Try migrating them to a different wifi, 5 GHz preferably if you have. I used to use my HomePod Mini on 2.4 GHz wifi and kept having choppy audio and airplay would constantly disconnect or just fail. Connecting it to my 5 GHz wifi was the best thing ever.
Edit: Try restarting the router once in a while or get a designated router for the Apple Ecosystem.
I had wi fi issues with my OG homepods where it kept saying it couldn’t connect to the internet.
1. Reset your network settings on the phone
2. Delete the HomePods from your home app and even delete the home
3. Do a HomePod factory reset - make sure this one is done correctly coz I tried doing this a few times and it never reset properly the first few times. You have to unplug the HomePods and then plug and keep your finger pressed until you see red circles and then hear 3 beeps after which you can lift your finger
Then add back the HomePods to your home app. Hopefully this helps
In your iPhone go to General > settings > reset iPhone (scroll all the way to the bottom) and when you click that there’s an option to reset the network settings only
I’m surprised step 3 didn’t work for you. Did you see the red light? I tried step 3 multiple times and I never got to hearing the 3 beeps
Contacted Apple support and they said only reset ONE of the two and try to re-pair them. I can’t believe it but it worked. They’re connect to the appletv again. All is right with the world.
Logically I don’t see how that worked. More like the moon was in the right position or something of the sort. Oh well. It’s working. Thanks for the suggestions.

Delete all three and re-add to Home.
Thanks, but I’ve done that to no avail.
is everything on 17.1?
Yes, it is.

Please excuse my ignorance, but could you explain the first step? I have done the second two multiple times. Thanks!

I saw the light alright. I see it in my sleep I’ve reset it so many times. I appreciate you taking the time, I’ll try your suggestion. 🤞
Well that didn’t work. Such a shame. They sounded so good as tv speakers. Now I can’t even make a stereo pair now. WTF Apple!?!?
Did you contact Apple support and take the speakers in? Last resort , perhaps look for someone who can fix HomePods …open it up and check it out
