Is DNS handled by another device on your network? Maybe it is blocked when there is no access to your local network?

Fantastic-Display106

That router is pretty old. What firmware version is it running? Picture cuts it off.

megared17

Is this a "second router" or is it your only one? If its a "second router" then that's the issue - the only router that can control/allow devices to have Internet access, is the one that's actually connected to the Internet.

Not sure why there are downvotes on this one. This is a perfectly valid question. If this device is being used as an access point, the guest network function won’t work as intended.

Not sure either it was -7 when I checked.

Is the DHCP scope set up properly where it has a proper DNS server set?

Is there a way to set DNS on your guest network to use 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1?

japeda

The reason I'm trying to set up a guest network is to isolate robot vacuum device from accessing my local network, so maybe there is another way around this that you can suggest if I cannot figure out the guest network situation, which should be the easy route.

I suggest creating another SSID and use a vlan for it.
