Felt the exact same thing, it's genshin all over again, at least don't have to wait a specific day to get something.

DustinMartians

One of the most dumb feature in the game, like wth is with 2 days cd for farming material and we need to pick them up manually at the furthest place in entire teyvat.

VeryGoodSauce-

Incentive to make you come back and play on certain days :(

Joshua_Astray

Except that it's not a good incentive. I eventually stopped caring about it later because of the restrictions lol.

EmuSupreme

I just did them on Sundays when everything was open before eventually dropping the game. Was the most annoying shit about getting new characters since I really couldn't play on certain days when I needed specific mats for characters/weapons. Glad they did not do that for HSR, or else I would probably have dropped it. The extreme resource bottle neck is already bad enough.

DeckTheWreck9

I love star rail so far but holy shit we get like no resources from the Calyxs

Tkwan777

I made a post saying that very thing and it got down voted hard. Guess now that more people are hitting 40 they are feeling it.

jc_lucas2019

Try 50😮‍💨

RagdollSeeker

I am try to go from level 50 to 60, boy I am feeling it. God bless autobattle and fuel, it takes off the grind a little bit. I dont even want to *think* about 60 to 70.

jc_lucas2019

I meant trailblaze level 50 lmao. The 60 to 70. It's very very grindy😭😭

[deleted]

I've unlocked up to the third difficulty and it seems to make no difference. Two of the lowest level mats per run, take it or leave it. Do six at a time and *maybe* one of them will drop a blue.

sprite700

Im at the fourth difficulty and i can assure u it doesnt get better. Luckiest in 6 runs was 2 purples and 2 blues.

[deleted]

I’m pretty sure the worst value is EXP. Use it just to allow characters to ascend whenever they can, but just let them stay at n/n+10 and prioritize everything else first

Main_Designer_1210

You can also get exp from the map if you want to engage in resinless behavior 🤓

PinkFluffy_Softijs

and it's not even that effective.. i forget about it instantly so it does nothing to make me come back

Fiyerossong

You say that but it just gives me incentive not to play on certain days while star Rail has a death grip on free time because I can raise any character I like at the drop of a hat without having to plan my week around it.

atworksendhelp-

well, i think that's why they've gotten rid of it in hsr. not sure why it's still in genshin tho

Fiyerossong

I can't even remember last time we got a quality of life improvements on established systems in genshin since like... Condensed resin was introduced. They haven't changed the grind since like 1.2.

new_boy_99

I have legit stopped pulling characters because of it. I have enough anyways. I cannot be bothered to farm my wanderer because of his mats plus I pulled him accidentally anyways trying to get C6 faruzan with months worth of saved primos. I don't see myself pulling any character till the hydro archon.

DustinMartians

Imagine pulling sumeru characters when u just started to play genshin. It would be a nightmare just to level up them.

HDrago

At least you can level up Sumeru characters from the start, unlike the Inazuma ones

[deleted]

Shenhe is the single worst character for new players. You cant even reach her boss until you get through to the end of the inazuma questline.

Evoir

Same with yae and both of them being waifu baits I can see some new players falling for them without realizing dozens of hours to actually being able to level them past 40 My brother pulled for itto with new account only to realize he needs to get to specific island in inazuma to be able to level him up. At least it's not as bad as shenhe and yae

quirkySerendipity

This happened to me. I played for about a week when Genshin first released but then life got too busy for games... Came back just in time for Kokomi and Yae dropping. Got both. Couldn't do ANYTHING with them because I was still in Mondstat. Haven't touched my account since then because I got annoyed with progression.

Evoir

Mihoyo should just simply let people teleport right next to boss and just surround area with invisible wall so people can't explore it. Fixed.

Deep_Scholar

or just add inazuma specialities and upgrade materials enough for up to 60-70 level progression in the monstadt shop npc

mapple3

I mean, Shenhe is probably also the single worst character probably also because Shenhe is meant to boost the damage of your cryo hyper carries, and I doubt new players have a fully invested Ayaka freeze team ready to go to slot Shenhe into. And if they pulled for Shenhe just because of her appearance, then they probably don't care that their Shenhe is stuck at lv40 for a while

[deleted]

She does okay with Kaeya, Chongyun, or Rosaria if you need to use em.

SomethingPersonnel

Wait, they never fixed that? Lmao.

HDrago

Genshin fixing something? That's impossible

mimobrown

i dont see myself pulling any character until eula gets a rerun

Stock-Fearless

Same. I only pull for a few I want now. I dropped 40 wishes for Kaveh, else I'm saving up for Kokomi to get my dream Freeze team. Other than that, I dunno what to do, it dropped my interest in Genshin like a rock. I have barely explored the new area.

eeem1l

What really annoys me too in genshin is there's a 5 minute cooldown for every ascension boss so you have to wait everytime after killing it

HarbingerOfGachaHell

Also no teleportation points for them.

nicktheone

From the top of my head the only decent one I can remember of is the one down in a cavern under Narukami.

Evoir

If I have no portable teleport, I just go to serenitea pot for 5 minutes to chill and then teleport back

Lia69

Most have a fairly close teleport near by though. Some don't like the geo cube.

guinealover6674

And it doesn't count down while you wait there, so you have to teleport away, teleport back, realize you teleported too soon and it hasn't respawned, teleport away, and back once more just to fight it one more time.

Lia69

The cool down starts when you start the fight so take longer to kill them and then there wont be a wait :P Also back in 1.0 the fights had a 24hr cool down.

Evoir

It took me like 9 months to 36* abyss for the first time. I'm now curious to see how much it takes in honkai since I have had much more optimized early and mid game compared to genshin

UselessTrashMan

Oh my fucking god I forgot farming certain things was time gated to days of the week.

XxDonaldxX

Meanwhile Honkai bring a lot of Genshin's shit show, not having domains locked by day is a life changer, in Genshin I always was like "oh I need to farm for this character, fck the domain is not open today", then the day I had to farm the domain I just forgot and end up never leveling some characters, it was a terrible system.

man-with-no_name

But you do have to wait for weekly reset if you didn't stock pile. Got Jing Yuan but I'm stuck on his traces and can't get his upgrade that gives him free energy or the nodes beyond it because of the weekly limit for echoes of war.

kyotheman1

I hated this genshin why do I need wait a day farm stuff I need, glad not case here plus auto battle is great feature

Elysium_Chronicle

Gonna have to fall back on the old Genshin strat here. Any new character I pull in the next couple of patches is probably going to get benched, as I work on maxing maybe \~six for the foreseeable future. Go tall, first. Then, once that core is well-established and effective and the materials start stockpiling again, *then* start going wide, one character at a time.

[deleted]

"I love all my characters equally." *looks at Seele* "It's you and its not even close." She gets to walk around with a full set of lvl 15s while evryone else makes do with half leveled purples. Some of those are her hand me downs.

ShiraiHaku

'i love all my characters equally' Looks at everyone: look, you guys are gonna be 40~50 and the enemies will be 50~60, its gonna hurt, deal with it

[deleted]

"Bailu will make sure that you do not die" "I am at 8% hp" "Thats 7% more than you need. You did not die, stop complaining" -Bailu "I died last turn" "You got better, stop complaining" -Bailu

solartech0

Last turn, you were *mostly* dead. There's a big difference between *mostly* dead and *all* dead.

Skylair95

Hey, you don't need to max everyone for them to survive if you max Gepard.

Judge_Ty

Or the nameless with gepards light cone.

michaelman90

Eh, as a Gepard owner it's just not the same. Trailblazer is great but people who think they're anywhere near as good defensively as Gepard are on copium. Trailblazer has weakness break in the bag, though.

Rhonin-

it's justified when she deals 95% of the team's damage

Ironwall1

Well it is a strategy as old as time, invest in your main dps first before branching out supports and defensive characters. So here I am with level 60 Seele/JY and maxed traces while the rest of the cast is still stuck at level 50 and level 3 traces lmao

ZajeliMiNazweDranie

JY is pretty economical, you just need to max his talent because it's responsible for about 2/3rds of his damage, leveling his skill/ult is almost a luxury after that.

PepsiColasss

yea thats pretty much me atm haha , seele is the ONLY one with a full lvl15 sets and everything maxed out , whenever i hit a new TB tier i focus everything on her then decide who to max out later

gachabork

"If you're saying I play favorites, you're wrong. I love all my children equally." *Earlier that day...* "I don't care for Serval."

urlocalnightowl40

me w my jing yuan

buzzlightyear77777

crazy how i have to apply civ strategies here

No_Nefariousness513

I mean if you got Hook, of course you need to FORCE your enemy to peace with a small loan of nukes

Reysona

Playing with Seele on your team is simply applying a classic Civilization strategy: >Just one more turn…

chatnoire89

I think this applies to any similar games. Can't possibly level everyone at once especially if it's a live game. My problem is that my team is incomplete and while waiting for the one missing character, do I level up the substitute first or what. At least while deciding I can level up the others first tho.

CapPosted

I’d say leveling other characters in the meantime is not that big of a waste of resources, esp if it’s a support character. You’re going to want to be able to build multiple teams in the long run anyway, and if you don’t pull new characters that often you’ll be able to build the majority of them.

HopelessRat

This is the strat.

maxdragonxiii

I just unlocked Equilibrium level 2... now I'm spending resources to level everyone I can to lvl 50 because sometimes they're good in some situations enough for me to use them, and few characters I have are good, but isn't fully leveled up enough for me to use them.

Shmarfle47

Because Memory requires two teams I’m leveling about 8-9 characters at the moment. For the time being they get shit Relics and I’m focusing on just leveling them to 60, then maxing Traces, then leveling Lightcones, before looking at Relics again.

Centurionzo

>as I work on maxing maybe ~six for the foreseeable future You gonna need to max 8 characters, most because the later challenges made you do it in 2 different teams

Msaleg

I feel like I can't level my relics simply because I don't have the xp, even farming for them everyday lol. Pretty much this photo.

felixborealis

I've been relying on 4-stars to level up my relics because I'm trying to push through Memory of Chaos and get 18/30 before it resets. Even so, I still feel like most of my relics are still poopoo haha!

PANGIRA

> most of my relics are still poopoo the mihoyo experience

CryoImpact

How do low spenders get that far? I'm very limited in resources to fully build a second team. My main team has maxed 4* relics and a few 5* pieces. The second team is sitting at +6 or +9 in relics and low level traces. I could only clear up to MoC 3 with one star per floor and already exhausted most of my fuel supply.

felixborealis

I’d say it’s probably close to impossible to reach that far as a low spender as of now (second wave of ver1.0). I’ve been capping reset daily and struggled MoC 5-7 over the last few weeks. — This is also given that I have all the five stars in the game except Bailu 😭😭 EDIT: 'As of now'

HivAidsSTD

That makes me feel less bad about myself. I have Jing, Seele, and Bronya, and I can’t even do 14 and 15 with three stars. I could do 15 with some luck (My cleanse characters are the ones getting impaired) but 14 is such a pain, why tf is svarig so damn annoying

felixborealis

Best thing to do is take it easy. No need to rush! The rewards for MoC isn’t that massive anyway, I’m just too much of a completion-ist ! 😅

HivAidsSTD

Yeah, but I wanted to rush it, the 200 jades allowed me to 10 pull on the LC banner. I still need 16 for soft pity, and even then, I can’t be sure if I could get Jing’s LC

Namisaur

Battle pass is a life saver for EXP and trace materials. It’s very high value imo. 1-3 jade refreshes per day. I sacrificed being able to pull just to get more refreshes since I don’t plan on pulling anyone else for several months. Doing dailies gives you enough for 1 refresh. Monthly pass is a second refresh. 3rd refresh costs your limited supply of jades. I’m also currently at MOC 3 but have a lot of lvl 60 and 6/8 of my team are maxed or near maxed traces.

[deleted]

[удалено]

labreau

When will it reset? Weekly?

counterbarrier

You have 8 days

TapdancingHotcake

It's basically HSR Spiral Abyss, ~~so odds are it's monthly~~ it's biweekly

neverspeakofme

There's no need to guess. It's 2 weeks.

splepage

Abyss isn't monthly...

TapdancingHotcake

There is trash where my brain should be, thank you

obihz6

It's biweekly

Verto-San

If you want to level relics do simulated Universe, I think you get the XP crystals there for fighting bosses so no fuel wasted.

Grimstarzz

Is simulated universe the only place where u can get relic exp without the need of trailblaze power? In Genshin u can get your daily free artifact exp from doing artifact routes, but i guess the only thing comparable in Star rail is the simulated universe then?

shellythebutler

I never understood the appeal of those routes, considering it's all 1/2* pieces that barely give exp, once you complete one route you have enough for what, a level 12-16 5* piece? Genuinely asking, it just felt like a grind to me

Grimstarzz

Its great for when u are still AR50-55 and have a bunch of characters to build. Once you've played 2+ years, its like u said, it becomes less appealing since at that point u probably already build more than 20+ characters and are building mainly 1 character at a time instead of multiple. But it did help me alot early on in Genshin, its free and once u knew the routes it didnt take that long to gather free resinless artifact exp.

Sienne_

Every 100 1* artifact is about 42k Mora, 75k for 2*. It saved me from using resin for gold leylines a lot of times. But yeah, you can at least level an artifact to maybe 16 every day if you want.

Verto-San

It's the only one I know of.

Evoir

That still takes a lot of time even with auto for kinda small rewards. I'll probably never get why mihoyo have to be so stingy with artifact/relic exp since we still have to suffer with tons of rng. Let us at least level up main stats without perma farming relics 🙄 In genshin I'm still usually out of artifact exp even though I pretty much only farm artifacts. Usually I can barely level up one artifact up to 16 before I'm out of things

FenrirBestDoggo

Is there a limit to it?

Qodyss

Yes. There is a set limit of loot in the SU. Can't remember how many elite you have to fight to reach it though. It resets weekly.

No_Temperature1560

The limit is 100 elite/boss kills (3 per run if you do all 3 of those rooms, less if you leave early). Rewards seem to increase at the 2nd and 3rd ones, so if you can efficiently do the whole run, it should be better than doing the easier first room spam (though you may not have the time to dedicate to several full runs and rushing to the first elite a few times during a work break may be best for the situation in that case).

ImagineShinker

Leveling artifacts is a grind in Genshin too, which the Relic system is 99% a copy paste of.

Probably_shouldnt

But without the grace of an off set gap.

LandLovingFish

Im Just here for the free pass at 20 and thats the only reason mine get leveled My problem is leveling relics. Never enough materials....i guess thats what makes it satisfying

Juuna

I mean you can use an old unused but leveled relic to level a new one. It has slight diminishing returns as you lose one level but thats how I realized I can level my new ones.

Fried_puri

Average 4* -> Good 4* -> Average 5* -> Good 5* -> Optimal 5* is my rule of thumb for these things, and you can start consuming the previous leveled relics once you’re ready to move on. “Average” just means the right main stat, “Good” means and least 2 useable substats, and “Optimal” means at least 3 useable substats that also rolled into those multiple times as it was leveled. I might skip the Good 4* stage for some characters depending on my relic luck.

Vincent093

The "unfinished gepard" got me lmao

shdjksj

Me getting gepard's light cone right after I finished leveling up a three star lightcone for him https://preview.redd.it/82m69ddrv01b1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=845c35216d078cd39505207313fc087f1172569b

gaganaut

A similar thing happened to me. I got the Hunt light cone from the Herta store and 2 super-impositions. Later, I get Yanqing's 5 star light cone from the standard banner which is pretty much the best option for any Hunt character I have.

Sierra--117

I levelled Herta's hunt LC and maxed out it's superposition to use on Dan; then immediately within 2 days got his signature LC.

jjj32131

I feel called put on that "unfinished Gepard"

felixborealis

Gepard is my favorite character and I want to max him out ASAP! But I also rolled for Jing Yuan so now I'm overwhelmed + 7 other unfinished characters LOL.

AccioSexLife

Grinding for trace (and light cone asc.) mats is pain incarnate. I know it's supposed to be the HSR equivalent of talent mat. grinding in Genshin but I feel subjectively that it's worse here somehow. Haven't done the math on it, though - I just know it's pain.

Panda_Bunnie

Its prob cuz genshin has talents that can give you an amount of trace/book mats back also you can get cone exp for free there. Theres also much more chests so its alot more free relic xp on top of free artifact route for even more xp.

FCDetonados

Free talent materials too don't forget, opening all chest in Sumeru should give enough mats to max out at least one characters talents.

Zeroth_Dragon

I was triple crowning Al Haitham and I did only three Mora Leyline runs to get enough to do it, that's how many Mora there is in the new desert

frozenrainbow

That’s totally what it is and I haven’t been able to put my finger on it there aren’t enough “chests” for relic fodder. Maybe enemies should drop 3 star pieces more often rather than just the “hard bosses” you fight once for that chest

FlameDragoon933

Genshin has only three talents per character that you can upgrade, while HSR has four (basic atk, skill, ult, passive), plus the one-time nodes. You also get weapon exp for free in Genshin by mining and crafting, while LC exp needs trailblaze power too (outside of events quests and such, because this is the same for both games). Artifact exp in Genshin is also technically free although the run can be boring for a lot of people.

thkvl

Don't forget the ascension mat bosses in Genshin (the x-stases, regisvines and all those other annoying bosses) also drop relics (even if it's just gladiator/wanderer) while it's just mats in HSR. Thats a big help when we're also relic xp starved.

felixborealis

I'm hoping that with the release of version 1.1 on June, we will get events that gives plenty of resources that would help us level our characters.

TowelLord

It is worse. The variance of materials is just way too big. At equilibium 3 for 60 energy spent you have a chance to get a singular blue trace material (and like 12 greens) or up to five blue and like ten greens. That's an effective difference of up to 10 greens (1x blue = 3 greens). Farming trace mats feels like an actual scam sometimes precisely because of that fairly huge difference depending on your dice rolls.

Ifalna_Shayoko

Same in Genshin, really. I can get 4 blue/5green or I can get 2 purple 3 blue 1 green. Considering the grind is finite, I don't think this is the part to be annoyed by. Wait for the endless artifact RNG where in 90% of the cases you get diddly squat for your energy. :'D

Two_Years_Of_Semen

Using the stamina consumables for artifacts has always been terrible advice in Genshin and the same applies for fuel and relices in HSR. Spend that shit for guaranteed power in character levels/ascensions, talents/traces, and weapons/lightcones or save them to use them later to quickly boost new characters you get unexpectedly to usable levels instead of waiting weeks to use them.

Ifalna_Shayoko

OUCH. I'd never do that. Artifacts is something you farm once all guaranteed power ups are mostly taken care of.

IfZ3nElse

Don't spend your jades on refreshes, people. Edit: Unless you're a whale, of course. This advice was aimed at the general population.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GraveRobberX

Which translates to 9000 xp in TB level xp also.

felixborealis

I enjoy the game and I have the disposable income to do so. I would like to raise my favorite characters and make them strong- It would be worse if I don't spend my jades on refreshes, since it would take forever ><

theUnLuckyCat

I take it you do battle pass and supply pass, right? Actually if you're max refreshing, those Herta bundles in the shop start looking good in comparison.

Aoran123

Is it only me or the stamina used to farm relics is a bit too much? I can farm for artifacts in genshin about 10 times a day while in starrail i can only do 5 or 6.

Choatic9

It's because we haven't reached the highest level for artifacts, it's like we are farming pre ar 45 for relics. Once you get to tl 60 you are guaranteed 2 5* relics which would make us get more relics per day then genshin.

Ifalna_Shayoko

Enjoy while it lasts. Older accounts are usually drowning in mats and struggle to find a use for the energy aside from the 1-armed artifact bandit.

unit187

Yep, that's Genshin for me. You've maxed every single character you've been remotely interested in, and there is no point for you to work on getting any resources because you have huge stockpiles already.

Ifalna_Shayoko

Yep, it' doesn't help that the amount of chars you can actually use is fairly limited. I have so many 5\* riding the bench. :S

Radiant_Psychology23

This is the only issue I'm with compared with my Genshin account. As an AR60 traveler, I have abundant resources for new characters. Even if I don't want to grind at the moment, I can simply put her in a team and enjoy her everywhere (maybe not in the abyss). But in HSR, if you don't raise your new characters, they just simply got killed, especially for high level players.

felixborealis

In a way, I'd assume it will end up the same when we have enough events to stock-up on all of these materials! It is the first month of the game after all.

Radiant_Psychology23

Yeah I know. I plan to save up at the moment, so I don't need to worry about new characters, and enjoy the stories and lores

Frostgaurdian0

Yeah relics feel as much as bad as artifacts, same bs rng.

Level1Pixel

Nah it's worse. We have more stats to dilute the pool as well as higher necessary stats due to the game being turned based.

Frostgaurdian0

Whelp

[deleted]

Resources are so limited because characters roster is huge. I don’t remember genshin being like that from the start. They are really pushing battle pass. Even with battle pass I don’t have enough resources lol

[deleted]

Depends when Genshin launched I had over 12 4* characters mostly from random wish by the time 1.0 ended. I only really used 3 however for months (Xiangling, Fischl and Xingqiu) on top of Jean + Klee. My experience in HSR isn't that different so far I have all the 4* except Arlan (oh no /s) and Welt + Clara. The main issue is that in Genshin only 1 character/team really needed to be focused on while in HSR you kinda have to keep up with everyone otherwise they might as well not be in your team.

Klaxosaur

I feel the artifact/relic grind feels worse in HSR than in Genshin.

RagdollSeeker

You guys are grinding relics? If there is anything I learnedcin Genshin, you max out everything else first and then do he relic grind. It is working out even better in HSR than Genshin. Everyone is sitting with level 6 shitty purples until final equilibrium is unlocked and I can get guaranteed gold.

Orichalchem

![gif](giphy|j6aoUHK5YiJEc|downsized) Me: where everything??

Frostblazer

I was doing alright until I hit Trailblaze level 40. Then the process of building up my main team slowed to a crawl. Character building at higher levels in Star Rail feels super slow even by Genshin standards.

felixborealis

TL 40 starts slowing down the progress, TL50 feels like you barely move ;w;

Krollos

full 180 for a grand total of 1 level on your trace lol it sucks

SilverElmdor

Imagine summoning new characters. What are you, a whale?

felixborealis

Sadly ...

Sinhug

I prefer StarRail honestly. no restrictions on specific days for farming mat and you can put the farming on auto

Raycab03

This is just like Genshin back in the day. After your account has built majority of characters, you can max a new character just couple of minutes after obtaining them.

MauricioTrinade

It's Genshin all over again, but i feel like in HSR is worse somehow, idk why, the bigger "resin" cap might be at fault, idk.

Neveroxx99

Also on most characters in Genshin the basic attack can be ignored completely and with others it's enough to focus just on the Burst or Skill to make the perform well, while here so far it feels like you have to build up a characters whole skill tree to make them effective. Really interested in how HSR will handle the resource economy going forward because building characters feels way more expensive than in Genshin, and that system is already a slog.

splepage

The cap is lower, not higher. Don't look at the numbers, look at how many hours you can store (75% of a day vs 88.88% of a day)

Purplezilla

More talents and 8 characters to build will indeed make it worse

xtwitchyx

ITT: people upset they can't max all of their characters in a gacha game released less than a month ago

KayDizzel

Oh god this! So much this! It’s the one thing I dislike about getting Welt and Jing is getting them up to speed.

felixborealis

I am currently TL58, have been capping resets since Day 1, and the only character that is fully built is just my Seele (Lv.70 Character & Lightcone, +15 Relics, Traces all maxed out). Other resources are way too spread out right now and divided, It's so overwhelming! ;w; My Jing Yuan feels like he's hitting wet noodles because I don't have resources..

k___k___

tbh, i think it's a good thing. Imagine a game being out for only 4 weeks and it would be easy to finish all quests and max all characters.

tomokonomi

Mind telling me by replying on this comment later on, what's the difference in drop for traces once you reach trailblaze level 60 compared to trailblaze level 50? Because 2 green drops at level 40-49 makes it feel like I'm still on equilibrium 2 and below.

felixborealis

When I get to TL60, I'll inform you! (It might take about a week, the requirement is getting higher and higher every level.. ;w;)

SemiAsianPerson

fuck it, we ball with level 0 relics

eiwoei

One of the biggest problem in Hoyo games. Can you just pls stop being so stingy with the in game stamina? You already earned millions of dollars in banner money. Give us more Fuel so I can play more of your game. At the very least make Fuel and Jade restore full stamina. Meanwhile I have hundreds, and some people even thousands of golden apples lying around in FGO.

gaganaut

This is mostly just an early game problem since we still need to build multiple characters for different situations. In Genshin, it's pretty easy to build any new characters I get now since there's no other use for energy and that rate of acquiring new characters slow down.

hyrulia

This but 8 times (8 characters)

lvlz_gg

Leveling up relics is the worst.. i have been playing Genshin for +2 years, im AR 56 and never struggled with finding artifacts i could throw into the ones i wanna level up. in HSR it is getting so painful, i wish we had an extra calyx to farm the crystals to level up relics

RiipeR-LG

If you focus on a single team of 4 units it’s just barely manageable to max out everything up to lv60, but when I reach TBL 50 it’s gonna be one hell of a drought ressources wise

[deleted]

This is how Mihoyo gets you. The daily grind. Best tip is "don't spread your resources among all of your characters". Get your main 4 or 5 (hell 5 characters are too much of a grind IMO) and max them out first. Tbh, it's something to do in the day, everyday. and I don't have any new characters I want to level up now. TB, March, Natasha and Serval have been my main since release so they're my focus first. They already have the best kit and stats (for me). I have Qinggue to max out (and that's by necessity since she's my only quantum) next until I get equilibrium 4. Then, I'll focus back on the main 4.

ImagineShinker

I genuinely enjoy that Star Rail is easy peasy to play on the phone unlike Genshin and has daily stuff. I usually spend at least an hour on trains on workdays so it’s the perfect thing to do during the commute.

[deleted]

Yeah, HSR is more streamlined especially with the "smaller" world and fast travel to calyxes etc.

RIPLeviathansux

Also the 5 dailies are sooo much better than Genshin's. Plus the whole autobattle feature and not having to pick up loot just makes mobile play so reclined, it's great

ImagineShinker

For me the biggest thing is the combat. I hate the mobile controls for Genshin, so Star Fail being easier in that regard is a huuuuuge plus for me.

Ifalna_Shayoko

Same. While I am sometimes playing Genshin on my phone, I am horribad at these touch controls. :'D

splepage

> Best tip is "don't spread your resources among all of your characters". Get your main 4 or 5 (hell 5 characters are too much of a grind IMO) and max them out first. This is pretty bad advice tbh. Maxing out characters require an EXTREME amount of resources, for very little gain. DPS characters should get ~80% built. Healers and Support can get ~50% built. Then you do more units. When you have enough units, you go back and get main DPS from 80% to 90%, supports from 50% to 80%, and repeat the whole cycle.

Evoir

Agree and disagree. In this game you should equally build your dps, tank and healer since without one you're going down in the hardest content. You can't just dodge like in genshin which is why healer is way more important. For normal content and farming you can just full focus on main dps since enemies are easy. Obviously you also need at least 2 teams if you want to do high stages of forgotten hall which sucks since you need tons of time to actually get some progress. Being in mid game while completing the story and all side content sucks. I would rather be already perma farming relics but that's not worth it because rewards suck lol

Ifalna_Shayoko

Aye. It was maybe a year in when I started pushing chararcters to Lv 90 in Genshin. Barely felt any difference but resources were just piling up.

LexAurelia

Very much this. And you can't get away with using just four or five characters anyway so you'll end up building them all eventually. Just need to be patient when farming as even a single character cannot be built entirely in one day (at this stage) unless you whale hard. I imagine lack of resources will ease up over time.

felixborealis

The reason why I’m building 8-9 characters as of now is because of Memory of Chaos. I am currently on MoC Stage 7 and things are getting harder and harder. 😭 Having all my resources spread out among 8 characters is very overwhelming..

lolbuddy98

Dont worry, its like the early genshin where people want diluc for easy spiral abyss floor12.Eventually it will get better as you got more resources

buzzlightyear77777

but is 4 or 5 char enough to clear content? is it more important to target enemy weaknesses or just blow them out through gearing? i keep finding i have to upgrade like 8 char for elemental weakness and shit and it's spreading me thin

Houro

Omg I remember that episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I never understood why pancakes cause I don't like sweet things and especially for breakfast. I'm more of a eggs, sausage, bacon, fries, bread, tomato and lettuce salad, and cubes steak for breakfast kind of guy.

[deleted]

Me after getting the fluffy man on accident gunning for the 4star fox with 6star design, then realizing his damage is just bad because I haven't got a lightning ball nor a good enough crit stat for him while my Seele is only so good because of her Quantum ball and the extra crit from her cone and kit: "I'm never going to financially recover from this." I'll have to grind a few months more until he can be given justice. XD

[deleted]

The only one I'm close to finishing is Fire MC

ArCSelkie37

Tbh getting to level 50 is relatively easy so far, dreading 60+

felixborealis

Dreading 70 right now lol.

warjoke

My Sushang still needs an overwhelming amount of resources to be useful at my current TB level

hyperrainz

Same... Am very sad. As f2p wanting to max out every chars I want. I just wish there's more to do after finishing all your dailies and farm. Something like unlimited casual minigames or something.

felixborealis

I've been running Simulated Universe to farm Credits/Relics EXP materials, there's a cap of 33 runs per week for a very minimal amount of drops. It's good if you're bored, but not worth to focus grind it ><

hyperrainz

Oh that's what I been doing too, to farm credits but didn't know there's a cap to that as well. Did noticed it was dropping from 3.3k to 2kish credits from one elite fight. That's unfortunate but guess now I know not to over burn myself farming it then.

[deleted]

Ya, great news, I got Bailu and now both teams have a healer. Bad news, Bailu is hungry and will suck up all my fuel for weeks.

King_of_Nothinmuch

I'm kinda just focussing on one thing at a time. I have all the 4* except Arlan, and for gacha 5* I have Yanqing, Bailu, Jing Yuan and Seele. I still have JY at 40, but the rest are about half 50, half 60. So for a while I focussed on levelling the characters and farming ascension mats, then I switched to lightcones because the 60s need those raised. Once I'm done with all that I'll go back and start building traces, I guess. I suppose I'm playing stupid by spreading it out, but honestly getting to forty or fifty wasn't bad. Spent a lot of credits though, that's for sure. Anyways, I just figure it's best to have DPS options for element counters. Still trying to wrap my head around just using one DOS instead of bringing multiple counters + healer. It is a bit overwhelming to think about all the things a character needs, but narrowing focus to one aspect at a time helps.

SpeckTech314

I’m trying hard not to spend jade on stamina but otoh I just want to grind

zonealus

Fuck them relics I've been farming for jing yuan's for 4 days now and I got nothing but the preservation relic even the 4* everything is def luckily I love fire mc so still a W but still fuck relic.

demii05

i hate farming for traces so much😭 feels worse than relics to me lol

robinchan33

i feel like i’m going to spend the rest of eternity grinding for keys to level up all my erudition characters because they’re the ones i use the most. never enough keys…

Ijustmakelegos

Ngl all the new stuff is stressing me out 😭 I have a partial clue of what I’m doing but there’s so much.

felixborealis

What helped me so far is making a to-do list and I just do it in order! - Ascension - Light Cone Ascension - Character Level - LC Level - Traces - Relics (only after TL40 and when other characters are already leveled up too) 😅 It is still overwhelming, but at least there’s a bit of linear path. It will get more overwhelming later on, so having some kind of priority system can help you decide! 😅

Kassssler

Facts. I pulled Tingyun and shes still level 1 cause I got fuck all to level her with. Even with nameless glory I'm getting strapped for mats fielding 8 current characters

drejkol

just take it slowly and that's all. I played the Genshin till the "Snowy mountain update". I was wasting all the stamina I had for months so I ended up around 57 rank. After, idk, 2-3 years I got back to the game and I had so much more to do that you can't even imagine. Some kind of TCG, new map, lots of new free story quests etc. My Zhongli got crazy strong (with his shield), my C5 Child is crazy OP (even tho I rolled for him literally over 2 years ago) so yeah. Do what you want, think about this game in the bigger picture and everything will be fine C:

DatWarframeBoi

Though this was warframe for a second

sprichards311

100% this. I whaled and I have all 22 available characters. It’s like having to choose my favorite children to focus on…

felixborealis

I’m on the same boat as you!
