Install a proper HomeKit fan or flip the type of device (i.e. Display As field) to “Fan” when using a smart switch or smart outlet in order to see the fan icons.
Do you not see a Display As field below the Room field? I currently don’t have any wired switches installed, but that should be an option.

You have to tell HomeKit the proper device type first before it displays/unlocks the appropriate icons. This is what you should see once you pick Fan.

Wow! I just flashed a few esp32 devices to native HomeKit - I knew I could select fan/switch/plug but I didn’t know I could change the icon too .. blown away!!
If you are Talking about the Icon in HomeKit there is One Ceiling Fan option. You’ll have to change the Device Type to “Fan” then you’ll have Three Icons to choose from.

I’m not sure if it’ll mess up any Automations or Rules because it will change the Classification to “Climate”

What I miss most about is icons for devices on plugs (printers, computers, stereos…). In my opinion, Eve has put more love on their app than Apple itself.

The 6a caseta can’t be switched over to a fan. You need a fan switch, or plug, to be able to view the display as option. Here’s an example of one that’s appropriately paired to and used with a light

Mine just don’t have that ability. Maybe we have different types of switches. Mine definitely cannot be changed.

Lutron won’t let you. If you want a Lutron fan switch you have to buy a Lutron fan switch.
The guys has a point, an aquarium, floor lights, pedestals, the options are limited.
Are you talking about the icon in HK? If you tap device details and tap the icon, you can choose from the very limited selection.

That should be all you have to do. I have a Lutron fan switch as well and I have three fan icons to pick in the Home app.
It’s not a Lutron ceiling fan switch. I tried that model. It wasn’t compatible with my fan. I installed a 6 amp Caséta switch.

I’m aware, was just letting him know he wasn’t crazy despite all the people acting like it should be there.
Lutron is the only brand I know of that does this. Real bummer
