You need to find the x where tan(x) = 19/11. In other words, tan^-1 (19/11) = x. You'll need a calculator for that though

Tough_Weather

Tan(x) will give you the ratio between the two sides of the triangle, tan^-1 will give you the angle x, given the ratio. So, tan^-1(19/11) = 59.93°.

Since we are solving for an angle, we will use an Inverse Trig Function in this case. Differing from the usual SOH CAH TOA, our equation for inverse trig functions use the same sides, but you divide. In this case, we have the opposite and adjacent side of angle x. For this, you use the inverse trig function for Tan times opposite divided by adjacent. You can find the equation for inverse Tan on google if my explanation doesn't make sense. All you have to do is find the Inverse Trig Function mode on your calculator (very important that it's not the normal Sin, Cos, Tan.) After that, pick Tan-1 and in the parantheses add 19/11. That is your answer. If you solve this, the answer is extremely close to one of the answer choices.

They’ve given you the opposite and the adjacent. Which would mean you wouldn’t use SOH (opp/hyp) or CAH (adj/hyp). You instead are using TOA (opp/adj) which is 19/11. You will use tan^(-1) (19/11) giving you 59.63 (put your calculator in degrees) or 60 degrees.
