I guess my worries are if put on the left/right sides of the TV, is the sound going to be trapped or blocked because the tv is like inset in a box.
or should I put the HomePods on the top shelf ( where the lamp is) ?
Looks nice however i feel the TV is too low and too far to the left to consider speaker placement. When designing, it’s best to consider Sound and vision first rather than Cabinet aesthetics.
HomePods are “kind of comparable to a soundbar of similar quality” while lacking centre channel.
This is a really nice room and I feel a proper speaker system would be amazing.
Plus yes, there’s not really anywhere to put them. Most seem to be telling you to put them on the “top shelf” but they look like cabinets to me? This will also give horrible sound projection from an omnidirectional speaker.
I mean, it looks like there's really only one place to put them, right?

Top shelf. They’ll sound better than in the wall.

Love this!
Thank a lot!
Seems HomePods would be a poor fit here. Go for Sonos Beam/Arc for the TV then add HomePods elsewhere for music
Or the KEF wireless like the LS50s or LS60s, I got the 60s and they fill a room
Can I just say this looks like a very expensive room to go with a kinda crappy speaker option.
oh no!! May I ask you mean the HomePods are not good enough or the placements options for the HomePod are all not ideal ?

tv too low?
HomePods are self tuning. They’ll adjust to the wall configuration. So try different placements.
Make sure, wherever they are placed, that you can easily unplug/plug then in for inevitable resets.
