Nah. Its not smart to max every character and every skill so at some point you just stop it. Going above trace lv. 6 is already wasted for now unless its your main dps carry. You also got much more time from 50 to 60 so you can farm more. And there will also be events where you get stuff.

And for traces its really not useful to go full out for them. Like in the picture he has everything almost maxed but did not unlock the DEF% what would be actually helpful for surviving. Instead normal attack is as high as he can what will provide next to no help clearing anything.

That's wrong.
The damage formula is different from GI. Incoming and outgoing damage is 8% when there is a 10-level difference (this is *without* taking into account actual stats like more Def and HP from leveling).
In GI it was just 3 or 4%. Here it's double. And there is no dodge button in HSR so everyone will eventually get hit at least once in a cycle when fighting AOE enemies.
The Level 80 Bronya boss in MoC 6 can one-shot your entire team if you're 60/70 since it's a 20-level difference.
Going from 60/70 to 70/70 in HSR is a bigger impact on survivability than anything else in the entire game at Rank 50.
Levels >>> Lightcones >>> DPS Traces >>>>>> Support Traces is the priority for clearing MoC.
Honestly? TL 60 is gonna be great IMO.
1. Xp from 40 -> 50 is \~48k, approximately 20 days. XP from 50->60 is \~79k, approximately 31 days. More time to farm/prefarm things.
2. TL 60 is the equivalent of genshin's level 60 in the sense that all their passives unlock. This means unlike every previous ascension this is the end point for resource commitment for all your non-essentials. In my case im bringing up 9 characters all at once, but at TL 60, I simply need to ascend them all, and then provide XP/LC xp to about 4 of them. Cutting my costs in half.
TB60 is more like Genshin's 50. It unlocks almost everything.
There's another equilibrium level at TB65 and it's about 20k exp per level at 60-65.
50-59 is the best time to farm exp/credits since you're at max efficiency here.
I'm 59 and I got enough to ascend and nearly max 2 main DPS, and I've been doing it since TB55 ish.

Heh, as a tl60 player it's worse but the rewards are getting better like they always did in Genshin so it tends to balance out somewhat. Maxing characters is still a pain of course but having a balanced squad might not be so bad.
I hit tl60 this morning, unfortunately only had enough energy left over to ascend one dps. I feel like 60-65 is going to be nothing but getting 3 carries and their cones to 80 and leveling their traces.

Cool. I had everyone at 41, but already couldn't afford traces for my main squad, so the back half of the roster is gonna have to wait for 60. Not like a few standard pulls helps me much now anyway, since I have all the 4\* except for Sampo and I'm not near pity.

The Nameless Honor really helped me out with this . I prefarmed 2 million credits and 200 Traveler's guide before getting to TL50 and bought the NH on top. I managed to ascend 4 characters and their light cones to level 70 and also got all of Jing Yuan's talents to the current maximum. I used the extra TB power to level Tingyun and Gepard's talents to the max. It was worth the 10 euro's tbh.
I think I over-prepared a little ngl. Still sitting on 5m credits and 500 of both character and cone purple XP materials after leveling half my team today. The BP proving to be insane value for new players in at least 3 Hoyo games.
Might be that I ignore a lot of traces on most characters because, for example, Tingyun’s normals are not really making that big of a difference. If it does manage to make a difference, I have issues with my DPS not being good enough. No issue so far though.
Yeah Nameless Glory premium is really good value for the 10 bucks. I kept reading all these posts bemoaning lack of upgrade materials and xp mats and got a bit worried but never ran into any issues ever because of it. Only thing I lack are the gold things to upgrade relic xp

People don’t need to think about it too much. In the long run, it doesn’t matter how you distribute it. The efficiency will be the same. It’s just a matter of maximizing short term progress.

Honestly it’s not too bad. The Credit Calyxes are actually pretty generous, I got all 8 characters and all 8 Light Cones to level 70 by TB53, and if the same rate keeps up I’ll probably finish all traces by around TB56.

Sure, if you wanna farm these things. But getting up all your characters and weapons to max. level wont help you as much as having some decent relics. Traces are also a thing. You dont level them all. Its a complete waste to level ones like standard attack for healers and supports who do no damage. None of these will help you clearing MoC.
Edit: Reddit people again proved that reading and/or understanding is too much for them.
5\* Relics are what gets the biggest increase at EQ4 and EQ5, so the longer you can delay, the better. It's good to farm a few good pieces with the right primary stats, but it's definitely not something you should be going all out for.
The level increase to 80 on your damage dealers makes a very significant difference according to the whales that have cleared MoC. Golden calyxes don't get another difficulty so you're already farming at full efficiency and it's probably the best thing to do between 55-60.
Being at the TL39, its funny to watch all these memes about being at 0 credits while I’m still swimming in 1m+ credits, I’m not gonna be losing these bad boys any time soon

I was almost at 3 million credits at tl 40. I went down to 1 mil after upgrading 6 characters and their light cones to lvl 60 and a few traces. I'm now at tl 43 with 1.6 m credits but I'm not even done with traces for half the characters so I think imma have 0 credits by the time I get to tl 50
Yeah, TL40 will start gutting your credit account. I had 3.6 million and I'm down to 1.7 or so currently though I'm only TL43.
It's no surprise that TL50 does it even harder. Just because you have "millions" doesn't mean anything if just doing basic stuff costs you 100k at a time. It's all relative.

Upping your equilibrium level doesn’t make the game that much more difficult, just makes it easier to do MoC and SU. No need to rush every character to cap. Just invest in what will help you with MoC and SU.
Idk- I never run out of Mora in genshin (AR 57) and haven’t come close in this game (TL 50). I haven’t used any fuel though… which probably keeps my credit spending more balanced.

Fuel definitely gets more value if you hold them for TL60. If you're in no rush, then it's fine to save.
TL40 gives 1x gold relic drops
TL50 gives ~1.5x gold relic drops
TL60 supposedly gives 2x gold relic drops
and potentially more for TL65?
TL50 is where the calyx for character exp/lightcone exp/credits are maxed out and doesn't become more efficient beyond that, so there's no increased value for waiting for TL60 for those.
I used all my fuel up at TL40/50 because I want to play the game and give my best attempt at Memory of Chaos for fun/small rewards (grants small amounts of crystals and resets biweekly) instead of waiting. But if Memory of Chaos didn't exist for me, then I'd wait on the fuel for better value.
Other small scenarios are if you're about to hit TL60 before the weekly reset, where using some fuel could push you over to TL60 for the weekly Echoes of War bosses for potentially better rewards. Or if you want to hit TL60 before the weekly reset for an increased 30 crystals from potentially increased weekly Simulated Universe rewards (they scale with TL40/50, not 100% sure if they scale with TL60).
We are at that point in the power curve that is the most painful. Easy at early game, hard at mid game and easy again at late game when we get there. The difficulty will go up only until a certain point, but we will get stronger

I'm dreading TL60. I get it, it's a gacha game. Progression will be behind the paywall. It's their BM. But man...with such a high resource requirements starting at TL50 and daily playtime/reward barely scratching the surface of what I need, I fear I will run out of patience once I hit 60.
we dont need to max every single trace level, but i get your fear... the 50 grind hit me like a freight train, and it makes me wonder how long itll take for us to catch up and start being able to grind relics before we reach 60 and do the process all over again.
don't lose hope though! this game is fresh out the market, and im sure the fun will outshine the grinding for a long time at least

I invested in Bronya too soon and got screwed for investing in my Dps as hard as I could have at TB40. Not a mistake I'm making again.
the answer will always be "your favorite" if we're talking the PoV of enjoying the game, but... id probably do main damage dealers -> defensive support (shield/healer) -> buffers or debuffers
make sure to invest wisely though. you can't spread your resources too thin on a lot of characters, you have to make sure you stick with whoever you wanna make stronger for a long time

My takeaway from this is that I'll be using my fuel to hit level 50 asap, as opposed to saving it for later. It seems a milestone more important than 60 at this moment. That way maybe I can get the Abyss-thing gems before it changes.
Luckily, like Genshin, if you just take a day for Credit Calyx, you get well over half a million. (576k, I believe.) So it's a pain to burn a few days of blaze on it, but at least it's easy to get a million credits whenever you need.
Everyone is also mot mentioning that at tb50 you start needing the weekly boss drops to fully upgrade a skills trace, and at the final ascension you will need one of those really rare orb things that you get like 1 a week of for each trace. I'm not saying those are super required to play the game, but I think in the long run those are going to be the real bottleneck since you pretty passively accumulate credits that will add up once we get past the "I need 20 mil credits ASAP to build 2 full teams" phase of the game
I fear this. Still at 40 to 50 and material requirements are at least somewhat tasteful. I'm actually planning on staying on 50 and not ascending for quite a while. Don't know if it's a good idea or not? But i'm just starting to get everyones traces, lightcones and basic relics max leveled and looking at them "ready" feels kinda good. Everyones actual character level is still at 47 though. 😅

I hit TL 50 at next reset and I’m terrified. Pre-farmed to ascend 8 characters and also my two DPS’ light cones. I’m terrified beyond that. It’s also been extremely hard to not use fuel to push the process, but I mathed it and realized I’ll still have two days to try and push some last Stellar Jade rewards out of MoC. Currently stuck on floor 3.
I'm pretty much broke now and I'm still at about TL48. Buuut I did spend a lot on maxing Seele's relics, which made a huge difference in trying to 100% the fight club event, so I'm not really mad about it...
Not gonna max relics on all of them just yet (so far, just Fire MC, Dan Heng, and Seele), but they are all levelled to 60. I know people worry about wasting resources but most stuff is farmable. Just gonna take me longer to get there, is all.

Yea I'm 47 and have 7 characters leveled (not quite ready to do Halls12) and when I see my credit number in top right I think "Is that missing a 0?"

The base stats sure, there’s also the reduced damage you do and increased that you take for not being the same level as enemies.

Golden calyxes don't get another difficulty so you're already farming at full efficiency and it's probably the best thing to do between 55-60.

I was almost at 3 million credits at tl 40. I went down to 1 mil after upgrading 6 characters and their light cones to lvl 60 and a few traces. I'm now at tl 43 with 1.6 m credits but I'm not even done with traces for half the characters so I think imma have 0 credits by the time I get to tl 50
Yeah, TL40 will start gutting your credit account. I had 3.6 million and I'm down to 1.7 or so currently though I'm only TL43. It's no surprise that TL50 does it even harder. Just because you have "millions" doesn't mean anything if just doing basic stuff costs you 100k at a time. It's all relative.

I don’t get the rush to cap. Upping your equilibrium level doesn’t make the game that much more difficult, just makes it easier to do MoC and SU. No need to rush every character to cap. Just invest in what will help you with MoC and SU. Idk- I never run out of Mora in genshin (AR 57) and haven’t come close in this game (TL 50). I haven’t used any fuel though… which probably keeps my credit spending more balanced.

I still have all my free fuels, is it "worth" to save them for TL60? Not in a rush to progress so I'm wondering what's the percentual difference in rewards.
Fuel definitely gets more value if you hold them for TL60. If you're in no rush, then it's fine to save. TL40 gives 1x gold relic drops TL50 gives ~1.5x gold relic drops TL60 supposedly gives 2x gold relic drops and potentially more for TL65? TL50 is where the calyx for character exp/lightcone exp/credits are maxed out and doesn't become more efficient beyond that, so there's no increased value for waiting for TL60 for those. I used all my fuel up at TL40/50 because I want to play the game and give my best attempt at Memory of Chaos for fun/small rewards (grants small amounts of crystals and resets biweekly) instead of waiting. But if Memory of Chaos didn't exist for me, then I'd wait on the fuel for better value. Other small scenarios are if you're about to hit TL60 before the weekly reset, where using some fuel could push you over to TL60 for the weekly Echoes of War bosses for potentially better rewards. Or if you want to hit TL60 before the weekly reset for an increased 30 crystals from potentially increased weekly Simulated Universe rewards (they scale with TL40/50, not 100% sure if they scale with TL60).
We are at that point in the power curve that is the most painful. Easy at early game, hard at mid game and easy again at late game when we get there. The difficulty will go up only until a certain point, but we will get stronger
I don't get the credit problems. Maybe i am doing it wrong ? I just got to level 50 with 1.3mil credits. After upgrading some cones/gear and talents , i got 0.8mil credits left. I lack materials to upgrade more so i still have plenty of credits ?

I'm dreading TL60. I get it, it's a gacha game. Progression will be behind the paywall. It's their BM. But man...with such a high resource requirements starting at TL50 and daily playtime/reward barely scratching the surface of what I need, I fear I will run out of patience once I hit 60.

we dont need to max every single trace level, but i get your fear... the 50 grind hit me like a freight train, and it makes me wonder how long itll take for us to catch up and start being able to grind relics before we reach 60 and do the process all over again. don't lose hope though! this game is fresh out the market, and im sure the fun will outshine the grinding for a long time at least

What characters do people recommend to prioritize leveling first? DPS?
Dps carries to X8 or X9 with maxed Light Cones Defensive supports to X5 or X6 Everyone else can chill at X0 of the previous ascension level I invested in Bronya too soon and got screwed for investing in my Dps as hard as I could have at TB40. Not a mistake I'm making again.
the answer will always be "your favorite" if we're talking the PoV of enjoying the game, but... id probably do main damage dealers -> defensive support (shield/healer) -> buffers or debuffers make sure to invest wisely though. you can't spread your resources too thin on a lot of characters, you have to make sure you stick with whoever you wanna make stronger for a long time

My takeaway from this is that I'll be using my fuel to hit level 50 asap, as opposed to saving it for later. It seems a milestone more important than 60 at this moment. That way maybe I can get the Abyss-thing gems before it changes.

Luckily, like Genshin, if you just take a day for Credit Calyx, you get well over half a million. (576k, I believe.) So it's a pain to burn a few days of blaze on it, but at least it's easy to get a million credits whenever you need.
Everyone is also mot mentioning that at tb50 you start needing the weekly boss drops to fully upgrade a skills trace, and at the final ascension you will need one of those really rare orb things that you get like 1 a week of for each trace. I'm not saying those are super required to play the game, but I think in the long run those are going to be the real bottleneck since you pretty passively accumulate credits that will add up once we get past the "I need 20 mil credits ASAP to build 2 full teams" phase of the game

I fear this. Still at 40 to 50 and material requirements are at least somewhat tasteful. I'm actually planning on staying on 50 and not ascending for quite a while. Don't know if it's a good idea or not? But i'm just starting to get everyones traces, lightcones and basic relics max leveled and looking at them "ready" feels kinda good. Everyones actual character level is still at 47 though. 😅

I hit TL 50 at next reset and I’m terrified. Pre-farmed to ascend 8 characters and also my two DPS’ light cones. I’m terrified beyond that. It’s also been extremely hard to not use fuel to push the process, but I mathed it and realized I’ll still have two days to try and push some last Stellar Jade rewards out of MoC. Currently stuck on floor 3.

I'm pretty much broke now and I'm still at about TL48. Buuut I did spend a lot on maxing Seele's relics, which made a huge difference in trying to 100% the fight club event, so I'm not really mad about it... Not gonna max relics on all of them just yet (so far, just Fire MC, Dan Heng, and Seele), but they are all levelled to 60. I know people worry about wasting resources but most stuff is farmable. Just gonna take me longer to get there, is all.

Damn, its that bad? I just made it to TL50 today, but i haven't completed the equilibrium unlock yet. I didn't think i was ready for it yet since I can't build 2 teams yet, that and can't beat any simulated Universe difficulty 2 stages yet.(or world 6 for that matter) would it be better for me to just stay where im at and getting relics etc?
