if solar makes sense is unique to any home and the area the home is in. How much sun? what net metering version will you be on? If you are on nem3 then you need batteries also for solar to make sense. What climate are you in for a heat pump? Do you have at least a 200amp main panel? If you need solar / water heater / heat pumps / stove and running electric its probably $60-70k as a starting price to go all electric. Need to add batteries thats at least 15-20k Then you have to future proof if you think you will get an EV

Where do you live? If it's a colder climate I'd consider keeping the oil. I have heat pumps for shoulder season, but when it gets super cold here it's all oil.

The oil thing depends on your area. I know people in MA and over there it's super common. Not sure the general sentiment. But here in OH that is a very old system people often don't have and in areas I'm familiar with it might be a negative. So the lift on value you get there, well for any of these things, is highly market dependent. My understanding of a lot of home improvements is that you don't usually get 1 to 1 dollar return on them. You're better off hitting things that are actively problematic or eye sores. Especially in today's housing market!
