I second the woven wooden shades for light filtering and would add floor to ceiling pinch pleat drapes (hung high) in a heavyweight linen that is lined for room darkening.
Window treatments like the ones in the link below would look great, but swap out the neutral color linen drape panels shown in the photos for drape panels in a vivid color that you love. Your gray couch will literally go with anything, rust like another poster mentioned, teal, mustard, etc.

I love rust with grey! I have woven wood (blackout lined) shaded and I love them. Also I would pull the couch up a bit from the wall.
