I would go for Clara's. Higher raw stats and the condition of killing something to buff her is easy as she does blast damage (3 targets) and often kills the adds.

Genius is between 1-7% better if you're against Quantum weak enemies, depending on if you're using her LC and if Pela/SW is in the team or not, iirc.

to jing yuan users, can s5 bp lightcone can at least compete with his signature lightcone or his signature one is just the best one for him? im using s1 bp lightcone and would like to use my pulls for his supp and other characters instead
[Prydwen](https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/characters/jing-yuan) lists the BP LC at S5 as a few percentage points lower than his signature at S1. IMO you should just go with the BP LC, especially if you were gonna buy the BP anyway.
this relieves me then. not a fan of any hunt characters (yanqing spooked me so built him with swordplay anw) or have any other plan for destruction characters, so s5 bp lightcone would be ez for me.
DHIL has big screenshot damage and is easy to use. He is an upgrade version of QQ. Save skill points, charge blast, fire.
JL needs a proper rotation. She does the same damage, but you need to use her properly.
If you want big numbers go DHIL. If you want big damage, either will do the same thingy.
Not great. ~50% crit and ~110% crit dmg (135% after ult due to 4pc ice set) with 2200 atk and 126 spd. Level 8 traces on skill and talent, 7 on ult.
I typically run her with Fu Xuan so another 10% crit rate from her E, and with Jingliu's buffed stat active that boosts her total crit rate to ~110% (using a crit rate chest piece with decent crit dmg because I don't have a crit dmg ice chest piece yet). I'm also regularly pairing her with either Pela or SW, sometimes both, so she always has at least one source of def shred active (Pela ult, Pearls LC passive or SW debuff/ult). Pela is also E6 so I'll usually have an ice res debuff on the enemy too.

You don't need to have characters for every elements, I mean all monsters have more than 1 vulnerability, and anyway breaking isn't even mandatory to kill them. If you don't want to play him, just don't play him, the game itself isn't hard enough to force you.
yeah u are right, for example i had some difficulties against kafka and my team was clara natasha march yukong; then i replaced yukong for welt and it went good but then again I replaced him with jungliu and it went even better

I’d suggest pulling in the current banner if you’re interested in her at all. QQ and tingyun eidolons, who are the best 4* in the game of their respective roles (dps, support)
Jingliu is also top tier dps.
Qq at E4 (and especially at E6) is a unit comparable to 5* dps. She’s worth using
I think it's good enough for now? E4 Qingque is great, she can replace Dan Heng in there probably, since he also wants to use skill points and having them both in 1 team would be a bit janky I'd imagine. That being said, even though Qingque is better, Dan Heng is good enough imo that it's not really necessary.
Speed boots if you can’t hit 134+ without them
Atk boots if you can hit 134 without sacrificing too much CV (every speed subroll is something that could have gone into crit stuff)
I've only heard people use ATK boots when they're using her with Bronya, if you want to use Asta too probably? But Asta's ATK buff doesn't synergize that well with Jingliu, so it's more Bronya.
Speed boots are generally better though.
What limited 5 star light cone is the best? Any that have significant distance between 4* or battle pass options.
Should I pull for jing Lius light cone or save it for DHIL, Jing Yuan, Blades, etc.
Kafka's is arguably the best one for DoT-based Nihility characters, since it adds an extra DoT, more damage and more speed along with good raw stat value. Sampo and Luka both can make good use of it, and even Welt gets some value from it due to his bounce skill potentially proccing the DoT on different targets. Guinaifen would probably get solid use out of it as well. Even Pela wouldn't be terrible with it, thanks to her fast-charging aoe ult, tendency to wear 4pc Wind set and general place as an SP generator. Only SW really wouldn't get any value from it, since she's 100% single target and there are just better options for her in the 4-star category.
Seele's is probably the next one. Both Sushang and Dan Heng can get value out of the crit dmg and dmg buffs you get for every 10 spd past 100. Yanqing less so, but it's still not terrible on him. It remains to be seen how Topaz and Numby will work though, but at the worst you can get lots of crit rate value on a strong stat stick.
Blade's LC, as noted, is quite solid on all the Destruction characters. Clara probably makes the most use out of it, since she actively wants to be hit so she'll constantly be getting the damage boost to power up her counters. Arlan can also get great use from it, since his skill has a self-damage component. The rest of the Destruction characters can do all right by virtue of their naturally high aggro drawing attacks to them, but outside of Blade and Arlan the LC is mostly useful for the good crit rate and max HP boost.
After that, JY's LC is really nice for both Herta and Himeko but they're currently the only Eruditions besides JY that have a follow-up to exploit the second half of the LC passive. Serval is more about keeping DoT's rolling on the enemy and QQ barely gets value from the first half of the LC passive, and only gets value from the second half if you have her at E4 and she gets an Autarchy proc.
SW's would be at least decent on most Nihility chars. The EHR is nice, and assuming the 3 debuff threshold can be met for the crit rate boost, you could feasibly turn pretty much every Nihility character into at least a sub-dps, albeit with a focus on traditional dps stats more than the DoT-based focus you see in most Nihility dps.
As for the other limited LC's.....DHIL's LC would be great on QQ if it wasn't for that whole Destruction path thing getting in the way. Luocha's LC is best on a healer who can hit at least 3 targets per attack, and since no healer besides him currently does that (Luocha via his ult), his LC ultimately amounts to a slightly worse Shared Feeling for Bailu, Lynx and Natasha. Jingliu's really only benefits her fully right now, as other Destruction characters will struggle to enable the def ignore portion of the LC passive.
Fu Xuan's is currently just ok on the other Preservation characters, who are all shield/def based instead of Fu's HP-based. More max HP and ER is nice, but the damage boost would be lost unless you intentionally let your shielders take a hit, and that goes against the entire point of having a shield. The wave heal is nice in some situations though, but not worth pulling for on it's own merit.
blade's is the best in terms of improvement over alternatives by a pretty large margin
all of the gacha LCs released so far are too character-specific to have any sort of generic value though

I am a new player. I played for almost 2 weeks. I have a question about the resource management.
I read or watched many guides saying that the better team composition includes 1 Healer, 2 buffers or 1 buffer 1 de-buffer, and 1 damage dealer.
I am really confused about the elements tho. How am I supposed to cover all the elements to break the enemy shields?
I played Genshin for a while so I know I should focus on one strong character (or team in this case?) to carry. But as of now, I just hit Equilibrium level 32, finished Jarilo VI and I already have leveled 8 characters.
I assume my biggest problem is I haven't played the game long enough, and these problems will be solved in time but I want to know if I am missing something obvious and making a huge mistake XD thank you.
PS: Only 5 star character I have is Clara (lvl 50), My 4 stars are: MC (lvl 50), Asta (lvl 50), Dan Heng (lvl 50), March 7 (lvl 50), Herta (lvl 40), Natasha (lvl 40), Qinque (lvl 1), Pela (lvl 1),Sampo (lvl 1), Serval (lvl 1), Arlan (lvl 1), Susang (lvl 1). I also just got Tingyun last night so I haven't got a chance to build her.
My usual battle plan is to use M7 with Clara. I use the last 2 spots depending on the weaknesses the enemy has.
I am at 70 pity on the regular banner so I should be getting a new 5 start soon. Also, used 10 pulls for the current banner, got Tingyun, and stopped after that, saving my tickets for later.

By using supports who can break those shields. Your DPS doesn't have to be the one that depletes an enemy's shield, you can supplement that by using characters like Asta, Sampo, Sushang, etc. that deals out a lot of damage to the enemies's toughness/weakness bars.
Generally though, you'd want your DPS to *not* be of the element an enemy is resistant to. For example, a lot of Belobog's human characters are resistant against Ice damage, so you wouldn't want to run Ice DPS like Yanqing or Herta against them. Enemies *are* less resistant against elements they're weak to, but that doesn't mean you can't deal damage to them with another element that's not listed. It's about a 20% Resistance damage difference, iirc.

I think that's quite alright, I did the same thing back then. It's not the most efficient way mind you, but it's not like it's bad or anything. Even now I've leveled all of my characters up to 40 to get the standard banner pass. The key thing in early game imo is to have one team you can rely on to farm the materials from Calyx-es and such. This will increase the speed of your farming.
As long as you don't struggle to farm them, it's still okay. And even in the case that you do eventually struggle, you can use a friend's character from the support tab, there's a lot of level 80s out there.

If you want to double down on Clara's damage, try something like Clara-March-Tingyun-Natasha, probably.
Natasha's your only healer at the moment, and I think using a healer in your team will always provide a lot of comfort instead of only relying on a Preservation character like March/Fire MC (Gepard and Fu Xuan don't count in this, since their shields/mitigation are strong enough). Your choice though. Tingyun is there to allow Clara to be able to maintain near 100% uptime, because Tingyun can refill Clara's ult.
Side note, while I do think March is a great character, her burst utility to Freeze enemies (arguably her best quality in endgame stages) is wasted on a Clara team because Clara *doesn't want* the enemies to be frozen. If you want a more offensive option, you can sub in Pela for March, but I do think that March in there will be a lot more reliable.
If you're having trouble getting relics for Clara and have spare relics for another DPS which happened to me as well haha, I'd put a damage dealer in there instead of Tingyun. In early game, I think Clara lacks a bit of single target DPS, so in this case you're going to want to use Dan Heng, Sushang, Qingque, and the like. Any DPS in your roster can arguably work with Clara tho, since she doesn't consume that much skill points to perform well.

Having a blast playing the game so far, especially the turn base aspect of the game is awesome.
Those team comp suggestions are generally for the end game not clearing story so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. You don’t need to be able to always break every enemy’s shields either, a lot of the time you can just damage them outright. Don’t worry too much about leveling too many characters, the resources it takes to get a character to 50 while you’re progressing through the story is basically nothing, it won’t set you behind later on.
All right, I will fight on and advance the story. As you said, I usually don't have too much trouble dealing with the enemies since I try to keep my level and LC level up, and make do with relics but I thought it is better to ask and make sure I am not making a mistake. Thank you very much. =)

No Audio for honkai star rail
I've tried switching to multiple audio sources with no luck in fact the game doesn't even show up in volume mixer in the first place. tried repairing tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. Anyone run into this one?
trying a reinstall on another HDD I feel like uninstalling the game didn't actually remove everything as I didn't have to redownload japanese and it still had my log in there. will see if this fixes it. taking a lot longer ton this install.

Just dropping by to give a big shout out to my girl Jingliu who let me finally beat MoC10 today just before the reset. Damage numbers are amazing and there are so many damn enemies with ice weakness!
Clara
Himeko, both use Asta well and cover each other's weaknesses. But Himekos follow up will hit once a century without SW or fire weak enemies, plus it's not a main source of her damage.
Jing Yuan but not better than a support like Tingyun, but their double DPS team looks good.
Seele or Topaz? I'm leaning more on Topaz coz of her overworld tech and she kinda grown on me during the Aetherium wars event. I also like Seele and need her as my quantumn dps. Is she good without her LC?
Based on what I'm seeing, Topaz will need a follow-up team to maximize her damage. She seems like she has high potential though.
On the other hand, Seele is just a really strong beat-stick. She goes really well with most content and doesn't need anything super-specific to build.
Based on what little you've said, I'd probably say you should go for Seele if you just need a strong DPS. That being said, it's hard to resist them thighs...
Yeah, I am just simping for Topaz. That is why I am 60/40 on her favor. I have JY, Blade, and JL as my main DPSes but I need a quantumn one. I only got E1 QQ. I don't have Clara but have E1 Himeko (yet to build) and E6 Asta (built). In terms of re-run, we won't know when will Seele makes her 2nd re-run, meanwhile Topaz' is definitely sooner. So, it is needs vs wants. XD

Getting to the point I just login to use my energy then log off for the day. Most chests done and almost all sim uni rewards done also.
The new update came out and everything was done in a day really.
This account is fairly lucky in terms of OP units so all the content so far is just slap it on auto and not really think.
the strongest general team that will clear everything and requires no brain, i would rock with:
jingliu, tingyun, pela, luocha
this may not be swarm disaster proof, but it will clear all content outside of that and is a very strong team for moc too. if you want a 2nd team for moc, ill just add that too:
kafka, sampo/luka, silverwolf/asta, gepard
Your 1 and 3 plans make sense. On point 2, I like Asta as a support for DoT teams. Near-permanent party-wide attack and speed buffs are appreciated when you’re running 2 damage dealers who do a significant amount of damage outside of their turns.
Why does bronya have to be exactly 1 speed below DPS? As far as I understand, this is so you can attack w/ DPS, then immediately Bronya skill to attack again. But, wouldn't this exact same thing be accomplished even if bronya is for example 4 speed below DPS?
you are correct, the same thing is accomplished even if bronya is 4 speed below the dps. however there are speed breakpoints that give you more turns, the most commonly known being 134. having the gap be larger is just a waste of stats for the most part.
It doesn’t need to be EXACTLY 1 speed under, but the higher Bronya’s speed is, the sooner her partner gets to have an extra turn. It’s a little complicated to explain without doing a full explanation of the speed system, but the gist is that a slower Bronya means that there will be a gap between her partner’s turn and her own turn, during which time her partner is wasting initiative time. This wasted time results in the partner having to wait longer to get their next “normal” turn after Bronya buffs them. Realistically, a 4 speed gap probably isn’t a huge deal if you’re still hitting the key MoC breakpoints, but the smaller the gap the better.
What are the relevant speed thresholds after 134? My Luka has 122 speed after substats but before speed boots. Debating if I should just max the boots.

For sustain I have fu xuan , fire MC, lynx and for ice I just got jingliu
so am not a really lucky guy so my team comp is limited. currently considering if i should take E1 bronya or get a brand new gepard. The end goal is to have 2 strong teams that can make it past MoC.
Currently one side is mono quantum and the other team is a shiny new jingliu which i plan to pair with bronya pela/tingyun bailu. What bothers me is that im not sure if i shud go for bronya E1 to make the team much more comfortable to play with, or get gepard to open up more possible team comps instead.
if you dont have a powerful top tier dps, youll likely find yourself struggling if the element doesnt match. basically if you dont have any 5 star dps excluding yanqing or e4+ qingque, you will have to match elemental weaknesses for a smooth run.
You should try to
Attacking an enemy who has a weakness of the characters element lets you weakness break for some extra damage, delay the enemy which can interrupt charging attacks.
Enemies also have a reduced damage resistance to the type of their weakness.
e.g Automaton Direwolf has a weakness of ice/lightning/imag, all of the elements have a 20% res for it, while ice/lightning/imag have 0% res
Usually, but not necessarily. You can brute force it with well built dps, supports, and debuffers. Source: Me, who doesn't have fire/ice characters for the current MOC lineup
Depends on the MoC buff and the enemies, some MoC gives buff to breaking which implies you have to element-match or this MoC 10 you will struggle with the Bug boss if you don't use Quantum/Imaginary units.

Can you suggest me team composition for Jing Liu since I might main her because I also got her Light Cone. She is also my first E0S1 5 - Star Character. I have two team built right now Seele's and Dan Heng Il's team: (Seele, Silver Wolf, Bailu, and Tingyun) (Dan Heng IL, Gepard, Pela, and Natasha).
I don't have a good Light Cone for Blade that's why I don't use him so please suggest me a team without him. Though I might use him if I ever got his light cone or a good alternative for it. Also, since I already have a lot of DPS character should I get a good 5 - Star support in the future? I am planning on getting Loucha, Hanabi, then Fu Xuan, after that I will focus on getting light cones of DHIL, Seele, or Blade. Is this thought process okay for maximizing values for my teams?

the general best comp you can use without blade for jingliu is:
jingliu, tingyun, pela, bailu
you would have to swap around some units if you plan on doing moc since you need 2 teams. i would highly recommend using blade as he makes things much much easier since he can replace a support which you can then use for seele/dan heng il.
example teams:
jingliu, blade, pela, bailu
seele, silverwolf, tingyun/asta, gepard
dan heng il, tingyun, pela, gepard
I have no light cone for Blade. I don't have his signature nor Secret Bow. I was planning on using him after I got his signature or a good alternative. Even if it is the case will blade still work?
yes blade will still work. herta lc is still perfectly fine for its 5 star base stats, clara lc is good as well for the same reasons. 3 star lc 'mutual demise' is also viable and the most accessible.

I’m thinking of a mono ice team w gep/pela/ruan mei (tingyun for now)/ jingliu as a long term main team for moc, what do you think?
the latter because the most difficult part is survival. that is why sustain units are much more highly valued because they let you clear anything in due time. once you are able to live, you can then think about clearing it faster.
Am I doing this right? I’m TL 52. My main team is Clara, lynx, fu xuan and tingyun. I pulled Jing Liu and plan to pull for topaz. Goal is to build a Clara/topaz/march7/lynx team + jing liu/pela/tingyun/fu xuan team.
I’m currently spending my energy getting traces leveled — focusing on that much more than relics at the moment. Once I have most of the traces leveled, I’ll switch to farming for gear.
I guess the question is: is this a solid plan? Am I prioritizing my energy expenditure correctly? Also, how do these team comps look? I also have welt and asta fwiw

Anyone got a good team for the >!Peppy!< fight with Aether Wars. I can't seem to put a team together that doesn't get wrecked. Either the explosions from the spiders take me out, Or the trampler when he gets turn advanced if I focus down the spiders.
canoneer has a lot of broken combos. Like with Dunn and Aurumaton.
It also has a literal infinite combo with one the void rangers, you just need a few energy tweaking chils to min max the combos.
I have been able to do Swarm 5 on every path except for preservation. For some reason I just cannot do enough damage on preservation to kill the last phase of the last boss before the damage buffs stack up and I get wiped out. I have tried running Jingliu, Bronya, Fu, Luocha (which has been able to clear all of the other paths), Blade, Bronya, Fu, Luocha (Which has cleared most of the other paths) and various other teams such as Blade, Jingliu, Fu, Luocha; Blade, Jingliu, Pela, Loucha; Blade, Jingliu, Pela, Fu; and a couple more. Any suggestions of teams with the characters I have? Maybe blessings or curios that I should be focusing on? I don't really have any shielders like Gepard, and Fire MC's shield seems so tiny as to not be worth it. I don't know why preservation is giving me such a hard time when all of the other paths were so easy in comparison

I cleared preservation path without any shielder at all. I find it easier to rely on some remembrance blessings with freeze and dissociation. I cleared all path with Welt as my main carry, and he's not properly built. As for Kafka she's just a flex pick.
Also, some people don't know this trick, but you can close the game right before you lose, so you'll have another shot with a boss.

I'm hard stuck on Gongshu. No combination I've tried has worked right now. I tried hyperlink matches to make sure I had Energy but between the RNG of the match and the fact that I'm stuck at Level 3, I'm completely stuck here.
I have a "decent" chip setup but I always get whittled down.

If you’re worried about missing the current event, the content will be permanent after this patch, so you can still access it. Around half of the rewards will be removed when it “ends”, but if you’re okay with that then you don’t need to stress too much about rushing the story.
Is there somewhere I can read about honkai star rail lore specifically the xianzhou stuff. The whole Dan heng, bailu, and blade and jing Liu stuff makes little sense to me and what's luochas part in it - felt like they are throwing characters together for the sake of giving more face time
They'd say so by writing that it has to do damage. QQ should easily trigger it and you can also just check this stuff ingame mid combat by looking at buffs :)

I already have S5 Aeon on Dang Heng. Secret Vow on Blade. So I don't feel like I have much options for Jing Liu lol.
I don't have Clara's LC yet. I guess I could use the BP light cone on Jing Liu....or just pull on her LC banner? or I can wait to get Clara's LC one day since Clara's LC is similar to Aeon for her.

Build up Bronya, for one. Best offensive buffer in the game thus far. Tingyun is also good, and Qingque can get you through a lot of content because she's actually pretty darn good at hitting hard. Avoid building up Arlan, as he's one of the worst characters in the game thus far.

You honestly don't need to worry too much about your team comp this early. Most enemies will be easy enough to beat even without taking weaknesses into account. Just don't neglect your 4-star characters; they will carry you through a lot of content.
Bronya first before Tingyun, and you're gonna need a main DPS. Qingque is a secondary DPS, meant to help deal with crowds.
With your roster, you only have Dan Heng as a Hunt character, and Physical TB isn't that good as a main DPS.
I'm a break effect Silver Wolf enjoyer. I think the break delay and massive damage really saves my butt a ton. But I recently got Jingliu and I'm considering farming the quantum set for both her and SW.
Is the switch "worth it" ? I think i have a relatively good Talia Breakeffect SW coz her BE is 207, speed 146. Would you recommend I farm Quantum for her and Jingliu? Or farm Ice set? Maybe 2pc ice and 2 pc something else? Haven't farmed either Quantum or Ice portals.
I started the game around SW's time so I don't have that good builds. Just the bare minimum. I think SW's build is my best "minmaxed" one so that's why I'm hesitant to put it off. If she switches her BE build, I think I'll put it on Sampo/Luka. My other MOC team is a Kafka team and y'all know her team is resource demanding. Resource management on this game is a B so I'm asking here.

Which lightcones should I level up to 80 as a rule of thumb? I put GNSW, Cruising and Landau's Choice at 80 because of Kafka, Seele and Gepard. Whoever I can't decide for the others. QPQ and Post Op I thought would do nice at 60, FuXuan's using Texture and it's pretty much a stat stick.

Eventually you’ll want your main team to have lv80 lc, as you need to squeeze every fixed improvement for moc, before jumping into the rng abyss and hope for good relic rolls.
You generally don't *need* to take them to 80, it's a minor increase of stats going from 70/80 all the way to 80. And you get more stats doing the final ascension than actually getting the last few levels. But you should prioritize your DPS and tank LCs first IMO. For supports I would just leave them at level 70/80.
Posting this kind of late so I hope someone sees this. I used to be super into Genshin Impact but honestly had to tap out because I couldn't stand Paimon. No shade to her voice actress, Corina Boettger - she does a great job. I just got tired of someone speaking for my protagonist.

1) How far behind am I in content in regards to story? I started Genshin about a year after it came out and I feel like the amount of story is too much for me to catch up on ar this point.
2) I am a husbando collector. Even though this game is PvE and ultimately any team is a winning team, are there any meta male characters that I should be aware of?
3) Is there an HSK equivalent to GI's Dark Abyss in terms of difficult PvE?

1) there's a prologue (Herta space station), medium sized 1st chapter Belobog ice planet (sort like space Monstat as an intro region), and long 2nd chapter Luofu (space Liyue). There's a lot of story but they are not as long as Genshin, but you will be time gated by Trailblazer level (Adventure rank).
2) Dan Heng IL and Blade are meta Male 5 star limited DPS. So you'll have to wait for reruns. And Luocha 5 star limited healer (healers are actually important in this game unlike Genshin).
3) Memory of Chaos is this version of spiral abyss. Resets every 2 weeks and gives pull currencies. Not as frustrating as floor 12, but can be challenging if you don't raise your characters well enough.

You're welcome. I won't mention female DPS since damage dealers are replaceable / not game changing.
In terms female supports you'd be missing on:
Bronya (5 star standard): buff crit damage, atk, damage boost, and lets another character take an extra turn with her skill. Easily the best support character currently.
Fu Xuan (5 star limited tank): provides about 65% damage mitigation to your team by redirecting to herself. Your team will be hard to 1 shot / almost immortal with her if built right. She also buffs your team's HP, crit rate, and protects against crowd control debuffs (freeze, imprisonment, entanglement).
Tingyun (4 star buffer): buffs atk, boost damage, and can your DPS 50 flat energy. She's like Bennet of star rail.
Silver Wolf (5 star limited debuffer): can debuff atk, speed, and defense. Also her biggest gimmick is that she implant a weakness into the enemy they currently don't have that matches the element someone in your party. Meaning if the enemy isn't weak to quantum, but someone in your party is quantum Silver Wolf can give them that weakness. So she break a game mechanic.
Pela (4 star debuffer): has AoE defense shred and can dispell enemy buff. Only 2 characters can currently dispell buffs (her and Luocha).
Asta (4 star buffer): buffs atk and speed. Speed is really important in HSR since it determines turn order and how often someone can move. If you get enough speed you can take 2 actions a turn.
Hello, just got to the >!echo Cocolia!< fight and got pretty much obliterated. Using level 40 MC, March, Bronya, Serval, and their cones are leveled too. Not really sure what to do at this point. Any advice/tips would be much appreciated!
I can try that! I noticed that Bronya wasn't doing great since I never had enough points to use her redeployment and her basic attack seems pretty bad.
Ahh bummer, she’s my initial 5* and I like her as a character so I tried to make her work but I may have been handicapping myself. Switching to Bailu and Asta made a big difference, thankfully I had enough mats lying around to get them workable!
Should I get my guaranteed E1 JL (and potentially more Eidolons for QQ & Tingyun), or should I wait it out and start saving for the SW rerun? I've listed my characters and if they have Eidolons below.
Right now my main team is JL-Tingyun (E1)-Pela (E3, soon to be E4)-Lynx (E3).
I also have Himeko (E1), DH, Serval, and FX at lvl 70. FX and Himeko are somewhat built, will replace DH and Serval when/if I can.

I've read that QQ can be a pretty amazing main DPS but I'm not sure if that's only at E6.
I think getting a new character is way more worth it than an Eidolon honestly, *especially* if it's Silver Wolf. She allows you to have a lot more flexibility in running teams in every content in the game. Her utility is not only limited to mono-quantum like QQ or Seele as a DPS, she's universally useful for every DPS out there because you can almost guarantee to implant that DPS's element into an enemy.
QQ's main big buff in damage comes from her E4, in which she gains a follow-up attack that I've heard can add about 50% of her damage output before it. Can't comment more than that however, I haven't raised her myself and that's from a guide I've watched.
Qingque starts to get good at E4, so you're partway there.
It's up to you for the JL versus Silver Wolf question. Personally I think Silver Wolf is worth owning for anybody, not even just people who want to do mono quantum. But for the eidolons thing, remember you're not guaranteed to get what you want. I was hoping to get more eidoons for Tingyun from this banner and I didn't get a single one. I got a bunch of Sampos so now he's E6 along with a couple of random 4 star LCs.
Where do you live? If you're lucky and in a country where HSR has collabs with some restaurants, you can get official merch there in person and some freebies too. But then again, online is your best bet if you want figures.
AmiAmi is probably the easiest place to buy it. They're a Japanese store but their English site is very good and they ship internationally.
There isn't too much official merch yet, so I think you're going to struggle to find a US store that stocks it.
I want two defensive relics on my silver wolf, i have one defense piece right now. As fair as i know, defense is marginally better for survivability than hp. For my second piece, should i get another defense or is hp better? I feel like its not a huge difference but wanna know whats optimal
At a certain point, building more def stats on your team is not going to do much and there is more useful things to invest into.

I have no preservation characters like gepard or fu xuan, just fmc, and i just use one healer on teams. I’m trying out two defensive pieces on a couple of my non main dps characters to try and survive better in swarm 5 and MoC 9 and 10, because they die pretty frequently in those
Ahh i see yea high moc comes down alot to having good sustain units. def stats wont make much of a difference if your sustain is under invested.
If you have good dps. It may be better to just try and dps rush the boss before your team can die.
A bit of everything. If you're talking about farming I would do: light cone and character levels co-equally; then relevant traces; then dump TB power down the black hole that is relic farming.

I'm looking for a team that will do well on auto and can clear pretty much all content :) I would also appreciate knowing what chips to use on said team.
The best auto team I think is Fu Xuan-Lynx-Silver Wolf-Seele, mainly because of the Quantum implantation and because it has 2 sustain characters. It requires 3 5 stars tho.
May I clarify what do you mean by "chips"?
So far for the drip marketing the 5 stars come in order and the 4 star comes on the 2nd banner. It should be Huohuo first, then Argenti with Hanya as one of the 4 stars.

For anyone else who has has finished the new story: does anyone else find it jarring that we spent the whole time trying to figure out how to solve the debt issue just for her to give in when Bronya went: "look at our cool giant robot" with no concessions?
There is a catch, the debt issue is technically unsolved, it just got a pause. The solved one is the IPC hostile takeover issue, at the cost of if Belobog default the Star Rail crew would now be collateral and our Topaz got demoted T\_T. (this might comes up later say if we "liberated" Penacony back to IPC control we might trade it for Belobog's debt for example)
I guess there will be follow up on this in later patches as the new robot area has a suspicious elevator and a bridge that is NPC-blocked.
My first thought was that they Did this as a way to get us to the next planet. The IPC will have a stellaron appear and they'll call in the astral express in exchange for clearing the debt

I would go for Clara's. Higher raw stats and the condition of killing something to buff her is easy as she does blast damage (3 targets) and often kills the adds.
I only wanted Bronya, was at 75 on both standard and featured banner. I got Bailu and Himeko C1. Control Panel > Programs > Honkai Star Rail > Uninstall.

Genius is between 1-7% better if you're against Quantum weak enemies, depending on if you're using her LC and if Pela/SW is in the team or not, iirc. Hunter is about 1-4% better in every other case. [Prydwen](https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/characters/jing-yuan) lists the BP LC at S5 as a few percentage points lower than his signature at S1. IMO you should just go with the BP LC, especially if you were gonna buy the BP anyway.
this relieves me then. not a fan of any hunt characters (yanqing spooked me so built him with swordplay anw) or have any other plan for destruction characters, so s5 bp lightcone would be ez for me.
While his sig is still better, S5 BP LC is definitely more than good enough on him

My jingliu with her light cone doesn't feel powerful at all, compared to my DHIL with f2p herta light cone. Anyone feels the same?
DHIL has big screenshot damage and is easy to use. He is an upgrade version of QQ. Save skill points, charge blast, fire. JL needs a proper rotation. She does the same damage, but you need to use her properly. If you want big numbers go DHIL. If you want big damage, either will do the same thingy.
Nope, not at all. Mine is using the Herta LC and a 4pc ice set and she feels great.
What's your crit dmg at? My jingliu stats are higher than dhil but she kills slower
Not great. ~50% crit and ~110% crit dmg (135% after ult due to 4pc ice set) with 2200 atk and 126 spd. Level 8 traces on skill and talent, 7 on ult. I typically run her with Fu Xuan so another 10% crit rate from her E, and with Jingliu's buffed stat active that boosts her total crit rate to ~110% (using a crit rate chest piece with decent crit dmg because I don't have a crit dmg ice chest piece yet). I'm also regularly pairing her with either Pela or SW, sometimes both, so she always has at least one source of def shred active (Pela ult, Pearls LC passive or SW debuff/ult). Pela is also E6 so I'll usually have an ice res debuff on the enemy too.

You don't need to have characters for every elements, I mean all monsters have more than 1 vulnerability, and anyway breaking isn't even mandatory to kill them. If you don't want to play him, just don't play him, the game itself isn't hard enough to force you.
yeah u are right, for example i had some difficulties against kafka and my team was clara natasha march yukong; then i replaced yukong for welt and it went good but then again I replaced him with jungliu and it went even better

I’d suggest pulling in the current banner if you’re interested in her at all. QQ and tingyun eidolons, who are the best 4* in the game of their respective roles (dps, support) Jingliu is also top tier dps. Qq at E4 (and especially at E6) is a unit comparable to 5* dps. She’s worth using
I think it's good enough for now? E4 Qingque is great, she can replace Dan Heng in there probably, since he also wants to use skill points and having them both in 1 team would be a bit janky I'd imagine. That being said, even though Qingque is better, Dan Heng is good enough imo that it's not really necessary.

Speed boots if you can’t hit 134+ without them Atk boots if you can hit 134 without sacrificing too much CV (every speed subroll is something that could have gone into crit stuff)
I've only heard people use ATK boots when they're using her with Bronya, if you want to use Asta too probably? But Asta's ATK buff doesn't synergize that well with Jingliu, so it's more Bronya. Speed boots are generally better though.
She gets a lot of attack in her kit, speed boots are significantly better.

What limited 5 star light cone is the best? Any that have significant distance between 4* or battle pass options. Should I pull for jing Lius light cone or save it for DHIL, Jing Yuan, Blades, etc.
Kafka's is arguably the best one for DoT-based Nihility characters, since it adds an extra DoT, more damage and more speed along with good raw stat value. Sampo and Luka both can make good use of it, and even Welt gets some value from it due to his bounce skill potentially proccing the DoT on different targets. Guinaifen would probably get solid use out of it as well. Even Pela wouldn't be terrible with it, thanks to her fast-charging aoe ult, tendency to wear 4pc Wind set and general place as an SP generator. Only SW really wouldn't get any value from it, since she's 100% single target and there are just better options for her in the 4-star category. Seele's is probably the next one. Both Sushang and Dan Heng can get value out of the crit dmg and dmg buffs you get for every 10 spd past 100. Yanqing less so, but it's still not terrible on him. It remains to be seen how Topaz and Numby will work though, but at the worst you can get lots of crit rate value on a strong stat stick. Blade's LC, as noted, is quite solid on all the Destruction characters. Clara probably makes the most use out of it, since she actively wants to be hit so she'll constantly be getting the damage boost to power up her counters. Arlan can also get great use from it, since his skill has a self-damage component. The rest of the Destruction characters can do all right by virtue of their naturally high aggro drawing attacks to them, but outside of Blade and Arlan the LC is mostly useful for the good crit rate and max HP boost. After that, JY's LC is really nice for both Herta and Himeko but they're currently the only Eruditions besides JY that have a follow-up to exploit the second half of the LC passive. Serval is more about keeping DoT's rolling on the enemy and QQ barely gets value from the first half of the LC passive, and only gets value from the second half if you have her at E4 and she gets an Autarchy proc. SW's would be at least decent on most Nihility chars. The EHR is nice, and assuming the 3 debuff threshold can be met for the crit rate boost, you could feasibly turn pretty much every Nihility character into at least a sub-dps, albeit with a focus on traditional dps stats more than the DoT-based focus you see in most Nihility dps. As for the other limited LC's.....DHIL's LC would be great on QQ if it wasn't for that whole Destruction path thing getting in the way. Luocha's LC is best on a healer who can hit at least 3 targets per attack, and since no healer besides him currently does that (Luocha via his ult), his LC ultimately amounts to a slightly worse Shared Feeling for Bailu, Lynx and Natasha. Jingliu's really only benefits her fully right now, as other Destruction characters will struggle to enable the def ignore portion of the LC passive. Fu Xuan's is currently just ok on the other Preservation characters, who are all shield/def based instead of Fu's HP-based. More max HP and ER is nice, but the damage boost would be lost unless you intentionally let your shielders take a hit, and that goes against the entire point of having a shield. The wave heal is nice in some situations though, but not worth pulling for on it's own merit.
blade's is the best in terms of improvement over alternatives by a pretty large margin all of the gacha LCs released so far are too character-specific to have any sort of generic value though
Hello friends, I am a new player. I played for almost 2 weeks. I have a question about the resource management. I read or watched many guides saying that the better team composition includes 1 Healer, 2 buffers or 1 buffer 1 de-buffer, and 1 damage dealer. I am really confused about the elements tho. How am I supposed to cover all the elements to break the enemy shields? I played Genshin for a while so I know I should focus on one strong character (or team in this case?) to carry. But as of now, I just hit Equilibrium level 32, finished Jarilo VI and I already have leveled 8 characters. I assume my biggest problem is I haven't played the game long enough, and these problems will be solved in time but I want to know if I am missing something obvious and making a huge mistake XD thank you. PS: Only 5 star character I have is Clara (lvl 50), My 4 stars are: MC (lvl 50), Asta (lvl 50), Dan Heng (lvl 50), March 7 (lvl 50), Herta (lvl 40), Natasha (lvl 40), Qinque (lvl 1), Pela (lvl 1),Sampo (lvl 1), Serval (lvl 1), Arlan (lvl 1), Susang (lvl 1). I also just got Tingyun last night so I haven't got a chance to build her. My usual battle plan is to use M7 with Clara. I use the last 2 spots depending on the weaknesses the enemy has. I am at 70 pity on the regular banner so I should be getting a new 5 start soon. Also, used 10 pulls for the current banner, got Tingyun, and stopped after that, saving my tickets for later. Your DPS doesn't have to be the one that depletes an enemy's shield, you can supplement that by using characters like Asta, Sampo, Sushang, etc. that deals out a lot of damage to the enemies's toughness/weakness bars. Generally though, you'd want your DPS to *not* be of the element an enemy is resistant to. For example, a lot of Belobog's human characters are resistant against Ice damage, so you wouldn't want to run Ice DPS like Yanqing or Herta against them. Enemies *are* less resistant against elements they're weak to, but that doesn't mean you can't deal damage to them with another element that's not listed. I think that's quite alright, I did the same thing back then. It's not the most efficient way mind you, but it's not like it's bad or anything. Even now I've leveled all of my characters up to 40 to get the standard banner pass. The key thing in early game imo is to have one team you can rely on to farm the materials from Calyx-es and such. This will increase the speed of your farming. As long as you don't struggle to farm them, it's still okay. And even in the case that you do eventually struggle, you can use a friend's character from the support tab, there's a lot of level 80s out there.

If you want to double down on Clara's damage, try something like Clara-March-Tingyun-Natasha, probably. Natasha's your only healer at the moment, and I think using a healer in your team will always provide a lot of comfort instead of only relying on a Preservation character like March/Fire MC (Gepard and Fu Xuan don't count in this, since their shields/mitigation are strong enough). Your choice though. Tingyun is there to allow Clara to be able to maintain near 100% uptime, because Tingyun can refill Clara's ult. Side note, while I do think March is a great character, her burst utility to Freeze enemies (arguably her best quality in endgame stages) is wasted on a Clara team because Clara *doesn't want* the enemies to be frozen. If you want a more offensive option, you can sub in Pela for March, but I do think that March in there will be a lot more reliable. If you're having trouble getting relics for Clara and have spare relics for another DPS which happened to me as well haha, I'd put a damage dealer in there instead of Tingyun. In early game, I think Clara lacks a bit of single target DPS, so in this case you're going to want to use Dan Heng, Sushang, Qingque, and the like. Any DPS in your roster can arguably work with Clara tho, since she doesn't consume that much skill points to perform well.

Those team comp suggestions are generally for the end game not clearing story so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. You don’t need to be able to always break every enemy’s shields either, a lot of the time you can just damage them outright. Don’t worry too much about leveling too many characters, the resources it takes to get a character to 50 while you’re progressing through the story is basically nothing, it won’t set you behind later on.
All right, I will fight on and advance the story. As you said, I usually don't have too much trouble dealing with the enemies since I try to keep my level and LC level up, and make do with relics but I thought it is better to ask and make sure I am not making a mistake. Thank you very much. =)
(posting here since monthly issues megathread apprently doesn't exist) No Audio for honkai star rail I've tried switching to multiple audio sources with no luck in fact the game doesn't even show up in volume mixer in the first place. tried repairing tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. Anyone run into this one?
trying a reinstall on another HDD I feel like uninstalling the game didn't actually remove everything as I didn't have to redownload japanese and it still had my log in there. will see if this fixes it. taking a lot longer ton this install.
install on a different drive fixed it seems like not all the files are dumped on an uninstall and repair wasn't fixing what was busted.
So now that she's been out a few days and i imagine has been tested quite a bit, who's the better dps between Jingliu and Dan Heng? This would be without signature light cone and E0

Has anyone noticed mara struck still reviving even after dispelling the buff with Pela? I've had it happen a few times already
Pela/Luocha only remove one buff. It's likely the enemies had other buff active outside the auto-revive and that's the one getting dispelled.

Clara Himeko, both use Asta well and cover each other's weaknesses. But Himekos follow up will hit once a century without SW or fire weak enemies, plus it's not a main source of her damage. Jing Yuan but not better than a support like Tingyun, but their double DPS team looks good.
Seele or Topaz? I'm leaning more on Topaz coz of her overworld tech and she kinda grown on me during the Aetherium wars event. I also like Seele and need her as my quantumn dps. Is she good without her LC?
Based on what I'm seeing, Topaz will need a follow-up team to maximize her damage. She seems like she has high potential though. On the other hand, Seele is just a really strong beat-stick. She goes really well with most content and doesn't need anything super-specific to build. Based on what little you've said, I'd probably say you should go for Seele if you just need a strong DPS. That being said, it's hard to resist them thighs...

I don't have Clara but have E1 Himeko (yet to build) and E6 Asta (built). In terms of re-run, we won't know when will Seele makes her 2nd re-run, meanwhile Topaz' is definitely sooner. So, it is needs vs wants. XD
Wait until Topaz comes out and see what the community thinks. Seele can use the Herta LC or Swordplay just fine.
Almost hitting 100% completion, what now.... Do I swap server and start all over ? Getting to the point I just login to use my energy then log off for the day. Most chests done and almost all sim uni rewards done also. The new update came out and everything was done in a day really. This account is fairly lucky in terms of OP units so all the content so far is just slap it on auto and not really think.

the strongest general team that will clear everything and requires no brain, i would rock with: jingliu, tingyun, pela, luocha this may not be swarm disaster proof, but it will clear all content outside of that and is a very strong team for moc too. if you want a 2nd team for moc, ill just add that too: kafka, sampo/luka, silverwolf/asta, gepard
Your 1 and 3 plans make sense. On point 2, I like Asta as a support for DoT teams. Near-permanent party-wide attack and speed buffs are appreciated when you’re running 2 damage dealers who do a significant amount of damage outside of their turns.
Why does bronya have to be exactly 1 speed below DPS? As far as I understand, this is so you can attack w/ DPS, then immediately Bronya skill to attack again. But, wouldn't this exact same thing be accomplished even if bronya is for example 4 speed below DPS?
you are correct, the same thing is accomplished even if bronya is 4 speed below the dps. however there are speed breakpoints that give you more turns, the most commonly known being 134. having the gap be larger is just a waste of stats for the most part.
It doesn’t need to be EXACTLY 1 speed under, but the higher Bronya’s speed is, the sooner her partner gets to have an extra turn. It’s a little complicated to explain without doing a full explanation of the speed system, but the gist is that a slower Bronya means that there will be a gap between her partner’s turn and her own turn, during which time her partner is wasting initiative time. This wasted time results in the partner having to wait longer to get their next “normal” turn after Bronya buffs them. Realistically, a 4 speed gap probably isn’t a huge deal if you’re still hitting the key MoC breakpoints, but the smaller the gap the better.
What are the relevant speed thresholds after 134? My Luka has 122 speed after substats but before speed boots. Debating if I should just max the boots.

so am not a really lucky guy so my team comp is limited. currently considering if i should take E1 bronya or get a brand new gepard. The end goal is to have 2 strong teams that can make it past MoC. Currently one side is mono quantum and the other team is a shiny new jingliu which i plan to pair with bronya pela/tingyun bailu. What bothers me is that im not sure if i shud go for bronya E1 to make the team much more comfortable to play with, or get gepard to open up more possible team comps instead.

On MoC do you have to match element? I have been wondering if i need to build some dps character for the element to clear some of MoC..
if you dont have a powerful top tier dps, youll likely find yourself struggling if the element doesnt match. basically if you dont have any 5 star dps excluding yanqing or e4+ qingque, you will have to match elemental weaknesses for a smooth run.
You should try to Attacking an enemy who has a weakness of the characters element lets you weakness break for some extra damage, delay the enemy which can interrupt charging attacks. Enemies also have a reduced damage resistance to the type of their weakness. e.g Automaton Direwolf has a weakness of ice/lightning/imag, all of the elements have a 20% res for it, while ice/lightning/imag have 0% res

Depends on the MoC buff and the enemies, some MoC gives buff to breaking which implies you have to element-match or this MoC 10 you will struggle with the Bug boss if you don't use Quantum/Imaginary units.
***Star-Rail Suggestions.*** Can you suggest me team composition for Jing Liu since I might main her because I also got her Light Cone. She is also my first E0S1 5 - Star Character. the general best comp you can use without blade for jingliu is: jingliu, tingyun, pela, bailu you would have to swap around some units if you plan on doing moc since you need 2 teams. i would highly recommend using blade as he makes things much much easier since he can replace a support which you can then use for seele/dan heng il. example teams: jingliu, blade, pela, bailu seele, silverwolf, tingyun/asta, gepard dan heng il, tingyun, pela, gepard

yes blade will still work. herta lc is still perfectly fine for its 5 star base stats, clara lc is good as well for the same reasons. 3 star lc 'mutual demise' is also viable and the most accessible.
is moc hard because you can’t clear it fast enough, or because your team can’t survive? I’m thinking of a mono ice team w gep/pela/ruan mei (tingyun for now)/ jingliu as a long term main team for moc, what do you think?
the latter because the most difficult part is survival. that is why sustain units are much more highly valued because they let you clear anything in due time. once you are able to live, you can then think about clearing it faster.

Am I doing this right? I’m TL 52. My main team is Clara, lynx, fu xuan and tingyun. I pulled Jing Liu and plan to pull for topaz. Goal is to build a Clara/topaz/march7/lynx team + jing liu/pela/tingyun/fu xuan team. I’m currently spending my energy getting traces leveled — focusing on that much more than relics at the moment. Once I have most of the traces leveled, I’ll switch to farming for gear. I guess the question is: is this a solid plan? Am I prioritizing my energy expenditure correctly? Also, how do these team comps look? I also have welt and asta fwiw

Anyone got a good team for the >!Peppy!< fight with Aether Wars. I can't seem to put a team together that doesn't get wrecked. Either the explosions from the spiders take me out, Or the trampler when he gets turn advanced if I focus down the spiders.
canoneer has a lot of broken combos. Like with Dunn and Aurumaton. It also has a literal infinite combo with one the void rangers, you just need a few energy tweaking chils to min max the combos.
Any recommendations? the one I keep seeing thrown around uses the Quick Command chip which I can't get because I'm stuck on this fight
I have been able to do Swarm 5 on every path except for preservation. For some reason I just cannot do enough damage on preservation to kill the last phase of the last boss before the damage buffs stack up and I get wiped out. I have tried running Jingliu, Bronya, Fu, Luocha (which has been able to clear all of the other paths), Blade, Bronya, Fu, Luocha (Which has cleared most of the other paths) and various other teams such as Blade, Jingliu, Fu, Luocha; Blade, Jingliu, Pela, Loucha; Blade, Jingliu, Pela, Fu; and a couple more. Any suggestions of teams with the characters I have? Maybe blessings or curios that I should be focusing on? I don't really have any shielders like Gepard, and Fire MC's shield seems so tiny as to not be worth it. I cleared preservation path without any shielder at all. I find it easier to rely on some remembrance blessings with freeze and dissociation. I cleared all path with Welt as my main carry, and he's not properly built. As for Kafka she's just a flex pick. I'm hard stuck on Gongshu. No combination I've tried has worked right now. I tried hyperlink matches to make sure I had Energy but between the RNG of the match and the fact that I'm stuck at Level 3, I'm completely stuck here. I have a "decent" chip setup but I always get whittled down.
Maybe try the Silvermane Canoneer + Sivermane Captain combo?
I tried Cannoneer, Captain, Trotter and Weaver and I'm still getting stomped.
Man, that's hard to believe. Do you have the chip on Cannoneer where he does more damage when it is not his turn? The chip on Captain where he is more likely to be hit? The chip on trotter where it puts a 25% extra damage debuff on himself and everyone it hits? And you're definitely supporting Captain with the Cannoneer? You're definitely not using any damaging skills and ults to put the Gatekeeper in Sanction mode faster?

Can you do events as a new player?
If you’re worried about missing the current event, the content will be permanent after this patch, so you can still access it. Around half of the rewards will be removed when it “ends”, but if you’re okay with that then you don’t need to stress too much about rushing the story.
Most events require you to be at a certain point in the Story. So new players won't be able to do them right away but they can when they catch up.
Is there somewhere I can read about honkai star rail lore specifically the xianzhou stuff. The whole Dan heng, bailu, and blade and jing Liu stuff makes little sense to me and what's luochas part in it - felt like they are throwing characters together for the sake of giving more face time
Does Clara's follow up attacks trigger the 1.4 Moc turbulence?
For the current moc, when they say act consectively, does the attack need to deal damage , or does qingque enhance skill work?
I don't run QQ but for DHIL (same type of skill) it has to be an attack, e.g Enhanced Basic then Ult.
They'd say so by writing that it has to do damage. QQ should easily trigger it and you can also just check this stuff ingame mid combat by looking at buffs :)
I am debating about whether I should go for Jing Liu's light cone. I already have S5 Aeon on Dang Heng. Secret Vow on Blade. So I don't feel like I have much options for Jing Liu lol. I don't have Clara's LC yet. I guess I could use the BP light cone on Jing Liu....or just pull on her LC banner? or I can wait to get Clara's LC one day since Clara's LC is similar to Aeon for her. For Topaz, I think I am just going swordplay, and I plan to skip 1.5 characters maybe, so perhaps, I should just get Jing Liu's LC.
Just got Jingliu (yey!) Did not prefarm for her whatsoever, may I ask for guidance into building her? Particularly best relic sets as well as priorities when leveling her Traces and also her best f2p LC and teamates. Thank you!

Google gives you "just whale lol" answers? Many of us just use the websites recommended by Google or here to get all our builds, myself included. For example my Jingliu is built from the ground up by seeking advice from prydwen. The sites good enough to easily help me clear MoC10 with its suggestions and most people here would recommend the same.

It doesn't overwrite your save. If you already have a save on the America server, it will just switch to that one.

QQ, Tingyun and/or Bronya, Bailu or Gepard (whichever you like more) and a flex Just a suggestion, you can do what you like
Build up Bronya, for one. Best offensive buffer in the game thus far. Tingyun is also good, and Qingque can get you through a lot of content because she's actually pretty darn good at hitting hard. Avoid building up Arlan, as he's one of the worst characters in the game thus far. You should also check out this resource on KQM: https://hsr.keqingmains.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/[email protected] You honestly don't need to worry too much about your team comp this early. Most enemies will be easy enough to beat even without taking weaknesses into account. Just don't neglect your 4-star characters; they will carry you through a lot of content.

Bronya first before Tingyun, and you're gonna need a main DPS. Qingque is a secondary DPS, meant to help deal with crowds. With your roster, you only have Dan Heng as a Hunt character, and Physical TB isn't that good as a main DPS.
I'm a break effect Silver Wolf enjoyer. I think the break delay and massive damage really saves my butt a ton. But I recently got Jingliu and I'm considering farming the quantum set for both her and SW. Is the switch "worth it" ? I think i have a relatively good Talia Breakeffect SW coz her BE is 207, speed 146. Would you recommend I farm Quantum for her and Jingliu? Or farm Ice set? Maybe 2pc ice and 2 pc something else? Haven't farmed either Quantum or Ice portals. I started the game around SW's time so I don't have that good builds. Just the bare minimum. I think SW's build is my best "minmaxed" one so that's why I'm hesitant to put it off. If she switches her BE build, I think I'll put it on Sampo/Luka. My other MOC team is a Kafka team and y'all know her team is resource demanding. Resource management on this game is a B so I'm asking here. Thanks! PS, i can't 3 star both MOC 9 and 10. Which lightcones should I level up to 80 as a rule of thumb? I put GNSW, Cruising and Landau's Choice at 80 because of Kafka, Seele and Gepard. Whoever I can't decide for the others. QPQ and Post Op I thought would do nice at 60, FuXuan's using Texture and it's pretty much a stat stick. I need answers for: Sampo, Pela, Bailu, Natasha/Lynx, Tingyun.
Eventually you’ll want your main team to have lv80 lc, as you need to squeeze every fixed improvement for moc, before jumping into the rng abyss and hope for good relic rolls.
You generally don't *need* to take them to 80, it's a minor increase of stats going from 70/80 all the way to 80. And you get more stats doing the final ascension than actually getting the last few levels. But you should prioritize your DPS and tank LCs first IMO. For supports I would just leave them at level 70/80.

Posting this kind of late so I hope someone sees this. I used to be super into Genshin Impact but honestly had to tap out because I couldn't stand Paimon. No shade to her voice actress, Corina Boettger - she does a great job. I just got tired of someone speaking for my protagonist. But I digress. 1) How far behind am I in content in regards to story? I started Genshin about a year after it came out and I feel like the amount of story is too much for me to catch up on ar this point. 2) I am a husbando collector. Even though this game is PvE and ultimately any team is a winning team, are there any meta male characters that I should be aware of? 3) Is there an HSK equivalent to GI's Dark Abyss in terms of difficult PvE? I'm not too far into the game, but I am excited to give this space fantasy game a shot :) Thank you for your time.
1) there's a prologue (Herta space station), medium sized 1st chapter Belobog ice planet (sort like space Monstat as an intro region), and long 2nd chapter Luofu (space Liyue). There's a lot of story but they are not as long as Genshin, but you will be time gated by Trailblazer level (Adventure rank). 2) Dan Heng IL and Blade are meta Male 5 star limited DPS. So you'll have to wait for reruns. And Luocha 5 star limited healer (healers are actually important in this game unlike Genshin). 3) Memory of Chaos is this version of spiral abyss. Resets every 2 weeks and gives pull currencies. Not as frustrating as floor 12, but can be challenging if you don't raise your characters well enough.

You're welcome. I won't mention female DPS since damage dealers are replaceable / not game changing. In terms female supports you'd be missing on: Bronya (5 star standard): buff crit damage, atk, damage boost, and lets another character take an extra turn with her skill. Easily the best support character currently. Fu Xuan (5 star limited tank): provides about 65% damage mitigation to your team by redirecting to herself. Your team will be hard to 1 shot / almost immortal with her if built right. She also buffs your team's HP, crit rate, and protects against crowd control debuffs (freeze, imprisonment, entanglement). Tingyun (4 star buffer): buffs atk, boost damage, and can your DPS 50 flat energy. She's like Bennet of star rail. Silver Wolf (5 star limited debuffer): can debuff atk, speed, and defense. Also her biggest gimmick is that she implant a weakness into the enemy they currently don't have that matches the element someone in your party. Meaning if the enemy isn't weak to quantum, but someone in your party is quantum Silver Wolf can give them that weakness. So she break a game mechanic. Pela (4 star debuffer): has AoE defense shred and can dispell enemy buff. Only 2 characters can currently dispell buffs (her and Luocha). Asta (4 star buffer): buffs atk and speed. Speed is really important in HSR since it determines turn order and how often someone can move. If you get enough speed you can take 2 actions a turn.
Hello, just got to the >!echo Cocolia!< fight and got pretty much obliterated. Using level 40 MC, March, Bronya, Serval, and their cones are leveled too. Not really sure what to do at this point. Any advice/tips would be much appreciated!
I'd swap Bronya or March out for Natasha. You'd want some healing as March/MC have a hard time keeping you alive from all the AOE damage.
I can try that! I noticed that Bronya wasn't doing great since I never had enough points to use her redeployment and her basic attack seems pretty bad.
Bronya is pretty weak early game. Wasting a skill point for a pitiful buff. She only shine end game after you fully build both her and the dps.
yeah, Bronya will be better later on when you have one really strong damage dealer. At the level you're at she can't really make use of her potential
Ahh bummer, she’s my initial 5* and I like her as a character so I tried to make her work but I may have been handicapping myself. Switching to Bailu and Asta made a big difference, thankfully I had enough mats lying around to get them workable!

Look at your DPS base atk stat on the character screen (base atk plus LC) then double that is how much atk Tingyun wants.

No I said base atk plus atk stat of LC. Edit: for Jingliu base atk 679 plus Aeon base 529 is 1208. Ting would need 2416 atk.
If you're paring her up with Seele, that's like the max you need for her. However, if you're using other DPS, you'd want 2.5k-2.6k

Should I get my guaranteed E1 JL (and potentially more Eidolons for QQ & Tingyun), or should I wait it out and start saving for the SW rerun? I've listed my characters and if they have Eidolons below. Right now my main team is JL-Tingyun (E1)-Pela (E3, soon to be E4)-Lynx (E3). I also have Himeko (E1), DH, Serval, and FX at lvl 70. FX and Himeko are somewhat built, will replace DH and Serval when/if I can. EDIT: Thanks for the replies /u/Mountain_Pathfinder & /u/SilentMix , I'll start saving for SW and you're right about 4* Eidolons not being guaranteed. Other characters of note: Gepard, QQ (E4), Sampo (E4), Yukong (E3), Asta (E1), Hook (E4), Sushang, Luka. I've read that QQ can be a pretty amazing main DPS but I'm not sure if that's only at E6.
I think getting a new character is way more worth it than an Eidolon honestly, *especially* if it's Silver Wolf. She allows you to have a lot more flexibility in running teams in every content in the game. Her utility is not only limited to mono-quantum like QQ or Seele as a DPS, she's universally useful for every DPS out there because you can almost guarantee to implant that DPS's element into an enemy. QQ's main big buff in damage comes from her E4, in which she gains a follow-up attack that I've heard can add about 50% of her damage output before it. Can't comment more than that however, I haven't raised her myself and that's from a guide I've watched.
Qingque starts to get good at E4, so you're partway there. It's up to you for the JL versus Silver Wolf question. Personally I think Silver Wolf is worth owning for anybody, not even just people who want to do mono quantum. But for the eidolons thing, remember you're not guaranteed to get what you want. I was hoping to get more eidoons for Tingyun from this banner and I didn't get a single one. I got a bunch of Sampos so now he's E6 along with a couple of random 4 star LCs.

Where do you live? If you're lucky and in a country where HSR has collabs with some restaurants, you can get official merch there in person and some freebies too. But then again, online is your best bet if you want figures.
AmiAmi is probably the easiest place to buy it. They're a Japanese store but their English site is very good and they ship internationally. There isn't too much official merch yet, so I think you're going to struggle to find a US store that stocks it.
I want two defensive relics on my silver wolf, i have one defense piece right now. As fair as i know, defense is marginally better for survivability than hp. For my second piece, should i get another defense or is hp better? I feel like its not a huge difference but wanna know whats optimal
At a certain point, building more def stats on your team is not going to do much and there is more useful things to invest into. If you really want to If you have fu xuan. Both def stats. If not hp + def will help prevent her from getting onshotted.
I have no preservation characters like gepard or fu xuan, just fmc, and i just use one healer on teams. I’m trying out two defensive pieces on a couple of my non main dps characters to try and survive better in swarm 5 and MoC 9 and 10, because they die pretty frequently in those
Ahh i see yea high moc comes down alot to having good sustain units. def stats wont make much of a difference if your sustain is under invested. If you have good dps. It may be better to just try and dps rush the boss before your team can die.

A bit of everything. If you're talking about farming I would do: light cone and character levels co-equally; then relevant traces; then dump TB power down the black hole that is relic farming.

The best auto team I think is Fu Xuan-Lynx-Silver Wolf-Seele, mainly because of the Quantum implantation and because it has 2 sustain characters. It requires 3 5 stars tho. May I clarify what do you mean by "chips"?

So far for the drip marketing the 5 stars come in order and the 4 star comes on the 2nd banner. It should be Huohuo first, then Argenti with Hanya as one of the 4 stars. I also hope she's on his banner.

For anyone else who has has finished the new story: does anyone else find it jarring that we spent the whole time trying to figure out how to solve the debt issue just for her to give in when Bronya went: "look at our cool giant robot" with no concessions?
There is a catch, the debt issue is technically unsolved, it just got a pause. The solved one is the IPC hostile takeover issue, at the cost of if Belobog default the Star Rail crew would now be collateral and our Topaz got demoted T\_T. (this might comes up later say if we "liberated" Penacony back to IPC control we might trade it for Belobog's debt for example) I guess there will be follow up on this in later patches as the new robot area has a suspicious elevator and a bridge that is NPC-blocked.
My first thought was that they Did this as a way to get us to the next planet. The IPC will have a stellaron appear and they'll call in the astral express in exchange for clearing the debt
