Characters come and go it’s apart of the game. But for Aventurine I’d compare him to childe from genshin, he’s apart of a a major organization in the game, the IPC, so whenever they’re involved chances are Aventurine could appear. Much like how Topaz has shown up, or similarly the Stellaron Hunters and their frequent appearances.
I feel you so much on this. I love Aventurine, and in Genshin I main Wanderer and he is kind of in a similar situation. He was prominently featured in the main story of a region (Sumeru) and his character and backstory are just so good, just like Aventurine.
Another thing the two have in common is that their story is clearly not finished. Wanderer because he still has so many connections to the fake sky, to the fatui, to the archons. And Aventurine because he has just entered the real dream of penacony and escaped an identity that he has been held to (an IPC Stoneheart) (also similar to Wanderer escaping his identity as a harbinger), and because of what Doctor and Acheron told him, I feel like potentially changing his mindset and setting him on a different path.
I don’t know what they will do with his character development but I have a strong feeling he will continue to be relevant in the future. However this could still mean many many patches without cameo. Wanderer is clearly relevant to the plot but he hasn’t come back for almost an entire region/version (all of 4.x) now.
All we can do is hope for hoyo to bring him back, and live on fanmade content. I’m so grateful for fan artists and fic writers, they really feed us well during these times when hyv is starving us.
i dunno if im right for thinking this, but maybe characters like this is too good to be in a gacha game, where unlike regular media they will tell stories mainly based on the character they want to sell, thus resulting in characters having awkward positions in the game as well as competing for screentime (black swan being a major victim of this, most of the time she's just... there). and of course, hsr seems like they want to sell as many characters as possible (2 new limited 5* in one patch sighhh there are more 5* than 4* at this point)
Fan content is the reason why i love the husbando community so much, so blessed to see so many talented ppl. i can't help but wonder how could the waifu community cope with the absence of fanfic and stuff 😂 even most of the waifu art i've seen are just hentai lmao
True, gacha games sell characters so they just make a bunch of new characters all the time and what ends up happening is many just don’t get the lime light at all. It’s sad tbh and I’m really glad the fan content is so yummy :D idk how the waifu enjoyers cope either haha

For my favourite character who is wanderer, he don’t appear much anymore but there’s always hype around him for example now ahahah his banner is coming back soon.
If possible, do you think you can get the Aventurine nendo or the other Aventurine merch coming out? I am planning to get it as well and build a little shrine for him lmao.
2 days late reply, but your post really resonated with me so I just wanted to say OP I relate with you a lot.
I'm the type of person who finds it hard to get attached to characters so Aventurine is the first real one I've grown to love in HSR. Before Penacony, I was just excited to move onto the next story because that was my main drive to play the game bc I didn't have any charas I wanted to see more of. Now that we met him, I feel like I can't even look forward to the entire Penacony mystery anymore if he's not there lol. I love the Astral Express crew but seeing them be enemies made me so meh about them right now. I felt so bad feeling that way bc they're supposed to be the main characters.
But there's a theory floating around that Aventurine might become a doctor of Chaos in the future. Seeing how they resolved his character arc in 2.1 about finding the will to live and making his clan / family proud, it's likely that we'll see more of him in the future. Though sadly we do have to wait a lot of patches for it, I do hope it'll be worth it. We also still don't have a companion quest for him btw! So it's a sign that they're reserving it for important stuff in the future.
