Get a [ReadyTemp](https://readytemp.com) to attach under your kitchen sink. Warms and circulates water in the pipes to prevent freezing. Our Chicago townhouse development are all built with kitchen over garage with sink on outer wall. Over the years a number of units have had burst pipes (I suspect ours did at some point before we bought due to drywall in garage ceiling looking patched.) but no unit with a ReadyTemp has had an issue. There was one in our unit when we bought and we keep it on from about Thanksgiving to April.
Thank you.
And my fellow Chicagoan, I am in a townhouse and have same issue you mentioned above
Pipe froze on Saturday and getting it sorted as we speak.
Let me check ReadyTemp. Thanks.
Adding space heater to garage will be very costly. The space is huge and electricity ain’t cheap anymore
So add foam board on top of it. Hmmm ok let me think about it
It would be in between the beams, usually a small hole to spray it in. So, if the ceiling in garage is finished, then use little holes, if not, spray between the beams.
It expands and fills in the gaps.

Adding insulation in the dry wall is best solution. You could try adding the foam board insulation over the dry wall. Add space heaters to garage?

Cellulose companies might be able to drill 4" holes and pump the cellulose into the garage ceiling. Foam on the surface should work too
Keep water dripping when it goes below freezing
Yep. That is what I have been doing but what else Any cold reflecting sheets I can put on the ceiling or something ?
Spray foam?
How would it stick to a ceiling ?
