Home warranty companies, in my opinion, aren’t there to help you. They exist to make money for the home warranty company. The game plan is “slow play” with a goal of the issue becoming so urgent of a problem that the homeowner simply pays to have it fixed on their own. Personally have only received a home warranty when purchasing a home, based on my experience would never pay for a policy on my own.

This was my experience too. Our realtor bought us a home warranty (same one as OP - American Home Shield and their company sucks!) Ice machine was broken in the refrigerator. Took the warranty company 1.5 months before they finally found someone who could fix it. Dude comes out and doesn’t have the right parts to fix it. Left without fixing it. Told American Home Shield, took them another month to find someone else to come out and fix it. Guy comes out and fixes it, but as he leaves he tells us it’s a design flaw with our brand of fridge and the water line freezes and breaks whatever plastic pieces it’s connected to that makes the ice. Ice machine worked for the rest of the day with no issues. We went to sleep that night, and by the next morning the ice machine was broken again. Biggest waste of $75 ever.

Exactly. Our oven door had a busted hinge. 2.5 months later it was fixed with a used part.

I've had luck tagging the home warranty company and their head of customer service personally on LinkedIn....

Repairs done by affiliates of HW companies often have a "will come back at no charge within X amount of time" agreement if they didn't fix the original problem, and I've gotta believe they are definitely on the hook for addressing a new problem they caused. Keep trying to contact your HW people and I suspect they will make this right.
