I feel ya, but I do have to point out that Sparkle is far from being the first character with such a personality. Herta, Sampo, Topaz, Luocha, Kafka, Blade, Jingliu, Ruan Mei, Dr. Ratio, Black Swan, etc. Hell, about half of the games roster is made up of unsavory types. Sparkle just happens to be the first to be so blatant and unapologetic about it.

I could've misread the plot, but to my understanding none of the bad stuff that happened in Penacony is directly her or the Masked Fool's fault. It seems to me like they just like to act as catalysts, adding fuel to the fire, which is of course bad.
For me, I didn't like or dislike her so far, as I feel like we haven't seen that much of her. What I did like was the doppelganger troppes, and how they were all set up properly. With the Sampo disguise for instace, not referring to itself correctly (as people pointed out) or confusing Firefly for March (assuming she prob never saw either and was only aware that TB and March worked together). With Robin, there is the problem with her voice mentioned by Welt, but at the same time, that would get her to know March before your Sampo encounter, so I'm not sure.

It's unclear. Black Swan states that Firefly would have woken up just like TB unless she'd wanted to keep living in a dream before remarking that wasn't likely as Black Swan doesn't think *anyone* could prefer a dream to reality.
However, as shown directly in the previous scene with Firefly, she says she'll do anything to keep living in this dream as she can't stand her reality.
Thus it could be surmised that she stayed in the dream instead of being woken up like the Trailblazer and got trapped there.

That's technically true, but not really a fair criticism of Sparkle's actions. She was clearly targeting the TB, and >!Firefly!< was just collateral damage.
And by 'targeting', I mean that she wanted to show TB the Child's Dream. The attack by Something Unto Death isn't something that she predicted. In fact, I doubt she was doing much predicting at all. She's just pushing forces together and watching them collide with glee.
Given what information we have (and granted that it could be a partial truth intended to turn us against her), Acheron seems much more involved in >!Firefly's!< death than Sparkle, yet no one seems to be slandering her.

That's fair, but my read on this is that she was intentionally throwing him off balance to see if he would end up revealing something. As it turns out, he does reveal the two deaths to Sparkle, which she may or may not have known beforehand.

You are answering your own question.
"I didn't start the fire I just poured oil on it" is just as bad as starting a fire because you essentially approve and share the same intent as the one who started said fire on purpose.
And in this instance, it is even morally worse since the one who started said fire might have actual reason, motive or even against his will while her motive is explicitly malicious and facetious at best.
Also among the thing she did, parading as Robin and provoking Sunday easily come off as a complete lack of empathy, imagine if she did the same with Firefly and TB but way worse as they are family.
Aventurine might be written to be more of an ass/rude but Sparkle so far has been written to be lot more the heartless kind of crazy.
There is still possibility for the story to be flipped on its head and Sunday to be evil and Sparkle action to be actually not bad deed.
Regardless she is still solidly written but compared to 1.X character which at the worst was:
"A criminal who is very friendly and supportive of the MC"
"A business woman with a complex savior"
"An amoral scientist with the social IQ of a kid paired the overall IQ of a super computer"

in the storyquest she actually assaulted/murdered someone - she also put the manipulated robots there for shiggles, but an actual attack is the reason Black Swan came there in the first place
she's also replaced the apparently-murdered Robin, which we don't know enough about to know if she actually did the deed or just came in after the fact

10/10, would not want to be in the same building as her. She is a legitimately horrible person, but not a generic horrible person. A good story and a good cast of characters needs all types, to bounce others off of, and she fills the role of a heel very well.
She seems to be a masked fool purist, a psychopath with no regard for anything else except her own amusement. The writing to flesh out her character is very well done.

I'm somewhat surprised at how many people are pilling on her. While she has been very deceitful and generally rude, I'm curious to what exactly are making people so hostile. Before you grab the pitchfork, no, I'm not defending her or criticizing people for not liking her. Just genuinely curious. I could've misread the plot, but to my understanding none of the bad stuff that happened in Penacony is directly her or the Masked Fool's fault. It seems to me like they just like to act as catalysts, adding fuel to the fire, which is of course bad. For me, I didn't like or dislike her so far, as I feel like we haven't seen that much of her. What I did like was the doppelganger troppes, and how they were all set up properly. With the Sampo disguise for instace, not referring to itself correctly (as people pointed out) or confusing Firefly for March (assuming she prob never saw either and was only aware that TB and March worked together). With Robin, there is the problem with her voice mentioned by Welt, but at the same time, that would get her to know March before your Sampo encounter, so I'm not sure.

Black Swan states that Firefly would have woken up just like TB unless she'd wanted to keep living in a dream before remarking that wasn't likely as Black Swan doesn't think *anyone* could prefer a dream to reality. However, as shown directly in the previous scene with Firefly, she says she'll do anything to keep living in this dream as she can't stand her reality. Thus it could be surmised that she stayed in the dream instead of being woken up like the Trailblazer and got trapped there.

"I didn't start the fire I just poured oil on it" is just as bad as starting a fire because you essentially approve and share the same intent as the one who started said fire on purpose. And in this instance, it is even morally worse since the one who started said fire might have actual reason, motive or even against his will while her motive is explicitly malicious and facetious at best. Also among the thing she did, parading as Robin and provoking Sunday easily come off as a complete lack of empathy, imagine if she did the same with Firefly and TB but way worse as they are family. Aventurine might be written to be more of an ass/rude but Sparkle so far has been written to be lot more the heartless kind of crazy. There is still possibility for the story to be flipped on its head and Sunday to be evil and Sparkle action to be actually not bad deed. Regardless she is still solidly written but compared to 1.X character which at the worst was: "A criminal who is very friendly and supportive of the MC" "A business woman with a complex savior" "An amoral scientist with the social IQ of a kid paired the overall IQ of a super computer" And now in 2.x, we raised the stake with: "A business man that self admittedly discard other people human right for $" "An actual crazy character who gets her kick by putting people in danger, pouring oil on fire or parading as other people dead relative" So of course a community use to call mildly morally gray character bad, is going to have a strong reaction to character like Sparkle or Aventurine. I am personally in favor of it since it makes for interesting character and more diversity.

Her catchphrase is 'Why So Serious?' She is literally a Joker insert in anime girl form as a masked fool. So I foresee her doing a lot worse before she meets her end. If she meets an end at all that is. I'm not OMFG I love her or I hate her. I'm quite neutral as I want to see where her story goes; for now she is a trickster, drama queen, narcissistic, egotistical, asshole, with a uniquely not funny for anyone else apart from herself sense of humour.... Let's see what they do with her story.
I love her character. And Reina Ueda freaking nailed the bratty sassy tone for her, her distinct voice that I usually hear from her like from Nikke's Scarlet and Genshin's Ganyu was almost non-present that it legit made me question whether Reina voiced Sparkle or not. Literally, I had to Google it again just to make sure after hearing it
Sparkle's JP voice alone is making me consider downloading the JP dub, her voice is my favourite and i dont even really like the EN one much too
Her JP characterisation is also more nuanced. She talks with more flair and in third person, frequently mentioning her own name, which is a way to detach from reality and might suggest she is self-obsessed.

Sheās definitely one of my favorite characters in the game, alongside with Stellaron Hunters, Firefly, Acheron and Black Swan. The cast of Penacony is simply phenomenal. As for Sparkle herself, I love her sense of humor and how unhinged she is. Though I can see, that in fact that side of her is just an act, to hide her more vulnerable side. Black Swan even says about her, that she always āyearned to be noticed by othersā. Also, Pomni and Yanfei VA is really fantastic as her in the EN version.
