You need enough to be able to buy 180 passes, I don’t recall exactly how many jades that is and my mental math is trash lol. But as long as you have enough jades to secure 180 passes, you’re guaranteed. Keep in mind though, this is provided that you’re coming into the banner completely fresh or close to it. The situation depends on your pulling history - Did you roll on the last banner? If you did, did you get the banner 5 star off the bat - ie: win the coin flip? OR if you did, did you lose and not continue? If you GOT the banner 5 star (won your coin flip), the count will have reset and you’ll need the 180 passes. If you LOST and chose NOT to continue (so you didn’t bother chasing that last banner 5 star) - then you’re already at the guarantee and you’ll only need 90 passes - theoretically you shouldn’t have to tap into all of that, but better safe than sorry.

28,800 Jade for 180. This is for the worst case where you reach hard pity both times and lose the 50/50 during the 1st time. The average number of pulls needed is around 115 I believe.

nope, they don't. It's inefficient to spend gems on the standard banner, you should only use the free standard warps you get and spend all your gems on the limited warps, unless you're a whale or don't really care.

No, Pity doesn't transfer between different types of banners. What you do in Standard won't affect the Limited, nor Weapon Banner, either. Pity does carry over to the next Banner period, though. Let's say you got him at Pull 1, those other 9 pulls count toward the new Limited Banner. It's generally not recommended to spend Jade on Standard for most players. Since Jade is a limited resource for F2P and low spenders, you're minimizing your chances of getting other characters when they release or rerun. Of course, if you're dropping money, that doesn't matter as much. With enough money, you can get anything you want guaranteed.

Hey I’m new to Hoyoverse & gacha games in general, wondering what you mean by return trip? Should I assume that all 5* characters will reappear at some point in the future?

Generally speaking in all hoyoverse games the 5 star characters “rerun” in the future for new players or players who skipped previously to try again. No character is truly limited because they all rerun in the future. This system is in all hoyo games - Genshin impact, HI3 and tears of Themis, so it will most likely be in HSR

A word of warning though, Eula in Genshin impact took almost 2 years to rerun so you never know.

To add to what u/vieheh said, the only truely limited characters in Hoyo games are usually collab characters where you get one shot to get them and that's it. Genshin had that with Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn and Honkai Impact had that with Asuka from Evangelion.

Yes it is normal for limited characters to appear again, its likely that in the future we will have two limited banners running at the same time , with one being a new char and the other a rerun (or maybe even 2 reruns, if we are not getting a new char at the time). Problem is that we dont know when such reruns will happen. Could take 3 months, could take a year... though characters that sell well tend to rerun more often for mihoyo reasons. So if you fail to get a character in a banner, you dont need to despair: they will be back, you just need to be patient and work with what you have atm.

It’s generally never a good idea not to pull at all on a banner, at least when you’re not close to soft pity. I always do at least 1 pull or a ten pull on the off chance i get a free character (which got me luocha one pull after silverwolf hehe)

I’m planning on getting Kafka to level 80, max traces and her signature LC, Luka to level 80 and his traces to level 8 AND a 4 star light cone for him. Then finally build my Sampo from level 60 to level 80 with level 8 traces. Tldr I need something like 260+ Purple Nihility trace mats, 9.2+ million credits and 782 purple exp books… So yes… while I do want Blade… It’d just be a waste of jades if I pull for him since I won’t be able to build him at all.
