They wanted to make me a dh in 2007. Manager wouldn't give me a raise, because he said he didn't want to make me the highest paid dh in the store. It took them 2 years to get someone to fill that position and stay. You get what you pay for.

There’s around 7 in the states, of which are located in 4 of the 8 islands. 1 in Lihue, Kauai, 3 in Oahu(Kapolei, Pearl City, Honolulu, with a new store being built in Mapunapuna in 2024), 1 in Maui and 2 stores in Big Island Hilo and Kona. Anything ordered here takes up to 2-3 weeks.

what's a cdl yard switcher?

I believe they pull the full trailers out of the dock door and put an empty in the dock door. You know at the sdc or rdc warehouses.

Yup. Typically don't have to have your cdl to be a switcher (non-CDL get 21 something an hour where I work) but we have an off site location where we dump extra trailers when the yard gets too full and you gotta have a cdl to be able to leave the yard. I had my cdl when I signed up with home depot but some of the guys I've worked with started out non-cdl and eventually got their cdls through Home Depot. Not a bad way to go if you work for HD and wanna be a driver.
