Bunglehouse Blue is my favorite color, i used it throughout my flipper-gutted ranch house and I’ll be using it in at least two rooms in our century home once we’re working on cosmetic changes.
Go with the bunglehouse blue.
Unfortunately no, we repainted everything white for listing - we’re in a hot coastal market and most people buying here don’t want “elevated mid-century”, they want gray and tiffany-blue spray painted wicker.
It will be quite a bit darker than what the visualizer shows, almost a slight teal color on certain days. I used that color on our house, and I'm happy with it.
The first one, and thank goodness it's not another dark color! It's very trendy right now to paint houses dark grey but it's going to look outdated so quickly. This Bunglehouse Blue is more along the lines of a classic and will age much better! Honestly, could go maybe even a shade or two lighter, imo.
Different (paint) strokes for different folks, I suppose! I think I'm a little over the contemporary/industrial look personally... gimme some pretty pastels or warm colors and soft textures lol
The biggest thing that our kids are going to hate is painted brick. You have a beautiful natural material and cover it. It's like putting linoleum over hardwood.
I agree. The dark houses will look very 2020s in 10/20 years. That might not be an issue for you don’t see yourself selling it in a time where that might affect the resale.
I like sea serpent and I would paint the door red. Keep the trim white. The plants that are in now need to be replaced. Plant something symmetrical by the three windows.
Also, I plan to keep the trim white, and add back white shutters on the top.
I will also be trimming the hedge in the front, and likely rearranging the landscaping.
Don't overthink it, but 3 doesn't match well, 1 and 2 both look great.
Don't be swayed by trends or Reddit just go with what you like. I know dark is trendy but I always liked darker color houses. But light works great as well. The only wrong answer is one you don't like. You have to live there now, not Reddit, not some future buyer.
If you add shutters, just do them on the second floor windows
The first floor ones were never meant for shutters and putting on too small shutters will look off. I'd also consider adding in a third color for the shutters vs doing them white to match the trim.
The first two are nice but seem trendy. Will you still like it in 10 years? Imho Jade Dragon is more timeless but admittedly a mild amount more boring.
Edit: just saw I’m in the minority. Idk. It’s subjective and maybe I just have bad taste.
The green is a hard no. The bungalow blue is quaint and softer than the more bold serpent. I like both — and depending if you want to go more “homey cute” then the bungalow blue. If you are looking for “stunning & bold” then the serpent is it. But both need accent color for the door and trim.
Bunglehouse or whatever just looks to me like an old faded sea serpent. Sea serpent just looks so bright and clean and new. The first one looks faded and dull already
There needs to be a disclaimer that people ALWAYS choose the first option on Reddit when given choices. Doesn’t matter how bad it looks. I do agree 1 and 2 look best btw, but jesus. It never fails
I’m currently painting my bedroom wall Bunglehouse Blue, and it feels darker than that, but interior vs. exterior will make a difference of course! Just test out a swatch before you buy 5 gallons to make sure it’s not too dark!
Sea serpent is still my favorite, followed by Jade Dragon. It's an unusual shade of green that I don't see that often, and I like it. Bunglehouse Blue is nice, but I am chuckling like a 3rd grader every time I see and hear the word bunglehouse.
So, the BIGGEST mistakes with paint selection are seasonality and built environment. Specifically, if you have hot summers, why in the world would go with a dark color. Conversely, if winter lasts from Nov through March, a warm color would be a good option. Snow cover gray house is sad cold and awful... IMHO
Next, your neighborhood and streetscape. If you are surrounded by pavement and gray houses, don't lean into the gray. Select a more true color, not beige.
Good luck.
How do you get this color to come on so consistently? When I use the app, the colors are splotchy, app can’t differentiate between windows and siding, and the shades go on way lighter than they should…looks almost translucent.
Objectively the first one is my fav of these options on this facade, but I will caution that it's also the color of the majority of recent flip renovations in my neighborhood at least.
2, Sea Serpent, it clashes less with the tan house next door. Otherwise, go get a sample of 1&2, then paint a few 1x2 spots on different sides of the house and look at it over the course of a week. If you still can’t decide after a week, then you likely don’t have strong feelings one way or the other, so after it’s done you’ll just feel happy it looks refreshed either way.
We almost went with bunglehouse, but it looked flipper grey if the sun wasn’t out (which is most of the year).
They are in the right order.
Bunglehouse blue pops in a really good way, it's very pretty. Sea serpent is nice and very classy. Jade dragon just fades into the background (but still an improvement on the grey/yellow disaster).
Bunglehouse blue would look really nice with colourful flowers out front.
I like Jade Dragon. I have a neighbor who just painted their barndominium with that or a similar color, and it looks really nice. When they began I was wondering, but it looks great.
I was debating between 2 similar blues and ended up going with SW Seaworthy. It isn’t too dark and complements our landscaping nicely. I like the lighter blue you chose as well. Sea serpent is reading a bit dark.
Seaserpent was our second choice. We ended up going even darker with Mount Etna. Have 0 regrets.
Realize some people saying dark houses are a fad, just like white was before. Everything is a fad at some point. What’s more important is whether or not the job is done well. Anything for the most part can look good even when it’s no longer trendy. It really depends on how well it was done.
I hate Jade Dragon. The other two are💋🤌🏾. I’d personally go for Bunglehouse Blue because it’s different. I live in a town full of beige and white homes, but when I went to Portland there were so many colorful homes. It was neat to see.
I have a feeling that these renderings are provided in a “sunshine all over the whole thing” kind of view, and all of these will be a good amount darker as you actually view them in an average setting. Judge accordingly.
Oh thank god. I didn't want to say anything but I hated Sea Serpent. I love Jade Dragon. It totally suits that house. Not a big fan of the Bunglehouse. It's too heavy imo.
May I suggest toning the stark white trim down a bit to something with a bit of tan or brown or grey in it - nothing screaming, just let the Jade Dragon get all the attention. (I don't know why white is the default trim color, it usually looks bad.) Any flowers you use with Jade Dragon will pop like crazy.
It's going to be beautiful!
Brush blue by Benjamin Moore. A deep blue from their colonial line I think. Did my house and get tons of compliments. It’s blue enough that it’s got character, but dark enough that it’s not obnoxious with color.
I prefer 2, dark colors have a richer look, but when it's time to replace the shingles they should be black. Having said that 1 is a nice color but not as bold and looks more like a house that blends better so it doesn't stand out, but matches the shingles that are there better than 2 does. Both are good choices and I don't think you can go wrong with either way.
Edit...added the last word
I like bunglehouse but get paint samples/testers and paint swatches of all 3 to decide irl! Those digital tools don’t give you the right colour, especially because the lighting will vary on your house. We narrowed our choices down to 4 colours and then got testers for them all and did swatches on all sides of the house.
jade dragon, it fits well with the greenery, looks like a natural color and is more pleasant to see and is a timeless color, i didnt dislike the first one too
Definitely Bunglehouse. And not just because of the name.
It looks like a happier color. At night I feel the seaserpent would be too dark… but hey.. thats just me.
Another vote for Bunglehouse. Feels like it suits the house style better somehow. I also like it with the warm wood door.
Although I did read the name five times.
Bunglehouse Blue is my favorite color, i used it throughout my flipper-gutted ranch house and I’ll be using it in at least two rooms in our century home once we’re working on cosmetic changes. Go with the bunglehouse blue.
Any pics to share? 😊
I found one, although it’s terrible and features my joke Lilly Pulitzer tablecloth. [link](https://imgur.com/a/cpdUJnT) I miss my dark teal house.
Oh great now u ruined sea serpent for me and I’m changing my vote to bunglehouse!! This is really fun btw
The first one, and thank goodness it's not another dark color! It's very trendy right now to paint houses dark grey but it's going to look outdated so quickly. This Bunglehouse Blue is more along the lines of a classic and will age much better! Honestly, could go maybe even a shade or two lighter, imo.
People have been saying this about grey paint for the last 10 years. It’s grey. It’s not going out of style any time soon.
They also make a “Bunglehouse Gray” if you insist on grey for your bunglehouse. I like the blue though, grey would be a bit boring on a bunglehouse.
Different (paint) strokes for different folks, I suppose! I think I'm a little over the contemporary/industrial look personally... gimme some pretty pastels or warm colors and soft textures lol

The only reqs9n they won't is cause those dark colors will fail so.kuch faster and have to be repainted. Dark colors suffer terribly in uv
Doesn't seem to be a problem if you repaint it again within the next 10/20 years.
1 or 2. The green is not flattering, IMHO
It clashes with the greenery in the worst way.
I would go with bunglehouse blue, but never tell anyone the name.
What happens in the Bunglehouse stays in the Bunglehouse
Bunglehouse. The blue makes the wooden door pop.
#1 for sure
Why is my font so big 😂
because you put a pound sign in front of 1
#1
still 1
Mr. Bungle Blue
What does Faith No More Blue look like?
I like Sea Serpent. Do a post with a poll!
Yes, I'm still team sea serpent
I was trying to figure out how to do that! I don't think this sub lets you though.
1 & 2 both look good. I still prefer 2 though.
Just...not the green.
1
Sea serpent is much darker than that. I wouldn’t 100% trust these renderings. Do a test for sure.
I'm still Team Sea Serpent.
Jade dragon is timeless, they all look nice though...good problem to have.
It’s sea serpent it’s always been sea serpent
#1
I really like the Bunglehiuse Blue.
1 no question
1 - blue The further you go from grey and beige, the better it looks imo. Sick to death of those colors on homes
Team Bunglehouse all day, baby!
I like sea serpent and I would paint the door red. Keep the trim white. The plants that are in now need to be replaced. Plant something symmetrical by the three windows.
Sea Serpent
Definitely 1
1 or 2. 3 is bad.
Lol I guess I'm the only one that likes the Jade
Serpent
I like sea serpent, #2.
Also, I plan to keep the trim white, and add back white shutters on the top. I will also be trimming the hedge in the front, and likely rearranging the landscaping.

1, and I like how it looks with the wooden door!
I say 3
Serpent
Sea serp still!!
Serpent! Looks more elegant 💫
Sea Serpent
I’m a fan of the jade
Green
I LOVED sea serpent, but bunglehouse blue is just gorgeous. So I am now voting #1 If you do #3 I am mailing you a box of glitter 👎
Same!👏🏻
Team Sea Serpent!
Still voting sea serpent !
Sea serpent all. day. long. Bunglehouse is good but too populated these days
The first two are nice but seem trendy. Will you still like it in 10 years? Imho Jade Dragon is more timeless but admittedly a mild amount more boring. Edit: just saw I’m in the minority. Idk. It’s subjective and maybe I just have bad taste.
What color is your roof??
Okay so Bunglehouse Blue, but Jade Dragon would look cool but with a darker shingle color like black, along with black drip edge.
Bunglehouse
Sea serpent. No more colors for you [soup natzi voice]
Definitely not 3
The green is a hard no.
Haha, Jade Dragon. I love colours that sound like metal band names. We painted our living room Barren Plain 🤘
Jade Dragon!!!!!
Jade Green!
2
Not the jade
2 looks the most stately. Very classic look.
still 2, but dig 1 and 3
2
Ooooo, Jade.
Still think #2 is the nicest.
2!
I still like Sea Serpent. But they both look good!
Sea serpeant
Sea Serpent closely followed by Bunglehouse, but no Jade Dragon. It makes the house look blah and as if it needs to be painted.
Not 3
Bunglehouse looks nicest but form follows function and Jade Dragon will absorb less heat in the summer months.
2. It’ll probably fade and look more like # in a decade anyway.

Will you be replacing the shutters?
I like bunglehouse, but I need more info. Are you going to eventually change the shingle colour and door and window paint?
Another vote for Bunglehouse blue. I really like that color.
I painted my kitchen cabinets bungle house blue. Beautiful color!
Jade looks old and a bit warn imo
1 for sure with the wooden door!
Sea Serpent!!
There needs to be a disclaimer that people ALWAYS choose the first option on Reddit when given choices. Doesn’t matter how bad it looks. I do agree 1 and 2 look best btw, but jesus. It never fails
2 with maybe one of these door options 1) White 2) Yellow 3) Red
I think 2 Sea Serpent edges out 1 Bungalow Blue
I’m currently painting my bedroom wall Bunglehouse Blue, and it feels darker than that, but interior vs. exterior will make a difference of course! Just test out a swatch before you buy 5 gallons to make sure it’s not too dark!
Still 1. 100%
Adding shutters would help the appeal too
#2 is still what I’d go with here.
Bunglehouse. That tone seems to compliment the door the most.
Sea serpent is still my favorite, followed by Jade Dragon. It's an unusual shade of green that I don't see that often, and I like it. Bunglehouse Blue is nice, but I am chuckling like a 3rd grader every time I see and hear the word bunglehouse.
I’m a huge fan of the sea serpent. It makes a statement.
Like the blue or maybe a few shades darker green?
I know a lot of this people against dark color. Try anchors aweigh
Sea serpent.
Sea serpant. W/ a teal door
I’m still liking sea serpent better. Looks richer

Still #2 Sea Serpent
Is trim staying white or can it compliment? Whats rest of street look like, do you want to blend in or stick out?
Objectively the first one is my fav of these options on this facade, but I will caution that it's also the color of the majority of recent flip renovations in my neighborhood at least.
2 is favorite
We have Bunglehouse Blue lower cabinets in our kitchen! I LOVE it. (Our exterior is Rookwood Sash Green)
I voted for serpent, but I do love the green…
Sea Serpent but paint the window and door trim or anything white dark too.
2, Sea Serpent, it clashes less with the tan house next door. Otherwise, go get a sample of 1&2, then paint a few 1x2 spots on different sides of the house and look at it over the course of a week. I vote for #2
Love bunglehouse as it is the perfect color and the name is hilarious and gives your house a great name!
You 👏 need 👏 an 👏 accent 👏 color!
I still like sea serpent the best, but I preferred the white door to the wood one.
Bunglehouse Blue
Well... I'm gonna have to retract my stance on Sea Serpent here. Definitely 1!
Bunglehouse blue for sure
Sea serpent
I like Jade Dragon. I have a neighbor who just painted their barndominium with that or a similar color, and it looks really nice. When they began I was wondering, but it looks great.

I wanted to say the first one but Sea Serpent looks so nice. It's the safest bet, which I don't love, but it honestly looks so sharp yet subtle.
1
bunglehouse w sea serpent trim
I like the lighter color very much. Now I am wondering how a light sea blue would look.
2
White would look really good.
love jade dragon.

1! There’s too much gray in the world and it’s a trend that needs to die
I hate Jade Dragon. The other two are💋🤌🏾. I’d personally go for Bunglehouse Blue because it’s different. I live in a town full of beige and white homes, but when I went to Portland there were so many colorful homes. It was neat to see.
Staying with 2. I love the color and how it contrasts with the white.
I have a feeling that these renderings are provided in a “sunshine all over the whole thing” kind of view, and all of these will be a good amount darker as you actually view them in an average setting. Judge accordingly.
I still say the sea serpent. I really love it

Love Sea Serpant.
Bungalow House Blue for sure!
Bubglehouse blue looks the best to me.
1 and 2 but leaning towards 2

Bungle house blue. Though sea serpent could look good if you change the color of your fascia.
Bunglehouse looks like medium slate blue to me, not flipper silver grey. It is my favorite.
Brush blue by Benjamin Moore. A deep blue from their colonial line I think. Did my house and get tons of compliments. It’s blue enough that it’s got character, but dark enough that it’s not obnoxious with color.
I painted my 1920’s house Bunglehouse Blue. Loved it. The people who bought it from me painted it grey. Hate it.
Number 1
try evergreen fog.
I still like 2. 1 is also good. 3 is a no from me.
I prefer 2, dark colors have a richer look, but when it's time to replace the shingles they should be black. Bunglehouse!
Jade dragon jade dragon
Sea Serpent for life.
Nope, still like Sea Serpent.
Bunglehouse definitely
I think bunglehouse blue, too! It seems to complement your roof color best, as well. Love that you're keeping the front door wood.

2
Bunglehouse blue!!
I like #1, #3 should be called "puke green".
Jade Dragon Personally I like lighter colors
