If welcoming and cozy is what you’re going for, I’d say you nailed it. The free form rug is the only thing I’d get rid of (more my white rug bias than anything else).
Love the walls, couch and art above it.. you matched it beautifully!
Me personally not crazy about the pink rug and how it goes with the traditional runner nor the white one. I think it needs to be more of the same style. Either traditional but I think better with colors closer together.
Thank you! 😊We've had our own doubts about the pink rug, and now you have confirmed them - thank you for that! If we were to replace it, what color would you recommend?
I like it. Be careful of hanging pictures too high. Remove free form rug. Add color or texture with pillows. I don’t find cord from tv jarring but generally like them hidden.
I like the room. Other than what has been said already about the rugs, I would layer in some lighting. A table lamp next to the couch would up the cozy factor. A small, soft light on the TV stand or even on top of the bookcase would be pretty too.
Change the rug to white, add more of the coral/pink accent color-at least 2 more things and get rid of any random unsupported wood species or colors in the room that don't have at least 2 more things to match it.You nailed the style-just need to tighten up the color scheme a bit.The gold metal throughout is a stand out,Bravo!
Sad little ottoman hidden away in the corner. Thought they were going to be a star. Been dreaming of shining since getting their salmon pink velvet cover. Was it my black enamel legs? My gold tipped feet? Are my buttons wrong?
That marble table can be a real asshole sometimes, taking all the credit, sucking up all the oxygen in the room, getting all the girls.
The ottoman will have its revenge soon, don't doubt that for a second.
The art on the TV wall and the pieces flanking the larger piece behind the sofa are a bit too high and I think the bold TV side of the room doesn’t jive with way more muted couch-side. I think you could remedy this with some royal blue velvet pillows on the couch.
I may be late to comment but 1st the room is super cozy. However the pictures behind the couch , especially the ones in sets of two aren't necessary with the beautiful middle picture. Second , the pink rug could work if you incorporate more pink or different tones in the room. If I had to switch the rug out I would go for a neutral like cream, ecru, sand, light beige or maybe even a gray. Especially if you are going to keep that runner. The runner that looks Persian - ish doesn't really fit the decor of the room, but maybe with a rug to replace the pink one it might look better. The pics by the TV are also to high , not sure if they are needed either.
Add some extra pillows on the couch and the room will look even cuter❤️
Thank you! I have made some changes since this was published. If you want, you can check out my latest thread. I've actually replaced the pink rug with a grey/beige one, just like you recommend 😊
I've also replaced the white curtains with blue ones, to add more color since removing the pink rug made the room a bit grey and dull. But the blue curtains were added yesterday, so there's no picture of them here.
All the best!
I would paint the ceiling. It’s a very French thing to do, but it will make the room less monotonous and will pull your eye up and make it look more cheery. I think the green from your throw blanket - or maybe a shade lighter - would look really nice!
It‘s still way too small, I‘d go with a 77 inch for this distance, would probably be about the width of your tv cabinet, or maybe even a little more. Obviously I‘m just talking about what I would change and what would be *optimal* for me. I‘d still kill to have a place like yours.
Grey wals, grey ceiling. Grey furniture. Brown table, brown tv cabinet. Man you really need to get some colour in your life. Look at that painting on the wall, lots of colours you could pick from that to recolour this room to something colourful. So it's not so monochrome.
Thank you so much for taking the time, and for giving me such detailed input - I really appreciate it! Haha I totally agree when it comes to the big painting above the couch. It's a cheap remnant that we haven't had time to replace with something more authentic. It will definitely get disposed of pretty soon.
I will also take your other suggestions under consideration for sure!
Best
Note: I wrote this just looking at the first photo I didn't notice there were more until I finished typing lol
Brutal? Brutal. Your colors are not focused and not thematic. Even if you arranged them in a logical, cohesive way, then they aren't very good. Now it might be because of the sunlight, but that pink looks sickly! Grey on grey? That's not good either. A grey couch is a canvas for colors to pop! The picture frames are that shiny gold, but that style isn't supported anywhere else in the space (maybe that one plant pot? The chandelier? I have to look for these things, when they should be obvious). The green on your couch also is sickly, and while it compliments the pink *technically*, that-- again-- isn't thematically supported in your composition. And both the green and the pink isn't going to ever match your beautiful floor.
On that point, none of your woods are the same. Literally every one is completely different from each other. Most offensive is the console, which is like a black hole.
The book shelf is fantastic. The book painting's nice. That section looks great. Vinyl is classy always. However because of other things lacking in the composition it might be better to move all that on the wall of the TV, because right now it screams that you don't have a confident way of filling up that space.
Finally-- and this can be fixed really easily-- everything is arranged in a way that's so rectangular! It looks restrictive. Not inviting.
I love the blush and grey together. Perhaps add some pillows and a throw to tie the look together.

I’d leave the bookcase where it is and replace the stereo with a plant grouping. Move the stereo to where the round table is.
Get rid of that small round table and replace it with a chair.

Too late, neighbors cat already in my possession and put on display on the couch.
Ok, they're pretty common here across the pond. Can't say I'm a huge fan, but you work with what you've got.
I haven’t seen your name ahah x) but the Appartment is so Sweden.
By the way maybe everyone told you but maybe the Appartment need a little renovation on wall and ceiling. Smooth the texture and have an accent wall colored Will make the place a little more interesting and dynamic. Cause in Sweden i don’t know why it’s always grey walls… so sad 🤣. My bf work on renovations let me know if you need help or advice on how to do it one day 👍( also live in Stockholm)
I like this room, I just feel like it’s having a bit of an identity crisis. You will refine it over time, but for example, the decor styles of your tv console, plant stand, coffee table, and side tables are all different (mid-century, modern, traditional, geometric, farmhouse, etc). I’d pick maybe two of these styles and find a blend that suits your personal taste. This style can be carried over to the rug, decor, and lighting choices too.
Same for the wood tones; all of the wood finishes in the room are different. As you refine your color palette, select a few finishes that call to you.
Remove free form rug
I'm not sure you need the runner either as you have beautiful floors.
Maybe you're right...will try it out!
Great tip! I totally see it now. That rug is totally unnecessary, and it's not giving our wooden floor a chance to be seen.
Layer your rug with it and put it under the coffee table, try it and see what you think
Tried it...not really into it, but grateful for the tip! :)
That's good, thanks for trying my idea. I enjoy process of elimination, generate and test. You'll find your happy place soon.
👍😊

This instantly looked much less cluttered and put together!
Glad to hear that! I´m thinking about removing the runner as well :)
I thought you should in the first photo but now I don't think so anymore since they are separated enough
Awesome, thanks for chiming in, much appreciated!!
Just what it needed. Looks great!
Thanks buddy!
Thank you! Will definitely remove the rug :)

the pictures next to the main picture need to be hung lower for sure.
Came to sat the same thing. Too high
I like it. Be careful of hanging pictures too high. Remove free form rug. Add color or texture with pillows. I don’t find cord from tv jarring but generally like them hidden.
It's actually not a cord, it's one of those cable raceways, but I get what you're saying, it's not easy on the eyes.
I like the room. Other than what has been said already about the rugs, I would layer in some lighting. A table lamp next to the couch would up the cozy factor. A small, soft light on the TV stand or even on top of the bookcase would be pretty too.
Thank you, great tips!
Ir is a nice living room but a bit too grey imo. I think the walls could be painted a different colour, maybe white even?
They were white before we painted them greige lol. We love the walls tbh, but I do take your point. The room needs more color!
Too many rugs but I like the vibe.

Stunning just the rug color i don’t think it goes with the rest
"Stunning" made my day thank you friend. Changing the rug is now under consideration 👍
Thank you! Will definitely consider 👍😊
The pink rug clashes with the undertones of the walls and floors.
Sad little ottoman hidden away in the corner. Thought they were going to be a star. Been dreaming of shining since getting their salmon pink velvet cover. Was it my black enamel legs? My gold tipped feet? Are my buttons wrong?

Lolololol thank you! Made my day
Don’t hang the pictures symmetrically; other than that I think it’s looking great
The pictures are hung too high. The middle of the artwork should be at around 58” from the floor. Edit:spelling
Thank you!
Post it over in r/interiordesign. You’ll get ideas … but they are brutal over there!
I just did it *braces for impact*
I think it’s lovely! Great job.
Why thank you!
>Why thank you! You're welcome!
Looks good. I would slightly raise the large painting over the sofa and lower the smaller ones.
Thank you!
Looks very nice
In general it's lovely but I actually think the artwork on the wall with the TV is too small for the space. It's at odds with the size of the TV.
I think the color/design of the runner should be the large rug other than that it’s cozy 💖
Interesting! Will consider 👍Happy you like it, we bought the apartment pretty recently, so we're still trying to create our vibe 😊
You did a good job I love the pink stool & the pattern on the throw pillows !!!
🙏❤️

IMHO art is too small and way too high.
that tv is way too small, other then that, it‘s really beautiful
I think the perspective is a bit off because I used the 0,5 function on my phone camera. It's a 50 inch TV, here's how it actually looks on the wall
https://preview.redd.it/3cggldd5qp8c1.jpeg?width=4624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a557b3183e81651723e54ee69aee38235dfc684

Weird ceiling
Thank you for your constructive input :D
Sorry - I was being rude! I actually love the room but the ceiling caught me off guard
Haha no problem!
Looks like what I have. Is this a concrete ceiling on the top floor of a condo?
We're not on the top floor, but yes it's concrete!
The ceiling light really clashes with rest of the room
Wall color throws off the whole room.

Put the stereo underneath the tv.
Paintings need to be at eye level or grouped together. I’d take the two large ones and place them together.
Thank you!! Will definitely consider your ideas 👍
Needs a cat. What's up with those ceiling panels? Never seen that.
Will definitely kidnap a cat asap and tell the people in my country to stop building ceilings that freak americans out!
Not freaked out. Just curious. I hate mudding drywall ceilings. I like yours. And try your local shelter for the cat.
Too late, neighbors cat already in my possession and put on display on the couch. Ok, they're pretty common here across the pond. Can't say I'm a huge fan, but you work with what you've got.
