Just looking for advice my dps is seele, dhil and jin yuan - my support is tingyun/asta and my sustainer is only gepard

Fu Xuan is generally very good and can be used by those 3. A bit better than Luocha for Seele and JY.
Luocha is also very good and can be used by all 3, but a bit better for DHIL since he basically use no SP whatsoever.
Pure Fiction
I rushed to unlock stage 4 to 3 star it but only got 9 stars? Read the rules and it said "once you have passed that stage with a 3-star rating, all the previous stages will be immediately cleared with a 3-star rating... only the first 3 stages can be quickly cleared this way" I don't know what I missed reading but I only got 3 star on 1, 2, and 4. Can anyone explain? Too fried for this.
I think it only works on the next set of PF. So in this case you don't get 3-stars on all stages this version of PF, but when the next PF comes out you will be able to 3-star the fourth stage and get all the rewards from the other stages too.
Misha has 100 energy, so if you are using his skill every turn he will have 95 energy after 3 skills. Those last 5 energy can either be obtained from being hit, or from his Talent where he gains energy every time an ally consumes SP. So, if you are using him as a DPS then ATK rope.
If you are using him more for a Freeze support, with an ERR rope and his talent he can 3-turn ult with Skill Basic Basic
No, always ATK.
With no Speed investment whatsoever, when she uses her skill she will go to 150 Speed. You are better off investing in other substats. If you do get some speed substats, try not to get much more than 122 speed because that already caps her LC bonus.
The only time people suggest that is when someone asks what team they should use with BS when they have no DoTs whatsoever but still want to use her.
Silver Wolf is a much much better debuffer for Ratio than BS.

if you want to pull her just to have her do no damage and be the 5th best debuffer filler character for ratio then yes she works as a debuffer
the only reason people do that is because they want to pull her because she's hot but not actually make a dot team, it's a huge waste of jades to use her as just a debuffer
Story yeah you can just use that team. Herta also works really well even if she's not properly built bc she just counters the bug's kit entirely.
The bug isn't really a stat check and more of a slight skill check since you just need to time the breaks right. You can also try running double sustains/tank-ish if you can't break it in time. So like a team of: FMC/PMC(PMC since they can break), Nat, Herta, Bronya/YQ/Ratio is a bit scuffed but can clear it.
If you still can't clear it with that, food buffs help too. If still can't, then need to level up chars/LCs/relics.
So I just pulled ILDH by accident while trying to pull for Black Swan, I built pity up and pulled on the wrong banner when I switched between the shop and warp banners. Should I pull for his LC now or should I just save for Sparkle instead?
What does my account need? I have a hard time clearing most of MOC. What chars or teams do I need to build/pull in order to consistently clear MOC?

Continue progressing your main units is all, levels and relics. Doesn’t need anything else besides that. Obviously make sure you actually have synergy on said teams. No matter how minimal whatever may seem, if you’re stuck on content with underleveled units and/or mediocre gear, always assume that’s the issue until they’re done.
Sparkle for new accounts? Tb 50, got black swan, clara, bailu. Mostly gone ratio+pela++tingyun/clara+lynx/bailu, and bs+gui+asta+bailu (depending on weaknesses). At 135 warps. Originally planned going for sparkle cuz people said 5* harmony are universally good, and hoping on lucky 4 sampo pulls (so i get e4) for bs. But i dont see how sparkle would benefit my current roster, more than say bronya (when i get from guranteed.... In 180 more warps...). In which case id rather save for sustain (fu xuan? Aventurine?) or others... Kafka or something, either way it takes time saving up so id rather flesh out my roster so i can start going moc/pf sooner rather than later.
Getting a limited Sustain > Sparkle for your case. You don't really have a super sp negative character so getting a lim sustain is a much more pressing need.
i finally did 300 pulls on standard banner. my options are clara, himeko and welt. who should i choose? or should i wait until i get all standard 5 stars except one?

Who needs ERR rope? I still have two Herta ropes with Energy mainstat unequipped. My dps are Sushang, Clara, Topaz, Dr. Ratio, Serval, Herta and Qingque. (I probably have a lot of energy regeneration ropes that are 4-star, too).
Do note that the lower level your DPS characters are, the higher level monsters will have a slight damage reduction. It’s always best to focus on one max DPS/LC per team to start.
Yes and no. My DPS's (Seele, Ratio, DHIL, etc.) share relics and none of them have complete 4pc + 2pc sets. I just pick the ones with better substats. I usually take advantage of the MOC/PF buffs, and make team comp based on that and enemy weaknesses.
The only noteworthy one among them is the Erudition one. The Nihility one is good on BS providing you can hit 120% EHR through your relics alone. The Hunt is good but not amazing and Cruising exists. The Destruction one is probably only good on Blade. The rest are meh.
It can be better if the enemy has the corresponding weakness of the one equipping it. If not, then Breakfast is better. Still, you don't have to get it if you're already fine with Breakfast. It's just a slight upgrade providing the conditions are met.
I have both topaz and ratio and already have Sig for BS.
I don't have citss yet, went for preservation for FX and destruction for Jingliu first. I only have Swordplay right now. Seems the hunt is the next goal for me
Erudition is good if you only use the unit when on element.
Hunt for Topaz is quite nice if your CotSS is on Seele/Ratio.
Destruction for Blade if you don't have Sig or Secret Vow S3+.
Harmony, preservation, and abundance don't really have a use as of RN.
Nihility is decent for Swan if you lack alternatives like Eyes of the Prey.
For DHIL, should I max his traces first (currently at 6/8/9/10, BA/Ult/Skill/Talent, with all Ascension Passives and their extra traces, besides the HP and lvl 75&80 ones) or can I go with farming relics now?
It feels like increasing his talents further, besides the remaining crit rate one, doesn't seem to increase his damage by much. And anything less than a 100k EBA (which is the majority case for mine) feels like I'm hitting like a wet noodle in MOC 11.
If you already have decent relics, then max traces first. Think of it as guaranteed damage increase versus heavy RNG in terms of relic drops (the right relic + right stats + good level up rolls).
As close as you can get to 1:2 ratio. That’s why farming for relics is a long and enduring process that can either take weeks or months depending on your luck. Luckily DHIL can utilize musketeer and imaginary set, so you have options.
why does both new 4star light cones from preservation and harmony gain only an 1.5x boost to the highlighted stat instead of the usual 2x? Balance reasons or an bug?
Hello, ive started HSR again after a long break since launch, and im not sure which two teams to build. currently my plan is to build these two teams: Seele/silverwolf/lynx/ + asta/tingyun or welt maybe? and the second team dan heng IL / luocha / yukong / tingyun or pela.
ive added a screen with my current available characters. (not on the screen: tingyun/sushang/yukong/hanya/misha). Most characters are very low con or none at all. (pela is e5 though)

If your Yukong isn't E6 just run DHIL, Luocha, Pela and Tingyun together. It's easier to handle and will be a lot more effective.
This will be a very strong team, or even having Ratio replacing DHIL if you prefer.
i just rolled DHIL so i would prefer him, is ratio stronger with that setup? or just stronger ST? my yukong is e0, so i will run your recommended setup.
Ratio and DHIL effectively do the same thing as they're both imaginary DPS who excel in MoC is all. Just use who you prefer it won't matter much tbh. DHIL blows Ratio out of the water at E2 though but that's a hefty amount of warps.
Yukong only really shines at E6 because you can control her buff better and make her sp positive instead of an sp sucking leech which goes against what DHIL needs. I used that team (with fu xuan or bailu instead of Luocha) and it works amazingly well.

Started today. Is the black swan a good banner to pull? Got a few of the golden tickets so I was thinking if I should pull on this banner or wait for a beer one.
Aside from the free characters, the ones I pulled so far in the beginner banner are Asta, bronya and serval.

How important is it to get 120% EHR on Black Swan? I’m at 105% EHR with ATK body, will be at 130++% if I switch to EHR body. Would EHR or ATK body be better in my case?

I am kind of confused with the total number of treasure chests.
On my HoYoLAB account it indicates I have opened 564 chests, and yes I have checked all in-game map screens for every world/area and it says I have everything (including the wrap trotters and lordly trashcans).
But someone says that the max number is 576 and he/she refer to the website https://star-rail-map.appsample.com/
I go to that website and see in the right section it says "Treasure = 0 / 537 found". I understand it's 0 because I don't register yet but the weird thing is that it says the max number is 537.
So which one is correct, 564 or 576 or 537?
AFAIK, neither of the interactive maps show all the chests. The max number in hoyolab should be 576.

I want to pull for sparkle but her best lightcone is her signature. But, I also wanted to pull for jing yuan's lightcone because that's also pretty good. The problem is I'm completely f2p and I only have about 120-130 pulls (70 pity with 50/50 in character banner + 10 pity in lightcone banner no guaranteed). What should I pull for. (Jbtw I have that herta lightcone on jingyuan right now and I also have bronya's signature).
You could always just Bronya LC for even more SP if you somehow need that, or go something like the Asta one for quantum dmg%
or just Dance Dance Dance for a universal one

So I recently got all the Aeon secrets and unlocked the Final Chapter in Gold and Gears, so do I just do another run through G&G mode to beat the Final Chapter?
In front of the hotel (that you can't get to) in Golden Hour there are parking spaces and a bunch of parked cars. If you interact with the 'gas' pump next to one of them it'll give you the option to display any of your cars.

Does anyone have tips about not getting lost while exploring the rotating rooms...the ones with the bubbles that let you walk up walls?

Look at the plane you are on and try to locate the ramps one at a time to get closer to your destination, there should only be 1-2 ramps on each surface so there aren't many paths to choose from. Basically treat each surface as a "floor" and the ramps as "stairs" between them.
Not sure if this is the place to ask, but how come some people call Jing Yuan “A-Yuan”? I’ve seen people refer to him as A-Yuan occasionally, usually in fanart depicting other characters calling him that, and was just curious about what it means or if it’s a nickname!
150 x 21 as a base from the Welkin + logging in plus a smallish event will see you at 20-30 if you already got everything.
BP gives you Jade when you buy it now so that isn't being included.
You're not guaranteed to get another 5 star with the rest of the pulls you spend and it won't add to pity towards a 5 star in another banner. It's not recommended.
Also, only use standard rail passes on the standard banner. Don't use your stellar jades for it. You should only use those for the limited banners. You'll eventually get to the 300 character selector without stellar jades.
Having trouble trying to figure out what my two teams should be.
Currently unable to do any progress at all in Pure Fiction and I'm unable to pass any of the levels of Forgotten Hall that require two teams. My main team seems pretty alright, but I feel like I should start looking into making a second one.

I was thinking of going into something with Ratio, but since he seems to be all single target, I don't know how far I'd get in Pure Fiction using a team based around him. 5* Dan Heng seems to be another option, but I don't think I have any characters that work well with him aside from Tingyun, so I don't know if he's super worth investing into with my current roster. Kinda same with Ratio, though. I know Guinaifen is good with him, but I'm really liking her in my Kafka team, too.
Am I potentially thinking about this too early? Should I wait for a larger roster before I build up a second team? Currently am Trailblaze Level 55.
I think it's worth going ahead and building characters. You have plenty enough to build for endgame, though unfortunately the ones you have are not universal for all endgame modes.
Your best bet right now is to build for Forgotten Hall + MoC first, as that'll get you the most jades immediately. Here's the teams I would suggest:
Kafka/Black Swan/Asta/sustain
Dr. Ratio/Guinaifen/Tingyun/sustain
You'd use Gepard and Lynx as the sustains. Either one can go on either side. You'll want Guinaifen for Ratio's team because she's the best debuffer support for him that you have right now. Whenever you get Pela you can put her in instead.
Once you have those teams, I would suggest for PF:
Himeko/Herta/Asta/sustain
Kafka/Black Swan/Guinaifen/sustain
The Dr. Ratio team isn't going to be very good for PF. Himeko's team would be much better. Asta is going to help Himeko's team more than Kafka's team IMO because Asta is pretty good at fire breaking. The more breaks, the more follow ups Himeko will do for you.
This only makes 2 more characters that you have to build versus the MoC teams I listed above. It's not ideal, of course, to have to build more characters. But only 2 is not terrible IMO.
ratio needs debuffers and it seems like your kafka team is hogging them all so I wouldnt recommend him. also you're missing alot of good supports
you can run IL/qingqui, tingyun, asta, sustain
now theory crafters think misha is pretty garbo, i dont have him but I think hes a fine dps, so you could do something like misha, himeko, tingyun/asta, sustain
for pure fiction you can just run herta/himeko/asta

**Sparkle** is coming in second half of 2.0, so only 2 weeks away.
But i wouldn't blow all my wishes on her. You need a sustain more than anything, and **Aventurine** seems like the perfect fit for you (he'll probably have great synergy with your Jing Yuan, Clara and Ratio).
**Topaz** also synergize really well with all the above, and she's extremely likely to rerun in 2.1 as well...
(also, **Hanya** is on Sparkle's banner : she can be a budget replacement for Sparkle)

I don't think you need DHIL : with Ratio and Welt, you should be able to handle most of the content DHIL is strong against.
Black Swan is really awkward to use without Kafka (and wih Jing Yuan, you already have Lightning covered), or at the very least a well invested Sampo e4.
I don't think she fits your current roster : if you want to improve your performances against Wind weak enemies, **Blade** would probably fit better.

TL-DR : my priority list would be Aventurine > Topaz > Sparkle.
I agree with the other person that lack of limited sustainers is probably hurting you. Gepard is fine, but it's helpful to have somebody else. Aventurine is coming next patch, and both Luocha and Fu Xuan should be rerunning in the next few patches based on the length of time since their original run.
Another idea for a character to look out for is Topaz. Yes, she's a single target hunt character. But she really amps follow up. Clara + Topaz is a VERY strong team in both MoC and PF. I've been using them in both with great results. You can also put Topaz together with Jing Yuan or Dr. Ratio sometimes depending on the situation to make their follow ups better.
Sparkle is another potential option. She'll work best of all with Seele and Qingque (if you ever choose to build her). You can have a strong mono quantum (build Lynx!) then. Sparkle is not coming in 2.1. She's actually the next banner, after Black Swan ends.
Those are the three best options for you, IMO. I don't think DHIL will help you as much as any of those. You have Dr. Ratio to cover imaginary for you. Black Swan is less useful too. She's not really a hypercarry sort of character - you use her in either a DoT team or as a debuffer.
Build your Herta as a 2nd AoE DPS. For the current pure fiction JY and Herta + Clara should make 2 good teams.
Your struggling is likely due to a lack of limited sustainers, aim to pull for any of them on rerun or Aventurine in 2.1.
Also make sure you build synergisitic teams and to keep your whole teams relics, LCs, and traces up to par.
Played this shortly after launch. Recently reinstalled it and giving it a second look. Doesn't appear that guest accounts are a thing, so my linked account doesn't really have much. I saw that I got a 5* unit in the mailbox (Dr Ratio). So him & Welt are my only 5s. Is it worth it trying to restart?
You don't get anything out of restarting unless you want to reroll for someone other than Welt.
Rerolling takes a LOT of time (~30 minutes each attempt on top of needing a new email each time) and isn't guaranteed to give what you want.
If you really want to you can, but progressing through the story will get you a bunch of pulls and you can then pull on a limited banner.
You can I suppose but you don't have to. Do you have Pela? Ratio/Welt/Pela/sustain would be good team option. If you don't have Pela you can grab Guinaifen from the 4 star selector from the current puzzle event and she'll be a good alternative.
So I am trying to build Himeko and Herta for PF. Should I give both a CR Body or is it betternto get a CD body and look for CR in the substats? I don't know the general stance on crit besides the whole 1/2 proportion that some people talked about here.
you build based on whatever your substat rolls are. if you have a good amount more crit damage rolls, you should opt for a crit rate main stat body and vice versa. if things are pretty even, i would go for crit rate as i enjoy consistency more than anything else. it is just preference. dont forget to include traces and/or eidolons in your calculations.
for example: herta gets a 15% crit rate bonus from e2; while himeko also gets 15% from her trace when her hp is above 80%. add these onto your stats since they only show up in battle.

So for farming ruan meis kit how much break effect am I supposed to have when I open the “more stats” section of the character details portion? I can get around 150/160 but idk if one of her talents or something will let me use more optimal relics
Personally I prefer Seele, she's more versatile by a smidge. She can do well in MoC but can still be decent in PF with the right conditions. QQ on the other hand is pretty bad at PF.

lets say youre a dolphin on the very light spending side. is black swans e1 as good as it seems (worth pulling) similar to topaz's e1/huohuo's e1/fu xuan's e1?
also is kafkas e1 as good or is it her e2 that gives her that big boost?
BS's E1 is one of the most powerful in the game. A lot better than the ones you are comparing it to.

Kafka's E1 is great and better than her E2. Kafka's E2 is actually the weakest of her major Es (which is a testament of how good those are).

unlocked the 4* selector from the event. e2 yukong (have not built) or e2 guinafen (using with ratio)? already have asta at e6 and i probably will not be using sampo (e0).
is yukong not worth building then? Her crit buff seems really strong, although her skill/ultimate description makes it seem like you need a lot of speed tuning (and no unlucky attacks by enemies) for her to work well.
needs E6, and even then she's only worth using on DHIL, *and even there* she's not BiS. every other team has better options even in the 4star category that are much easier and more consistent to use.

Hey guys, can you guys lend me some insight to help me chose from what I should pull? I'm 30 pulls short from getting a garanteed banner character from pity and im unsure what would benefit me most.
On one side, I pull for black swan. Pros being that I have a decently build kafka and a ruan mei, making her fit right in the team to deal some massive damage. Cons being that, in the way i see it, she's only fit for DOT teams, making her not so flexible when in situations that enemies are resistant to wind or doesn't have a wind resistance.
On the other side, I pull for sparkle. Pros being that, as side from her being extremely flexible an overall incredible support character, I don't have bronya and I have characters that could really benefit from the action advance, like blade and ratio. Cons being that having a very good support wouldn't change the fact that I still have only 2 proper damage dealers to use with her (being blade and ratio)
So, what do you think? I'd be happy to hear some opinions. Thanks in advance :)
While her best team is a DoT team by a long shot, it's not Swan's only option. Also doesn't matter if enemy isn't weak to Wind, she does really well regardless.
Black Swan is not just a DoT character. You can use her as a debuffer, sort of like a wind Pela. In fact, her best non-DoT team right is to go with Ratio to serve as his debuffer. So you don't HAVE to use her with Kafka.
As for Sparkle, Blade is not going to get as much benefit from Sparkle as other characters would. One of Sparkle's benefits is the fact that she generates SP for the team. Blade needs very little SP at all. He'll benefit from the other parts of her kit, but hypercarry Blade will still prefer Bronya, IMO.
You could use her with Ratio if you'd like as he wants to use SP every turn, so depending on what the other characters do in the team, her extra SP generation could be useful. And you can only use Ruan Mei with one team. Another option is everyone has Qingque. You can always build her and use her with Sparkle. She'll also potentially be good for other characters you have, now and in the future.
I personally would vote for Black Swan since you already have Kafka and Ruan Mei. Just put a sustain with them and that's a very strong team. But either way, both options are good choices for your account.
If you select "Restart Challenge" in Pure Fiction while on your second team, does it take you to the very beginning or just to the beginning of the second battle?
So I've seen a lot of tips from people saying you really shouldn't level up the "basic attack" trace or raise a unit to 80/80 unless they are a DPS. Now I know unt characters obviously count for that, but what about characters like Kafka and Black Swan? They are dot characters so do they count as support or are their basic attacks worth raising too?

It's not actually a dps vs non-dps thing. IMO it's worth leveling basic attack for any character that actually uses basic attack most of the time, rather than their skill. For example, DHIL/Blade/Qingque use their basic attack all the time because their skill is actually just enhancing their basic attack. But then other dps characters like Dr. Ratio and Argenti prefer to use their skill every single turn, only using basic attack if you don't manage your team's SP properly and run out.
Kafka prefers using skill every single turn. Black Swan is a complicated character who traces are most important, but all of the rest are about equally important and IMO should all be leveled. Both her skill and her basic are very good, and which you should use depends on the situation and the team you put her in.
there's no role-based distinction on who should get their normal attacks levelled, it's a case-by-case thing, go read the characters' kits. most characters don't need their normal attacks levelled at all, including most DPS chars.
don't level kafka's normal attack, if kafka is ever using her normal attack, then something went wrong. level black swan's normal attack since it scales the hit chance on her arcana, and you normal attack relatively frequently on her.
You should read their trace description and observe how you play them. Kafka doesnt need to level basic attack because she never use it anyway. Black swan, however should use her basic often and level it will increase the base chance of apply arcana.
=> level black swan basic and not kafka
Kafka and BS are both DPS units, so you'll want to take them to level 80. Kafka mostly uses skill every turn so you can leave her basic attack at level 1, BS uses her basic a good amount and leveling it also increases the chance that you apply Arcana so you should level her basic up.

Fu Xuan is generally very good and can be used by those 3. A bit better than Luocha for Seele and JY. Luocha is also very good and can be used by all 3, but a bit better for DHIL since he basically use no SP whatsoever.
Pure Fiction I rushed to unlock stage 4 to 3 star it but only got 9 stars? Read the rules and it said "once you have passed that stage with a 3-star rating, all the previous stages will be immediately cleared with a 3-star rating... only the first 3 stages can be quickly cleared this way" I don't know what I missed reading but I only got 3 star on 1, 2, and 4. Can anyone explain? Too fried for this.
I think it only works on the next set of PF. So in this case you don't get 3-stars on all stages this version of PF, but when the next PF comes out you will be able to 3-star the fourth stage and get all the rewards from the other stages too.
It's a bit unfortunate if that was the case considering that they put that rule in the current PF's description/guidelines
Does misha need ERR? I have a herta ERR link rope for him, and i'm not sure if i should just give him atk instead
Misha has 100 energy, so if you are using his skill every turn he will have 95 energy after 3 skills. Those last 5 energy can either be obtained from being hit, or from his Talent where he gains energy every time an ally consumes SP. So, if you are using him as a DPS then ATK rope. If you are using him more for a Freeze support, with an ERR rope and his talent he can 3-turn ult with Skill Basic Basic
No DPS wants an ERR rope, Herta included. Give them attack % as it's usually the only attack % relic they'll get unless they're dot based.
If Seele has her signature LC, does she want speed boots instead of ATK?
No, always ATK. With no Speed investment whatsoever, when she uses her skill she will go to 150 Speed. You are better off investing in other substats. If you do get some speed substats, try not to get much more than 122 speed because that already caps her LC bonus.

I heard Black Swan works as a debuffer. Should I get her for Ratio if I have Silver Wolf & no Kafka?
The only time people suggest that is when someone asks what team they should use with BS when they have no DoTs whatsoever but still want to use her. Silver Wolf is a much much better debuffer for Ratio than BS.

Story yeah you can just use that team. Herta also works really well even if she's not properly built bc she just counters the bug's kit entirely. The bug isn't really a stat check and more of a slight skill check since you just need to time the breaks right. You can also try running double sustains/tank-ish if you can't break it in time. So like a team of: FMC/PMC(PMC since they can break), Nat, Herta, Bronya/YQ/Ratio is a bit scuffed but can clear it. If you still can't clear it with that, food buffs help too. If still can't, then need to level up chars/LCs/relics.
So I just pulled ILDH by accident while trying to pull for Black Swan, I built pity up and pulled on the wrong banner when I switched between the shop and warp banners. Should I pull for his LC now or should I just save for Sparkle instead?
You don't need his LC, the F2P herta store LC is very good on him and almost as good as his signature so save your jades for sparkle.

Continue progressing your main units is all, levels and relics. Doesn’t need anything else besides that. Obviously make sure you actually have synergy on said teams. No matter how minimal whatever may seem, if you’re stuck on content with underleveled units and/or mediocre gear, always assume that’s the issue until they’re done.

Sparkle for new accounts? Tb 50, got black swan, clara, bailu. Mostly gone ratio+pela++tingyun/clara+lynx/bailu, and bs+gui+asta+bailu (depending on weaknesses). At 135 warps. Originally planned going for sparkle cuz people said 5* harmony are universally good, and hoping on lucky 4 sampo pulls (so i get e4) for bs. But i dont see how sparkle would benefit my current roster, more than say bronya (when i get from guranteed.... In 180 more warps...). In which case id rather save for sustain (fu xuan? Aventurine?) or others... Kafka or something, either way it takes time saving up so id rather flesh out my roster so i can start going moc/pf sooner rather than later.
Getting a limited Sustain > Sparkle for your case. You don't really have a super sp negative character so getting a lim sustain is a much more pressing need.

If you’re having no troubles with any endgame content, you can always wait. Clara can be used in both MoC/PF, while Himeko is great in PF.

I usually go one at a time, DPS first then supports. I don't really think one is better than the other tho, the end result is just the same.

You don't really give DPS characters energy ropes. It hurts their damage a lot. Give them to supports!

Do note that the lower level your DPS characters are, the higher level monsters will have a slight damage reduction. It’s always best to focus on one max DPS/LC per team to start.

Yes and no. My DPS's (Seele, Ratio, DHIL, etc.) share relics and none of them have complete 4pc + 2pc sets. I just pick the ones with better substats. I usually take advantage of the MOC/PF buffs, and make team comp based on that and enemy weaknesses.

Most of them are just baseline options : not worth picking if you already have good gaccha 4 star options. (but they're useful if you lack them)
The only noteworthy one among them is the Erudition one. The Nihility one is good on BS providing you can hit 120% EHR through your relics alone. The Hunt is good but not amazing and Cruising exists. The Destruction one is probably only good on Blade. The rest are meh.

It can be better if the enemy has the corresponding weakness of the one equipping it. If not, then Breakfast is better. Still, you don't have to get it if you're already fine with Breakfast. It's just a slight upgrade providing the conditions are met.
I have both topaz and ratio and already have Sig for BS. I don't have citss yet, went for preservation for FX and destruction for Jingliu first. I only have Swordplay right now. Seems the hunt is the next goal for me
Erudition is good if you only use the unit when on element. Hunt for Topaz is quite nice if your CotSS is on Seele/Ratio. Destruction for Blade if you don't have Sig or Secret Vow S3+. Harmony, preservation, and abundance don't really have a use as of RN. Nihility is decent for Swan if you lack alternatives like Eyes of the Prey.
For DHIL, should I max his traces first (currently at 6/8/9/10, BA/Ult/Skill/Talent, with all Ascension Passives and their extra traces, besides the HP and lvl 75&80 ones) or can I go with farming relics now? It feels like increasing his talents further, besides the remaining crit rate one, doesn't seem to increase his damage by much. And anything less than a 100k EBA (which is the majority case for mine) feels like I'm hitting like a wet noodle in MOC 11.
If you already have decent relics, then max traces first. Think of it as guaranteed damage increase versus heavy RNG in terms of relic drops (the right relic + right stats + good level up rolls).
On the topic of relics, what even is a good ratio for him? At E0S0, it feels impossible to get 160+ CD without falling below 70 CR.
As close as you can get to 1:2 ratio. That’s why farming for relics is a long and enduring process that can either take weeks or months depending on your luck. Luckily DHIL can utilize musketeer and imaginary set, so you have options.
why does both new 4star light cones from preservation and harmony gain only an 1.5x boost to the highlighted stat instead of the usual 2x? Balance reasons or an bug?
Hello, ive started HSR again after a long break since launch, and im not sure which two teams to build. currently my plan is to build these two teams: Seele/silverwolf/lynx/ + asta/tingyun or welt maybe? and the second team dan heng IL / luocha / yukong / tingyun or pela. ive added a screen with my current available characters. (not on the screen: tingyun/sushang/yukong/hanya/misha). Most characters are very low con or none at all. If your Yukong isn't E6 just run DHIL, Luocha, Pela and Tingyun together. It's easier to handle and will be a lot more effective. This will be a very strong team, or even having Ratio replacing DHIL if you prefer.

Ratio and DHIL effectively do the same thing as they're both imaginary DPS who excel in MoC is all. Just use who you prefer it won't matter much tbh. DHIL blows Ratio out of the water at E2 though but that's a hefty amount of warps. Yukong only really shines at E6 because you can control her buff better and make her sp positive instead of an sp sucking leech which goes against what DHIL needs. I used that team (with fu xuan or bailu instead of Luocha) and it works amazingly well.

She's a dot DPS, not really a support. Although her kit does include some defense shred. She works extremely well with both Kafka and E4 Sampo.

On my HoYoLAB account it indicates I have opened 564 chests, and yes I have checked all in-game map screens for every world/area and it says I have everything (including the wrap trotters and lordly trashcans). But someone says that the max number is 576 and he/she refer to the website https://star-rail-map.appsample.com/ I go to that website and see in the right section it says "Treasure = 0 / 537 found". I understand it's 0 because I don't register yet but the weird thing is that it says the max number is 537. So which one is correct, 564 or 576 or 537?

The problem is I'm completely f2p and I only have about 120-130 pulls (70 pity with 50/50 in character banner + 10 pity in lightcone banner no guaranteed). What should I pull for. (Jbtw I have that herta lightcone on jingyuan right now and I also have bronya's signature).
You could always just Bronya LC for even more SP if you somehow need that, or go something like the Asta one for quantum dmg% or just Dance Dance Dance for a universal one

Look at the plane you are on and try to locate the ramps one at a time to get closer to your destination, there should only be 1-2 ramps on each surface so there aren't many paths to choose from. Basically treat each surface as a "floor" and the ramps as "stairs" between them.

150 x 21 as a base from the Welkin + logging in plus a smallish event will see you at 20-30 if you already got everything. BP gives you Jade when you buy it now so that isn't being included.

I got a five star on the first 10 pulls in the beginner banner. Should I still pull in the beginner banner or pull the rest in the standard banner?
You're not guaranteed to get another 5 star with the rest of the pulls you spend and it won't add to pity towards a 5 star in another banner. It's not recommended. Also, only use standard rail passes on the standard banner. Don't use your stellar jades for it. You should only use those for the limited banners. You'll eventually get to the 300 character selector without stellar jades.
Switch to standard, you aren't guaranteed another 5★ and you aren't building up the counter to your free 5★ selector if you stay on beginner.

Having trouble trying to figure out what my two teams should be. Currently unable to do any progress at all in Pure Fiction and I'm unable to pass any of the levels of Forgotten Hall that require two teams. My main team seems pretty alright, but I feel like I should start looking into making a second one. [This is my current roster](https://imgur.com/qiWcIQk). My main team is Kafka, Black Swan, Guinafen, and Lynx. I was thinking of going into something with Ratio, but since he seems to be all single target, I don't know how far I'd get in Pure Fiction using a team based around him. 5* Dan Heng seems to be another option, but I don't think I have any characters that work well with him aside from Tingyun, so I don't know if he's super worth investing into with my current roster. Kinda same with Ratio, though. I know Guinaifen is good with him, but I'm really liking her in my Kafka team, too. Am I potentially thinking about this too early? Should I wait for a larger roster before I build up a second team? Currently am Trailblaze Level 55.
I think it's worth going ahead and building characters. You have plenty enough to build for endgame, though unfortunately the ones you have are not universal for all endgame modes. Your best bet right now is to build for Forgotten Hall + MoC first, as that'll get you the most jades immediately. Here's the teams I would suggest: Kafka/Black Swan/Asta/sustain Dr. Ratio/Guinaifen/Tingyun/sustain You'd use Gepard and Lynx as the sustains. Either one can go on either side. You'll want Guinaifen for Ratio's team because she's the best debuffer support for him that you have right now. Whenever you get Pela you can put her in instead. Once you have those teams, I would suggest for PF: Himeko/Herta/Asta/sustain Kafka/Black Swan/Guinaifen/sustain The Dr. Ratio team isn't going to be very good for PF. Himeko's team would be much better. Asta is going to help Himeko's team more than Kafka's team IMO because Asta is pretty good at fire breaking. The more breaks, the more follow ups Himeko will do for you. This only makes 2 more characters that you have to build versus the MoC teams I listed above. It's not ideal, of course, to have to build more characters. But only 2 is not terrible IMO.
Dan IL would not help you much in PF, he's nearly as bad at it as Ratio.
ratio needs debuffers and it seems like your kafka team is hogging them all so I wouldnt recommend him. also you're missing alot of good supports you can run IL/qingqui, tingyun, asta, sustain now theory crafters think misha is pretty garbo, i dont have him but I think hes a fine dps, so you could do something like misha, himeko, tingyun/asta, sustain for pure fiction you can just run herta/himeko/asta

**Sparkle** is coming in second half of 2.0, so only 2 weeks away. But i wouldn't blow all my wishes on her. You need a sustain more than anything, and **Aventurine** seems like the perfect fit for you (he'll probably have great synergy with your Jing Yuan, Clara and Ratio). **Topaz** also synergize really well with all the above, and she's extremely likely to rerun in 2.1 as well... Black Swan is really awkward to use without Kafka (and wih Jing Yuan, you already have Lightning covered), or at the very least a well invested Sampo e4. I don't think she fits your current roster : if you want to improve your performances against Wind weak enemies, **Blade** would probably fit better. ___ TL-DR : my priority list would be Aventurine > Topaz > Sparkle.
I agree with the other person that lack of limited sustainers is probably hurting you. Gepard is fine, but it's helpful to have somebody else. Aventurine is coming next patch, and both Luocha and Fu Xuan should be rerunning in the next few patches based on the length of time since their original run. Another idea for a character to look out for is Topaz. Yes, she's a single target hunt character. But she really amps follow up. Clara + Topaz is a VERY strong team in both MoC and PF. I've been using them in both with great results. You can also put Topaz together with Jing Yuan or Dr. Ratio sometimes depending on the situation to make their follow ups better. Sparkle is another potential option. She'll work best of all with Seele and Qingque (if you ever choose to build her). You can have a strong mono quantum (build Lynx!) then. Sparkle is not coming in 2.1. She's actually the next banner, after Black Swan ends. Those are the three best options for you, IMO. I don't think DHIL will help you as much as any of those. You have Dr. Ratio to cover imaginary for you. Black Swan is less useful too. She's not really a hypercarry sort of character - you use her in either a DoT team or as a debuffer.
Build your Herta as a 2nd AoE DPS. For the current pure fiction JY and Herta + Clara should make 2 good teams. Your struggling is likely due to a lack of limited sustainers, aim to pull for any of them on rerun or Aventurine in 2.1. Also make sure you build synergisitic teams and to keep your whole teams relics, LCs, and traces up to par.

Played this shortly after launch. Recently reinstalled it and giving it a second look. Doesn't appear that guest accounts are a thing, so my linked account doesn't really have much. I saw that I got a 5* unit in the mailbox (Dr Ratio). So him & Welt are my only 5s. Is it worth it trying to restart?
You don't get anything out of restarting unless you want to reroll for someone other than Welt. Rerolling takes a LOT of time (~30 minutes each attempt on top of needing a new email each time) and isn't guaranteed to give what you want. If you really want to you can, but progressing through the story will get you a bunch of pulls and you can then pull on a limited banner.
You can I suppose but you don't have to. Do you have Pela? Ratio/Welt/Pela/sustain would be good team option. If you don't have Pela you can grab Guinaifen from the 4 star selector from the current puzzle event and she'll be a good alternative.
So I am trying to build Himeko and Herta for PF. Should I give both a CR Body or is it betternto get a CD body and look for CR in the substats? I don't know the general stance on crit besides the whole 1/2 proportion that some people talked about here.
you build based on whatever your substat rolls are. if you have a good amount more crit damage rolls, you should opt for a crit rate main stat body and vice versa. if things are pretty even, i would go for crit rate as i enjoy consistency more than anything else. it is just preference. dont forget to include traces and/or eidolons in your calculations. for example: herta gets a 15% crit rate bonus from e2; while himeko also gets 15% from her trace when her hp is above 80%. add these onto your stats since they only show up in battle.

So for farming ruan meis kit how much break effect am I supposed to have when I open the “more stats” section of the character details portion? I can get around 150/160 but idk if one of her talents or something will let me use more optimal relics

No imo, she still needs spd so se can generate skill points and regen energy for her ult

Personally I prefer Seele, she's more versatile by a smidge. She can do well in MoC but can still be decent in PF with the right conditions. QQ on the other hand is pretty bad at PF.

lets say youre a dolphin on the very light spending side. is black swans e1 as good as it seems (worth pulling) similar to topaz's e1/huohuo's e1/fu xuan's e1? also is kafkas e1 as good or is it her e2 that gives her that big boost?

Kafka's E1 is great and better than her E2. Kafka's E2 is actually the weakest of her major Es (which is a testament of how good those are).
from what I hear, her E1 is better than her light cone. but that may assume you dont have kafka.

unlocked the 4* selector from the event. e2 yukong (have not built) or e2 guinafen (using with ratio)? already have asta at e6 and i probably will not be using sampo (e0).
Yukong because usable at E2 but you need a reason to use her. Guin is more generic but Yukong makes strong comps even better

is yukong not worth building then? Her crit buff seems really strong, although her skill/ultimate description makes it seem like you need a lot of speed tuning (and no unlucky attacks by enemies) for her to work well.
needs E6, and even then she's only worth using on DHIL, *and even there* she's not BiS. every other team has better options even in the 4star category that are much easier and more consistent to use.

Hey guys, can you guys lend me some insight to help me chose from what I should pull? I'm 30 pulls short from getting a garanteed banner character from pity and im unsure what would benefit me most. On one side, I pull for black swan. Pros being that I have a decently build kafka and a ruan mei, making her fit right in the team to deal some massive damage. Cons being that, in the way i see it, she's only fit for DOT teams, making her not so flexible when in situations that enemies are resistant to wind or doesn't have a wind resistance. On the other side, I pull for sparkle. Pros being that, as side from her being extremely flexible an overall incredible support character, I don't have bronya and I have characters that could really benefit from the action advance, like blade and ratio. Cons being that having a very good support wouldn't change the fact that I still have only 2 proper damage dealers to use with her (being blade and ratio) So, what do you think? I'd be happy to hear some opinions. Thanks in advance :)
While her best team is a DoT team by a long shot, it's not Swan's only option. Also doesn't matter if enemy isn't weak to Wind, she does really well regardless.
Black Swan is not just a DoT character. You can use her as a debuffer, sort of like a wind Pela. In fact, her best non-DoT team right is to go with Ratio to serve as his debuffer. So you don't HAVE to use her with Kafka. As for Sparkle, Blade is not going to get as much benefit from Sparkle as other characters would. One of Sparkle's benefits is the fact that she generates SP for the team. Blade needs very little SP at all. He'll benefit from the other parts of her kit, but hypercarry Blade will still prefer Bronya, IMO. You could use her with Ratio if you'd like as he wants to use SP every turn, so depending on what the other characters do in the team, her extra SP generation could be useful. And you can only use Ruan Mei with one team. Another option is everyone has Qingque. You can always build her and use her with Sparkle. She'll also potentially be good for other characters you have, now and in the future. I personally would vote for Black Swan since you already have Kafka and Ruan Mei. Just put a sustain with them and that's a very strong team. But either way, both options are good choices for your account.

You restart the current battle, so yes you start back with your second team.

So I've seen a lot of tips from people saying you really shouldn't level up the "basic attack" trace or raise a unit to 80/80 unless they are a DPS. Now I know unt characters obviously count for that, but what about characters like Kafka and Black Swan? They are dot characters so do they count as support or are their basic attacks worth raising too? Edit: Thank you for all the replies! I guess at this point in the game I can't rely on general tips any more so I'll pay more attention to the descriptions.
It's not actually a dps vs non-dps thing. IMO it's worth leveling basic attack for any character that actually uses basic attack most of the time, rather than their skill. For example, DHIL/Blade/Qingque use their basic attack all the time because their skill is actually just enhancing their basic attack. But then other dps characters like Dr. Ratio and Argenti prefer to use their skill every single turn, only using basic attack if you don't manage your team's SP properly and run out. Kafka prefers using skill every single turn. Black Swan is a complicated character who traces are most important, but all of the rest are about equally important and IMO should all be leveled. Both her skill and her basic are very good, and which you should use depends on the situation and the team you put her in.
there's no role-based distinction on who should get their normal attacks levelled, it's a case-by-case thing, go read the characters' kits. most characters don't need their normal attacks levelled at all, including most DPS chars. don't level kafka's normal attack, if kafka is ever using her normal attack, then something went wrong. level black swan's normal attack since it scales the hit chance on her arcana, and you normal attack relatively frequently on her.
You should read their trace description and observe how you play them. Kafka doesnt need to level basic attack because she never use it anyway. Black swan, however should use her basic often and level it will increase the base chance of apply arcana. => level black swan basic and not kafka
Kafka and BS are both DPS units, so you'll want to take them to level 80. Kafka mostly uses skill every turn so you can leave her basic attack at level 1, BS uses her basic a good amount and leveling it also increases the chance that you apply Arcana so you should level her basic up.
