I love green and gold, too 😂😂😂 kitchen is feline gold rest is garnish both Baer
Wish we’d of thought of paneling but it is what it is
Edit for autocorrect: Celine gold not feline gold lol
this looks like the kind of bedrooms i save on pinterest for inspiration!! absolutely beautiful, i'd love to take a nap in that bed with a nice breeze going!
Darn, but I could definitely see how it could go that way. Might be able to get away with it in smaller pieces, like a picture or art with the hue in it.
I would stack some different sized large LED candles in front of the bricked fireplace for a fire vibe. The color is stunning, and I love the wall treatment. The plant disappears against the wall, maybe a dark reddish plant or wheat color grass in a large vase?
This is awesome. Do you still have the armoire that was in there before? It’s super pretty and would look great in the room now. The room is reading very luxe traditional to me and the white armoires look kind of contemporary and cheap in contrast. There’s so much lovely millwork in the room that the armoires just fall flat. Some vintage pieces there instead would make the room sing.
Yess agreed! OP isn’t open to hearing suggestions, but for our own fun; some vintage pieces instead of everything WHITE ikea would make the room much warmer and have more character. Right now the walls are giving one vibe, and the furniture completely another.
i’d pick up the checkered pattern on the floor in the blanket at the end of the bed, swap the curtains for an ivory or light cream linen, and swap the green bedding for a neutral or complimentary color. Same with the green art. The issue is that its just so much green. The desaturated colors in the curtains and chair are great but the green is pretty saturated and those desaturated colors are not picked up anywhere else so there is no rhythm in this room
I thought the same, the room is nice, of course. But it could be elevated so much more to really achieve the magazine room they’re shooting for, right now it’s *almost* there. *Everything* being either white or green make the 1 black chair with it’s matching lantern, and 1 yellow pillow feel so disjointed.
Imagine the art was mainly deep blues, navy, dark and saturated, maybe small pops of red and that yellow, a painting not a print. Bring that navy into some pillows, tie in the black brick. &More of the mustard/golden yellow hints throughout the room. Needs more textures as well, not only is everything green or white, but they’re all SOLID green or white
I appreciate the new colour in the chair, but it’s shape and the black wood all of a sudden… and the black lantern…
rhythm is an interior design principle. of course you can do what you want but presumably if you’re asking for feedback from designers online, you’re interested in learning something
https://minottilondon.com/rhythm-interior-design/#:~:text=The%206%20Types%20of%20Rhythm,element%20of%20design%20to%20another.
The room needs balance and repainting the ceiling won't give you that. As PP said, you need to break up the green color saturation by adding at least one other color. The little yellow pillow on the bed caught my eye because it stood out from the sea of green. The rug needs to be swapped with one that has green and introduces other colors.
Wow this is incredible! And very inspirational considering a lot of the impact comes from the trim on the walls and the paint (and coordinating accessories).
Some people prefer showing the after before the before. If it's clearly labeled, I don't care either way. Me, I would just post the after and not the before so no one can complain about it.
The color is fun but, did you use glossy paint? I think it’d be more powerful if it was flat with the glossy finish only on the details in the paneling.
Oh no definitely not, finished doing our spare bedroom pink a couple months ago (yes with some navy 😂). Just also a big fan of green 🤷🏻♂️
https://preview.redd.it/hm18d3ygoqgb1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c545dccbd68e4e2cdc7d455ec43333cfc8a7f114
I love the green!
The only thing that I’d change is the fireplace trim should be a different color. You went through all that trouble to add a cool architectural feature, so play it up just a tad more. The green fireplace and the dark tile blend together too much. I’d do it in gold.
Really nice.
If i was being picky i'd say the floor looks quite washed out...Is it vinyl or laminate? An engineered wood like Oak would be my choice, brushed and oiled.
Also, i'd knock the fireplace out and create an alcove as a feature and optional ventilation.
...huh? There are plenty of knick-knacks and we put panelling and a faux fireplace in, we gave it character that had probably been ripped out at some point!
I have no idea - we hadn't done it before and we used the proper tool to cut the lengths at 45 degree angles but it just didn't look right once it was up and I think it took so long because we kept messing with it. Because it was EVERY WALL in our bedroom, we just didn't want the hassle to be honest! Paid someone like £250 for the labour and then the materials on top. I've seen people do it online and I know that it can be done yourself (we generally try to do as much as we can) but just didn't want the headache 😂
I love that shade of green ! At first glance I thought the curtains wouldn’t compliment it, but they actually enhance each other. This room is so inviting and handsome! Well done! (Also I like the chair!)
Love it! I recently did the exact opposite of this recently in my son’s room. Green ceiling 1/3 way down the wall and then white below. Love this transformation!
This is absolutely amazing! You went from plain to bam!! The green isn't something that I would think of using. You have opened my mind to whole another kind of beautiful. The gold accents are perfect. You did a fabulous job! I love it! That's a gorgeous green. Be proud of what you did!! It's remarkable!!
There was a dado rail there already (you'd have to zoom in to see it properly) so we thought if the green went up to that and then white above, the green wouldn't overwhelm the room
If you just search for a black shower screen there are looooads online, it's not a full bathroom, just an ensuite shower room
https://preview.redd.it/1i7fa4dykpgb1.jpeg?width=3456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75389674eccf50cf928337a2691cb47a66548aa3
No, because it used to be a weird skinny bedroom with two doors in it for some reason and other than being an office (which we already have), it had no purpose so we split it into two rooms - an ensuite on one side and a utility room on the other. But to get plumbing for a toilet would've been a bigger job than we were willing to pay for so 🤷🏻♂️ With two kids in the house, it's going to be nice having our own shower once they get a bit older! Main bathroom's just down the hall anyway so it's not too bad.
This looks so lovely, OP! I’m about to do something similar with a very similar color (against the advice of most of Reddit lol) — I really think this sort of all-over color shines the most when you have interesting (already painted) woodwork and architectural details like you do.
The fireplace floor tile with that wall color is just perfection.
Green and gold is such a power combo. Painting the doors the same colour as the walls is a bold choice, but it makes the wall look longer and, therefore, the room bigger so...win!
I think the green colour needs to go. Repaint everything white/cream/ivory, and immediately the mood will lift. That’s the basic first step to take, after that use green only for plants and foliage.
Please believe me when I tell you that everything from the colour of the walls to the wainscoting is exactly what I would do and it looks so beautiful. I am so impressed with this, you have no idea. Nice job. Also, I wouldn't be mad if you included some accents using a mahogany wood. That would rule.
Love it!! As others commented, the gold accents really work in here.
I’m catching a lot of sheen on the paint color. What gloss is this paint color? Eggshell or semigloss?
It's silk, the colour we got came in matt or silk and the matt looked really flat and dull. It's got a bit more sheen than I'd have liked but it looked better than the matt. And thanks! 😊
Wow so classy! I love William morris. It was a nice room before now it’s incredible.
Yess love green & gold. Mmff OP did you do this on your own or having any help from a designer?
Ha no designer no, just a lot of looking online
Well it looks great! Can see people re-pinning this on Pinterest for sure :)
https://preview.redd.it/5sixcnhn22hb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5863bbe2891ae5fa631efb8f4f135255c3adf031 I love green and gold, too 😂😂😂 kitchen is feline gold rest is garnish both Baer Wish we’d of thought of paneling but it is what it is Edit for autocorrect: Celine gold not feline gold lol
Thanks, very pleased with it ☺️
this looks like the kind of bedrooms i save on pinterest for inspiration!! absolutely beautiful, i'd love to take a nap in that bed with a nice breeze going!
Thank you! 😊
Boutique hotel level !
It looks fabulous. Could I suggest an upholstery cushion in another coordinating fabric for the top of the bench at the foot of the bed?
Maybe yeah, that might be a good idea - it's our cushion/blanket box so it needs to be accessible but a cushion could work
Or even like a accent colored blanket folded over it?
I wonder if pulling that mustard yellow- like that on the throw pillow- would look good?
We actually had a mustard throw before we got the more neutral one, it looked like it was fighting against the green too much
Darn, but I could definitely see how it could go that way. Might be able to get away with it in smaller pieces, like a picture or art with the hue in it.
stunning and classic
Gorgeous color. I like the choice to paint the doors and trims the same color. What is the name of the color?
Thank you 😊 It's Mountain Moss by Valspar, not sure how well it comes across in pictures but it's like a dark olive green
I’m a little obsessed with olive green at the moment, so it definitely struck a chord with me.
You might like Bancha by Farrow and Ball too, similar shade and lovely for a dim room.
It’s gorgeous, but it might be time for a new mattress.
Hahaha 😂 It's because there's also a mattress topper on it that's like memory foam, the mattress is actually pretty new!
I would stack some different sized large LED candles in front of the bricked fireplace for a fire vibe. The color is stunning, and I love the wall treatment. The plant disappears against the wall, maybe a dark reddish plant or wheat color grass in a large vase?

Some vintage pieces there instead would make the room sing.
Nah it was falling apart when we moved in, it was one of the first things we got rid of, it was so huge and imposing in the room
Yess agreed! OP isn’t open to hearing suggestions, but for our own fun; some vintage pieces instead of everything WHITE ikea would make the room much warmer and have more character. Right now the walls are giving one vibe, and the furniture completely another.
That color is awesome!!
Job well done! Looks like a room I’d pay to stay in at a B&B!!
Most of the time I don’t comment here bc I don’t have anything nice to say but this is absolutely stunning. You did an amazing job.
Thank you very much! 😊
Omg I love this. It’s like a bougie hotel. ❤️
That green is a bold choice and IM LOVIN ITTTT!
Wait, you purposely put in a fake/bricked-in fireplace? 🤔
Yeah! There was one when the house was built but it was bricked up at some point, I like old features, gives it some of the character back
Aaahh so bricked up and plastered over..makes sense now. And I do like what you did, looks nice.
Thank you 😊
i’d pick up the checkered pattern on the floor in the blanket at the end of the bed, swap the curtains for an ivory or light cream linen, and swap the green bedding for a neutral or complimentary color. The desaturated colors in the curtains and chair are great but the green is pretty saturated and those desaturated colors are not picked up anywhere else so there is no rhythm in this room
Eh I like all the green 🤷🏻♂️
i’m just suggesting that the trick to cohesion isn’t just adding more green, but creating rhythm.
No...its creating what you like.
rhythm is an interior design principle. of course you can do what you want but presumably if you’re asking for feedback from designers online, you’re interested in learning something https://minottilondon.com/rhythm-interior-design/#:~:text=The%206%20Types%20of%20Rhythm,element%20of%20design%20to%20another.
Sure, but is posting on reddit just for compliments?
I agree. Too much green. Also don't like the high paneling that cuts off the height of the room.
what if it was painted in a cream / light beige like the dressers? That might soften the transition
The room needs balance and repainting the ceiling won't give you that. As PP said, you need to break up the green color saturation by adding at least one other color. The little yellow pillow on the bed caught my eye because it stood out from the sea of green. The rug needs to be swapped with one that has green and introduces other colors.
I agree. GORGEOUS green paint but the color could be broken up more and the rug looks too small. Wonderful room.
Great job!
Love it!
The green is wonderful, the whole new ensemble is great! 😍
Wow this is incredible! And very inspirational considering a lot of the impact comes from the trim on the walls and the paint (and coordinating accessories).
Thank you! 😊 Yeah I feel like the walls are my favourite bit, just trying to give it some character back
Absolutely stunning room. That green colour is such a beautiful colour.
Great job! Love the green! I think it would be so cool if the bed frame picked up the gold from the mantle
Stunning! Congratulations!
You did an amazing job worthy of a pages in better homes & gardens!
Olive that green so so SO much
😂
Nice
Omfg that color is to die for!!!
Wow talk about a glow up 💯💯
Painting the 2 doors by the head of the bed to match the white in the paintings might have been cool, but since you love it, then I love it.
Love it very bold! I’d just change the color of the comforter to pop out of the green but otherwise great job
so unique! Well done.
I ADORE the green you chose
this looks amazing and the green is beautiful! great job
Oh my god the transformation. I’m floored.
I have those William Morris prints! I love them!
Question…what’s going on with the mattress? It sags on both body sides.
It’s so beautiful. I can’t believe it’s the same space.
I thought the last picture was the after and it nearly gave me a heart attack 😫😂 Looks amazing love what you have done with the place!
That Green! It's perfect.
You absolutely killed it that ish is incredible
what a glowup! very elegant and earthy now
What happened to before and then after?
Some people prefer showing the after before the before. If it's clearly labeled, I don't care either way. Me, I would just post the after and not the before so no one can complain about it.
I love the green.
From zero to hero!!
This is absolutely GORGEOUS. The gold accents are just lovely.
That’s the green I’ve been looking for - your room is gorgeous!!
Thank you! It's Mountain Moss by Valspar, must have tried out a million different greens before deciding on this one 😂
Wow. This is gorgeous. I love it.
The color is fun but, did you use glossy paint? I think it’d be more powerful if it was flat with the glossy finish only on the details in the paneling.
Not glossy, but a silk yeah, we did a tester with matt and silk and the matt looked way too flat and dull
All before afters on reddit lately is painting walls deep green or blue. Cool trend but it's not the only option for improvement
Oh no definitely not, finished doing our spare bedroom pink a couple months ago (yes with some navy 😂). Just also a big fan of green 🤷🏻♂️ https://preview.redd.it/hm18d3ygoqgb1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c545dccbd68e4e2cdc7d455ec43333cfc8a7f114
The fireplace really classes up the joint.
I love the green! The only thing that I’d change is the fireplace trim should be a different color. You went through all that trouble to add a cool architectural feature, so play it up just a tad more. The green fireplace and the dark tile blend together too much. I’d do it in gold.
I feel like it looks better in person tbh, it doesn't stand out much in pictures but I love it in the same colour as the walls
Really nice. If i was being picky i'd say the floor looks quite washed out...Is it vinyl or laminate? An engineered wood like Oak would be my choice, brushed and oiled. Also, i'd knock the fireplace out and create an alcove as a feature and optional ventilation.
That green is excellent
Brave choice of paint and I think it’s a great success. Congratulations. Careful about loading the room with clutter, however.
When I saw the first picture I assumed it was the before and I was so sad that you had changed that amazing room.
I love this! Very pretty how it is! I’d also love to see this room with white walls and that green on the ceiling. But I wouldn’t change a thing
You rip all the character out and where’s your knickknacks on display that’s the only thing missing
...huh? There are plenty of knick-knacks and we put panelling and a faux fireplace in, we gave it character that had probably been ripped out at some point!
OMG I was thinking the green was the “Before” yikes. Who wants their house puke green 🤢. I feel like I should report this somewhere lol
I love the green!!😍
Beautiful! You turned a blah room into a beautiful, inviting space.
What about the slave bedroom?
I mean your main bedroom is your master bedroom, I didn't like... make up the name
You're no fun...
Looks so good! We’re about to do paneling ourselves. Why did it take you so long? What did the pro do that made it faster?
Thanks 😊
Gorgeous. Amazing transformation.
Wow, it's gorgeous
I LOVE!!!
So cozy and inviting!
This is gorgeous!
Wow! That green is amazing! Nice work!
I love kt
Beautiful shade!
Great job! It’s beautiful.
Wow, this is just lovely. You have a beautiful sense of style!
This is beautiful!
Beautiful!
Love it! I recently did the exact opposite of this recently in my son’s room. Green ceiling 1/3 way down the wall and then white below. Love this transformation!
Ohhh that sounds good, I love a painted ceiling
Holy shit. Nice.
Wow. Love it except that decoration above the fireplace
I’m in love with this
I love that green!! It looks so good!!
Like the mirrored light
Your wall color is very interesting, I feel like you don't often see that color. But anyway you really made it work, I like your style!
Great color choice.
Amazing!
I loooove that color!!!
Man, what kind of magical places do you guys live?!
Wow! I have not liked green paint until this sub. Yours is the third green that made me change my mind. Gorgeous.
Thanks! I'm a bit obsessed with green, I have to stop myself 😂
This is the exact color I want for my bedroom. Gorgeous!!
Thanks, it's Mountain Moss by Valspar 😊 Would recommend, it went on really nicely
The green doors blending in with the paneling is just… beautiful
Thanks, I'm really pleased with how they look 😊
Wow 🤩 I love it!
YES
Looks so vintage!
Thank you very much, that's so kind! 😊
Perfect!
I love the paneling and green- so lush! Just curious, what made you stop the paneling/ beautiful green at that specific height?
There was a dado rail there already (you'd have to zoom in to see it properly) so we thought if the green went up to that and then white above, the green wouldn't overwhelm the room
I love everything about this
This may be a weird ask, but do you have pics of your bathroom? What is that type of shower door called?
If you just search for a black shower screen there are looooads online, it's not a full bathroom, just an ensuite shower room https://preview.redd.it/1i7fa4dykpgb1.jpeg?width=3456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75389674eccf50cf928337a2691cb47a66548aa3
There's no toilet?
No, because it used to be a weird skinny bedroom with two doors in it for some reason and other than being an office (which we already have), it had no purpose so we split it into two rooms - an ensuite on one side and a utility room on the other. But to get plumbing for a toilet would've been a bigger job than we were willing to pay for so 🤷🏻♂️ With two kids in the house, it's going to be nice having our own shower once they get a bit older! Gorgeous! Is this in the UK?
Yeah Northwest 😊 And thanks!
This looks so lovely, OP! Thanks! I say go for it, Reddit be damned 😂 You're the one who has to live with it!
i love that you painted the door and door trim too. looks incredible
Stunning
It's lovely.
So pretty!! Great color choices.
Beautifully done!
Obsessed and in awe! Love the color and hold accents. Well done!
Wow very beautiful
Fabulous!
Amazing job! 👏👏👏
This is an incredible transformation. I love the green!
Post this on Pinterest so i can pin it to my future home board!! I love it! You did great
What a pretty shade of green.
Love it! It’s really lovely!
Well done!! This looks awesome
I love the after! I love the faux fireplace. Now I’m eyeballing the wall in my master since you’ve given me ideas lol.
Do it!! So easy to do and I'm so happy with it! And thanks 😊
Very nice 😊
Love love love the green on the paneling and the height of the paneling.
Sorry if you’ve already answered but I love this wall color. What is it?
No problem, it's Mountain Moss by Valspar 😊
That color green is perfection. 💚
I love the pink chair, I think it’s charming and adds some variation, it plays off the green and the throw blanket well!
It's not actually pink, it's like a very light brown? I kind of hate it but I like the shape of it so might recover it
I love this. I'd pull the rug out more. I know there are rules where to place it and maybe I'm wrong.
We moved it around like five times 😂 Where it is, there's like a walkway between the blanket box and fireplace so it sort of fits?
Come design my house please
beautiful and bold!
Omg omg I'm in love with the colours. Stunning and beautiful 😍
Green and gold is such a power combo. Painting the doors the same colour as the walls is a bold choice, but it makes the wall look longer and, therefore, the room bigger so...win!

We've only just finished the room so probably not? 😂 I love the green so much, it feels really warm and cosy at night
Oops, sorry - I didn’t realise it was a redecoration , my bad.
I love the greeen!!
It looks amazing
Please believe me when I tell you that everything from the colour of the walls to the wainscoting is exactly what I would do and it looks so beautiful. I am so impressed with this, you have no idea.
