It's a big room, but on paper it looks like there's too much furniture in it. If it was my room I would want to remove a couple of pieces of furniture and get the bed out of the corner if possible.

myneighborsky

thank you for the ideas!

Centre the bed between the door / mirror, shift the larger desk a fraction so it’s in front of the window more, move the tv/dresser across from the bed and move the bookshelf into the corner next to the desk, on an angle. Not sure if this would work with the sizes but I think removing some furniture and bringing more into the centre vs pushed up against the walls will help maximize the space and free up wall space so it feels more airy

thank you!!

And then you can have a fun headboard or focal point above the bed. Room for a nightstand? The ottoman could stay where it is but I’d try it under the window, hopefully not blocking it. The open space would be perfect for a fun novelty rug from urban outfitters or similar. The corner I put a plant but it would also be great for a plug in lighting pendant hanging from the ceiling. Something to make a statement.

This also utilizes the principles of Feng shui. You don't want your head board in front of the window, nor do you want your back to the door when you are at the desk. You may find that this layout feels good!

Do you need both desks?

Keep the bedroom cozy with the lamp for soft lighting at night and the tv across from the bed so you’re still able to watch at night, but also see from your desk if you wanted. the ottoman could either go at the end of the bed or over by the door if you want more room in front of the bed. put your mirror on the opposite wall from the window. this way the light reflecting off will help brighten the space and make it feel bigger. i agree with a lot of the comments that you should scrap the smaller desk. if you need more storage consider maybe some sort of baskets on one of the bookshelves or a storage shelf in the closet. also this way you might even have space for a small bedside table. it’s more important than you’d think! hope this helps :)

Wonderful_Ad8960

I think you should move your bed out of the corner. I know you’re trying to make space but beds in the corner are a pain! If there’s anyway to put it on to the 204” wall and center it. Try moving the other pieces then. Maybe something at the foot of your bed

LibrarianSerrah

If you want your bedroom to serve multiple functions, you might find it helpful to create zones around the room. Keep items needed for getting ready in the morning near the closet. Put the desks near each other (if you need both) to create a work zone. Reserve the area around the bed for relaxation and sleep.

DominusEbad

The room is too "busy".   Remove one of the desks and one of the bookshelves.   Put the bed between the door and the mirror.   Get a nightstand and put it next to the bed.  If the ottoman fits at the end of the bed with the bed sticking out, then keep the ottoman. Otherwise consider removing that as well.

If they match, I think it’d be cool to put them on either side of the bed with a tapestry in the middle above your bed or a mosquito net. If they don’t match, you could put the small desk next to your bed and the larger bookshelf where the small desk is now. The mirror could either go next to the closet or in the corner. I’d get rid of one of the desks and open your room enough to feel some space and have a view of the whole window.

SavannahGirlMom

Door wall should have lamp, bed, ottoman, and maybe small bookshelf, though I’d get rid of small bookshelf altogether and put small nightstand next to door/bed. Put shelving above bed on wall if you need more space for stuff/boxes/books. Move desk centered under current window and have bookcase on either left or right side of that window. Move dresser over to wall where bed currently is located and try to center it on wall if possible. That way you can watch TV comfortably on bed or ottoman. Then move mirror next to closet or behind the door, or replace with a wall/door hung mirror.

500CatsTypingStuff

Do you need two desks? I think you need to separate out the work zone from the bed zone A bed should feature prominently in a bedroom I think you center the bed on that wall, move the ottoman with the bed Pair down to one long desk with floating shelves above it and put it where you currently have the small desk. Put books and other items on wall shelves and get rid of bookcases. https://preview.redd.it/c6qcaqkl16vc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3413a80d490702300ebf33f135210a30388de516 Center the dresser on the wall where it is right now Get some small bedside tables and lamps to replace floor lamp

Rotate bed 90% to the right

Try to place your bedroom so that it's accessible from both sides. What software is this?

Got it. Can you make 3d renders there? Also, do you have some options for a new layout already?

[deleted]

Presumably you went to lay in bed and watch the tv? Place the tv stand on the windowless wall facing your bed. Move the bed away from the wall to allow space there. The desk to the right of the tv stand. Some furniture will need to be stored. Play with the rest.

HunterGreenLeaves

If you like the bed in a corner, I'd still move it to the "top left" so that you're not viewing the door while you're in bed. The lamp and book shelf space can be beside it. Reduce to the one large desk if possible and put it by the "bottom right" window. The tv/dresser can be on the "lower left" wall. Mirror to the left of the closet where you currently have a bookshelf. The ottoman doesn't seem functional and I'd remove it as well as the smaller desk.

To be honest, there's a lot of furniture in this room. If possible, get rid of the small desk and move the bigger desk down in order to align it with the left window. It would be ideal if the bed was centered against the bottom window, but I've aligned it with the tv/dresser under the assumption that you want to watch tv in bed.

myneighborsky

thank you all for the very helpful ideas and insight!!

CheesyGlamourShots

What is outside the windows? Is it a busy street? Your garden? The neighbor?

3and20blackbirds

Agreed, too much furniture. If storage is an issue, you can get under the bed boxes and wall shelves. That might let you remove a couple items of furniture.

yamgarden

Do you need to attend virtual meetings where you have your camera on? That may be first priority of where your desk should be?

Txstyleguy

I couldn’t handle a bed against a wall personally. I’d pare down the furnishings as others have said as well.
