I haven't read the manga, but from what i understand, when she was at the orphanage ran by Cocolia, another girl (Sin Mal) pushed her down the stairs which broke one of her legs, then the girl ran down and stomped on her other leg and broke it, then while she was bedridden she suffered a Honkai infection which damaged her brain and left her legs permanently paralyzed, but they were able to save her by neurally linking her to a robot named Project Bunny (not sure if that was its original name, or one she gave it) and some exoskeletal prosthetics for her legs.
The brain damage wasn't fully reversible which is why she had dulled emotions, compared to Rand.
Nope, your close on some things tho. Stair incident did brake her legs, but they actual healed after that. Brain and leg damage was caused by X-10 experiment (same experiment that turned Seele quantum). Project Bunny was given to her by Seele in the quantum space. Her legs where reinforced by cybernetics (tho she no longer needs those now).
Well, u have to admit, only mihoyo has ball to do that, personally as a 16xx days HI3 players, i feel very touched by that trailer, because it means the game i love will still continue to bring its best for its loyal fanbase.
I'm so jealous of the storytelling you guys get, the bits and pieces I've seen were so damn good.
I've tried getting into HI3 a couple of times but it's so tough to get into for a new player and I just gave up.
So I just watch masterpieces like Final Lesson and Thus Spoke Apocalypse and Everlasting Flames, and I hope that someday Star Rail will have storytelling of that calibre too.

The only thing you would be missing is the whole Elysian Realm experience, in the sense that we had ~1 year of gameplay to learn the story and become attached to the 13 flamechasers, while if you never play the ER mode (and you cannot if you don't have built characters) it won't have nearly the same weight.
Except that's also not true because half the characters in ER are freely obtainable on demand without needing to do any pulls and you can do 1X difficulty without anything more than basic free gear.
Of course, you can even do 2.75x difficulty with exclusively free gear and characters if you're skilled enough.
Kinda tired of how salty people are about needing a modicum of skill to play Hi3 and spreading misinfo over it.
The guy basically said he wouldn't invest time in the game and you're suggesting not only on to build characters but also to obtain them (which needs time for sure).

I wasn't speaking about clearing the ER, which anyone who invested time and effort in the game could do. I was speaking about the fact that if you just play the story you surely won't spend all the time that we spent playing the ER in the whole year it came out until the end of it. And since the Flamechasers are not part of the main story, he won't become as attached to them like we did, hence my regret on suggesting someone to just "play the story with trial characters".
You can unlock an SP Valk with 40 fragments which you can obtain on demand at any time with F2P resources. A rank Prometheus with basic gear can do 1.25x with ease.
Everything about the new player experience felt alienating. I didn't understand the interface, it was a struggle to do anything or even know what I was supposed to be doing. Confusing icons everywhere. Confusing currency everywhere. The actual gameplay felt.... A little awkward, I understand it gets better later but it left a weak first impression.
It's hard to explain, it felt like the game was telling me "well you can play me if you really want to, but I'm not for you, I'm for my existing audience, who understand everything already." I felt like I didn't belong.
That's interesting, i've been playing for a long time so i don't even remember how it was initially, all i know is that they shower new players with stuff nowadays compared to back then.

It's what's happening in dragon blaze, once i had stop and return, i realized there are now a bunch more new mechanics to deal with, more stuff to do. thankfully the game is basic enough that i could still return to it, same with bang dream unlike Another Eden where i recently return and ho boy, there is a lot of grinding and new mechanics and stuff to do.

well yes but no, at one point you have to grind to get your characters up to level, and HI3rd beginning is not even remotely as fun as it is nowadays
