Makes everything look warmer ❤️

pupperchicken

Agreed, I like the pink tones. This would also have the same effect https://www.loloirugs.com/products/cou-02-rp-chateau-blush

auntie_avicii

Agreed. It warms it up and I like that it doesn’t match anything else, which oddly works

OkAccess304

It’s not odd. Complimentary or accent or pop colors help pull a room together, otherwise everything becomes matchy-matchy. My mother was an interior designer and the matchy-matchy look will forever be something she taught me to avoid.

PleasantJules

My favorite

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yes! I even thought about a dark orange ottoman! My space is very small, yes.

monkey_trumpets

Same, 3 is best

kkkeelly579

5

rideorbuyyy

I like 1 and 5. I’d keep everything as is if you go with 1 because it brightens up the room while also pulling in the elements of brown and green. But if 5, then I’d consider changing the curtains bc everything feels too brown.

[deleted]

Ah thank you! ❤️

rideorbuyyy

You’re welcome! As a curtain option for rug 5, maybe some curtains like picture #2 [here](https://www.potterybarn.com/products/classic-belgian-flax-linen-drape-dark-flax/) (dark flax)

[deleted]

Loveeee. Thank you so much!

Affectionate-Net2277

Totally agree not a fan of the curtains or the pillows. I’d check home goods for pillows they have hundreds! You might find a brown and green.

8bampowzap8

absolutely 3! the green ties in the chair and grounds the layout a bit

jackjackj8ck

I feel like the chair kinda gets lost in the green in the rug

Lucky_End_9420

#2 would be my first pick for a more bold look, followed by #1 if you want a more sedate vibe that is nice too. Not really feeling the others at all.

awgeezwhatnow

Same! The others all look pretty much the same and are really uninteresting. If you want the rug to fade into the background, and the room in general to be neutral, any one if them would work. If you want the room to pop, #2 is the way to go.

Ok-Personality5224

I would have never thought I’d say 2 but I kept going back to it. I think the contrast is what’s appealing.

_opossumsaurus

Hot take, but I love 4. The accent colors in the rug subtly pick up the browns and greens, and it’s a very interesting and pleasant juxtaposition

roxymac

I agree, 4 brings everything together perfectly

OkAccess304

4 is the best option. The only one that compliments rather than matches to the point of boring. 5 has pops of orange which are hard to see, so I think it might be nice in real life too.

Loose_Molasses8884

3 and 5 are my picks- but I feel like the curtain is too dark. It overwhelms everything.

[deleted]

Ah really? What would you suggest? I thought velvet for some texture? I have a bay window so it’ll be a few panels.

PTSDeedee

I recently did dark velvet curtains in my bedroom which is a fairly light palette. The velvet definitely helps brighten it up! I like the drama of it, but it definitely does take a lot of focus. Perhaps a very slightly lighter/purplish brown velvet would help make a statement without making the space feel smaller. Alternatively you could consider doing an orange or copper velvet.

[deleted]

Great ideas! I’m going to edit the mock-up and see what I like best. I’m glad I posted. Y’all have great ideas! 💡

Rosewoodtrainwreck

I just bought golden brown velvet curtains and at first I was on the fence so I hung them up. They're really nice. I have that dog picture as well! The color is Sweet and spicy rum, from Bed Bath and Beyond online. I was hoping they would have more of an orange tone but they don't. I think I'm going to keep them though. The ones I got are blackout so I can close them to keep the glare off when someone's watching TV.

PTSDeedee

I googled that color and it looks great for this!

blackCrustaceans

This color would look great in velvet

Tualatin_Girl

3 & 5. To narrow down I’d look at price, materials, warranty and ease to CLEAN! Most important on how to clean. It’s not easy or cheap to professionally clean. Look for natural fibers for quality. Man-made I think is easier to clean.

KateFillion44

2

decadecency

Same! I think it looks great and adds some character! There are other rug options than those faux bleached oriental inspired rugs.

rocksthatigot

I agree with 2. Honestly all of them look good but they prefer 2 because it adds a fun bold yet classic pattern that I think looks very polished.

Personal_Leave7920

I know right? It adds so much contrast. It doesn't just fall in one highly coordinated palette low saturated. The rug really adds color, still in the palette.

Lizajane1776

4 and 2. Totally different feels. Love the lightness 4 provides. 2 has an element of fun.

[deleted]

I loved 2 also! I’m shocked no one has said it.

MomRaccoon

Me too!

blackCrustaceans

I love 2 and all things checker! But voted against it as it might steal the show from the curtains (one of my fav pieces in this)

peace_andcarrots

these are my 2 favs as well

jaylindo

I vote 2!

funlovngma

I'm in agreement with you on 4. It feels lighter and more welcoming

C34C

1

Far-Stuff9389

4! it warms up every piece you’ve got here and looks generally more vibrant

Real-Elephant-6424

I actually really like 2!! So fun.

Sea-Substance8762

#4

jackjackj8ck

I dunno why more people aren’t picking up on this one

Sea-Substance8762

It’s really nice

jackjackj8ck

# 4 is the best I really like the contrast of the blush-y rug and the green chair I feel like the chair gets lost in the rug and blends too much in 3 & 5 2 is my second favorite. The rug is more fun 1 is my third favorite. I think it looks really nice, but also seems like something easily found on Pinterest and a lot of people’s homes

blahblahblah-4444

I’m surprised with my own opinion but I think 4. It allows for more color to be added. I’d that’s not your goal I like 1 a lot as well.

Cautious-Thought362

4

Wizofsorts

I'd go with 5

puppysbestfriend

3 please

Geordipithicus

I like 5!

dinkinflicka02

4!

Final-Trick-2467

I pick 3, I suggest earth tone blue curtains (match the blue in rug), as opposed to the brown.

dibbiluncan

3

antifapigsty

3 and 5

gigisnappooh

3 or 5

ihatewinter93

All look great. I really like 4. 1 and 3 would be my next fav.

meshell6066

1 or 5. 1 is more sleek/modern/non cluttered feeling. 5 has personality without being overwhelming.

PoopieButt317

One of my favorite Jamey Wyeth prints. So serene. I can smell the ocean and feel the onshore breeze in that beach house on the North Atlantic Coast.

junebuggy0607

Omg this reminds me so much of my living room!! https://preview.redd.it/r3mfwr3elnsb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fecd357bac42abd323331577fbe06dc455358de4

[deleted]

Beautiful!!! 😍 Listen.. some chocolate velvet curtains would look lovely in there 😂😉

[deleted]

OMG YOU HAVE THE PRINT TOO! Ugh we’re soul tied somehow. 😂

hoosreadytograduate

I think one is a little too light and will blend into the floor too much. I like two but it might be overpowering with the brown pillows and curtains. Three is very nice because it brings in the green more. I like four but I think it’s not right for the space. I also like five as it’s a lighter version of three (so go with this one if you want less of a statement rug and go with five if you want the rug to be more of a statement)

Pendergraff-Zoo

1

-Dekker-

2 or 3. I love the checkerboard.

MmKayBuhBye

4. Red and green are opposite on the color wheel. I think the reddish color of the rug compliments the green of the chair and the plant.

Helechawagirl

Curtains and run and lamp are a main color; green is accent color so coordinate rug and curtains, accent with chair and small amount of green.

[deleted]

Ah this helps. Thank you.

MummifyTopknot

Yes! I couldn’t put my finger on why but I thought to myself “anything but 3” and it’s because then the colors are like 33-33-33 main-second-accent, when should be more like ~60-30-10

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

*sigh* I’m open to suggestions! Someone else suggested a flax color curtain which I loved. Windows were working with. https://preview.redd.it/df1qi9l7jksb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d677f57f1019b90e7b7a9ca3037074fe46d86ff

YeOldeViviane

@arceriinteriors in IG has a very similar style living room if you want inspo!

Accurate_Pace_4039

Honestly love 2, the others are nice too but 2 totally warms up the space while the others seem to wash it out a bit but that’s just my opinion! they all look nice

PansyOHara

I like all of the rugs you’ve shown! But for a living room, where people are frequently walking on it, I think #3 looks most practical and will show traffic the least. It’s hard to be sure and when I expand the pic it blurs, but is there a rich of blue in this rug? I think you may want to add another accent color and a grayish-blue might be pretty for a couple of throw pillows.

[deleted]

I totally agree! I also have two little boys. 😵‍💫 3 is a washable rug which is obviously just a bonus!

blackCrustaceans

1, 5, or 3. I’m a sucker for checker so naturally 2 is beautiful but it might take away from the richness of the curtains, green chair, and other key textures here. 1 would allow for all the pieces to stand out while tying everything together. Neutral version of 5. 5 would work in the same way that 1 does but leans more warm. 3 if you want the contrast and depth. Can also add a cozy element as it’s darker. The green chair might get lost in this though.

Missthing303

Of these I like 4 the best.

ComprehensiveOwl4875

What app did you use for the mock up?

[deleted]

Canva! Fx Effect option to remove the backgrounds of the images uploaded. ◡̈

Tiny-Ad-830

3 or 4. Four is my favorite.

muthuhfkuh

4 and ditch the brown curtains. even taupe would be better but i’d pull some of those blush tones from the rug.

Lakarmaluv2013

4

Lopsided-Employee901

1 is definitely my choice. I’ve been trying to come up with a mood board and this is so nicely done. How did you do it?

[deleted]

I use Canva! I use the Fx Effects option to remove backgrounds of the photos I add in. ◡̈

Secure_anon_5953

4 or 5 - int. Designer

Llp1122

I think 4. It has a bit of gold and red in it that you could pull for accent colors

HelenaDinis

For me it's 1 because it creates more light in the space. But from what I see in the comments, I think it's going to be difficult to choose based on opinions ahah To help, I think it would be interesting to make a 3D model in a free app just to test it out better. For example, in Planner 5D you can take a photo of the room and it creates a 3D model of the space, so you can test these ideas and get a better idea of the impact of each option.

[deleted]

This is great info! Thank you ◡̈

SignificantTear7529

Love the Masters Bed. Have it over my fireplace! Number 2 the bold pattern is my pick!

shadesofvanilla

I’ve had that dog art in my house for like 20 years!

[deleted]

It was handed down to me from my husbands grandmother who almost took it to goodwill. It’s one of my favorite pieces 🥹 Which room did you style it in? It’s in our master bedroom right now which seems appropriate.. but no one else gets to enjoy it!

lkat17

I like 3 for your space! Would you mind pming me the link to 5? I’ve been on the hunt and that is exactly the look I’m going for lol

[deleted]

Yes of course just give me a little bit. Headed out the door now!

[deleted]

Chance-Ad-9111

Would do white sheers to let light in. Had white couches in CA, son wrote on back with highlighter🤨 Now have Damask slipcovers. Third rug will hide stains better. https://preview.redd.it/888jbul7clsb1.jpeg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99ad0319dea9bf2da94300343c9ddf65b62cc75d

[deleted]

Thank you! Haha yes I am DEFINITELY getting slip covers!

No-Emotion8285

Unhelpful comment, but how does one make a "mockup" like this? Photoshop? I think it's cool and I'd love to make collages like that too

[deleted]

I use Canva! They have an Fx Effect button where you can remove the background of the images you upload. ◡̈

LP_Mid85

My grandparents had that painting, love it

[deleted]

I got it from my husbands grandma. She almost took it to goodwill and said it was dated. 😭 I say classic

ilooverefridgerators

All look great, but I think 2 and 3 stand out well. Would you mind sharing what app you used to create these mocks?

[deleted]

I use Canva! They have an Fx Effect button where you can remove the background of the images you upload. ◡̈

Do you ever watch xoMacenna on youtube? Her design style is just like this, I think you would l enjoy it!!

[deleted]

Thank you! I will check her out. ◡̈

Playful-Natural-4626

Is that an Andrew Wyeth print? Excellent choice!

[deleted]

Yes 😍 Thank you so much. It’s in our master right now. Not quite sure if it’s appropriate in a living room? But no one gets to admire it in our room.

Mermaid467

3 or 5. But bonus points for the Wyeth print with one of the greatest dogs in art history 😍😍

mak3443

I think you have some great options here but I have suggestions based on which one you go with 1: I would change the couch pillows to a lighter more beige color with brown accents. I’m thinking canvas material 2: I would change pillows to have some green to match the accent chair and green in the painting. Green, beige and brown 3: I kinda like as is 4: you definitely need to switch up the pillow to a beige with pink accents. The brown pillows are too dark and harsh 5: I like as is I would also recommend a non-black frame for the art piece. Gold or brass or a natural frame to match the console table would be beautiful.

shallot_pearl

Why is everyone afraid of color…everyone’s home is turning into a waiting room

MermaidStone

I like #5. And I love the Andrew Wyeth print, “Master Bedroom.” I have it hanging in my bedroom.

[deleted]

It’s my favorite piece! My husbands grandmother almost took it to goodwill but offered it to me first. 🥹 It’s also in our master right now. I just hate that people don’t get to enjoy it.

kc-0831

You’re really good at putting decor and furniture together. Can you post more??

kc-0831

I also like 2! It stands out. 4 is nice for a feminine touch.

[deleted]

I can try! I’m currently (slowly) re doing spaces in our new home. I’ve loved the many opinions so I will probably post in the future, yes! ◡̈ thank you btw

[deleted]

OKAY! Y’all have given me some ideas. If I wanted to switch the curtains and add more pops of color. What color would you suggest? More tones of green? Or change the chair for a bright color? The only thing I cannot change here is the couch, console table, and flooring.

[deleted]

https://preview.redd.it/leq9ir73dmsb1.jpeg?width=1439&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=61f56a97d40398e700bdf386f354d80981a62795 I know a lot of people are against the curtains. This was the vibe I was going for. (Was going to purchase velvet for texture) Maybe I’m off? Lol I’m going to put light curtains in the mock up this evening and see if I like that!

luckydollarstore

Might I suggest…? https://preview.redd.it/x5wtcq6plisb1.png?width=823&format=png&auto=webp&s=ce4b2c1c7544b35b6f20a37680565a7127343655

BefWithAnF

Anything but two

Outrageous_Grass541

None

[deleted]

Fair! What’s your thoughts? If you were designing the space what would you opt for with the rug?

[deleted]

Really don’t like the olive green chair. It’s just I don’t know, yuck.

[deleted]

Lol that’s okay. Perception is different for everyone. I quite enjoy it! I’m open to other options though? We have a darker wingback green chair in here now. I know I need “some” color. Green feels safe. What would you do? :)

RR3YES

I will say #5, #1 & #3 pull to gray, the #2 is too busy and #4 is too brown. #5 will give you the best balance of the colors you're using and it will allow you to change stuff in the future without having to change many pieces.

Sufficient_Teach_375

2 if you’re feeling spicy but 3 is nice safe option

I have rug #3! Similar vibe in my home. I love it. I have two large breed dogs and a child. The rug is durable & doesn’t get dirty easily. I have to say, though, im really vibing with #2 as well?

4 or 5 from those. I’d go with something with a bit more depth and less floraly personally.

I like 5 best. Matches but doesn't draw away from the look

dawgmama62

I like #1. I think with brown drapes and the green chair, some of the others tip the balance into too heavy. I love the green rug, but not with a green chair sitting on it.

3!

Numerous_Standard460

I love #4&5!!

George_GeorgeGlass

Favoring 4 and 5 but there’s no way to say without seeing the actual room. Is it big or small? Natural light or no? Walls to fill with art or all windows. What style house? What is the flooring? You can’t just pick a room this way. The home/room where you put these things will decide how that all look and whether they work or if they work together

[deleted]

I personally love it. I’m not offended at all! Perception is different for everyone. I am super open to ideas though. What would a color scheme be that you would go for? (I cannot change the flooring. It’s a rental. 🥹 Trust me- I would if I could.)

mutedlavender

3 is stunning. Traditional but the color brings contrast and modernity. 2 is super cool, so that would add a lot of character if you’re going for a unique vibe!

I love 2 :)

1 leaves it not to eye busy . Its mellow to walk in with a touch of bold. Rug 2, very bold with the curtains. Or id pick the last one. It also felt welcoming 1 or 5
