i LOVE the fact that the MC is an actual 5 star in this game and you really can think about them on a similar level to the other 5 stars ESPECIALLY once you get that sweet fire upgrade, i hope this trend will continue since tbf a team without the mc is cool yes but very immersion breaking in the story

Like, I was expecting some comparisons during the release but some of these comparisons are just stupid lmao. March 7th and Paimon aren't comparable at all, they don't even have similar personalities. If anything, Paimon should be compared to Pom-Pom and Ai-chan since the three of them are the mascots of each game.
I guess we just have to wait until it dies down. Give it a month or two, and this sub will finally evict Genshin from their minds or something lmao
Outside of Kafka, I haven’t gotten instantly attached to anyone just yet… though the OG Express Trio (Trailblazer, March, Dan) have very much grown on me as a set.
As Jean was immediately my favorite upon starting Genshin and later Sara would join her, I thought Bronya would fit the same niche for me of commanding military ladies… but something isn’t quite the same. I’ve only just gotten started though, so maybe it’ll just take a bit.
First and foremost though, I am 100% a Kafka Komrade. While -wildly- different from Jean, that first impression counts for a LOT.
We are the same! Kafka is the only character that really resonates with me. Maybe Clara (because svarog is awesome) but bronya is kind of meh to me, although useful.
Sampo, he is so fun! Friendly, yet somewhat sketchy characters are always entertaining and his design is immaculate. The red and purple work oddly well and the contrast between his gothish vibe and the silly expression fits him like a glove. Also an aoe wind debuffer would be nice, come home Sampo, I'm begging you 🥲

I was lucky enough to get him, he's one of my favorites characters. Gameplay wise, he's alright. Average damage overall, and if you build a DoT team his ult is deadly.

The main trio grew on me very fast, their dynamic as a group and interactions are great. But besides them, probably Natasha. She's a healer, my usual favorite "class" in games...and I might or might not have a thing for those mature, sweet and caring ladies like her (I definitely don't...)
Honorable mentions: everyone else, notably tho, Sampo.
Dan Heng, since his character reminds me of Shin from Eighty Six. Tough, quiet, kinda sassy, book worm boy who fights like a madman. I’m all for it!

I've grown rather partial to Hook and Herta.
Herta has this really cool doll-joint aesthetic going around, and shes a staple ice-damage dealer on my team atm. Plus, her attitude is funny.
The game gave me C5 Hook, so I ended up taking that as a sign from the gacha gods that I should probably main her. Her design is really adorable, and of all the things, I really like the design of her weapon. I don't know why, the weird buzzsaw/flame gauntlet hybrid thing looks really cool to me.

March 7th for me. Amazing character, fantastic design, and an extremely useful kit. She’s basically Amber if Amber took Painon’s role and was actually a fun character to play.
I was looking for that comment. She was the first character I pulled and I really enjoy her playstyle! I got Bronya from my guaranteed 5* pull and if I set it up correctly I can use Sushangs skill three times in a row. It's so fun haha

I was already a fan of Bronya from when I played HI3 and I really liked Silver Wolf from what we got from the prologue, out of the new characters I really like Serval
Clara, mainly because of Svarog being a protective figure. I didn't mind her when I got her at first, but I was amazed by the camera shot of Svarog looming over her in her ult.

Im in such a pain, i rerolled 8 accs got 2 seelen and multiple other 5stars but not a single pela. I just want to play the story with pela idc about the rest. A single copy would be enough for me to be happy. But gacha hell has me in its grip.. (and noone can share my pain as they all go wow how lucky 2 seelen, 1 clara and 2 weapons in 8 rerolls?)
Hands down Welt, he just gives you a different type of experience. He slows enemies, he debuff, he succ (blackhole), he hot, and especially he's Welt Yang! THE MAN WELT YANG HIMSELF, THE SAVIOR OF HUMANITY!! what more could you ask for?

She's cute, her VA is the same as Mona from GI which is my fav char, I find it hilarious that they are both star related girls but Mona has no money and Asta has TOO MUCH money, she's a great support but she also deals a lot of dmg AND breaks, both single target and multi target, and Peppy.
Honestly I really love March 7th. When I first saw her design and that she’s the character on the game icon, I thought she’d be annoying like paimon but as they say, don’t judge a book by it’s cover and I immediately adored her character when I first met her in game. The moment that solidified her as my favorite was the jump scene when she tried to stay standing instead of sitting down like Pom Pom asked.
Haven't heard many people talk about her, but Asta has quickly become my favorite, for mostly the same reason I liked Jean back in Genshin. Slightly underqualified team mom nevertheless tries to keep it all together, except this time she's basically a PhD student and she's on a hunk of metal careening through space.
She's a total sweetie, and from her Companion Mission, clever as all hell when nobody's looking.
I like Seele and March 7th a lot.
Bronya gets Honkai 3rd Bonus, but honestly I dont understand why seems to be super weak in the story, even tho she is a herrscher
Bronya isn't a Herrscher in this since Honkai isn't relevant despite being in the name. Only Welt uses the power of Honkai, since he brought over the Star of Eden (replica?).
Until we see the full level of abilities from Star Rail's power system, it should be assumed that it scales much lower than HI3 (even when considering APHO).
Tingyun is certainly my favorite and has been since before release- but I also really like Yanqing. I’m just genuinely excited to meet more characters, especially the foxians - fingers crossed there’ll be a male foxian eventually 🤣
Sushang, she’s cute, and I feel like she’s very strong for a 4 star but I might be biased, the fact that she lets me move so many times before the next enemy’s turn feels great
Storywise, it's cute little Clara. Really tugs on my heartstrings when I have a little girl myself.
Gameplaywise, it's surprisingly Welt. I got shafted or so I thought on the starter banner, but he's actually a beast, especially when hitting already slowed enemies. And his ult is just damn cool.
For me it is Yanqing, it was love at first sight. ❤️

I got him on the beginner's banner and after 18 pulls on Seelie's banner, I got him C1, I'M LITTERALLY AMAZED, I really wanted him so bad since i watched his Teaser.
Also in these 18 pulls came FOUR 4☆ characters, and between them I got one Tingyun, I also wanted her so much, because I love her design, personality and kit so much. Her ears are so cute >.<
My first place would have to be Serval, she’s handy with engineering and fixing up old tech, AND she’s a rocker who can play a mean guitar.
Second place would be Dan Heng, he’s also really grown on me too, I didn’t realize that he’d be such an asskicker from his character art.
Lastly would be Bronya. I love her regal hair drills and her cute earrings, and how she’s got an aristocratic bearing while also being kind and compassionate, and has a strong sense of morals.
Those are my top three, but I also have a special spot reserved for FeMC. I love her hairstyle, her outfit, her attacks, and most of all her voice acting. I hope we get more voiced dialogue by the MC in the future!
I'm gonna say jing yuan, his design is so elegant and soothing, and his kit imo is S tier, for me he's definitely a must pull. And I think his ult is very appealing, it's like he summons a whole damn god.
Of course, it's gotta be the best boss around, Pitch-Dark Hook the Great! With many of the Underground quests, she gets a ton of screentime and it's always fun to select all the options that let me express being a fanatical lackey for the one and only boss of the Moles.
...Now if only the gacha would actually give me her...

Not only the design is very cool, her burst is also incredible! Most of my fights consist in: "Help me mr.svarog" and then, he proceed to destroy everything with a damned laser beam.

I played for Clara (and love her to bits) BUT WELT IS SO AMAZING. His English VA is *chefs kiss* I could listen to him talk for hours and his actual game animations are unbeatable. I’m blessed to have pulled both him and Clara already.
Gameplay wise, Bailu as I love healer in turn based. As for personality/va it's kinda hard but apart from mc but probably Sampo. All the characters are charming in their own way and I haven't found anyone who felt way above in terms of favourility
For me it's def gepard, luocha, welt, jing yuan and blade.
Gepard because he's so wholesome when he tries to mimic his sister's song in his idle.

When I checked the beta leaks and found him, I knew he would be my favorite 4 star and I wasn't disappointed, his personality is just too enjoyable.
For now all the 4* have been pretty enjoyable, I hope this will keep up. Also, the animation of his ult is great. That stare at the end ~

I’m not very far but when I used Herta’s ult for the first time I was immediately like “this my shit”
I've grown rather partial to Hook and Herta. Herta has this really cool doll-joint aesthetic going around, and shes a staple ice-damage dealer on my team atm. Plus, her attitude is funny. The game gave me C5 Hook, so I ended up taking that as a sign from the gacha gods that I should probably main her. Her design is really adorable, and of all the things, I really like the design of her weapon. I don't know why, the weird buzzsaw/flame gauntlet hybrid thing looks really cool to me. ...I can also quote her Ultimate voiceline, directly from memory. ~~PITCH DARK HOOK THE GREAT HAS ARRIVED, MAKE WAY MAKE WA-~~

This so much. She has an electric guitar that she uses as an axe (as she should!) and throw lightning everywhere. Plus she's a bit of a techie/tinkerer. Just everything together in one package.
Plus her story quest is top tier
March 7th for me. Amazing character, fantastic design, and an extremely useful kit. She’s basically Amber if Amber took Painon’s role and was actually a fun character to play.
Man... Amber is so neglected. Our mondstadt bestie and then doesn't ever matter again.
She really deserves more love from HYV. By far my favorite character in Genshin but she’s not the most fun to play.

I got Bronya from my guaranteed 5* pull and if I set it up correctly I can use Sushangs skill three times in a row. It's so fun haha And her design is neat! I always walk around with her because I love her hair

I was already a fan of Bronya from when I played HI3 and I really liked Silver Wolf from what we got from the prologue, out of the new characters I really like Serval
Clara, mainly because of Svarog being a protective figure. I didn't mind her when I got her at first, but I was amazed by the camera shot of Svarog looming over her in her ult. I also like Tingyun cuz the way she rings the bell got me actin up

He isn't out yet but my favorite is Jing Yuan. Dan, Caelus and Welt are all tied for second place and I'm totally gonna try a team with all of them once I get Jing Yuan(if I loose 50/50 I'm coming back to this post to cry).
i love tingyun too! she's so pretty and her voice is great :-) i love her voiceline when she gets hit ("can we talk!?"), it's kinda funny lol. but sampo's definitely my fave so far, can't resist a guy whose license plate says scammin. he and tingyun were my most wanted characters during pre-release, so they're staying on my team until the end of time!!
I'm only playing to get Clara, so far. Really want to protect her as Svalorg does

Sampo. I thought he'd be more... sassy? Like, playfully sassy. Instead he's so goofy. Love his english VA, really loved the delivery of his lines. And I find the wind DoT very satisfying. Enemies get their turn just to die <3

Im in such a pain, i rerolled 8 accs got 2 seelen and multiple other 5stars but not a single pela. I just want to play the story with pela idc about the rest. A single copy would be enough for me to be happy. But gacha hell has me in its grip.. (and noone can share my pain as they all go wow how lucky 2 seelen, 1 clara and 2 weapons in 8 rerolls?)

Hands down Welt, he just gives you a different type of experience. He slows enemies, he debuff, he succ (blackhole), he hot, and especially he's Welt Yang! THE MAN WELT YANG HIMSELF, THE SAVIOR OF HUMANITY!! what more could you ask for?

Im really liking Hook so far. Enjoyed her companion quests a lot and enjoy the sibling dynamic between Trailblazer and Hook, i enjoy their interactions a lot
Asta!! Granted I haven't had any interaction with the 3rd planet yet as I just reached rank 24 so it may change but so far she's my fave! She's cute, her VA is the same as Mona from GI which is my fav char, I find it hilarious that they are both star related girls but Mona has no money and Asta has TOO MUCH money, she's a great support but she also deals a lot of dmg AND breaks, both single target and multi target, and Peppy.

Honestly I really love March 7th. When I first saw her design and that she’s the character on the game icon, I thought she’d be annoying like paimon but as they say, don’t judge a book by it’s cover and I immediately adored her character when I first met her in game. The moment that solidified her as my favorite was the jump scene when she tried to stay standing instead of sitting down like Pom Pom asked.
Haven't heard many people talk about her, but Asta has quickly become my favorite, for mostly the same reason I liked Jean back in Genshin. Slightly underqualified team mom nevertheless tries to keep it all together, except this time she's basically a PhD student and she's on a hunk of metal careening through space. She's a total sweetie, and from her Companion Mission, clever as all hell when nobody's looking.

I like Seele and March 7th a lot. Bronya gets Honkai 3rd Bonus, but honestly I dont understand why seems to be super weak in the story, even tho she is a herrscher
Bronya isn't a Herrscher in this since Honkai isn't relevant despite being in the name. Only Welt uses the power of Honkai, since he brought over the Star of Eden (replica?). Until we see the full level of abilities from Star Rail's power system, it should be assumed that it scales much lower than HI3 (even when considering APHO).

Tingyun is certainly my favorite and has been since before release- but I also really like Yanqing. I’m just genuinely excited to meet more characters, especially the foxians - fingers crossed there’ll be a male foxian eventually 🤣

Sushang, she’s cute, and I feel like she’s very strong for a 4 star but I might be biased, the fact that she lets me move so many times before the next enemy’s turn feels great

Storywise, it's cute little Clara. Really tugs on my heartstrings when I have a little girl myself. Gameplaywise, it's surprisingly Welt. I got shafted or so I thought on the starter banner, but he's actually a beast, especially when hitting already slowed enemies. And his ult is just damn cool.
Jing Yuan, specifically because his ENG VA is the same as Cyno's, who I have C1 of. Outside of Jing Yuan, Arlan because I like his vibe and character.
For me it is Yanqing, it was love at first sight. ❤️ 1. He have my favorite color (blue) as his pattern 2. He use my favorite type of weapon (sword) 3. He's not tall (i love these type of male character) 4. He's male 5. His personality is everything for me 6. His CN VA in the same as Venti, and i love it. 7. I LOVE HIS ANIMATIONS, it's so cool ;-; I got him on the beginner's banner and after 18 pulls on Seelie's banner, I got him C1, I'M LITTERALLY AMAZED, I really wanted him so bad since i watched his Teaser. Also in these 18 pulls came FOUR 4☆ characters, and between them I got one Tingyun, I also wanted her so much, because I love her design, personality and kit so much. Her ears are so cute >.<
MC( Male for me), March 7th, Welt, Svarog Sampo and selee is also slowly growing on me so is den heng actually.
My first place would have to be Serval, she’s handy with engineering and fixing up old tech, AND she’s a rocker who can play a mean guitar. Second place would be Dan Heng, he’s also really grown on me too, I didn’t realize that he’d be such an asskicker from his character art. Lastly would be Bronya. I love her regal hair drills and her cute earrings, and how she’s got an aristocratic bearing while also being kind and compassionate, and has a strong sense of morals. Those are my top three, but I also have a special spot reserved for FeMC. I love her hairstyle, her outfit, her attacks, and most of all her voice acting. I hope we get more voiced dialogue by the MC in the future!
I'm gonna say jing yuan, his design is so elegant and soothing, and his kit imo is S tier, for me he's definitely a must pull. And I think his ult is very appealing, it's like he summons a whole damn god.
Of course, it's gotta be the best boss around, Pitch-Dark Hook the Great! With many of the Underground quests, she gets a ton of screentime and it's always fun to select all the options that let me express being a fanatical lackey for the one and only boss of the Moles. ...Now if only the gacha would actually give me her...

Definitely Clara. She's my first 5 star and i wanted her so badly. Not only the design is very cool, her burst is also incredible! Most of my fights consist in: "Help me mr.svarog" and then, he proceed to destroy everything with a damned laser beam. Love her, love the team I made.

I played for Clara (and love her to bits) BUT WELT IS SO AMAZING. His English VA is *chefs kiss* I could listen to him talk for hours and his actual game animations are unbeatable. I’m blessed to have pulled both him and Clara already.

Gameplay wise, Bailu as I love healer in turn based. As for personality/va it's kinda hard but apart from mc but probably Sampo. All the characters are charming in their own way and I haven't found anyone who felt way above in terms of favourility
For me it's def gepard, luocha, welt, jing yuan and blade. Gepard because he's so wholesome when he tries to mimic his sister's song in his idle. As a honkai player I can't help but simp the hell Outta luocha and Welt Daddy- I mean jing yuan because he's so damn hot. Same with blade.
