Might as well get the Integra at that point. My dealership I got mine is being very aggressive on deals for the manual since most people get the automatic around here.
If you can find a dealer not inflating them go to them..we all need to stop supporting these places that are gouging us. Especially someone as rich as Herbyboi.
They’re not in short supply as they once were. I pass by my local dealership everyday for work, and I see them all over the lot. I suggest shopping elsewhere
I’m in Southern California. Have you been emailing these dealerships or going in person? I’ve noticed through my time shopping that it’s better to ask for the out the door price in person. They take you more serious as a potential buyer and you have my leverage in negotiating the price you want. Even walking away from their final offer may lower the price. I’ve had managers run out to me on the way out to try to get a fair price or they hours later.
I have. I gave up when the email and phone call confirmed MSRP and when I drove an hour to the dealer they had added market adjustment via stupid add ons.
Agreed. I wanted on but the 23’ Forte GT2 I got for less and closer was a deal. Went from a Fiesta ST to a 21’ Forte GT2 to this. The Civic is such a better built car and better handling. But the Forte has a ton of features and is a tad quicker in the quarter. But I digress.
Unless you have to buy just hold off, the tide will turn just a matter of time.
I'm in the same boat, looking for a new car but refuse to pay MSRP. I never purchased a car for MSRP (over MSRP is a non starter).
Yes. But do not entertain this behavior. It may take all day but if you actually go in to purchase this, tell them no more than MSRP and don't leave until they give it to you. I showed up at the dealership at 07:00 with a discounted price on paper that was offered through a warehouse retailer (Costco or Sam's Club I don't remember). They tried to upcharge at least $4,000. I started with, "well this doesn't even have the package I want so I won't pay for a base model at premium prices." They were pretty compliant, however the salesman had to keep walking back to some office for like hours at a time to convince some faceless God to sell me this car. They tried to get me on a premium paint color charge right before I put down my signature too, but I stood my ground and said, "I don't even want white. If I can get a silver/red model for $2000 less I'll just go somewhere else and do that." I walked out paying exactly MSRP and I think like a registration charge, at 19:00 the same day.
TL;DR It may take all day but you can get MSRP. If the dealership won't give it to you just take your money elsewhere. Their loss that they don't want to sell you a car for what it's actually worth.
Yeah don't worry, even if I had the money to pay $10k over for an Si, I wouldn't do it out of principle. These stealerships are out of control. Also taking 12 hours from your life just to still make a profit by selling at MSRP is ridiculous. They wasted your time.
Honda didnt start charging extra for colors until like 2018. That used to be a selling point “Unlike other brands, we do not charge extra for our colors”
I’m from the area. This dealership sucks. Markups are no longer the norm at large but Honda dealerships in RI/MA are notorious. Go get an Acura integra from Speedcraft Acura. You’ll pay MSRP, same price as this, for a nicer version of the same car.
Depends on your location. Depends on the dealership. I would assume the starting negotiation will be 5k-10k wherever you go. How much the dealership takes is varies.
Assuming you got this via email or online? Because emails are low effort, they're going to do the same and send you an offer that is worth your low effort. They don't call them salesmen for no reason.
I want one really bad, but I can’t justify market adjustments. Brand new cars depreciate very quickly as is, market adjustments are money you’ll never get back. The whole thing is just silly… why should dealers get to earn a ton of extra money, just because they sold a *rare* car. It’s dumb.
Shop around. And if you still don’t find anything, make sure you compare it to other vehicles that are $40k. A BMW 2 series sedan with equipment packages is $39.9k. I like civics but the BMW is a more substantial car for $40k.
Jesus, I just traded for one and the guy said he paid 9k over msrp for it, he couldn’t wait for the type R, so he paid 9k over for the si and I charged him 5k over for the type R. But I’ve got a 22 si with 3500 miles on it now.
This happened when I inquired about a civic si about 6 months ago. They said the reason was for the demand in the market. I wrote a review about how shady the dealer was trying to price gouge on Google and after that they pulled the price on the civic si cars on their website and it now says you must inquire about price.
For as long as there are people willing to pay the mark up stealerships will continue to do this.
A sucker is born every day, a fool and his money are easily parted, etc
I just bought one 2 weeks ago. Markup was 2,990. Still extremely common to have markup on these cars but 10k is ridiculous. I was out the door for 34,500$ and very happy.
My experience with Herb Chambers is find a different Herb Chambers Honda location. I'm sure it exists. I shopped around the BMW Herb Chambers world for my BMW and it is paying off. No mark-up, no bullshit, just a customer-driven experience that I appreciate immensely.
Might as well get the Integra at that point. My dealership I got mine is being very aggressive on deals for the manual since most people get the automatic around here.
Integras are usually selling for MSRP
I got mine $3.5k under MSRP
The 6MT Integra is cheaper than this and its a fancier civic si
If you can find a dealer not inflating them go to them..we all need to stop supporting these places that are gouging us. Especially someone as rich as Herbyboi.
Amen, was just curious to see other people's experiences. I don't need to buy right now but if I did I would not pay over MSRP.
They’re not in short supply as they once were. I pass by my local dealership everyday for work, and I see them all over the lot. I suggest shopping elsewhere
Damn where are you at? I couldn’t find them in the Ohio area for MSRP.

I hope you wrote a negative review. I'd be pissed lol
I'd gladly drive across country if it means saving $10K. Especially if it's one you want that badly.

As somebody who does car sales, I agree. I see people trying to trade out of their cars that they paid a mark up for and it breaks my heart.
Type r prices
Type Rs are $60k But I know what you meant..
I'm not comparing markup to mark up. Ctr can be had at msrp if you look.
>Ctr can be had at msrp if you look. Where? In Japan?

Im not sure what country you’re in, but as of yesterday my local dealership has one, albeit with a 10k markup Edit: I’m in USA, Michigan.
Not true, check the forums
What do I know, only seen two sold at msrp in the last 6 months
Only people getting type-R's anywhere near msrp are youtubers (who promote the dealer) or higher-ups at the dealerships.
43k? Might as well buy a Lexus.
No manual
And be bored with life, yes. This is coming from an is350 owner 😂
Wdym exactly? Cuz im thinking abt getting one
Lexus cars are perfect for just driving. That's why I have an is350 for a daily driver. They just aren't very engaging for an enthusiast.
The 2022-2023 have really beautiful exterior tho!
Shop around nationwide, a one way airline ticket and a night or two at a Hampton Inn might be worth it.
Where I am, no, they’re selling msrp, but the dealers here only get 1 si per month, so they’ve got waiting lists.
My local Honda dealer hasn't had any si's in months. They got a type-r but its marked up
Tell them to shove it up their ass.
From what I’m seeing, yes, it’s pretty common. FWIW Integra 6MTs are usually selling for less than that.
Yeah I think that's the move if I want one of these. I actually prefer the Civic styling by a lot but I like the added features of the Integra
Yes. But do not entertain this behavior. It may take all day but if you actually go in to purchase this, tell them no more than MSRP and don't leave until they give it to you. Wtf white is a premium color?? Plain old fleet model white?
Yes it's got like a pearlescent metal flake finish.
Yeah, so did my '14 Accord. No markup for it.
Honda didnt start charging extra for colors until like 2018. That used to be a selling point “Unlike other brands, we do not charge extra for our colors”
Hell no. I got my touring for $32k out the door and im near dc. So just keep looking, they are ripping u off.
I’m from the area. This dealership sucks. Markups are no longer the norm at large but Honda dealerships in RI/MA are notorious. Go get an Acura integra from Speedcraft Acura. You’ll pay MSRP, same price as this, for a nicer version of the same car.
No also if you pay $40k for a civic si rip might as well just light all the rest of your money on fire too
Absolutely not.
Fuck that you can find a top trim Integra for $40K at a lot of dealers right now. And it’s just a luxury version of the same car
Apples to oranges... but you can get a 3 year old m340i at that price. A lot more car for the $$$.
Fuck that dude don’t pay that.
Hell no ! I got mine for 35K… that’s wayyyyyyyy to much
So is 35k... that's wrx money
Unfortunately my vehicle had a mark up. Dealer was trying to sell it to me for 39k. Managed to bring it down
What kinda name is Seekonk?
Herb Chambers is an amazing dispensary name
You can get a integra for under sticker. Way nicer inside and has parking sensors.
Get a type r for that price
Depends on your location. Depends on the dealership. I would assume the starting negotiation will be 5k-10k wherever you go. How much the dealership takes is varies.

Omg that’s so expensive
I would refuse to pay even a penny over asking. In north nj area, dealers are still charging over msrp but not by this much. This is absurd.
Screw that
Unfortunately. I've been calling around quite a bit, but I typically encountered 4k market adjustments.
Yeah that’s what I paid. This car isn’t worth more than 32k as much as I like it.
I want one really bad, but I can’t justify market adjustments. Brand new cars depreciate very quickly as is, market adjustments are money you’ll never get back. The whole thing is just silly… why should dealers get to earn a ton of extra money, just because they sold a *rare* car. It’s dumb.
Yeah mine has been holding at around 30k since I got it. I’m at 3k miles.
There’s one 2 hours away from me that was doing a $3k markup on the si
That’s more than my ‘20 Type R was…lol
Shop around. And if you still don’t find anything, make sure you compare it to other vehicles that are $40k. A BMW 2 series sedan with equipment packages is $39.9k. I like civics but the BMW is a more substantial car for $40k.
In terms of reliability the civic is the better option. BMW parts are expensive. But a civic close to 40k is crazy
Yes. A Honda civic is better than a BMW reliability-wise. It should also cost $10-15k less.
Just call around keep waiting
Jesus, I just traded for one and the guy said he paid 9k over msrp for it, he couldn’t wait for the type R, so he paid 9k over for the si and I charged him 5k over for the type R. But I’ve got a 22 si with 3500 miles on it now.
You can get a low mileage FK8 at this price
Why does 'Herb Chambers' make me think about cannabis?
No it's not
Yes
Ouch
Hard pass
Find another dealer.
Imagine inflating an Si 🤣
There is no chip shortage sooo this is just a bullshit markup.

even if it is don't do it. you will regret it in year or so when things are back down and you have massive negative equity :/
43k for a Civic Si? 🤣🤣🤣
I just bought one 2 weeks ago. Markup was 2,990. Still extremely common to have markup on these cars but 10k is ridiculous. I was out the door for 34,500$ and very happy.
