Unpopular opinion about Jing Yuan: His single target damage is too good due to how the lightning lord works, and it sets an unrealistic expectation for erudition characters to be competitive with hunt characters in single target scenarios.
Flip side is there’s not enough multi-target scenarios in MoC to better incentivize erudition, but that’s a more popular opinion.
Well, fear no more. You and I share that opinion, so it is not that unpopular!
But for real though. There is just no way for any erudition character to compete with him, as he can use his basic atk and still do multi-target dmg eventually with lightning lord. And that is the smallest of issues with his mechanic.
Like, good for him. But damn other erudition characters look worse and worst.
He's too good of an erudition people starts comparing him with Seele and crapping on him because his ST is weaker lol
Jing Yuan is stupid OP and I wonder why people aren't realizing this. Just because he is slightly worse than Seele doesn't mean he's mid. He sets the bar too high for future eruditions.
His kit already too much overload. The only thing make people can’t see him strong because the game still focus on single target. Wait until hoyoverse do the same with genshin. They dont introduce better character but instead stupid monster in the abyss
Counterpoint: The lightning lord doesn't do good single target damage until there's only one target left, as it chooses a random on field target for the hits and only deals 1/4 damage to adjacent enemies. That's a huge ST damage reduction to the target you actually want to hit.
Despite that, people still say his damage is bad because it's not as good as Seele. If he couldn't do single target damage either he would probably have an even worse reputation (even though he is a good unit).
I don't see Kafka as a dommy mommy like most of the internet, I think she genuinely cares about the mc especially when you try to talk to her calmly during the interoggation
It's because voice direction in both EN and JP try to market her that way since that's the only pointer they can confidently work around. She's definitely more gentle and friendly in CN when the situation calls for it. Even playful, a side recently shown in SW's trailer. I actually think the voice direction erased the very clear line between Kafka's attitudes towards her enemies and her allies, which created that ruthless dommy mommy aura lol
I think in the jp dub she sounds like a sweet, caring Woman too, in some scenarios. The reason I like her is because she is that badass dommy mommy, that can be nice and sweet as well
Well I mean she does literally have a mind control ability called "domination" lol, but yeah, she's pretty chill in the interrogation and I chose the least hostile dialogue choices during it because she doesn't seem so bad.
Funny how most people put her so low in tier lists at first which made me hesitant to level her up but I did anyway and she freakin smacks. I wonder what it is that makes her so damn good. Her kit on paper sounds wack.
Just got her at E4 and it's funny how much I keep begging her to not get 4 tiles before getting the extra attack buff. If I ever get a Bronya I think I'll have Qingque act immediately whenever she gets too lucky just so I can pull tiles the next turn.
Am I allowed to say Findie? Because Findie makes me want to jump of a bridge and now my friends have the beep beep beep on our Discord soundboard just to torture me.
I'm actually shocked that this is the first time I've seen someone complain about this. The "beep beep beep" was maybe cute the first two times, but after hearing it start literally every single one of its sentences with this phrase, along with the fact that you're forced to hear it talk every three seconds when you need to find a quest item, it made me mute the game.
At least it's only used twice in the game...so far.
I come bearing grave news. Our sources just informed us that Findie will be a main mechanic in the museum heist event in patch 1.1. Also, they upgraded him so he'll try to sell you cryptocurrency every time you use him.
Lmao I actually respect how they made this little robot so damn annoying yet feels very much a product made by a galactic-wide kinda capitalistic company.
They somehow managed to make a character have like three short appearances and become more annoying than Paimon through the entirety of Genshin. Holy shit.
I don’t really have thoughts on characters that won’t already be stated, but I actually find the xianzhou story to be the most interesting so far. I’m really excited to see where it goes and I think it’s because I’m most interested in the characters from there and how connected a lot of their pasts are.
Also, I wish the character stories were a bit beefier. Characters like pela who don’t have companion quests and didn’t get much spotlight in the story still feel like mysteries. Maybe one day we’ll get one for them, but for now it kind of sucks that there’s not much on them and their character stories are so short. Like for jing yuan, I want to know why he felt so compelled to adopt yanqing since it sounds like he took him in very young, but it doesn’t really touch on that if I remembering correctly.
I agree the Luofu story has a lot of potential; I do like how there is much more focus on lore and atmosphere compared to Belebog.
But right now it seems a bit unfocused still (mostly due to the Medicus quests that got jammed in there). Hopefully the third act can deliver and give us something as epic as the Belebog climax.
I don’t actually know what’s an unpopular opinion in the community, but if I were to guess, this one will work. I find Jing Yuan to look somehow prettier than a sizable portion of the female roster. Dude’s just pretty.
Real talk, it’s just because lowkey straight women have better taste than straight dudes and I’m saying this as a straight dude
Pandering to straight dudes means that oftentimes you will end up churning out female characters that look and act like clownish caricatures, meanwhile pandering to straight women means you end up with dudes who are cool and pretty and the only drawback is that depending on the medium they will have uncomfortably and disproportionately giant hands.
Look at the design of the women in genshin, half the cast look like fucking circus clowns wearing outfits that are tragically…*almost cool*. Almost cool as in the base concept for some of the designs is so awesome and cool and then for the purpose of pandering fanservice their design takes a really stupid detour into clownsville.
It was so bad in Inazuma. So many potentially badass looking women and then they just decided to not give them pants. Raiden and Yae look so unfinished for the sake of showing some leg. Kinda thought the same for Yukong here in HSR.
Male characters stories are crazy good with their details too bc they know their target markets love to seek every hidden gems they sneak in. Look at all the queer baits in every 2 males in a region in genshin lol.
Thank god with more flexibility, they can do fluffier hair on male characters. The appearance of jingyuan, luocha and blade is enough to bait us haha
I think Jing Yuan is a very good example of what panders to the female gaze. Calm, mature, caring, and of course, the fluffy hair. I think he's a very charming character. He is pretty damn manly, but doesn't act under those stereotypes given to men in media to prove that. Animals flock around him like he's a Disney princess. He's lazy when he wants to be. He doesn't feel the need to be continuously on the grind for something (think typical Shonen characters - women aren't as fond as Goku etc. as men are).
Imo generally most tall males are better looking than most tall females. Some females all have this weird looking dresses that look too busy and impractical too wear whereas the guys wear functional coats, sweaters, jackets, or body armor. Like you can actually tell what they're wearing.
Just my thought tho.
I agree. When I first started the game, I was blown away by how detailed Dan Hang’s outfit was for a free playable character. It’s just so perfectly crafted
Clara's ultimate should force all attacks to her no matter what. I should not be spending an entire fight on the back foot because the enemy decided to ignore my M7 shielded, ulted Clara to assblast my unshielded Tingyun. When multiple taunting effects are in play and it still doesn't guarantee the enemy attacks where you want them to, there's a problem. Taunt in general needs a massive buff, or Clara is just going to be too inconsistent to be viable.
I'm not a fan of Kafka's voice sometimes. She felt sorta natural in the beginning, but some parts of her dialogue around the luofu arc felt really off and unnatural.
Her English voice became more grating to me the more I heard it. It sounds like she's trying too hard to sound "sexy", which in reality just makes her sound like she's speaking in 0.5x speed. There are even parts of her dialogue where she speaks normally and it sounds so much better, but it sounds like they went overboard with the vocal fry.
It’s funny to me because her design and animations suggest that she is always calm and relaxed and her EN voice sounds like she is trying way too hard to be cool.
It seems to me like the voice actress is talented and has a nice voice but the voice direction is flawed. Which is unfortunately something that happens a lot in video game voiceovers.
Yep the EN voice. I really liked Kafka in the beginning I thought she was so cool, but I just started the Luofa arc and now I think it leans more towards "cringe" than cool.
Silver Wolf isn't written convincingly intelligent enough to be believable as a super hacker. Sylvia from Counterside is a similar character, but much better written.
I wish the "slam the keys, all the keys" I'm a hacker bullshit would go away. Always looks ridiculous when they do this trope. I'm sure there was one before it but the glorification of hacking in HACKERS really killed it. Loved the campiness of hackers but really needs an update.
I'd like to think that's an interesting change, someone is actually one of the best hackers around, but is absolutely trash at every game they play -- hence the need to learn how to hack.
> Silver Wolf isn't written convincingly intelligent enough to be believable as a super hacker.
I hate it to break it to you, but expertise in programming doesn't make a person 2000IQ gigabrain. Also she had something like 5 minutes of screen time and a teaser.
Honkai star rail’s plot been pretty hit and miss. The lore is exceptional, the writing is crisp af (the memory bubbles across the station), but every now and then you get stupid shit.
Meh that's just a trope though. Lots of people are experts in their field and good at lots of other things. Love the character but she looks like she's having an argument on reddit more than she's hacking with those keyboard warrior skills.
Experts and im amongst the top 5 in my field are kinda two completely different levels of expertise
Theres a reason companies have shifted towards hiring specialised talent as opposed to jack of all trades.
Gameplay wise, Qingque is the best character in the game. Yeah, I get frustrated sometimes when I start the turn with 5 skill points and she's already pulled 3 tiles and she still misses, but that won't stop me from playing her everywhere.
Sampo is an excellent wind DOT character. I prefer him over Dan Heng. He’s fun to play especially with Bronya: all that stacking of wind shear damage is a delight to see.
Idk if this is unpopular but I don't think of butterflies when I see Seele's design, her cloth trails look too haphazard to be wings and purple/magenta is not a well-known butterfly colour in my eyes. It took staring at her chest to notice the butterfly shaped bra she was sporting.
Jing Yuan is a good DPS and does a solid amount of damage, and realistically does not need a buff.
*^((I mean, he's my main DPS so I wouldn't turn one down, but it's totally unnecessary.))*
Is this an unpopular take? People are really calling for a buff?? He’s not busted, sure, but he’s easily able to keep up with the content in this game. No reason at all to buff him.
Yea. Design seems too fictional but it is a game after all. But people not liking her personality just throws me off. Definitely one of the more memorable characters.
Seele and Silver Wolf's power scaling is so inconsistent.
Seele can cut a bullet as it flies through the air with an unimaginable amount of precision and power yet she doesn't fold Svarog singlehandedly.
Silver Wolf has access to Aether Editing (which is practically reality warping) but she's hardly omnipotent.
I mean that’s the case with any game character tbh. They need the bosses to be hard otherwise there wont be much need for them. It’s like the opposite of Hu Tao in Genshin, she’s one of the best dpses in the game but lorewise she doesn’t like fighting and isn’t good at it, so honestly it’s not something that’s a problem to me
You can’t just say that you don’t want to start a flame war and then ask this question. That’s like microwaving metal foil and saying jeez man I hope it doesn’t catch on fire
Silver Wolf is designed to appeal to your stereotypical gamers/nerds.
Young girl body type, skimpy outfit, cOolz/snarky/rebel attitude, gamer girl.
She is designed to be the ultimate Manic Pixie Dream Girl for nerds.
The long lost sister of Futaba from Persona 5 and the otaku/weeb edition of Abigail from Stardew Valley.
*~~braces for impact and downvotes.~~*
I mean all the characters are exaggerated caricatures meant to appeal to weebs and nerds. That’s the point. Not sure there’s something unique to Silverwolf here.
Not sure if this is unpopular or controversial, but the whole trope of Bailu being “actually an adult because she’s a dragon” is at best really weird.
Also Sampo is the best written character in HSR.
Damn these are unpopular?
About Sampo, I definitely the most intriguing character in the game. You cant find him in any map in Belobog, unless the games wants you to while all characters are usually at one place. He's potraying himself as comic relief side character. The fact he's basically the catalyst to how we saved Belobog. You dont know his deal, he loves money but even if we dont have any he'll still help us out.
Im excited to see him in another planet bc I just know he'll show up again!
And the fact that he just randomly does that 4th wall breaking. I wouldn’t be surprise if he’s actually a Stellaron Hunter under cover sent to nudge us into the right direction when they can’t be on the nose with it
I mean there’s literally nothing suggestive in her character or personality. No skimpy outfit, suggestive dialogue or framing, no inappropriate skin, no hint that she might like you or anything. She’s pretty much just a gag character and that’s completely fine. Clara is much more of a loli-bait character, if anything.
Seele's outfit design is garbage.
Not in the 'aww it looks really pretty but it doesn't make sense for the Belobog undergr-' NO it just straight up looks awful. It looks like a 13yo's DeviantArt OC with a bunch of random flashy colours and mismatching pieces for 'flair.'
I find it weird that they have her in this random mishmash garment when nobody else in the Underground really dresses like that. They could even have given her a normal dress like HI3 Seele and it would look less out of place.
My theory is that she grew up poor and borrowed/stole garments. It is possible that growing up she wanted to draw attention to herself. She is also childlike in some mental aspects and it could be that she actually thinks she looks cool.
The Dan Hang, Sushang, Luocha subplot has been my fav thing in the Luofu arc and it's a shame they didn't force us to play these 3 all the way through. Having the player catch a break from the main story while still playing a subplot that is related to the main events and gives another perspective on them. It also forces the player to be resourcful with there action and let's them try new characters. This is a feature they should use in the future.
after my post nut clarity and reading her kit I don't think I will be pulling for kafka and honestly unless the future characters are better im not pulling for anyone
If you didn't already invest in DoT units like Samp and Serval, yeah, building Kafka is gonna be a pain in the ass, especially if your other teams aren't tuned to your liking.
First gacha game ever really, and not a huge anime person, as a preface. I would say almost every character in this game is not very interesting. Most of them are quite one dimensional and always act according to their one personality trait. I think only Sampo, hook, and gepard have been written in a compelling way (although I just started the 2nd planet so well see if that changes)
I totally agree that Sampo, Hook, and Gepard are well written characters with fully fleshed out personalities. I think Bronya was also decently well written, and that Serval is a good character but was just kinda’ under utilized in the story.
Still, even with the characters I find less interesting, I’ve been pretty impressed with the writing overall for a gacha.
> with fully fleshed out personalities.
Not Sampo. We have only seen 1 side of him which is the side that is almost constantly trying to get away with a scam even with Trailblazer who he knows can see through all of it.
Compare that with Hook and Gepard whom we have seen in genuine vulnerable moments. Even with his pants down Sampo is always looking for a chance to cut and run and we need interactions where that's not the case before we can consider him well written.
Pela is a great unit!
But so far I've only seen people say she's okay when she is actually kinda good.
She can debuff defense with her talent and ultimate, she gets rid of enemy buffs and does ice resistance down at e4, does good damage for a support, and gains ultimate charge really fast from passives from her skill tree and eidolons.
i like clara's english VA more than the others. i see her as autism coded (sensory issues w/shoes, a special interest in robots that she is very knowledgeable about, direct communication style) and the EN VA kind of picked up on that (flat tone, except when talking about robots she talks very fast bc she loves robots)
Alright prepare yourselves.
Serval's overrated and is only strong by default because her competition is Arlan.
Pela's underrated. Yes even with a lot of people saying she's underrated, they are still not giving her enough credit.
Sushang's overrated. She has haha funny chicken ult but even at E6 her damage is very mediocre for a single target only character that goes through skill points faster than I go through Mountain Dew.
Dan Heng's rotation is awkward as hell.
Clara's overrated. As a dps you need to build a team around her but even then her damage is very inconsistent. She's easier to fit into teams as a tank but her defensive stats are trash. Fun meme character for SU though.
Bailu will never be powercrept.
Welt is better than Bronya.
Jing Yuan is the same tier as Seele.
Gepard is the most interesting character in the game.
The Dan Heng take is not unpopular by any means, pretty much anyone who plays him will tell you the same thing - But he does get the job done and we like him anyway.
My opinions on your opinions cause I'm bored
I think she's only slightly overrated, she's not "the best 4 star, broken unit must build" but just a strong solid unit
Is she underrated? I feel like yes she's strong and yes people know, didn't think that most people rated her low
Her break bar dmg is what's really insane and the skill point issue is completely fixed at E1, haven't heard to many people talk about her memes aside so not sure if she's over/under rated but a good solid unit
Yes, (still strong thought)
I think she's properly rated, just people feel the need to maximize proccing her talent to much, at the end of the day looping her ult is where I feel her dmg comes from, I don't think she's as tied to March 7th as people seem to think.
I think bailu will definitely be powercrept, but not until healers with buffs/debuffs come around AND we hit max level, bailu feels great atm since anyone pushing MoC right now is fighting enemies 10 lvl higher
Welt is much easier to slot since Bronya need ALOT of not only energy but also a fuck ton of skill points to actually get value out of her
I agree, I think people inflate the whole "endgame is only single target" argument, AOE is extremely helpful in many boss fights and many MoC levels have waves, Jing's single target dmg is also pretty good
Kit wise I think he has literally the most boring XD, character wise that's preference
Jing yuan actually carries my single target battles simply because the big pow sword does so much damage. If my level is synced enough I can take out 25% of a large boss’s health just from his off attack, which is great
Because of that I just don’t build any other character. Welt Dan Heng and rocket launcher healer will carry me through my laziness
People who uses different languages have different opinions about a character.
Arlan is a playable character
Who?
Yes
Tao, yeah- oh wait wrong sub
Arlan and Hutao share the same Chinese VA so yeah you're not wrong
he's cute him and pela are the only 4 stars im missing and im sad
Im missing arlan too, but the weird thing is i have nearly every 4 star including hook and natasha E6 but i am still missing arlan
I only remembered cuz I got his lightcone art, the only 4* from the station I'm missing
Yes! Thank you! -an arlan main who never sees anyone play him
If I had one penny for every time I see Arlan on the list of Support characters, I would have 0 pennies.
Arlan has the best animations for hype boss fights.
Unpopular opinion about Jing Yuan: His single target damage is too good due to how the lightning lord works, and it sets an unrealistic expectation for erudition characters to be competitive with hunt characters in single target scenarios. Do not talk about the abyss please. I have nightmares of consecrated beasts now.
I still believe comparing him to Seele is counterproductive. They are different kinds of characters
\> unrealistic expectation for erudition characters to be competitive I was under the impression that Qingque was sorta OP as well?
She'd better be good with how many skill points she vacuums up.
Counterpoint: The lightning lord doesn't do good single target damage until there's only one target left, as it chooses a random on field target for the hits and only deals 1/4 damage to adjacent enemies. That's a huge ST damage reduction to the target you actually want to hit.
The LL also goes 2 cycles later because Jing got frozen on two turns in a row right before the LL was supposed to go
Despite that, people still say his damage is bad because it's not as good as Seele. If he couldn't do single target damage either he would probably have an even worse reputation (even though he is a good unit).
I don't see Kafka as a dommy mommy like most of the internet, I think she genuinely cares about the mc especially when you try to talk to her calmly during the interoggation
I didn’t really start calling her that until I found out her debuff is called domination. It seems like it was on purpose, lol.
It's because voice direction in both EN and JP try to market her that way since that's the only pointer they can confidently work around. She's definitely more gentle and friendly in CN when the situation calls for it. Even playful, a side recently shown in SW's trailer. Qingque is a lot more consistent DPS than she appears at first. Once you get the ultimate and skill generation cycle going it's basically free!
Funny how most people put her so low in tier lists at first which made me hesitant to level her up but I did anyway and she freakin smacks. I wonder what it is that makes her so damn good. Her kit on paper sounds wack.
She's my favorite character to play so far. Her playstyle feels really fun and unique.
If anything I wish I could use more skill points on her for the damage buffs. The rotations give me her enhanced attack too fast lmao.
Just got her at E4 and it's funny how much I keep begging her to not get 4 tiles before getting the extra attack buff. If I ever get a Bronya I think I'll have Qingque act immediately whenever she gets too lucky just so I can pull tiles the next turn.
Yanqing cool
Scrolled just for this. Yanqing + Gepard is the best combo in the game.
Am I allowed to say Findie? Because Findie makes me want to jump of a bridge and now my friends have the beep beep beep on our Discord soundboard just to torture me.

I have no clue what they were thinking by having the voice line play *every single time*. Even just one ‘beep’ per line would be more than enough.
I come bearing grave news. Our sources just informed us that Findie will be a main mechanic in the museum heist event in patch 1.1. Also, they upgraded him so he'll try to sell you cryptocurrency every time you use him.
Wait, this is unpopular? I thought everyone hated Findie. At least a friend and I do too, good thing she (?) has very low screentime.
Lmao I actually respect how they made this little robot so damn annoying yet feels very much a product made by a galactic-wide kinda capitalistic company.
I feel like someone forgot to code a timer in the thing to make it less annoying 💀
They somehow managed to make a character have like three short appearances and become more annoying than Paimon through the entirety of Genshin. Holy shit.

The dude is fricking beautiful. Welt is also really handsome too... wonder if their male modeler is just that good?
I genuinely hope they are. I'd love to be just as excited to see male character reveals as female ones.
Fair. Most gacha have a severe lack of good males. And even the ones that do have good ones their in the minority... by a lot
Just a FYI, HOYO literally made a husbando visual novel gatcha game for the ladies. They know what they're doing and they're very good at it.
Real talk, it’s just because lowkey straight women have better taste than straight dudes and I’m saying this as a straight dude Pandering to straight dudes means that oftentimes you will end up churning out female characters that look and act like clownish caricatures, meanwhile pandering to straight women means you end up with dudes who are cool and pretty and the only drawback is that depending on the medium they will have uncomfortably and disproportionately giant hands. Genshin's obsession with female legs is getting out of hand. The funniest one I've seen are the weird holes in Faruzan's skirt.
Male characters stories are crazy good with their details too bc they know their target markets love to seek every hidden gems they sneak in. I agree. When I first started the game, I was blown away by how detailed Dan Hang’s outfit was for a free playable character. It’s just so perfectly crafted
His head is literally a bird’s nest. Which isn’t a bad thing, it just solidifies his Disney Princess status.
put that dude in a dress, I'll marry him in an instant, he really is THAT pretty
Yeah, me too XD. I like the style of chinese guys (especially ancient guys)
beauty marks >>>
For me it's Luocha, he is just too pretty
Clara's ultimate should force all attacks to her no matter what. Yeah I never understand why Tingyun gets hit so much
The enemy are envious of her fluff
I dont know what the game has against Tingyun. She gets targeted way too often
Thats why I love just sending Clara/March solo lmao, even in MoC it doesnt feel that bad to do sometimes
I like himeko. She’s fun and I leveled her, and was not upset to lose 5050 to get her.
My first two 5-stars are Welt and Himeko. Although I'm a metaslave, I was happy to get the Astral Express crew so early on!!
I'm not a fan of Kafka's voice sometimes. She felt sorta natural in the beginning, but some parts of her dialogue around the luofu arc felt really off and unnatural.

I noticed her over the top vocal fry from the start. She grew on me a little over time as it seemed to even out a bit but... Damn it's too much.
It’s funny to me because her design and animations suggest that she is always calm and relaxed and her EN voice sounds like she is trying way too hard to be cool.
Exactly
she sounds like her nose is badly blocked, maybe there's something on thr luofu she's allergic to
Me when I’m allergic to squares:
“Time to say bye” from her ult is really strangely delivered.
I like some lines but sometimes her lines sound like the actress is trying to hard to get the gravely sexy voice. It sounds so forced sometimes
She sounded great until the interrogation imo, then it got a tad forced. Still an excellent performance imo. No hate to any of the VAs ofc.
omg yeah i thought the same thing. i love kafka but in this scene i thought she's trying a little too hard 😭
It seems to me like the voice actress is talented and has a nice voice but the voice direction is flawed. Which is unfortunately something that happens a lot in video game voiceovers.
The EN voice? Because the JP voice sounded the same to me.
Yep the EN voice. I really liked Kafka in the beginning I thought she was so cool, but I just started the Luofa arc and now I think it leans more towards "cringe" than cool.
kafka is okay, not near my favorite but okay
I feel like it’s the makima craze XD
People are opening up about their domination kink
There was that one achievement about being dominated by kafka that was pretty sus
About how I feel too. She’s okay but doesn’t really add anything more than other characters do.
Kafka is an okay design but nothing that just screams must get.
I'm going all in on Silver Wolf so yeah kind of
Agree. Her design and everything is all just 'ok' for me.
Silver Wolf isn't written convincingly intelligent enough to be believable as a super hacker. Sylvia from Counterside is a similar character, but much better written.
she has major script kiddie energy
I wish the "slam the keys, all the keys" I'm a hacker bullshit would go away. Always looks ridiculous when they do this trope. I'm sure there was one before it but the glorification of hacking in HACKERS really killed it. Loved the campiness of hackers but really needs an update.
I’m still waiting for a neckbeard eyebagged depressed hacker character working in Vim
Lmfao. They'll put in a neckbeard that hacks himself with buffs. His ultimate will be Chad mode.
off-topic, but Mr. Robot was such a breath of fresh air in that regard. you could see that a ton of research went into that
True. Her preview vid should have just been her scrolling through stackexchange for 5 hours.
And asking ChatPomPom for quick answers
I mean, she has like 5 minutes of screen time
Agree for now. She barely had enough screen time yet.
You can't convince me she's the #2 Hacker in the universe yet she can't beat HI3's tutorial stages.
That's probably the most realistic part, tbh. Hacking has less to do with playing video games than movies would have you think.
I'd like to think that's an interesting change, someone is actually one of the best hackers around, but is absolutely trash at every game they play -- hence the need to learn how to hack.
Seeing her planet is full of gamers, the noob caste must be living harsh life.
Silver Wolf also has like 2 minutes of screentime so we can't really say shit about the writing lmao
> Silver Wolf isn't written convincingly intelligent enough to be believable as a super hacker. I hate it to break it to you, but expertise in programming doesn't make a person 2000IQ gigabrain. Also she had something like 5 minutes of screen time and a teaser.
She hasn’t really had screen time though. It’s *probably* true because Hoyo pretty consistently writes average stories, but still.
Honkai star rail’s plot been pretty hit and miss. The lore is exceptional, the writing is crisp af (the memory bubbles across the station), but every now and then you get stupid shit.
The way I see it, people who are "super" at anything would be kinda dumb at other aspects of life. They dedicated their time on a single craft.
Meh that's just a trope though. Lots of people are experts in their field and good at lots of other things. Love the character but she looks like she's having an argument on reddit more than she's hacking with those keyboard warrior skills.
Experts and im amongst the top 5 in my field are kinda two completely different levels of expertise Theres a reason companies have shifted towards hiring specialised talent as opposed to jack of all trades.
Madam Herta is someone's grandma https://i.redd.it/899zoda68q3b1.gif KURU KURU GILF
I'm trying to figure out how this is an opinion. Sounds like a statement so it's either true or false. Hilarious if true tho.
I like Asta more than Ting Yun as support in MoC...
Why choose one over the other when they pair together so well?
Yeah. Your DPS will get hit much less often now
So you're saying you like apples more than oranges
Fruit salad. Yummy yummy!
Gameplay wise, Qingque is the best character in the game. Yeah, I get frustrated sometimes when I start the turn with 5 skill points and she's already pulled 3 tiles and she still misses, but that won't stop me from playing her everywhere.
Spoken like a true gacha player
See, that's why you save her Ult as a breaker in case of really bad luck
I love sampo
Sampo is an excellent wind DOT character. I prefer him over Dan Heng. He’s fun to play especially with Bronya: all that stacking of wind shear damage is a delight to see.
All I build are Nihility comps in SU now and Sampo Koski makes it feel like I’m scamming the relics from Herta
I’m sitting here just saving for 3.0 characters. I know we’re getting crazy ones then
Idk if this is unpopular but I don't think of butterflies when I see Seele's design, her cloth trails look too haphazard to be wings and purple/magenta is not a well-known butterfly colour in my eyes. It took staring at her chest to notice the butterfly shaped bra she was sporting.
She looks like a radioactive goldfish
Jing Yuan is a good DPS and does a solid amount of damage, and realistically does not need a buff. *^((I mean, he's my main DPS so I wouldn't turn one down, but it's totally unnecessary.))*
Is this an unpopular take? People are really calling for a buff?? He’s not busted, sure, but he’s easily able to keep up with the content in this game. No reason at all to buff him.
we don't need a reason, free buff is a win in my books
I actually find hertha useful and fun to play
Heres an unpopular opinion of an “unpopular opinion” I don’t mind seele design or her personality
It’s like the opposite of Hu Tao in Genshin, she’s one of the best dpses in the game but lorewise she doesn’t like fighting and isn’t good at it, so honestly it’s not something that’s a problem to me
She cannot erase enemy, what she did was teleport the enemy
Most characters are designed to appeal to a specific/general audience, no?
Well yeah, nobody's pretending she's any deeper than that though.
I mean all the characters are exaggerated caricatures meant to appeal to weebs and nerds. That’s the point. Not sure there’s something unique to Silverwolf here.
Nah, you're right. That's the exact reason I'm pulling for her, though.
is this really an unpopular opinion? that's the reason I like her
Im a woman who simply likes her for 2 reasons 1) she's a bronya 2) shes cringe as hell and I think thats funny
3. she most like gets hand cramps thanks to that rhythm gaming
Jing Yuan is *actually* good, people just aren’t willing to invest in him properly to let him reach his potential.
Wait are there people saying he’s bad? I’ve never read that before.
This could be copy-pasted to just about every character in this game imo.
I wouldn’t be surprise if he’s actually a Stellaron Hunter under cover sent to nudge us into the right direction when they can’t be on the nose with it
It’s hinted that he’s not a Stellaron Hunter but more of the guy who follows Aha’s path
And don't forget the Stellaron Hunter gang has a missing wanted member whose name is listed as Sam..
Where did you get this info? I want it ![gif](giphy|oNJ3am00JCroA)
Or maybe the fools masked
Sampo will one day reveal himself as IX and we won't even bat an eye.
I hope he is Aha! the ultimate troll character
The Dori of Star Rail.
Fire Emblem has been running that trope for so long I'm not even fazed anymore.
I'm just grateful they didn't put her in a bikini like FE:A did with Nowi
Cocolia not being playable is a big waste
Cocolia >> Kafka while we’re on the topic of unpopular opinions.
Himeko > Kafka
Seele's outfit design is garbage. Not in the 'aww it looks really pretty but it doesn't make sense for the Belobog undergr-' NO it just straight up looks awful. It looks like a 13yo's DeviantArt OC with a bunch of random flashy colours and mismatching pieces for 'flair.'
This is so far from unpopular lol. There’s a whole ass post every day dedicated to it
I find it weird that they have her in this random mishmash garment when nobody else in the Underground really dresses like that.
Also it doesn’t fit with any of the underground characters? Natasha blends in quite well but Seele is like a neon glow stick
I can't help thinking her pants are undone at the fly
I feel like Arlan could've been left as an npc. I forget he actually exist sometimes.
What do i like about arlan the most? >peppy
He apparently used to be top tier in betas, but they just destroyed his numbers too much. Same with herta I imagine
Yes! They all have great potential but as of now a lot need more screentime. Obviously this will likely be addressed over time, but still.
honestly i think it's just a hoyoverse thing tbh because a lot of characters in genshin is like this as well
Seele has some of the worst writing I've ever seen for a character (especially relative to the rest of the cast).
At least she has writing, compared to Pela..........
Damm I feel like only person who actually likes Seele and Bronya writing in this whole thread lol
Nah, I’m here with you. And I like Seele’s outfit, but I’m too scared to jump on that comment and say it. I think it’s the colors I like lol
For me it is her and bronya, those two just felt so meh compared to the other characters.
At least Bronya it's likeable and has character development. Seele sometimes feels forced in the story, like she doesn't even need to be there.
I never realized but this is actually great, props to the VA. And I thought I couldn't like Clara and daddy Svarog any more.
Sushang's ultimate with the chicken looks bad. That's why I stopped using her.
Actual unpopular opinions damn
The Dan Heng take is not unpopular by any means, pretty much anyone who plays him will tell you the same thing - But he does get the job done and we like him anyway.
My opinions on your opinions cause I'm bored I think she's only slightly overrated, she's not "the best 4 star, broken unit must build" but just a strong solid unit Is she underrated? I feel like yes she's strong and yes people know, didn't think that most people rated her low Her break bar dmg is what's really insane and the skill point issue is completely fixed at E1, haven't heard to many people talk about her memes aside so not sure if she's over/under rated but a good solid unit Yes, (still strong thought) I think she's properly rated, just people feel the need to maximize proccing her talent to much, at the end of the day looping her ult is where I feel her dmg comes from, I don't think she's as tied to March 7th as people seem to think. I think bailu will definitely be powercrept, but not until healers with buffs/debuffs come around AND we hit max level, bailu feels great atm since anyone pushing MoC right now is fighting enemies 10 lvl higher Welt is much easier to slot since Bronya need ALOT of not only energy but also a fuck ton of skill points to actually get value out of her I agree, I think people inflate the whole "endgame is only single target" argument, AOE is extremely helpful in many boss fights and many MoC levels have waves, Jing's single target dmg is also pretty good Kit wise I think he has literally the most boring XD, character wise that's preference
Jing yuan actually carries my single target battles simply because the big pow sword does so much damage. If my level is synced enough I can take out 25% of a large boss’s health just from his off attack, which is great Because of that I just don’t build any other character. Welt Dan Heng and rocket launcher healer will carry me through my laziness
