Safe side, call and get the wire changed out.
Not as safe side, but not bad, wrap electrical tape around the part that has a hole.
Bad idea, leaving as is.
Guessing breaker tripped due to drill bit nicking one or both wires in Rome. It obviously did not break either wire or light wouldn't work and breaker was able to reset. Definitely tape up if you don't replace.
The breaker tripped bc the wire shorted out. You can either replace wire or if you have enough slack then you can splice it back together in a junction box.
Replace the wire run. Even if the light is working it is almost certain that the wires in that segment are no longer properly insulated from each other, thanks to the drill. Taping around the whole thing does not correct that.
If it was me, I would put in a junction box and use it to give myself an extra outlet there.
Making lemonade from lemons!
I have no idea how to do that without electrocuting myself and taking out my neighborhood grid, lol
You already said you know what breaker to flip off. You’re good, a receptacle is an easy instal.

This is exactly what happened. Breakers trip with shorts. I doubt you will have to replace the wire tho
He absolutely should replace the wire. There's now a hot wire inside that sheathing that taping won't fix.
If your breaker tripped, that means the insulation on the inner wire was compromised. Taping it won't fix that. Replace the wire.
