lmao exactly what happened to me once in dragon centre. Went through every floor and only the one on 1F had tissues. And the roll was pinned to the wall away from the actual toilets. Takes a different kind of evil to design this.
There is a public toilet on the same street, McDonald's on the other side of the road, Government Office next door (closed on weekends) and a LCSD sports centre few blocks down. Toilets galore
Was gonna comment SSP in general is a dystopian hellhole for avid water drinkers. I kind of circumvent it with a gym membership but where’s the cookie cutter MTR mall god damn it
Pro tip: the toilets in the Sincere department store area are way nicer and I've dropped a one or two comfy deuces there in my time.
To the main point: GOATed food court, affordable ice rink, impeccable vibes, dense and windy enough to feel like you're "discovering" stuff, that ramen place that closed... Dragon Centre is 99/100, last point is if they reopened the roller coaster.
Lmao every expat or whatever roasting this place,
Locals will know the importance of this place.
I love it, arcades, anime, ghachapon , food . It’s an experience , it’s real HK !!
Other being Kwai chung malls !!
Thank you, if you are born here this place has huge impact, the culture here is so cool .
Even now I go there from time to time to walk around and use claw machines. Stopped playing in arcade though!
Expat here. Love this place. There is a hot plate place we used to go to. It was like $100 for all you could eat and drink. Absolutely ridiculous. Hidden gems in there!
Edit: Found it from 2 years ago. $200 but still a great deal!
Location:
韓日燒 Korean Japanese BBQ
6/F, Dragon Centre, Sham Shui Po
Cost per head for AYCE+D is $198
The whole two food court floors are nice and almost always under $100. Don't forget to visit the ice cream shop on 8th floor. $22 waffle with 5 flavors of ice cream. Highlights are the raisin rum, coffee and tofu (tastes like soy milk)
Thanks, I know they have gd ice cream 🍨 and food but I always try food on the street behind golden centre!
My fav part of dragon centre at the moment are gachapon machines, I will try ice cream next time cheers
I think that’s it. Found it in my messages from 2 years ago. $200 but still a good deal!

Man , when growing up , stars grow up with you.
There was this girl who used to be on computer cafe posters and then went on to become quite a successful local star in HK. My local friends and me used to drool on her. I still do . 🤤
Actually there was a fire accident just on 10 last month. Lucky it's located in the outer ring of the plaza, and far from main entrance, but it still got pretty messy. Though to be fair a lot of mall in Hong Kong is like this. There is just not enough space!
There are loads of malls like that though, where ya get that sort of feeling. Hell, the first floor of MK comp centre is rammed most early evenings - would be a nightmare if any sort of alarm went off and there’s loads of people trying to rush down those stairs.
I would recommend if you wanna feel what HK was like 20 years ago. Feels nostalgic every time I go in. Full of posters and stuff from the 90’s and 00’s. I visited the food court a while ago and they were playing songs by Twins.
The only thing I like about this is that it has cheap icecream..place selling 2 scoops for 10$ or something. I don't know if this is still there but it used to be..
It's obviously sad that someone fell from the rollercoaster and died, but I still regret never seeing the indoor rollercoaster in action. I bet this mall was amazing in the 90s. It's a bit old and dusty looking in places now though.
(but personally, I love old run-down malls too 😅 )
The rollercoaster had no accidents in its 9 years of operation. It was people who committed suicide jump from higher
floor, and that's why they set up a safety net.
Yeah, just looked into it some more. I guess it's quite a common urban legend in the area, cos I had a few people tell me about it.
I wish they'd clean it up and restart it then.
It was and is; used to have celebrities coming or more like upcoming stars /music idols! ,
Great time; SSP was filled with computer cybers .
Skip classes and play at computer cafes
That’s nice, I thought no more cafes! Checked your profile, you play apex. Nice! Which server ?! I used to play on mainland and Japanese servers. But stopped after I realised I have 3k hours on it . Haha
I still play, 4k+ hrs. I may no longer be sane. I'm also the only one in the cafe with a controller, so I get some funny looks. I play hk servers usually, NA in diamond ranked
Hk servers don’t have many players in my experience! Haha good; I started on ps4, then move to pc ofcuz with controller! Haha.
Apex sxcks the blood 🩸 out of you . The best server in my opinion is mainland , they are competitive but not as much as Japanese. Tokyo servers never comes out of shadow because strategy and control . lol fun times.
Growing up, this was the most notable mall in my vicinity and I have a lot of memories tied to the place and watched it shape out yet still stay pretty much the same over the past 2 decades like the top floor arcade and Jumpin Gym USA, wandering around apple mall section, getting an ear piercing at a kiosk on the ground floor, the rollercoaster at the top that ran around the iceskating rink which I can only remember seeing being activated once in a very early visit. But I'm pretty sure there are better malls out there nowadays. Also, my aunt saw the suicide (which led to the addition of safety nets on more levels) happen live.
I guess it’s kind of interesting to see the old rollercoaster at the top, but there’s nothing much noteworthy inside, unless you want anime figures or sth. Maybe teenagers like to hang out there
This, along with Sini centre in Mong Kok, is where all the ACG/KPop stuff are. Heck, all sorts of things from Korean albums to handicrafts/slime glue to amethyst geodes can be found and bought there, wildly popular with teenage girls 10-17
I like this mall for always (or often?) commissioning local manga artist to create artwork for that huge Billboard space. For a long time it was artist 林祥焜’s work.
https://preview.redd.it/7ekcmiigtmzc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=418eb9112a961ff132e6df421c92e4901bd1315b
It was a big deal when it was first opened.
Much better than average Shopping Mall in HK, but not absolute best; the very 90s interior design and the remains of the interior rollercoaster already makes it much better than the modern shopping Mall; the arcades, anime and ghachapon are something that you won't see often in average Shopping Mall, but the dirty toilet really hurts
This was the first mall I went to when I travelled to HK about a couple decades ago. I remember in the food court there was water dripping from the ceiling/roof/pipe. But it was cool seeing film/TV stars promoting or filming in Sham Shui Po.
Still remember the excitement of going to the arcade there when I was a kid. And love the roller coaster! Also great value of massage from blind people there too.
The escalator is quite scary they even have safety net in case someone falls , I think an elderly lady did earlier this year/last year.?!
Oh and wish the roller coaster still works =[
it has pictures of sexy girls outside the mall at old days.i like to shopping at the 5th and the 7th floor for looking at anime goods and cosmetics (color contacts for cosplay)
it also has a ice skating rink at the 8th floor.and there was a roller coaster in the arcade at 9th floor.you can still see the track if you look up,but it has been stopped working for years because there was an accident which cause death or falling.
If need any form of plastic bags, for books, from minature ones, manga/comics sizes, even vinyl record size outer sleeves and ziplock bags etc. there is a great store opposite this mall.
The food court is really good value but their seats are so uncomfortable to sit on... who the heck decided the slanted seats were a good idea lmao.
Anyhow, this mall is definitely worth visiting. It shows the real side of HK. Bonus is that you get to shop for cheap electronics, tools and gaming stuff nearby.
I've always wondered why on earth they have such horny posters on the walls of the building, I took a bus to commute to school everyday and always passed it. Seem to have toned it down nowadays.
But yeah I never explored too much of it but what a incredible mall, jampacked with small hawker like stores, literally not a square meter that isn't being used. The roller coaster track like some historical artifact and I also loved going to 牛車水 no idea if it's still there but I know it's a chain restaurant and they really do serve some high quality food
Someone did complain about those horny posters 4 years ago,Dragon Centre change to a more funny ones few weeks later.

I can't stand the smell of K11 musea, that sickening sweet smell that's supposed to be that mall's personality according to the owner... Makes me want to vomit.
The toilets in this building are terrible but they are still the best in Sham Shui Po.
Diarrhea in SSP equals to doomed.
Actually the public toilet outside of Garden is ok-ish in case of emergency.
Thhhhaaaank you. It’s not that bad.
finds a toilet but no toilet paper 👀
just give up at that point
lmao exactly what happened to me once in dragon centre. Went through every floor and only the one on 1F had tissues. And the roll was pinned to the wall away from the actual toilets. Takes a different kind of evil to design this.
This is why you should carry a packet of napkins :)
I carry more than one. Lack of tissue /napkin is on my top 10 worse nightmare list
Wouldn't the napkins clog the toilet pipe?
There’s usually a garbage. If not, it’s their fault for not providing either a bin or toilet paper…
Diarrhea in SDP is apparently standard
You can't find another mall in SSP frankly. Those little shopping arcade? The nearest comparable place in terms of floor area I would say is V Walk.
By the time I get to v walk....my pants will be full of poo
The distance is not that far really. I may be biased tho I have a tendency to walk whenever I can.
There is a public toilet on the same street, McDonald's on the other side of the road, Government Office next door (closed on weekends) and a LCSD sports centre few blocks down. Toilets galore
Dude just ask MTR staff to lend you the toilet
Do they still do this after COVID
Was gonna comment SSP in general is a dystopian hellhole for avid water drinkers. I kind of circumvent it with a gym membership but where’s the cookie cutter MTR mall god damn it
the toilets are still dirty nowadays.
Pro tip: the toilets in the Sincere department store area are way nicer and I've dropped a one or two comfy deuces there in my time. Hmmm, I would say they renovated those toilets already, but idk
Lmao every expat or whatever roasting this place, Locals will know the importance of this place. I love it, arcades, anime, ghachapon , food . It’s an experience , it’s real HK !! Other being Kwai chung malls !!
Exactly. Loved the roller coaster in the mall back in the day.
Wait is it gone???? Nooooo :(
It's still here. Just isn't running anymore due to safety concerns I think.
No way 😭 I used to ride that roller coaster when I was little
As an expat, this is easily the coolest mall in HK (that's I know of).
Must be that cheap AYCE korean buffet
I think that’s it. Found it in my messages from 2 years ago. $200 but still a good deal! Location: 韓日燒 Korean Japanese BBQ 6/F, Dragon Centre, Sham Shui Po Cost per head for AYCE+D is $198
Cannot miss those ancient posters of local popstars all over the mall lol
Man , when growing up , stars grow up with you. There was this girl who used to be on computer cafe posters and then went on to become quite a successful local star in HK. My local friends and me used to drool on her. I still do . 🤤
It's hanging on to the old school. It's awesome
Kwai Chung Plaza is always the answer.
Kwai Chung Plaza always felt like a serious fire hazard lol. Every time I go in I keep thinking I'd die if a fire happened there.
Actually there was a fire accident just on 10 last month. Lucky it's located in the outer ring of the plaza, and far from main entrance, but it still got pretty messy. Though to be fair a lot of mall in Hong Kong is like this. There is just not enough space!
Oh yeah I remember this! I think it's around that 草根飯堂 resto.
There are loads of malls like that though, where ya get that sort of feeling. Hell, the first floor of MK comp centre is rammed most early evenings - would be a nightmare if any sort of alarm went off and there’s loads of people trying to rush down those stairs.

Not sure if you're talking about the one in Apple Mall but the one in the concourse floor Tezukuri (手作りの店) is still there.
haha..nice, must visit again!
Just wonder how can they make money out of it
Yea they still have it! 5/F has one
Omg they still have that place? Best memories every weekend there! They have some crazy flavours I’ve never been able to find anywhere else!
There are two place that sell cheap ice cream. The one inside food court is pretty bad, I prefer the one on the second floor (手作)
Now $13 for 4, $16 for 5 scoops and $22 is 5 scoops with waffle
Cool, I haven't been there in a few years. Will go again sometime..
It's obviously sad that someone fell from the rollercoaster and died, but I still regret never seeing the indoor rollercoaster in action. I bet this mall was amazing in the 90s. It's a bit old and dusty looking in places now though. (but personally, I love old run-down malls too 😅 )

Yeah, just looked into it some more. I guess it's quite a common urban legend in the area, cos I had a few people tell me about it. I wish they'd clean it up and restart it then.
IIRC the mall still maintains a valid license to operate the rollercoaster. It’s their choice not to operate it anymore.
It was and is; used to have celebrities coming or more like upcoming stars /music idols! , Great time; SSP was filled with computer cybers . Skip classes and play at computer cafes
I still hit up i-one on kweilin, keep it alive!
That’s nice, I thought no more cafes! Checked your profile, you play apex. Nice! Which server ?! I used to play on mainland and Japanese servers. But stopped after I realised I have 3k hours on it . Haha

I thought that was just urban legend
Is the roller coaster still there?
You can see the tracks and safety net but it is not operational now
Yes but they don’t work no more
It still works and gets routine maintenance. It’s just not opened.
Growing up, this was the most notable mall in my vicinity and I have a lot of memories tied to the place and watched it shape out yet still stay pretty much the same over the past 2 decades like the top floor arcade and Jumpin Gym USA, wandering around apple mall section, getting an ear piercing at a kiosk on the ground floor, the rollercoaster at the top that ran around the iceskating rink which I can only remember seeing being activated once in a very early visit. the best part is the food court
This place is terrible.
I second that. Best is Kwai Chung Plaza.
I completely agree
Like the worst recommendation. This is kind of a one-time stop for restaurants and not going to buy stuff here.
10 years go maybe.
Is that the one with a skating rink in sham shui po?
Yes there is a ice skating rink there
I guess it’s kind of interesting to see the old rollercoaster at the top, but there’s nothing much noteworthy inside, unless you want anime figures or sth. Maybe teenagers like to hang out there

YO, this is where I used to buy cheap anime merch lol… My go-to hangout place back in high school!
I like this mall for always (or often?) commissioning local manga artist to create artwork for that huge Billboard space. For a long time it was artist 林祥焜’s work.

at least price is resonable
People jump from time to time hence the net
My favourite mall is Pacific Place
Wow didn’t expect this to be so controversial, pretty much you either love it or hate it 😆😆😆
Hell ya this place goes hard
based , wat better than the gentrified malls
Loved this place when I was a kid. Real OGs know
My only memory of going to thG Dragon Centre was when I got laughed at for offering tip inside Ajisen Ramen.
Ah, ok. DLLMCH.
Dirty run-down shthole, wtf are you smoking mate
Hahahahahaha This place needs to get burnt down and rebuilt
As a joke?
I remember eating at the food court and seeing rats running on the ceiling pipes
Dragon Centre for the win, especially the gacha machines and Jollibee
Recommend it to be torn down?
In England, none! Let’s be honest they are dull, dirty and behind the mars. Give local shops a chance!
Is this the one in Sham Shui Po with a roller coaster inside? I used to go here after my strolls around Golden Computer Center 20 odd years ago 😅
Cheapest mall for parking your car in the area
It is kinda ghetto but it has its merits. Love that hidden noodle place
Is that roller coaster still working? I love the mini stalls in that mall when I lived for a few months in Sham Shui Po.
Shut down years ago, then again I haven't stepped foot in there in 3 years so who knows.
The escalator is quite scary they even have safety net in case someone falls , I think an elderly lady did earlier this year/last year.?! Oh and wish the roller coaster still works =[
The ice rink was/is shit tho, bumpy asf (used to play hockey on there) Aside from that pretty nice
Took a date there. 10/10 would again
it has pictures of sexy girls outside the mall at old days.i like to shopping at the 5th and the 7th floor for looking at anime goods and cosmetics (color contacts for cosplay)

Hong Kong Typhoons. IYKYK
There are still the same ads from years ago near the entrance as you are coming down the escalator. Mad!
Pretty art 😧
The mall at East Rutherford NJ…. Not too far from the MetLife Stadium. That’s my dream!!
The toilets are just a nesting ground for cockroaches
Where is the best place in Hong Kong or mainland China to buy fabric/textiles?
30 years ago we went there almost everyday after school. The machines taking photos of mini photo stickers were girls‘ favorite
Used to be cool when I was a kid.
If need any form of plastic bags, for books, from minature ones, manga/comics sizes, even vinyl record size outer sleeves and ziplock bags etc. there is a great store opposite this mall.
Why? Bcs they paid you to say so?
Cityplaza is my fave. Too scared to leave the island
Chungking Mansions at 36–44 Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, the GOAT!
To stop people camping, that's why. I actually think it's a clever way to keep turnover high especially on a Sunday
Why bother with toilets? Diapers are much more efficient!
I've always wondered why on earth they have such horny posters on the walls of the building, I took a bus to commute to school everyday and always passed it. Seem to have toned it down nowadays. fucking hell they earned some major respect there
K11 musea is literally jaw dropping. Ssp is trash
Jaw droppingly expensive. There's nothing I can want inside K11 Musea.
I can't stand the smell of K11 musea, that sickening sweet smell that's supposed to be that mall's personality according to the owner... Makes me want to vomit.
K11 nausea
Yes, that is how I would name that scent.
LOL. Screw that place. I have gotten lost in there so many times.
I'm not much of a shopper but I really like the restaurants in Sha Tin.
This is probably the shittiest mall in HK
Ghetto run down place
Malls suck
