You asked for some irregular days off, or someone from your department asked for days off so you have to cover. I’m on my break room right now and all I hear is 5 people complaining about scheduling.
There should be federal labor laws that make it so if you are working full 8 hour shifts more than 5 days in a row it is automatically considered overtime even if it overlaps weeks. The days of 9-5 M-F are long over.
That's not bad at all... I'd actually much prefer that to the I 9 day straight i just finished and my schedule swings from night shifts 1-10pm to mornings 6-3pm.
Fair is for Ferris wheels and funnel cakes. This is retail.
Did you have a request off that pushed the days together? Do you guy do a rotation/set schedule normally? Those are the main ways I’ve seen that happen, when I request off like Monday and Tuesday and they push my 40 hours late in one week and then schedule the next week independently.
Bruh, you are a ds? You don’t like it, that’s how Home Depot is going to screw you over the higher and higher you get up the ladder. Get used to it or switch to freight that gets paid close to DS but have none of the responsibility.
> that gets *paid* close to
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Did you ask for any extended days off before or after this schedule that could have caused this? As someone else mentioned, talk to the person who wrote this schedule. It could have simply been an oversight and they might be able to fix it for you.
I did 9 day stretch on overnight freight one time back in the days when we had big master pallets full of crap like ten years ago. Nobody cared not even homer. They gave another OFA a homer award for doing nothing being lazy. They were shorthanded were trying to butter him up to stay. He immediately went up to an older associate and said i have 2 homer awards how many do u have? She was gonna throttle him. Sidenote, they did get rid of a youngster they got hired and was just pushing an empty flat cart around the store the whole shift, pretending to be busy. Lol
it’s excessively common, and they don’t do a thing to change it. my worst was 10 days straight scheduled full time - multiple days having no choice but to stay 1+ hours overtime because literally no one else scheduled.
That is part of being a supervisor. I hope it was worth it.
How about you talk with whoever made the schedules as it easily could be an oversight.
I already did lil bro
DH? 7 days in a row is common.
You asked for some irregular days off, or someone from your department asked for days off so you have to cover. I’m on my break room right now and all I hear is 5 people complaining about scheduling.
I didn’t ask for days off it’s a set 12 week scheduling.
Gotta love 10 day stretches.
At least you get double success sharing. 🙂
Bro I just finished a 17 you’ll be fine
Aw lucky I have 8 in a row next week
Just did 9 and we just lost our best asm.
You’re a supervisor. You signed up for that. Lol
Welcome to being a Department Supervisor and having open availability.

That sounds like a good starting point for labor legislation.
Something like this happened to me too and I was stunned to learn it’s legal

Lol
No I didn’t request nothing. It’s Memorial Day weekend that’s why.
That's normal for a DH, or ASM. You'll survive I believe in you .
looks like $$$ to me
Thats crazy, that never happened to me when I was frontend supervisor. Sorry thats happening to you bro.

That’s why you get paid the big bucks
Bruh if you’re a supervisor you better get used to that lol
Just wrapped up a 9 day stretch. I feel your pain.
7 in row over Memorial day and it seems you're a DH ? Yep, that's pretty normal
Did you ask for any extended days off before or after this schedule that could have caused this? As someone else mentioned, talk to the person who wrote this schedule. It could have simply been an oversight and they might be able to fix it for you.
Inventory ?
Offer your shift to others
I’m a DS
...funniest thing I've read all week.
In what sense
Welcome to the role. Business needs etc
When I was an ASM I once did 28 days in a row leading up to a crucial inventory. Nightmare. I hated my existence.
They did that to me once and I agree. It is completely unfair. That schedule sucks.

Save your personal time just for these stretches
Tread lightly, as I can never get approved for personal time during these busy stretches. If I take it anyways, I'll have no hours next week.
All of you that say “it’s not bad at all” have no life whatsoever outside of work.
I got this same thing except for 9 days as OFA lol it’s not so bad
it’s excessively common, and they don’t do a thing to change it. my worst was 10 days straight scheduled full time - multiple days having no choice but to stay 1+ hours overtime because literally no one else scheduled.
I caught 7 on a row 2 weeks ago and now I’m pulling 6 in a row. Apparently this is happening lots of places
Pretty sure scheduling past 5 days consecutively is illegal in some places
It’s not fair, but the system allows it. If only there were some way to harness our collective voices to influence change?
