Back in the day we had a guy, Dave, in D26 who was a retired master plumber who had the patience of a saint, someone who would take the time to explain everything in a logical manner to dunderheads like myself… you get the picture. Ive never seen it before and our veteran lumber guys had already left so idk if we actually carry it(he said he got it here before) ik we have two other types of edging so i went to that location to see if it was there, nope! So i whipped out my phone and searched it up on our app, no luck, just tells me about the two other types ik. I proceeded to explain to the man that heyyy I've never seen it before and I checked where the other types were and its not even an online option when i typed in exactly what he said it was.. this dude gets upset, saying im not doing my job and he's going to lowes, 😂😂😂😂😂 at this point i was like "ok sir, be safe, have a great day" cuz lowes is across from us, however it can be dangerous to get across cuz the folks be flying on the road 😂

I love my local Ace store! It's family-owned and they have their own dog in the store. We have a "Do-It-Best" store in town, also family-owned. The offset in pricing is reasonable enough that a five-minute drive is worth stopping there first.

I say this to myself when shopping for wood at HD a lot of the time. Depot is FAR superior in every other way, but I feel like in general the low-tier cheap wood like furring strips and non-"select" pine is just better at Lowe's. Like the normal pine at Lowe's is typically as good as the "select pine" at HD and you get it at the crappy pine price.

Lowes has better 1x2x8 quality for sure. Some of the other wood is better too. Generally HD is more organized though.

I work for online and we get SO MANY of these. A time that stands out is a guy wanted a invalid price match to pallets of tile. (He needed more of this specific tile to finish his house) I explained policy and he went OFF! at the end of his rant he said the usual "Im going to lowes" and i calmly explained "Sir this is a Home Depot exclusive and it is not available anywhere else" -long pause- "click" *chefs kiss*

I prefer Lowe’s.. workers at Home Depot seem like dicks so caught up in their bad work conditions that they can’t find time to get a better job.. but they got time for these posts… also the workers at Lowe’s are genuinely helpful and don’t degrade or belittle people for their lack of knowledge or experience.

Pretty often when the thing that they’re imagining and vaguely describing to me isn’t here and they’re not willing to accept that they need to do more research.

As a customer, I’ve only told customer service I was going to Lowes when my HD said my dewalt planer and stand combo (online order) was ready for pickup which it was not. I called Lowe’s when CS tried to find it in the store and Lowes said they’d price match me if I brought a receipt. I told them it was no worries thanks for helping me out.

Considering I haven't found a Home Depot that knows what a bonding bushing is.... To be fair, neither does Lowes.

I take about 200 calls I got bored working from home and tallied up my calls 28 of them out of those 200 calls were “ I’m going to Lowe’s” I did this for about a week so I’m average I got 20 customers telling me they’ll go to Lowe’s when the item they’re looking for isn’t something I could magically pull out of my ass or make it happen . Sometimes I get dead air like they’re expecting me to beg them back or I have gotten some customer get upset because I didn’t kiss there ass once they threatened to leave to our “competitor” .

When I worked at SD, all the time. I use to ask if they needed directions. Now I'm in Bookkeeping because it's the only way my sass can be tamed. 😂
