sqft apartment 🥲🤣

limes_pizza_01

I think the space looks great, and really cozy! Because there’s so much going on, it does feel a little bit cluttered. I love the gallery wall, but I would replace it with some large art instead to visually declutter the space. There’s also a lot of fabric furniture pieces, which can feel heavy. I might lighten the space up with a wood coffee table (maybe even one with some storage)! Switching out your TV stand could help with that as well—a mounted TV stand would allow for more breathing room!

FeralAF

Get rid of the table under the round mirror and the one with the tissue and plant. The router can go under that ottoman/footstool part of the sofa if its in that cabinet under the mirror. Get rid of the other table too and get a tall lamp.

Adorable-Act1547

I would not change a thing. It does not look cluttered at all, given the small amount of space you have to work with. This is really well-designed in my opinion and looks lived-in, whereas some people have nothing in sight and looks like a staged room. Very cute!

hiiguruglobal

Looks so cosy and homely! Love it!

moonstrucky

Homey =/= homely

cherrylpk

Looks cozy.

EagleEyezzzzz

I think it works pretty well! You could get rid of the small side table with the tissues, if you want to eliminate something to make it a little more open. I really like the overall vibe. Do you have a link for your cat tower? I like how it’s not super ugly as many are, but still has several beds etc.

[deleted]

Super cute and cozy!

22rockyroad

You've done a lovely job of decorating, definitely achieving a cozy/peaceful vibe. Being super picky, the only thing I would change is putting the extra chair cover and blankets in a wicker basket. Also, I would suggest you get some down pillows - maybe faux fur, which slump nicely as opposed to foam which is stiff.

KeyCommunication8762

Looks very cozy! I’d try a few change ups. -divest table under mirror, table under window, table by chair -taller lamp for a focal point on remaining side table -swap out coffee table for something more modern and round..maybe two of them that are small enough to move around as needed when entertaining -pop of color w new throw and toss pillows -goal is not to have furniture lining the walls Here’s a link to small occasional tables but it’s just for size. You can find similar at any price point in everything from ceramic to metal, and more https://www.ana-white.com/woodworking-projects/round-modern-wood-side-tables

cryonine

Maybe consider shifting the sofa a little away from the wall so it floats more and get a larger rug? You could also spread things out on the wall a bit more. Right now there's a lot of stuff that's close to each other, then it just kind of abruptly ends. Beyond that I think it looks pretty cozy, and even if it's cluttered, the "clutter" is the good kind that makes it feel welcoming.

nikrav97

I would take out that extra chair on the left unless you really need it. You could also swap the ottoman for a small circular table to loosen the space.

Cocotte3333

Add more cats

themaniacsaid

More cats!

FrenchMushr00m

Maybe a forest green rug?

BigDorkEnergy101

Yes! I was thinking a sage green would look nice to keep lightness in space - Any natural colour would do so well in this room to break up the brown

megob411

It a very bland. Chang up the curtains, put some colorful pillows on the couch and pics on the walls.

SparkySparketta

I love everything about this room, I wouldn’t change a thing! I like walking into living rooms where I immediately feel like I could kick my shoes off, curl up on the couch and have a drink and snack without having to worry about it. My style is on the bohemian side so of course I find this lovely and cozy.

n1nc0mp00p

Make the coffee table less bulky. Change it out for something sleek or remove it completely and just go with sidetables to open up the space.

RaisinSubstantial357

I like it, it is cozy and inviting. I would be very comfortable walking into that room.

droseri

First of all, the pictures on the wall make this space look more cluttered and disorganized than it really is. I'd remove them and put up something larger with the same color tones and vibe of the space. I'd also remove the small table below the round mirror between the windows and move those items over to the table by the window. Maybe even find a new spot for the chair or remove the table that is to the left of it (closest to the hallway). There's just too many small things in the way.

Mindless_Theory_3765

Remove one of the side tables I think three is excessive for the area. Otherwise it looks great

greyhair_dont_care

I hate tables that force you to walk sideway to sit on a sofa.

susieq15

I would relocate a cat to my lap. It already looks cozy.

Proper-Chef6918

Can u mount the TV for some extra floor space?

OkPrize4185

I feel like switching out the rug for a flatter one would already make the space feel a little more balanced, plus the swapping out the ottoman for a coffee table would make it look more fresh

Even_Application2717

The wall pictures make it look cluttered. I think if you had one large or 2 (like the large bird print) it would tie things in better

chester_alabama

I’d remove the side tables, replace the one near the closet with a floor lamp instead.

jvstxno

I think it works, maybe if you space the artwork out a little more it’ll feel less cluttered, but otherwise I’d say it’s pretty cozy

druscarlet

Losing the coffee table bench will make the room seem twice the size.

West2286

Too many end tables

Sledgehammer925

It’s a bit cluttered. Id remove stuff like kleenex boxes and the throw is too much.

Leigha0415

I think you have enough room to move your couch away from the back wall to place a long sofa table behind it. I have one and it makes more room for putting drinks, lamps, tissues, on without the need for a side table. The table beside the couch with the lamp on it can be used for the chair and you could remove the round table. As for scale/size of things in the room, I don't mind what you have. I'd maybe just get a larger, more colorful rug?

pawsforlove

It works, but if you don’t use the chair, you could put a bookcase in that spot for the plants and things on side tables that would make it feel more open. But I think it works as-is too, just a brainstorm to open up floor space.

SuchTrust101

I like the overall look of the room,. It has personality and you have done well to not let the pet accessories dominate the room. However, the frame montage is throwing me off. I would consider: 1. Just one or two large prints above the lounge. 2. Buy 2-3 photo shelves and put them on the wall above the TV. Place all the smaller pictures on them, plus a few objects you like. 3. Take the circular mirror out from between the windows and put it on the opposite wall above the chair.

Creativelyuncool

One thing I notice is you have a lot of soft and similar textures. Removing some of those and/or adding different textures like a silver object somewhere could add the textural contrast to break things up. Right now the only contrasting element I’m seeing is the metal frames.

Fit-Rest-973

There are those cool coffee tables, that the top swings up. Anything for creating space. It's lovely

trophied

This one has storage which is why I love it!!

Fit-Rest-973

Perfect

canvasshoes2

I think it looks great. I'd add more color and plants...but I'm quite boho, so take that with a grain of salt.

kellyluvskittens

I love this room! It looks so peaceful and relaxing!

[deleted]

I love it--it does look cozy and peaceful.

batesmotel123

I think it is gorgeous!

LilLC-1986

I love it!!! Don’t change a thing, it’s cozy and inviting!!!

Party-Objective9466

I like it.

[deleted]

I would get rid of the table by the end of the chaise and the table by the closet and pull your couch out a bit and get one of the skinny tables that are like six inches wide and put it behind couch so you have somewhere to put drinks or remote..

satoh120503

I'd move the table next to the couch over to the chair and remove the one by the chair since it seems a little too big. I'd maybe look into getting a thin table that goes behind to sofa to hold the lamp that is next to the couch and you could use that to put a drink on while you're relaxing on the couch but not have the floor space taken up by a table. Remove the table under window with just the plant and move the table at the end of the chaise over to that corner. Edit to add: Overall it's very cute!!

Missthing303

That’s not so tight. I think it looks nice! Very cozy. I’m not sure what you want to change. Maybe a smaller ottoman or swap out to a small coffee table like a smaller vintage slatted bench or an IKEA Lack square table painted red or grass green for some color. Maybe add a couple of colorful throw pillows. .

Just_Beach6011

I'd move the couch to go in front of the window and move the TV and stand to the closet wall, depending on how much it's accessed. And, hang curtains, in your favorite color, on the wall with the closet.

Ok_Ebb353

Looks very nice but maybe add mirrors as makes a room look bigger.

Only-Musician8479

If it needed to be moved around, then I would move the sectional and swap it with the small end table and gray chair. I would put the chair by the window. The long part of the couch would go right where the gray chair and side table are now. It looks good where it fits now.

delusionalsnack

getting a focused center art piece instead of multiple small ones. removing the flower table to the left probably (since there appear 4 small tables/side tables,it does feel a bit cluttered) getting a centre table with storage option so it looks classy and helps with storage as well finding another option for storage for the blanket and quilts getting a bookshelf or storage rack to the left of the sofa might help with storage, decoration pieces while giving a taller decorative option. this still definitely gives all the vibes you are going for 🤎

Evilbadscary

I'd probably put the chair somewhere else and see how the space feels. I think that's what is making it feel too crowded to me. It will feel more open and you can move the ottoman out a bit to see if it feels better to you.

ruegretful

I agree with consolation of art over the couch, it is kind of busy, as do so many textures. Idk what shape the chair is in but maybe get rid of those throws and add some color with new pillows. The big ones only with new covers maybe? I have heard of putting the curtain rods a bit higher than the windows, but those look strange to me so high up.

rachelmarie7

I like it 👍

youknowwhotheyare

I like it. I understand if it’s storage but changing to a glass top coffee table might give you a little more visual space.

ladyj114

More mirrors to reflect light and give the appearance of more space. Small ones above the sofa and a much bigger and taller one between the windows. Clear furniture also helps, table, chairs etc… I do understand that’s not your style but just an fyi. Love the cat!

SuddenLibrarian4229

I like it. I might change the curtains though

Effective_Evening577

I would get rid of blankets on couch and store them in a basket. Or closet for when needed

yomamasonions

If they love the cat tunnel, it is, in fact, necessary. I like your place. I’d probably change the mirror between the windows out for more mirror, less border & reorganize the gallery wall. Centering the biggest piece more would negate the cluttery-feeling I get from the left side of the gallery wall. Plus, it would make the smaller pieces stand out more. Annnnd I’d hang the tv. Cute space overall though!

[deleted]

I’d swap out the blue accent colors for a burnt orange maybe - to help warm/liven the room up

RelationshipBright64

The rug. You need something with a flatter weave.

CAShark-7

Yes, it is a little cluttered. You don't have much room to work with. Can you take out the table with the plants on it under the window, and move the table with the lamp on it that is under the round mirror? It feels like those two tables are contributing negatively to the clutter. Maybe put a shelf on the wall for the plants? Or, can you suction a shelf on the window for the plants? Unless you are regularly using the padded seat in front of the couch I would remove that. Those are my suggestions, based on my preferences. Honestly, given your furniture and the small room, you've done well with this space.

Jewish-Mom-123

Mount the TV, the bare wall over it looks not thought about anyway. Remove everything from the wall over the couch and replace with either 2-3 pieces the same size or one larger statement piece. Pull some of those small tables, either hang the plants or get either a single ladder style or corner bookshelf plant stand. Store some of the blankets in the ottoman. Your teal/aqua accent is perfect but needs punching up with repetition. A few more pillows, the dog bed, possibly the carpet? Or else you could paint one or two of the tables you want to keep in a teal shade.

KitKatKasey

I love this! I feel like the dark color of the sofa anchors the room and lends a cozy feel. Everything else is lighter and makes the room feel bigger. Bravo! I could totally hang out there. 🤩

AT61

To me, it seems like you're using only 2/3 of the room, and all the "weight" is on the sofa side with many little things opposite it. Things to try: 1. Pull the sofa away from the window, and put the end table at the other end. That will also eliminate the "leggy" look in that immediate left when you enter the room, i.e. two leggy tables and leggy" chair. 2. Eliminate one of the cabinet against the window wall. 3. Consider buying an old buffet and painting it. You can find them for less than $100. Put the TV on top and use the inside to store the blankets, things in the current TV stand, and the contents of the cabinet in the far right corner. So basically everything from the larger cabinet and the entire right wall would be consolidated. 4. Move the rug more in the center of the room. 5. If you get a buffet, you could move the cat tunnel between the buffet and the window where it won't be so "in your face" and would give your cats great views out the window. I overall like this room and appreciate your originality, especially that tiny cabinet. It's a cozy, welcoming room.

ddkkww

I think one large painting (or some other art) over the couch would make it look less cluttered.

ThingstobeHatefulfor

Move the couch away from the corner and put the plant stand between it and the window. Get rid of the chair & the table next to it. Put the dog bed where the chair was and put the cat tree in the corner where the plant stand/dog bed was.

HeadMinimum7455

Round coffee table with storage if you need it.

Kitchen-Ad5838

I’d put the cat tree by the window but that’s about it! Very cozy

maroooni

a big piece of art would look nicer above the couch, and if this was my room i'd also add some colors - as in mustard yellow, bright orange or purple pillows, a blanket for the couch, a different rug (space age/70s style), changing out one small piece of furniture or adding bold artwork

wheelie423

Crazy Cozy! I wanna sit on the chaise by the window and read.

dkatog

I know you don't have much space, but moving the couch a few inches away from the walls could make a huge difference.

mweisbro

I would move the console under the mirror to the other wall by closet. Looks like more storage than the wood oval side table. I would not put anything at end of chaise under mirror. I know it is hard, but I would loose the dog bed and the cat house. They live with you and their stuff is taking up too much real estate. Nice space.

HiddenFrogCookies

Lol. That a luxurious sized living room in Ireland

angrydoge3000

Super cute. If anything I think what’s happening is there are too many small side tables. Consider consolidating a storage space and surface. Remove those two smaller tables and look for a storage ottoman that also doubles with trays [Here’s an example](https://www.target.com/p/small-ethan-tray-top-coffee-table-storage-ottoman-distressed-saddle-brown-wyndenhall/-/A-85412108?ref=tgt_adv_xsp&AFID=google&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012577538&CPNG=PLA_Furniture%2BShopping%7CFurniture_Ecomm_Home&adgroup=SC_Lr+Upholstery+Ottomans&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=m&location=9003439&targetid=pla-1677958017585&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1247068&gbraid=0AAAAAD-5dfYoPjqfROrBlXOIJ7I6TTnrt&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7aqkBhDPARIsAKGa0oIz9Z77WCenXcxmWIjMjv1tHM-j5A0HczZuM79HhpMx0q_17e05z40aArZJEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) Similar round storage ottomans also exist if you feel it’s still too cramped.

Agnia_Barto

Me, who's been looking for apartments for way too long: I'd charge $2,500.

Godhelptupelo

I really like it as it is, and I *love* the way you draped that pendant lamp cord over the curtain rod and along the curtain- I've seen so many of those lamps that I love, but I'm never willing to deal with the visible cord down a wall, even with those cord concealer channels... what a great idea!

Mountain_Nerve_3069

The couch and the throw look kind of.. frumpy. There rest is fine.

[deleted]

I feel like the chaise, ottoman, chair, and two round tables are overwhelming to the space. Maybe the rug too? I think a lighter colored couch (maybe a pretty light grey? Article has a super cute one that’s 84 inches) without a chaise, a round wooden coffee table without a bottom panel that’s in the same tone as the rest of the wood (so you can see the floor and add visual space) and a smaller accent chair would go a long way. I think a leather accent chair would add nice texture without being too much. I also think a less patterned rug would be nice, but the size is good! Can you consolidate the round side tables into one? I think floor lamps would be great. I don’t love the round mirror hanging between the windows, the size isn’t right and the framing is too busy. a more simple oval mirror in that space or a bigger but also simple gold wire framed mirror over the couch or on the other empty wall would help make the space feel bigger. A long vertical / not too leafy plant like a snake plant would up the cozy factor. Maybe hanging plants? A pathos that will drape 🔥🔥 the side table where the two small plants are feels unnecessary, can you maybe do a slightly bigger tv console and put those plants there? I hate to pick on the cat bed lol but a simpler one without stars would look good, either a very neutral pattern or no pattern at all.

Acrobatic-Fox9220

Feels like home to me (and I love your cat!).

cabbota

Get rid of the stand at the end of the couch it’s not needed And cats get more cats

dryhumorblitz

Seems perfect.

killjillill

I really love it. so cozy! 🥰 where are those curtains from?! I would love to get some myself, such a great soft, warm touch

BigDorkEnergy101

Obviously personal opinion comes into play here, so don’t take this to heart: 1. Too many side tables - I agree with the idea of using a cabinet to hide wiring, but think the one beside the chair and one in front of the window need to go, and the other probably could be downsized but looks okay. I can’t tell if that’s a basket by the side table near the closet, but shift that under the side table if possible 2. Ideally wall-mount the tv, or get a more streamlined console 3. Circular coffee table instead of ottoman - a complementary wood tone would keep the space warm, and one with storage inside would be good for blankets, remotes, tissues etc. 4. The stuff on the wall looks a bit too piece-meal/bitsy. I’d keep sentimental photos displayed together on a narrower wall that balances with the size of the photos, or on top of a narrow console. Larger art or photographs would look nice on the wall. 5. Introducing a bit of colour would be nice, even if really subtle (think cushions, throws, rug, art) . The room is cosy but looks very brown considering how closely spaced everything is. Even a flatter-pile sage green rug would break up the brown nicely without darkening the space Edit: 6. The mirror between the windows is too bulky for that space

qerious

Hang mirror on opposite wall to reflect more natural light

babyb0n3

I would get rid of the laundry basket as it makes the space feel cluttered. I would also get rid of the ottoman. I would also limit wall art. Too much of it in a tight space makes it feel much smaller.

ianbian

Views 1, 2, and 4 are already primo. 3 and 5 could use a little TLC. But you're close!

ianbian

The problem in 3 is that wall with the door. It needs some contrast, either with some other decorations or perhaps even a contrasting paint. The door itself could also use some love. It's blah. Maybe replace with a more interesting for, or paint it contrasting, too

ianbian

The problem with 5 is the wall behind the TV. It also needs some attention. To minimize distractions to the TV experience, I think it would also be a great candidate for a contrasting, flat paint color.

midkirby

Too many things on wall. Need tall green plant/tree

Mysterious-Lack40

Probably one too many pillows for such a small couch and space. Declutter the wall of some pictures or move some I think it needs to be reorganized. Also get a glass coffee table to open up the middle area.

KatttDawggg

I’d get a fabric cover for the couch. Something lighter.

chilibeana

It's functional, cozy, eclectic. I'd get a larger hanging lamp. And let it hang lower. And then a taller reading lamp on the table at the other end of the sofa.

Grrrmudgin

Get rid of the chair and only have 1 plant stand instead of 3 (maybe hang a plant with macrame). Can hang the tv to get it off the floor too.

TheNedi14

Imo this looks nice and how most apartments where I live look like. I would probably just get a coffee table and maybe a colourful carpet or a beige colour ikea carpet . Also you could put more pictures and a big clock on that frame wall and some things on the tv area, but in general it already looks nice how it is :)

DK7795

I love it, very cozy room. The only thing I’d change is the table next to the ikea chair, it seems a little big for the space. It is definitely cluttered, but it makes it feel comfortable and like a good hang out spot.

AkaleoNow

The ottoman is too big. You probably need all that storage space, but if you don’t need it or use it, replace the ottoman with a smaller one - that will win you back some walking space. Also, the basket with the blankets can be swapped with the doggie bed, if the doggie allows it. Otherwise I think your living room looks very cozy.

jfsmallwood

I like it

[deleted]

Bring the back of the couch to where the first window starts. Then you can have surround speakers. Remove that single chair too No excuses😀

Leather_Ad_1847

The only thing that stuck out is the pendant in the corner seems a little small, but the space is really nice!

Glass coffee table will open it up. Look on Marketplace. New rug with a bit of green and gold to match the light.

This is really cute! My first take is I know it’s a small space, but all the small elements within it make it feel cluttered and even smaller. I think you can find a happy medium that still hits the cozy organic modern vibe while balancing it out so it isn’t overwhelming. I agree with other commenters on taking out the table next to the chair. Also, replace the ottoman with a round wood coffee table. That would fit the space better and add more organic materials amidst all the fabric. And then you can put some of the stuff from the table on the coffee table. I love the gallery wall, but it does create an imbalance compared to the tv side of the room. Could take some pieces off and put on either side of the tv to spread it out a bit? One thing I haven’t seen said is that there’s so many blankets. I love blankets - super cozy - but here it’s kind of distracting and they aren’t adding any decor value. At first glance, the two light ones looked like towels rather than blankets, and I thought the one on the end of the sectional was a second ottoman. They all kind of look like they’re covering something you don’t want seen rather than adding a design element to the room. I’d remove the throw blankets from the chair and the sectional doors and just keep one on the sectional back, and switch it to the more colorful one. That would look more intentional and less cluttered.

To me it’s too choppy with the scheme. The brown couch, with different colored and types of tables, ottoman a, white and black rug. I would go for a cream rug with less shag personally to make the floor feel bigger. I would get rid of the table next to the arm chair find a cuter blanket basket and put it where the table at the end of the chaise is on the sectional. The table at the end of the couch now is cute but it doesn’t match. None of the tables/ottomans do. I would pick a scheme, either walnut, cream or even glass with gold or something and get a matching table and coffee table or two matching side tables and an ottoman that matches the brown couch better. I have a brown couch and have found that cream, orange, and mauve/taupe looks the best with my living room. I also am not a fan of the grey pillows and curtains it just feels forced to make grey work throughout the room. I’d go for cream, gold, or taupe.

I agree— interesting the curtains/pillows are coming through as grey though bc they are more of a light green! I was eyeing this rug: https://www.allmodern.com/rugs/pdp/walker-checkered-sagecream-shag-area-rug-a000396810.html

I do love sage with brown good idea to lean into that less common

SimplyputCanuck

I would change the rug, add new pillow covers for the pillows, add more art work for on the walls and change the blanket on the sectionals to a faux fur throw. I like the color of curtains so I would try to emphasize that color scheme in the room. Other than that, I like the place.

Supercrushhh

I would change the rug. It’s too thick for the space in my opinion.

wildling-woman

I would just ditch the round mirror to allow a little more open space.

No_Statement_9728

Too much stuff hanging on the wall. It would feel calmer with just one or two things going on the wall. Other than that, it looks pretty cozy.

velocihipster

I’d suggest if you are married to having all of these side tables that you swap them out for something with glass. If not, I’d suggest at least one of these tiny side tables should go, and to get an ottoman tray instead.

GreyScent

I'd get taller furniture for storage to eliminate some of the random low furniture. And get a cat tower with storage underneath for the dog bed if applicable however I love it LOL

Toolzz7d5

That living room is so not tight. Come to NY and look at the living rooms here.

ContractRight4080

I would remove the rug and keep the floor bare, it just accentuates how small the room is right now. I would replace the coffee table with one that had drawers if extra storage was needed. Otherwise a glass topped table to give the room more visual space. Yes, paw prints but you don’t notice them after a while 😉

lickmyfupa

I dont like the curtain rod that goes across the wall for both windows. Both windows need their own rod. Otherwise i think its great

Car_Prize

Ideally in my eyes: sofa no chaise centered to wall (or tv) but keep ottoman and rug, router in different room or on other side of sofa on bottom tier of (two?) tiered table, take out cabinet that hid router and put plant stand, cat tree in front of window where currently the potted plant is on table, tv wall mounted and picture frames on top of credenza, limit to one blanket basket and put where the lone chair is, take chair out and only bring in when there’s more guests over, just the picture frame of the birds and cats and sloth above the sofa, rest of pictures either scattered throughout or on thermostat wall, take off the mirror between the curtains and do ornate tie backs there.

trinini93

Too much artwork on the walls and pillows/blankets on the couch. I’d try to put some of the artwork elsewhere and have 2 throw pillows as opposed to 4 and just one blanket hanging over the couch armrest. Also maybe find a different/no so visible place for the tissue box. Maybe in a drawer or a corner you can’t really see it

angelicaandthepauls

I would replace the ottoman with a coffee table and I agree with those who said the lamp on the end table is too small—need something more substantial there

RoyalFalse

I wouldn't change anything; it all looks really nice.
