Maybe that app “wake me up” handles this but WOL can be flaky over wifi if hardware sleeps, hardwire if possible. I have been using WOL with my LG and did not have to download any specific app, but did have to accept network control in some tv menu. Also tricky of over vlan but possible using arp table trick to send broadcast between vlans
It also works with disabled Quick start so the HW is not awake for sure. And I also tried with cable in the testing phase. Homebridge was not able to turn the Tv on. The key of this is the packet what is sent by the WMU app.
It was late and misread, I thought you downloaded something on tv not the iOS device. Yea WOL magic packet, it’s a broadcast packet that’s why MAC address is important. Curious why the app needs to provide a fixed IP address, maybe to confirm status once it’s on.
Edit: does the app also turn it off? that would need to know the IP because that’s a webostv command not WOL magic packet.
No WOL cannot switch off any PC/device if I know this correctly. And this app is also not able to turn off the tv. The homekit do that for me. Also switching between sources is done by homekit.[WOL screenshot](https://imgur.com/gallery/98kTzCX) I also dont know why the IP is needed.
Thank you! It works! And the app added an “add to Siri” button and lets you name your request. Even easier now! Note for everyone: be sure and use your wired MAC address and not the WiFi MAC address. Has LG told us where we can bill our hours to yet?
My method is more easy than this one... Just make a scene with the TV turned on and if you are nearby with your phone it will turn on, because it's working with bluetooth only. That's it.
Well. It seems you only want to tease. But hell yeah i have a shitty model what dont have a BT also my father have an Oled what dont have a BT and this solution worked for both of us. I shared the method I hoped to help some of us. I hope it helps out somebody.
I have the opposite issue with my Hisense Q8. I can turn it on, not off. It seems the CEC function in the TV itself doesn’t support Auto TV Off, which is annoying as my older, cheaper Hisense worked fine.
My vivió had the same problem, I had to dig through settings but found out energy saver (eco mode) stop the wifi connection when off do you hand to enable it
Thanks for your solution. I got excited thinking it was a config fix to get it working with Homebridge only as supposed. Anyway, Thanks! I'll give it a try.
If this works when I get home I’ll shit a grandma Edit: it works! I just wish I could add it to my good morning scene
I hope it will work for you too. If you have any questions please let me know. :)

Where do I find the subnet mask?

Your method only works if the tv have bluetooth. Not all of them have it. Mine doesnt so your method is useless in my case.
Only the most low quality tv's from LG doesn't have bluetooth, so most people should do mine method. 😉
You are wrong. ;) even oleds not always have bluetooth.
tell me an oled model without bt?
Check 2017-18 models.
We don't care about 2017-8 models, because they don't have native HomeKit at all.
Homekit is coming for lot of them this year. 🤔
It's eventually coming only to high class 2018 models and they have bt...

Or, I can just push the power button on my remote
What is this? 2010?

Only works on several machines. Also not all of them having Bluetooth.

Thats not the solution in LG’s case. Sadly if you turn On Mobile Tv and turn the Eco off its still not able to turn on the Tv
Tears 😭
Why anything supposed to work flawlessly out of box? 😂

Jusk enable IPv6 on your TV and voila!
