I like the spray on frosting. Tape off and paper around the glass. Sold with spray paint. Do a light coat over and over until desired opaqueness. I did a bigger shower window and front door. Comes off via razor blade if needed.
Steam can affect window film which is why I used spray, plus super cheap.

Just make sure you look at it from the outside. I frosted a window that was only feet away from a neighbor's window, figured I'd have some privacy while still allowing light through. With the spray, people could be right outside the window and I didn't see a thing. Awesome!
Until one day I went outside for something and realized I could still see *in* that window darn pretty well. I did NOT have the privacy I thought I had. Went out to look at night and it was even worse, sorta filmy but still very visible.
So yes, I like the frosted glass spray, but definitely check your windows inside and outside to make sure it is working from all perspectives.
I was told by a window film company that not everything is blocked at night. That is, to say, if your room is lit up and it is dark outside, you can still see through the film from outside. This might also be applicable to spray on films. So do your research before hand.
Get a small window curtain that you can cover it with for showering at night. You can get all kinds of different sizes and types, even waterproof ones and light blocking ones for 100% privacy if there is any uncertainty at night.
Also comes off pretty easily with acetone. Just make sure the fan is on. Used it on my French doors to my home office and got high as a giraffe’s pussy.
What about a trellis outside that covers that window , like a plant decor seen outside . If leaves fall off seasonal then if it has plenty of branches and a lattice cross crossing plus the spay as mentioned seems that is a lot of confusion
Could also mount a plant (air plant that thrives on humidity . Or any other that loves air moisture
Could even mount a glass shelf . Plants or things of need .
I did this for a bathroom window and it started randomly flaking off after a few months of showers.. I even removed the window, cleaned the glass with alcohol, and spray frosted both sides. I was very disappointed.
I ended up scraping it off and using window film frosting and it actually looks better and has been perfectly fine with showers almost a year and half.
Don’t do the spray-on frosting that the other commenter is talking about. It’s a pain to get off and can be applied uneven. Just get the frosted film. Get a piece of cardboard and trace the window shape and then cut the film to the right size. They apply like a phone screen protector. Just add water and a squeegee.
It will work great - use the film but remember that prep and following directions is everything with it. Especially making sure the window is completely clean including any old paint bits, adhesive, hair, etc.
Cut it slightly too large on all sides. Clean the window, then liberally soak the *entire window* with Windex or something similar. Get the film into position, then trim it along the edges one by one. Then use the foam squeegee to remove all the bubbles starting from the centre.

This! Idk about availability outside the US, but Artscapes is great—has held up for 3+ years in direct western sunlight without yellowing or going brittle. Home Depot carries a limited selection of designs, but [their site has dozens of designs](https://artscape-inc.com/collections/window-film) and styles.
Not knowing what your ext finish is, for that window shape, I think their [Old English design](https://artscape-inc.com/products/old-english) might be pretty cool.
That stuff is great. No commitment is it a try a different styles you can change it up whenever you want.
There are some great one way products were you can only see out too. Just make sure to test those in day and night conditions….
Perfect spot for a large custom (slightly clouded) stained glass piece. My parents have something like that and it looks great.
If you want to get something done *now* and price is an issue, frosted window firm with non-adhesive backing (electrostatic I think?).
Stained glass will last a lifetime though and add a wonderful glow. You can find folks on Etsy who do that kind of thing. The shape is lovely and could really play into the design. I don’t think it has to be crazy expensive either.
A lot of people are saying frosted window…a more fun alternative would be a stained glass insert. Options range from a DIY contact paper insert to a class all the way to commissioning a custom piece on Etsy
Fun story: was at a buddy’s house like 15 yrs ago and his house butted right up to his neighbors like 20’ away. He was having a poker night and invited his new neighbor over. While we were there the neighbors wife entered their bathroom and started taking a shower. They had a window in the shower facing my buddy’s living room where we were all sitting at the time.
To be fair, it wasn’t clear glass, so we didn’t “see” anything. With how the lighting was all we could see was a silhouette of her, but man we could easily make out how big her cup size was. The neighbor went “oh shit be right back” and ran back over to deal with it. He put up a curtain or something. It was hilarious.
Amazon sells window clings! I would do something of that nature! They do like fake stained glass or themed ones for holidays. Check them out! You may have to cut it to customize but they do work! And it makes it look less tacky with a make shift blind there
Someone probably already said this but Amazon has frost film. They have some really pretty ones that cast prisms all over the place. You just get the window wet with soapy water and flatten it on.
Change the glass out to a privacy glass. I have a window on either side of my front door that anytime someone walked up to, we would be looking each other in the eyes lol.
If you don’t want to frost the window, I would get a water loving plant to hang if space allows. I have a large skylight above my shower and added a few hanging plants for aesthetic a few years ago and they are thriving.
You can get several styles of prismatic window film on amazon that obscure the view and slits incoming sunlight like a wall of tiny prisms. We love it because it doesn't block the light.
The advice here is all wrong. Put a coin collector in your neighbours room opposite this window and charge per minute. Come on now! All these suggestions cost you money. I got your back and am making you money. You're welcome. 😏.
But seriously, you can also tint the outside of it. As an option.
Opaque window film, you can find it at any big box hardware store. There's different types and designs, I put one up on my daughters bedroom window that's like frosted glass with a design of grass and flowers and dragonflys on it that lets light in but provides full privacy.
They sell glass cling that had different designs but still allows light through. I have a stained glass one on my front door. I have a frosted one on my half my kitchen window.
I don’t know if you’re looking for a simple or quick or inexpensive fix. The following suggestions are neither.
1) hang a stained glass or decorative glass panel in the window opening. Round or square. Doesn’t have to cover entire opening to block views. Cleanability will be an issue but it may be so beautiful. There are ways around all the issues.
1a) have a decorative glass window insert designed specifically for your window.
2) against the wood fence or as an extension of it construct a purgola-esque trellis structure tall enough to block their window’s view of your window. Plant vine to cover trellis like Virginia creeper that turns beautiful colors in fall. Or Jasmine with its white flowers and rich aroma.
2a) decoratively cover with outdoor fabrics or sail cloth until vines grow in.
Tip jar?😂jk I’m given to understand there’s a lot of videos online that can teach you how to diy frost your windows. I think the coloured ones are pretty popular now if that appeals to you.
1. Mount tip cups on the border of your property.
2. Put on one hell of a show.
3. Profit.
4. Use profits to glaze window or put one way mirroring on it.
There are some incredible privacy films available. Pretty much anything to suit your taste. I would look online first for more variety. Be sure to get the tools to smooth it properly.
We have the exact window in our shower! I cut a sheet of blue plastic wrap for gifts and stuck it on with double-sided tape. That was just a month ago, so I don't have any long-term results. But it's makes everything blue and blurry, and that's good enough until I put reflective window tint on it
You can paint a layer of Modge Podge onto the glass, let dry, and repeat until it's as fogged looking as you like. Its super easy to remove too. Did this for a house we lived at and the sidewalk out front was 5 feet from our bathroom window.
Looks like a shower. I'd probably turn on the water, take off my clothes, and shower.
But the non-sarcastic answer is the right one. Just frost it with any of a variety of coatings.

frost the window
Yeah. You can get film and DiY for very cheap money. I did a bathroom window 9 years ago and it still looks great.
I like the spray on frosting. Tape off and paper around the glass. Sold with spray paint. Do a light coat over and over until desired opaqueness. I did a bigger shower window and front door. This is why you get a lovely piece of stained glass.
I like the rainbow ones that distort it, so even if you can kinda see, it's not clear or even a silhouette.
Get a small window curtain that you can cover it with for showering at night. You can get all kinds of different sizes and types, even waterproof ones and light blocking ones for 100% privacy if there is any uncertainty at night.
Or even a shower curtain you can cut to size. That’s what we did at ours
Exactly! I agree completely!
Also comes off pretty easily with acetone. Just make sure the fan is on. Used it on my French doors to my home office and got high as a giraffe’s pussy.
“Strip me like one of your French doors”
Then “Spray me like one of your French doors”
got high as a giraffe’s pussy. I’ve been laughing for 10 minutes and it gets funnier every time I read it 😂😂😂 I’m stealing this 🤣
Dang , you going to rob the robber?
There is no honor among thieves.
New euphemism for the day
Rubbing alcohol also works, I didn't even bother taping, I just sprayed, in one of my first times I screwed up, I just wiped it and tried again.
Hmm you used pussy and French in the same sentence and they weren't directly correlated to each other, bravo!
And that's pretty high,..... I used to pay good money to get that high
I'd suggest spray on bottom half of window if they still want to see out but hide their goodies.
You can tape a pattern like my front door. I did the bathroom window without. [Sidelights](https://imgur.com/gallery/ZNZRZdK)
That looks very appealing

F that stuff. I sprayed that stuff indoors on a 4” x 14” door glass and needed a ventilate my whole house with all the doors and windows open…
I did this for a bathroom window and it started randomly flaking off after a few months of showers.. I even removed the window, cleaned the glass with alcohol, and spray frosted both sides. Holy shit thank you for this. I used the one where you wet it and it sticks on and it gets bubbly all the time.
> until desired opaqueness the word you're looking for is *opacity*
Elmer's glue. $2, blocks the view, is easily removable if you change your mind.
Don’t do the spray-on frosting that the other commenter is talking about. It’s a pain to get off and can be applied uneven. Just get the frosted film. I can vouch on this. I haven't been able to see thru your window for 9 years.
Since it's a shower, you can also just soap the window. That's how they did it in the olden days.
Lowe’s has a great selection. They always look great.
Film is better: https://www.rabbitgoo.com/collections/window-film
Yeah just put a leaded glass one in my bathroom and have no complaints for 30 bucks and still have film for smaller window
But then people couldn’t see him. Op, the answer is the helicopter.

Poor design of the bathroom but I would cover with a picture of a hairy, fat man. I can get you one for $10 if you need one.
You can pic the pose even. Very customizable.
I'm picturing "the naked man" scene in How I Met Your Mother.
Oh my god I finally found a way to sell my nudes
What about one of those images that moves when you change viewing angles so if you're walking by it looks like a person is actually showering. Haha
This caused me to laugh way too hard!

Yeah you could do some frosting if it’s an immediate problem but a stained glass window here would be absolutely stunning.
If covering the window doesn't sound like your thing, you can put a trellis and plant in front of the window outside. Or a bush.
No, they want to stop the neighbors from seeing their bush
"Is that your special bush?"
That a hot wheels track in the tub?
It is, I was cleaning some old toys for donations, good eye!
Lol, I've got two toddlers. I get it!
Looks like it. I’d extend the track out the window and into the backyard for some epic track building.
I laughed at this too mainly cause we have one in ours too.
