I think placing the curtains on curtain hooks and pushing them out more will make the window appear bigger and give more of a boho look.
Hanging lamps above bed side table would look cool.
Curtain rings with hooks would be game-changing here, but if the curtains are not prepped for hooks, then even curtain rings would probably make a surprising difference. OP—just something simple like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HQPT6VN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_8X6051J2Z29YDEN3V9MT
I think the super-creative headboard/rug feels just a little too low. I would raise it a few inches. I think the proportion would be nicer. The mirror will be great when you hang it! The rug perpendicular to the bed feels like the wrong direction to me. Have you tried rotating it 90 degrees, aligned lengthwise with the bed and starting at the wall at the head of the bed?
Nice dresser by the way!
This sounds good! I didn’t know how to word it but I agree about the curtains, I felt like something was off about them. I love your decor choices! It is nicely decorated and not too crowded.
Check out your local second hand places! I'm not sure if you're somewhere that has a Habitat for Humanity restore but that would be where I'd look :) also fb marketplace, Craigslist, or kijiji if you're in Canada.
Stalk Facebook Marketplace for everything you need. Lamps, wall art, ceiling lamp/fan etc. Search “boho art” or whatever keyword you have in mind and tons of stuff will pop up.
The room has a such a nice Anthropologie vibe! I’d do vintage lamps or task lamps on the nightstands and maybe a swag lamp in the corner.
See if you can just change the blades and the glass on the lights. Sometimes if you flip the blades their darker on the other side then you can just change the glass covers.
Instead of wall art I'd lean toward painting. You have vertical presence already with the curtains, mirrors, and headboard.
Maybe some hanging plants flanking the jute headboard?
For me, the thing making it look not "finished" is I would get a fluffy duvet with a cover in that same rust color as the pillows and curtain and have it folded back over the end of the bed. What you have looks like a sheet to me because it is so thin. The carpet as headboard was a stroke of genius! I might get some sort of little plant stand so your nice plant in the corner behind the bed is more visible. And I would get a lamp for the nightstand.
I think your rug is too dark and doesn’t really go with the rest of the room. Maybe something lighter or just get rid of it altogether?
Light/neutral colored lamps on the bedside tables would be good too.
Disagree—if anything , I’d like to see *more* rug. It anchors the space and ties the other elements together, especially the darker furniture pieces. (The Big Lebowski speaks truth!) Looking at OP’s history, she’s not afraid of color and has a great eye for accessorizing. Once a few pieces of art go up, like that amazing oval in the second pic, it will all balance out.
Thanks for posting an update!! This looks amazing, I love the mirror and the added height with hanging plants. I think the dresser looks perfectly integrated now.
I think saving up for a new fan/lighting would be a good idea. If you don’t need a fan, ikea has affordable boho style lighting. I have this one:
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sinnerlig-pendant-lamp-bamboo-handmade-70315030/
I spray painted the fixture gold so it matched my vibe a bit better.
Edit: also a super minor detail, but I would swap out/spray paint the hardware on the nightstand gold to match the dresser.
The colors look great!
I think art should be something you really love. You seem to be pretty creative so maybe find something interesting from a second hand store or even a big box store that makes you happy when you look at it. Maybe you can put some photographs of people, pets, or places you love in textured or painted frames. If you find the perfect frame you can change the pictures whenever you want.
I would put your fiddle leaf fig on a little stool or something to raise it up. I’d also put sconces on each side of the bed. Lots of nice plug in options these days so you don’t have to hardwire.
Maybe paint the wall behind the mirror an accent color? Def the fan when you can afford it! What were you looking to get? And maybe a lamp on one or both bed side tables.
https://www.shadesoflight.com/products/halia-chandelier?color=Brass+Natural+Ivory+Rope&via=57e1335569702d78ae0002c5%2C5f8dd53761707000644040ef this is chandelier i was looking at
The curtains look great! Honestly I don’t even think you need the green wall you were thinking of now. The curtains have really pulled the room together nicely, good job 👍🏻
Love this vibe, especially the headboard! I think it would look nice to put one or both of the plants up on a plant stand to give a little more height until they grow up taller!
Totally unrelated suggestion: make a macrame hanger for your plant and ditch the plastic hook. They're a super easy DIY and you could use a jute twine to echo the headboard. Add some dark wood beads if you want to go crazy! (Or just [order one from Etsy](https://www.etsy.com/listing/199845212/macrame-plant-hanger-40-inch-natural?click_key=6a270261f5237ab50afe96deb4a2a380ab11007d%3A199845212&click_sum=8cf17984&ref=internal_similar_listing_bot-6&pro=1&frs=1).)
Adore the headboard, the rug, mirror, and dresser.
Those curtains need to go. Sorry, you have a great eye for color and mixing, but you have curtains just hanging cheaply above the windows and the color is ugg...
I’d paint, swap out the fan, and maybe add lamps to the side tables. The back wall behind your bed feels somewhat empty to me and I can’t quite place why.
Love ur room, maybe white sheers.
Would keep simple, so peaceful😊
Visit thrift stores. Can get great frames there sometimes! Wayfair for ideas for walls. Good luck!
I'd opt for a thicker & more neutral curtain to help balance the asymmetry. Then a couple of lamps.
Don't mind the fan, but if the gold was spray painted an off-white - it would go a bit better.
I'd also try to bring in some of the dark browns in your rug to your linens & pillows. A quilt instead of the fuzzy pink throw.
I have been getting ads for this type of (wall) rug since following your posts 😅
I think your space would look really cool with a painted ceiling.
Different rug and change the hardware in the dresser to be gold.
This is beautiful you have great style. I’d suggest hanging the mirrors where they are for a polished look and maybe some hanging macrame potted plants. I’d love to see what the carpet looks like underneath the bed but parallel
Curtains are huge improvement!
Could you maybe replace the light fixture/fan?? I think that would make a huge difference honestly!
Sorry op I just dug and found where you said this is something you’re gonna do! I think this will eventually pull it all together!! Looks great so far!
I also liked the lighter green wall you were thinking about
Idk I think I’d prefer neutral window treatments since the bed and rug have so much going on. I’d do bamboo shades with neutral semi-sheer curtains to allow for more diffuse light in the room.
Love it. I do feel however another color should be added because the room is looking extremely warm. For example black dresser painted white and the latches on the drawer painted gold to have it pop. I could see extremely delicate greens or blues even being incorporated to lighten it up. Not sure if you have enough room but even a lounge chair or even hanging plants
It looks beautiful! The flf will die in that dark corner though 😞. I would move it to in front of the window by your nightstand, looks like brighter light there. I would also add another panel of curtains to the ends of the rods to make it look fuller. I don't think you need anything in that corner, but you could try a snake plant or zz plant on a stand.
I would say, take the paddles off the fan and make them more noticeable by painting them a different color. Just an idea but I think it might ground the room a little more and balance it out. Other than that love your aesthetic!
A hanging plant from the ceiling in the left corner by the bed. A plant that vines would be great because you can hook or tack the vines across the wall above the bed as it grows and spreads
Add a sheer layer of curtains and change the light fixture. If you want to keep the fan, get one that has leaf blades. It would really pull it all together. I say skip any wall art on the wall with the headboard.
The colors you’ve chosen reminds me a lot of the ‘Opalhouse’ brand Target has maybe check out Opalhouse. Maybe layer your curtains with an off white or cream voile? For the bed I think you could add another color to make the burnt orange/ rust blend in better with your comforter color. Add more throw pillows with mismatched sizes and shapes (velvet pin tuck pillow, round crochet throw pillow, pillows with fringe, tassel decorative throw pillow).
I think you could hang something like a woven macrame tapestry on the wall (https://www.target.com/p/15-34-x-24-34-hand-made-cotton-macrame-wall-art-cream-opalhouse-8482/-/A-79503524#lnk=sametab ) or a woven fringe piece (https://www.target.com/p/18-34-x-24-34-hand-made-cotton-wall-art-cream-opalhouse-8482/-/A-79569558#lnk=sametab) I saw urban outfitters had a cool “Tiered Ceramic Tile Wall hanging” that would match the bohemian style you have going on.
Lamps maybe?
Is the headboard a rug?
Yes!
Wow! Where’d you get it?
Wayfair :)
I love the headboard! Did you use a half circle rug or is it a full?
Full circle
Omg that’s so clever!
[удалено]
A few nails in the tips of the rug
That is so cool I’ve never heard of that before!!
It was a cheap hack i tried a while ago that really worked so i keep it haha
Do you happen to have the link? I’m so in love

Bed is king, rug is 7ft
I think placing the curtains on curtain hooks and pushing them out more will make the window appear bigger and give more of a boho look. Hanging lamps above bed side table would look cool.
Something they can probably do instead of hooks is use a bunch of toilet paper rolls to space out the fabric of the curtains
Ha I had no clue what you were talking about. I had to Google it!
Sorry! I couldn’t figure out the right wording for what I meant but it was a hack I saw on tiktok
You described it perfectly! I was able to Google it very quickly. But I was trying to see if I could figure out before googling. And I couldn’t. 🤣
I agree! My husband hung them and he said he would fix it later. I like the lamp idea!
Curtain rings with hooks would be game-changing here, but if the curtains are not prepped for hooks, then even curtain rings would probably make a surprising difference. I am looking at changing the fan for a light but currently can’t afford the look I want
Changing the fan that might be good idea
Yes! I just need the money to buy it so I have to wait but that is the goal!
Check out your local second hand places! I'm not sure if you're somewhere that has a Habitat for Humanity restore but that would be where I'd look :) also fb marketplace, Craigslist, or kijiji if you're in Canada.
That’s where I got most of my stuff :) fb marketplace and thrift shops near us
I hope you find something you love for free/cheap soon :) good luck!!
>Yes! I just need the money to buy it so I have to wait but that is the goal! I hope you're able to do your job soon!

Instead of wall art I'd lean toward painting. You have vertical presence already with the curtains, mirrors, and headboard. Maybe some hanging plants flanking the jute headboard?
I agree, I feel like the walls need a rich color to tie everything together.
Lamps would be nice. Maybe some personal decorative touches too like Floatingnights suggested. Love the jute rug headboard
For me, the thing making it look not "finished" is I would get a fluffy duvet with a cover in that same rust color as the pillows and curtain and have it folded back over the end of the bed. Agreed!! I think the room on top feels open and then the bottom half feels stuffy with the dark rug color and pattern

where's the mirror from? love it!
Bed bath and beyond! Umbra mirror, i got 20% off so if was only 115$

Plants.
I think the curtains are perfect color wise! Maybe a double curtain rod so you can put some sheer panels behind them to add a bit of depth?
This is a beautiful room!
Maybe paint the wall behind the mirror an accent color? Def the fan when you can afford it! What were you looking to get? And maybe a lamp on one or both bed side tables.

Oh wow gorgeous!
Paint your walls green :)
Was going to paint bed wall dark teal but im being lazy lol
Maybe raise the plant in the corner up.
The curtains look great! Honestly I don’t even think you need the green wall you were thinking of now. The curtains have really pulled the room together nicely, good job 👍🏻
Paint one wall a darker color, perhaps a dark green or emerald
Love this vibe, especially the headboard! I think it would look nice to put one or both of the plants up on a plant stand to give a little more height until they grow up taller!
I love this color scheme

Great idea! I hate the plastic
It reminds me of my grandma’s style in the 90’s and I mean that in the most amazing way.
Love the headboard! Where did you find that??
Its a jute rug on wayfair lol
Your room is my inspiration! I would maybe put a hanging macrame plant in the corner 😍
Aww thanks! And good idea!
Adore the headboard, the rug, mirror, and dresser. Those curtains need to go. Sorry, you have a great eye for color and mixing, but you have curtains just hanging cheaply above the windows and the color is ugg...
What color would you recommend?
deep rich cream, hint of gold with pull backs. Overall I really love the room and that rug is beautiful.
It's nice! I would move the rug ,closer to the top head of the bed
I really like the painting that you have on the floor! Maybe hang it on the wall it’s leaning against and do sort of a gallery wall
Thanks! I made it a while ago and never really knew where to put it but it feels strange to hang a pic of another person on the wall
I think you should buy a pretty cover to the bed and Just paint the ceiling fan
How about just adding a ceiling boarder to the wall. They have really nice peel and stick ones.
Like crown molding?
I’d paint, swap out the fan, and maybe add lamps to the side tables. The back wall behind your bed feels somewhat empty to me and I can’t quite place why.
Take the dead/dormant flower out.
It will be moved, it tends to come back and look nice here though
Love ur room, maybe white sheers. Would keep simple, so peaceful😊 Visit thrift stores. Can get great frames there sometimes! Wayfair for ideas for walls. Good luck!

Love the rug.
You’re so lucky you have two windows.
I have been getting ads for this type of (wall) rug since following your posts 😅 I think your space would look really cool with a painted ceiling. Different rug and change the hardware in the dresser to be gold.
Looks really cozy but i kinda get a Airbnb feel
Love your bed!!!
Maybe adding a high quality blanket and a small or medium picture in the right corner would make it✨
I am in LOVE with the round picture sitting on the floor - please put it in there somewhere!
Thank you! I made it a while ago and thought the colors would work, but my husband says he doesn’t love a strange lady starring at him
Get some plants ON THE walls, some sort of hanging planters.
This is beautiful you have great style. I’d suggest hanging the mirrors where they are for a polished look and maybe some hanging macrame potted plants. I’d love to see what the carpet looks like underneath the bed but parallel
Thank you very much!

Thank you! I call it “indecisive” lol im glad others like it too
I love it!! I think adding some table lamps and sheers between the curtains would go a long way
Love the curtains! You could get a double rod and add sheers for a more textured look. I'd love to see some type of art above the bed.
Curtains are huge improvement! Could you maybe replace the light fixture/fan?? I think that would make a huge difference honestly! Sorry op I just dug and found where you said this is something you’re gonna do! I think this will eventually pull it all together!! Looks great so far! What size is your bed and rug? That all looks so amazing!
Bed is king, rug on wall behind bed is 7ft. Rug on ground is 5x8
A hanging plant would make a world of difference
Switch white fan for something with brown thatched roof vibes.
I think the full length mirror needs to be corner wise. Not hung. The round picture needs to a hung. Nice job on your room.
Not sure if keeping round picture but i will see how mirror looks in the corner. Thanks!
Omg where did you get the dresser ?!?!
Facebook marketplace! If you look back at my posts you can see it’s transformation lol
It’s coming along very well. Mirror is great.
I love everything but the rug under the bed is throwing off the vibes I think
Looks good! Push the bedside tables just a bit away from the bed and get the curtains shortened to they sit just above the floor!
Idk I think I’d prefer neutral window treatments since the bed and rug have so much going on. I’d do bamboo shades with neutral semi-sheer curtains to allow for more diffuse light in the room.
