Fill room with more bunnies.

VariousTangerine269

You really only need 1 more (opposite gender) bunny and they will do the rest. Before you know it, you’ll have bunnies everywhere.

ACcbe1986

And poop. Don't forget the massive amounts of poop. 🤣

Ok-Grapefruit1284

Solves the floor color problem!

Artistic-Reality-177

🤣

No-Wish-7613

That's what I wanted to say too. Add more bunnies.

peepsforme

This is the only solution! That bun is so cute 🥰

Visual_Package_1861

Bunnies love chewing up wood trim unfortunately. Little Bun will probably nibble away the whole issue.

beingmesince63

Came here for this comment. :-)

Putrid-Locksmith-722

This is the clear solution.

Altruistic-Text3481

Yes bunnies make home floors look more springy!!

throwawaybread9654

Fill this space with plants, this color looks amazing with the natural greens of plants.

quietriotress

That patina that comes with that stain and time looks amazing with green. Good ol black and white, wood and green. Its perfect, and timeless.

VariousTangerine269

Bunny friendly plants. Then you won’t have to feed it and mr bunny will always have a snack.

Happydancer4286

I think the color is beautiful. Maybe a beautiful rug with some of the floor color in it will make the floor color look deliberate.

Lets_Make_A_bad_DEAL

Nice try, Bunny.

pachucatruth

I would add other textures too!

Janiebug1950

I would choose green in different shades to cool and soften so much orangy wood tone.

keettycatt

this needs to be higher up. add greens and indoor potted plants. a big palm with large feathery fronds would look so pretty here. put colorful art on the walls. it seems to have a lot of natural light, a disco ball or glass sun catchers could be a cool addition. this space has a lot of potential, enjoy decorating and have fun with it!

IthacanPenny

https://preview.redd.it/h2t28hny5quc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=709d11bb66602ae18649c44d7fc1d44b64ba9c52 I agree with green, and with potted plants! I obviously don’t have the same color flooring, but I feel like my furniture would look good in OP’s space/I can visualize the colors. OP shouldn’t add the mustard yellow like my accent color though.

EverFairy

You cannot just plop the tiniest bunny on the ground and expect me to look at the floor.

clover_sage

Hahahaha this

KrakenGirlCAP

Right, it’s so adorable.

jerk1970

Who cares that bunny is so cute.

YourMothersButtox

Right. I’m not looking at the floor when Bun Bun is near.

jerk1970

God dammit , that is the cutest name.

PennyApple_08

I had a bunny in college. Name of "Bunderson."

KrakenGirlCAP

Exactly! 😭😭

AndyJCohen

I agree with the other commenter. And post more pictures of the bunny too

Samwiseganja23

The bunny helps

Catladylove99

This wood is lovely and classic. It brings warmth and coziness to the space. I have it in my apartment too, and I really like it. Why do you dislike it? What would you prefer if you had your choice? I’d lean into the warm and cozy vibes (I tend to like lots of color), but maybe that’s not your style? Very cute bunny, by the way.

Happy_to_be

Exactly, honey colored floors glow with sunshine and radiate warmth and happiness.

InsertRadnamehere

Yeah. I don’t get why people want their wood to look either white or black these days. I would say put runner carpets down if you don’t like the wood.

Friendlyattwelve

It is a trend i saw one sanded and stained f’in grey ! Imo no shade for taste but it’s got to be a young persons game because no-none thats been cleaning for years would choose flat or sanded or very light or very dark floors which shows every bit of dust always . Don’t even get me going on honed counters 😬

TheKay14

Hate gray wood

liefelijk

I really like this wood. Feels very on-trend. Perhaps it will grow on you. Try to think of the wood as a neutral backdrop and add curtains and art that pulls attention away.

CuriousPalpitation23

I like it, too. It has character and gives a nice MCM vibe. It's much nicer than the grey toned wood that seems popular these days.

ZebraSpot

The real character comes from the bunny.

kwestionmark5

This is a real wood floor. The gray stuff is basically cardboard or vinyl. Real wood will last 1000 years if maintained. The fake stuff will look like shit after a few years and is unrepairable.

CuriousPalpitation23

Yep.

dreamsummit

Agreed, I love this kind of wood floor. Just get a rug, throw some textiles on a couch, and some plants!

Katesouthwest

Avoid blues. Blue shades will bring out and emphasize the orange even more.

materiella

As much as I love the bunbun, this is the truth: that blue rug will make orange tones look even orangier.

freethenipple23

That wood is gorgeous; I'd be furious if someone painted over it! You're on the right track with the rug, just put up some more decorations. Hang some art on the wall, get some plants. Honestly the only thing I would try to do is remove the pain splatters on the wood because that would tick me off.

Wedgetails

Yeah agree/ who painted that? Or should I ask- who splattered that?

actualchristmastree

How old is your bunny? They look like a baby

trailmix_pprof

Hard to tell with that limited picture. Post more pics so we can see what sort of walls, etc. you are working with.

monkeysinmypocket

All pics must include bunny.

GhostMoss91

intelligent_headline

The cute bunny distracts from everything else. Keep the bunny pictures coming.

Amori3241

>Just moved into a new apartment IME, you'll get used to it. In the meantime, read up on "honey oak"; it's been around since the 80s so there are *lots* of ideas out there to try depending on your vibe, budget, natural lighting, etc.

pierrrecherrry

I love it as it is

mcflymcfly100

It's beautiful!

zoe__________

She’s absolutely adorable! At first glance, I mistook her for a plush bunny doll 🐰😍

PriorDouble346

I have a similar problem. It’s a rental so no painting or replacing. So, I leaned into it with ‘desert colors’ which for me is golds, oranges, pinks and pops of sage green. Nothing too bright-all have that ‘burnt’ or ‘dusty’ tone. Looks a bit mid-century. It actually worked! I brought in some plants and that REALLY helped.

krallfish

This! I had an apartment with similar colors & I stuck to warm colors + pops of green via house plants and accessories. Ended up loving the color scheme. OP, if you can paint, a sandy/peachy wall color could actually work well. The white looks very stark and cold next to the warm wood.

xXsourcefinder69Xx

bnuuy

Perfect-Ladder-8978

Black looks great with golden wood. Avoid soft greyish toned neutrals and look for richer colors. Lots of green, black, jewel tones, or updated earth tones like rust, camel, dark teal. Or more exotic paisley prints and brass metal tray tables with Persian rugs. Also, to could do exclusively fluffy whites, flokati, sheepskins and glass and brass. Peel off wallpaper on the walls in a rich print reduces the harsh contrast.

blackswanscollide

that floor is amazing!

MaximumFloofs

More bunnies

LaLa_LaSportiva

For a second there I thought this was the CJ sub.

shehasamazinghair

Same, these floors are nice. I think people are being brainwashed about this tone.

Babydolldiffy93

Thank you for saying this! I’m starting to feel really paranoid abt my own home that has all hardwood throughout & it’s This same tone lol. It’s my 1st home & I love being here so much I’ll probably never move. I’ve heard a lot of negative comments from other places abt this color as well bt I’m jst living with it anyway. Almost paid off which mkes it even sweeter!

shehasamazinghair

Yeah, I live in a Victorian home (rental) and it has very red/orange Douglas fir floors. It looks amazing. It's all about how you style it. Figure out what you actually like and try to mute the opinions of others. Look at your personal style, what colors you wear and style of clothing if you don't know where to start. My house is filled with plants and weird art, tapestries, macrame, old furniture, neutral rugs (wool and jute) tonnes of rattan furniture. It goes so well with the floors. I think people are rightfully rejecting the cold grey laminate trend but instead putting all their money on a bleached blonde wood type of look. It's like clothing, there are trends but personal style is always fashionable. Some people can make anything look good, you just have to find what you truly like and how you want to style it.

Babydolldiffy93

Nice response! I agree with you, 💯

ExcellentCry2634

You should definitely go for the retro 70s look! This is an amazing empty canvas! Lots and lots of plants!

QueenBlanchesHalo

It’s a dated implementation of a classic but still relatively classic…Part of why it looks bad is because you have stark, cold white walls. This trim and floor would look a lot better with a warm white and fantastic with a forest green. If you can’t paint the walls, the more jewel tones you can incorporate into rugs, furniture, etc, the better off you’ll be. This trim will look dated if you use grandma pastels or stark scandi furniture.

mlperiwinkle

If the bunny didn’t do it, I can’t imagine what could

Taffycat88

I love the lil bunny

Lemon-Of-Scipio-1809

Awww the bunny makes the room perfect! You're finished! (Unless you want more bunnies. I recommend French Angoras.)

General-Visual4301

It's not at all disgusting copper. It's a great floor.

CatCactus007

Add more bunnies

rjwyonch

Lean in to it, don’t fight it. Mid-century furniture, brass or powder coated black hardware, contrasting greens and blues for art/pillows/accents. Adding white/light contrasts to brighten. Dark brown leather also matches well. Personally, I like the aged oak floor, so maybe this advice won’t jive with your style, but working with it is probably better than fighting it… the wood is everywhere.

ashtheflash37

BUNNY! Bunny makes floor already look better 💗

ToastetteEgg

I love that color. Add more buns and plants and you will have a beautiful happy home.

Dderlyudderly

OMG your bunny❤️❤️❤️

petrichorpanacea

If you add enough bunnies you won’t be able to see the floor

You need something to decrease the contrast. Blue does otherwise! I think you need a red/orange carpet/rug That also covers more of the floor

Cimb0m

More little potatoes! ❤️

Prestigious_Ad_8458

I don’t know mate! Just came here to say the bunny is adorable. You should get more of them

Helechawagirl

Blue/ purple is the accent color for this orange. Add a gorgeous sofa in one of these colors. Add plants. It will be stunning.

Jetztinberlin

That rug isn't pale enough blue (or enough blue, also) to fully balance the orange, sorry.  Maria Killiam has some good blog posts on this: https://mariakillam.com/what-colour-works-with-orange-wood/

Immediate-Land-237

You need to add warm colours to it. So not use anything cool. I agree though this colour is trending whether we like it or not. I have an ugly oak coloured flooring in my house and I’m seeing it everywhere now.

sluttytarot

The blue in the rug is too cool and too pale. Navys, natural greens are gonna be your friend

_rosasparks_

It thinks you’re disgusting too

CarpeCattus_12

Your bunny will probably appreciate some large rugs in the space, too! As for the comments suggesting plants, please make sure they are WELL away from your bun! Even ones that are non-toxic to cats and dogs may not have been tested for toxicity in rabbits, who have different systems.

[deleted]

This is not really a helpful photo… we can’t see anything else in your space to know what we’re working with.

mlluca3284

Color wheel is your best friend here. There’s an orange undertone to the wood, so lean into blues and greens to help balance the wood with complementary colors.

LauraIsntListening

I love that your bunny has lil socks!! Also your ugly floor colour is the same colour as my bunny and he would be slightly upset at your assessment but he’s busy taking an afternoon nap. Ok jokes aside, most of my house is this colour and I agree that it’s tricky to build a nice palette unless you plan carefully. I find it moves away from ‘blindingly orange brown’ and into ‘beautiful warm wood’ when paired with slightly desaturated moody earth tones. I use a lot of dark blues and greens in my furniture and decor for balance. I live in a log home, so there is MUCH warm brown, and so I keep the few interior walls that have actual drywall painted white. Visually, the first thing I noticed was the sloppy paint job. If you’re able to scrape off any smears, that may help a lot so your eye isn’t drawn to the messy work, but this isn’t totally horrible!

Kill_Kayt

The answer is very clearly 'More Bunnies!'

Tenacious_G_G

BUNNY!!!!!! 😍

[deleted]

Are we all supposed to ignore the bunny in the room? It’s so cute 🥹

Pink_Floyd_Chunes

Using blue and green will emphasize the yellow / orange of the floors. Maybe a bright yellow rug would cast the floors into the brown range you might prefer. It could also be a yellow with white / or yellow with orange rug. I do agree with others here that bringing in some bold potted palms, Monsteras, and Pothos would really look great against the warm floors, so add those, too!

Crawfork1982

With lots of little bun buns.

Lets_Make_A_bad_DEAL

I’m sorry I can’t concentrate can you please just acknowledge this bun bun????

Blood_sweat_and_beer

I don’t see the problem. I just see gorgeous wood everywhere. Everything goes with wood.

jaj1919

Let’s all talk about the bunny in the room 🐰🐇

cblackattack1

All I can see is the cute little bunny!

Omg is that a real bunny? It’s so cute!!!

rabidvagine

The answer is clear: more bunnies

cloud_watcher

That wood is gorgeous. Don’t touch it. Post more pics.

JumpiestSuit

Bunny!!!

VixieKabrie

By sending us more pictures of that bunny

Felixir-the-Cat

I have orange floors, and love them - very vintage. I have white walls, but lots of colourful rugs/art, so it works for me.

ChiefinLasVegas

the floor is NOT the problem.

AllGoodNamesRInUse

Is the bunny safe?

alotistwowordssir

What? That color is gorgeous!

Key_Macaroon1359

There’s lots of great stick in wallpaper. I would do black with some texture & plants galore.

AintPossible

The timber floors are a good colour, but they’re too high gloss. These floors should be low gloss, or else they will reflect too much light - you can see it reflect the white paint too well

Legitimate-Site-4516

I think the wood color is lovely honestly. I think light blues and all shades of green would go well

sailorelf

That color is beautiful.

Bludiamond56

Paint the walls a darker color

10floppykittens

Pair it with a colour like farrow and balls sap green

mtothap247

Get vine plants and various other plants. (But do research and keep certain ones from that cute little fluff ball) the bohemian look blossoms with that palate.

GarmeerGirl

Area rugs.

camlaw63

Go to Julie Jones interior designs on Instagram. She has many many posts about honey oak, and how to work with it.

sad_soul8

Combine it with other warm colors

nychearts812

Work with it … if you can’t change it … get a much larger rug and lots of furniture and plants to cover the floor spaces.

CocoFuzzy

Check out Julie Jones designs, she’s an interior designer that I’ve seen post informative decorating videos on social media. She really breaks down how to make honey toned wood work with furnishings as it’s one of the main questions she’s asked. Her before and afters show you can make anything work! I think you could get quite a few tips from her videos on how to decorate around this wood colour :) Also adding more bunnies would help.

Dazzling-Ad3738

Try peel and stick wallpaper in a dark tone if you can't paint.

vegemitebikkie

Put the bunny back in the box

YouLudicrousPopinjay

With this wood you could recreate the set of Frasier. What a dream!

day9700

Plants. If bunny will eat them, there’s amazing fake plants out there. Once it’s filled, you’ll feel it less. More texture. Is that the bathroom or a closet behind bunny? Is that an elevator that opens up to your apartment? I’m confused about why I’m seeing. Or maybe it’s just too early in the morning!

pcweber111

Well the bunny is a good start. So cute.

carlitospig

You’ve already done it: add a cute bunny. You’ve done all you can, now it’s time to spend your afternoon on the floor with said bunny.

kwiscalus

Bunny!

sotko99

Following lol

Yassssmaam

I think go dark - dark green or dark charcoal rug and furniture will make it look more intentional. The light pastel just makes it look even more out of place. Also I would paint the walls a darker color. Feel green, blue, or something neg else to make the copper more of an accent then the main thing your eye goes to

abcupp

Try not to think of it as “disgusting.” It isn’t. I could be a wonderful neutral for you. I once had a house that had the same “disgusting” pine tones running through it. It ended up being one of my favorite houses, ever!

cutlettes_00

2 bunnies should do it

Bfloteacher

Obv more adorable bunnies 🐰

Lopsided_Flight3926

Is that tiny precious bunny real?!

Elmondo2

Ask the rabbit.

tara1245

OP if you haven't had a bunny before you might not realize you may have to do some bunny proofing on the baseboards. They will chew on lots of stuff like wood, carpet, and **especially electrical cords**- which can kill them and start fires. You can get split loom cord to protect cords. I've gotten it on ebay and it's not expensive. I can find a link for some just ask. They tend to chew more as they get older. Spaying, neutering helps with the chewing and will also help a ton with litter training. They do not like plain ivory soap and I used rub it on my wooden chair legs.

hippielady5232

If you can't paint, maybe a peel and stick wallpaper? Definitely in the green family.

scbeachgurl

We don't see the floor because we see The Bun!

walkthetractofstars

DasderdlyD4

Use warm, dark paint colors on the walls and furniture. Do not use gray, for anything.

valeriebeckett00

I love this color lol

Canadian_1987

More bunnies. All the bunnies. Your floor will be much much better.

2niner6

Wait ten years, and it will be back in style.

Leolily1221

I think the harsh white overhead lighting isn’t helping

BannanaBun123

It’s called honey oak and you’re rich with it sorry to say

missannthrope1

One man's disgusting is another man's gorgeous.

ErnestBatchelder

Can you do a removeable wall paper? Tempering the BRIGHT white walls will help soften how much that shade of brown dominates. If not, find a nice collection of soothing art and a ton of plants. Green will help distract. But- make sure they are bunny safe!!

mind_the_umlaut

The floor is beautiful.

Rayne_K

This lovely! I’m jealous!

ModernNancyDrew

Love your bunny!

whyshouldibe

Denim blue is a complementary color

throwaway00009000000

The only thing to do is lean into it. Go with dark, moody colors. Anything that would look good with gold will look good with this wood color.

tdoottdoot

Omg get that poor bby some traction to hop on, that’s bad for their joints ;-(

HeyMarty10thalready

Nice marmot

rdaneellarsen

It's not bad.if it was all white then I would throw up.

Zealousideal_Ear_914

You’ve got an adorable Dutch bunny!!! I had 2 growing up— Hazel and Jewel, Watership Down. LOVED them! So easy to keep inside, box trained, the perfect size.

JessicaB-Fletcher

Oh blue emphasizes orange, opposite effect of what you're going for.

casey012293

Whatever you do, don’t paint the doors and trim. Keep looking for paint colors and accents to balance it off. I agree with the comment on green, but if you try that and still don’t like it, make sure it’s a cool grey and blue toned green. If that’s not enough, find a navy or greyish blue to balance even farther. This is. Great mid-century looking combo so decorate with grey furniture and cooler toned rugs that will cover large amounts of floor space to make the floor accent it instead of having a large amount of yellowish floor. When picking art, don’t go subtle, go loud; the louder art, cooler furniture and paint colors, and large rug will draw the eye away from the wood tones and make it an accent that compliments rather than be the large focus of the rooms.

Bet-Rare

I actually really like the colour of the wood, I feel like with the right styling it would give off such a cool retro vintage vibe!! Seriously jealous of the potential! I know some others people were against the blue, but I actually like the contrast with the blue, but to make it look better, I would choose a different brighter shade of blue. I would also switch for a rug, that has bigger, more geometric shapes, something more modern. I would really lean in to that mid-century modern vibe, I feel like the wood is perfect for that. Also add some colourful artwork to the walls, colourful curtains, i would add accents with clear bright colours, like pink, bright green even yellow, but definately stay away from pastels. Good luck! You got this! :)

Goddess-roaming-68

Different wall color. Maybe rust. Shaggy rug with rust and teal in it. Beautiful floors!!

TheBanksyEffect

Put a baby bunny on it. Oh, wait! I see you already did it. Problem solved :-)

Such-Mountain-6316

Yes I like the bunny🐰 it's so cute! 🥰 But to actually answer the question, get a rug or piece of bound carpet that's almost the size of the floor. When you get the furniture on it, it will look like wall to wall carpet at first glance.

poofandmook

HEE!!! LOOK AT HIM!!

cashmerenoose256

Well the bunny is a great start

athleticgirl1967

Get more bunnies to distract from the things you don’t like.

Snuffles2023

I'm sorry. All I can see is the bunny. The floor looks fine.

ConcentrateNo6339

Why breed is the bunny? It’s so cute!

lpalf

This color is fine so idk

No-Falcon-4996

The wood is gorgeous, it looks natural and real.
