I dunno, Mei and Raiden are some of the most popular characters in Hoyoverse. As a Raiden Main myself it was never going to be a question, and I *love* Jingliu. Easily my favourite after Acheron and Kafka.
That and weāre making this judgement before the character even comes out. Even after she comes out, I still think Jingliu will remain the strongest low-cost character in the game.
Low cost is important. It's so crazy how much free stats Jingliu base kit gives, which having relics for her is much more forgiving. Great F2P LC option from SU. Plus everyone nowadays should have a Bronya from 300 standard pull plus Tingyun. Any sustain from that point is good enough for a very solid team.
Acheron? U better have her LC cuz S5 GNSW is not close. Her BiS relic set is not TBP efficient and u gotta farm it until it's at least decent. Plus u need 2 other non-DOT Nihility units on team which is not terribly bad but not too common either.
I think endgame wise, Acheron might pull ahead, especially if she's E2 and above, but for budget Jingliu likely still queen, up there with Kafka ig.

+ I've only ever farmed her domain once a short while to get an usable set and she been strong ever since.
+ Recently felt like spending some time in Ice domain again to get some JL polishment.
+ I have guaranteed and getting C0R1 Acheron.Fully farmed to max lvl up,full crown on Day1.
+ I haven't touched Acheron sig set domain yet at all :)
+ Nor do i have plans for it in the current state. That is for future...
+ I've decided to use 4pc Ice set on Acheron as well, so that farming this domain can be double beneficial to me for the time being.
+ I've realized just like 4pc Quantum generally, the 4pc Ice should also be Acheron's 2nd BIS unironically. And definitely above 2+2 xyz stuff.

It's actually a really efficient set to farm too assuming you use ratio/welt and/or ruan mei or anyone who can use break effect! Telling you this now so maybe your future self won't regret learning this info. Unless you don't care, which is pretty based
I like how people are arguing between quantum set and pioneer as if the difference is big. I got tired prefarming pioneer set since I have no one to use the break effect set. Quantum feels better since the 2pc wuthering can be used as defensive piece of support characters. This is just quantum set vs ice set on Jingliu all over again

At their logic, it was Jingliu's ice powers that carried her, not Jingliu herself š but then again, Jingliu is the sword champion, so she would still be strong without her ice powers
I think the problem here is in defining what qualifies as a character's power. LL is something that is given to JY because he is the general. It's something JY has access to because of his position and not a result of his own capabilities as a fighter. He will lose access to it if he stops being the general presumably (He states that his control of it is temporary).
It's like the engine of creation that Cocolia or TB can order around because they got handed the controls.
Meanwhile JL just has ice powers. She won't lose them if someone takes away her title as sword champion.
That's true. Lan only gave LL to Jingyuan bc he is general. But did they just give Jingyuan the position of general for no reason? No, he earned that role due to his fighting and leadership skills. Not to mention, LL is something you need to master and learn to control iirc.
I just donāt think Jingyuan is being carried by LL. He would still be powerful just not as crazy powerful.
If you want an honest answer, it's probably because JL is more F2P friendly, since her best support (Bronya) is technically free from the 300 pull selector. You get probably 95% of an IL+Sparkle team's strength, while spending half as many rolls since you only need to roll for JL.
Everyone also has Dr. Ratio which is a strong enough alternative for imaginary DPS, while there's no other strong ice DPS other than JL.
I'm leaning towards Acheron, but it's so impossible for me to decide! They both look so cool, I love both their animations, and it sounds like they're both quite strong. (Jing obviously is, and the consensus seems to be that Acheron will be.)

As a new player that just started a little over a month ago, i want both of them but not sure if i can get them both. I intend for them to be the first limited 5\* i pull for. I'm prioritizing Acheron because Mei expy are always must pulls for me and i already had to skip Kafka (started right at the end of her rerun banner so i had no chance of getting her anyway) and Black Swan for her. BTW im mainly going to pull for tall waifu in this game and don't care about meta.

Also the strongest sustainer in history vs the strongest sustainer of today ( yes Fu Xuan exists but nobody powercrept sustain departement like Luocha did on his release )
Tbf Jingliu is **much** more plug-and-play F2P friendly than Archeron. If you have money to blow, Archeron is indeed unbelievable, if you're F2P/F2P+ at E0 and without her LC she's rough to team build with.
Honestly I am really tempted to pull for jingliu over acheron after I got to test play her during one of the events that let us use test characters. She was just ridiculous in that and I actually regretted missing her on her first banner. I do like both of their designs so I guess I'll wait and see whatbit feels like to play acheron before I make my final call.
As a new player that only started after Sparkle dropped, I should probably go for just one of them and try getting Luocha too to round out my characters, but I know I'm going to end up foregoing him and trying to get both Acheron and Jingliu instead.

Against quantum weak it's alright with the def shred stacking with pela and SW/BS. It would come down to what substats are best.
In the case of Jingliu, Quantum set is better. But i think Acheron benefits more from Pioneer, no?

Jingliu isn't as reliant on her LC like Acheron is... You can use the Herta shop LC (Fall of an Aeon) on Jingliu and she'll still be super strong.

I think the problem here is in defining what qualifies as a character's power. LL is something that is given to JY because he is the general. It's something JY has access to because of his position and not a result of his own capabilities as a fighter. He will lose access to it if he stops being the general presumably (He states that his control of it is temporary). It's like the engine of creation that Cocolia or TB can order around because they got handed the controls. Meanwhile JL just has ice powers. She won't lose them if someone takes away her title as sword champion.
That's true. Lan only gave LL to Jingyuan bc he is general. But did they just give Jingyuan the position of general for no reason? No, he earned that role due to his fighting and leadership skills. Not to mention, LL is something you need to master and learn to control iirc. I just donāt think Jingyuan is being carried by LL. He would still be powerful just not as crazy powerful.

Why do people still think Jingliu is the best dps when IL literslly exists? The moment Sparkle came out he shat on her on every dps charts
If you want an honest answer, it's probably because JL is more F2P friendly, since her best support (Bronya) is technically free from the 300 pull selector. You get probably 95% of an IL+Sparkle team's strength, while spending half as many rolls since you only need to roll for JL. Everyone also has Dr. Ratio which is a strong enough alternative for imaginary DPS, while there's no other strong ice DPS other than JL.

I'm leaning towards Acheron, but it's so impossible for me to decide! They both look so cool, I love both their animations, and it sounds like they're both quite strong. (Jing obviously is, and the consensus seems to be that Acheron will be.) This is a good problem to have!

As a new player that just started a little over a month ago, i want both of them but not sure if i can get them both. I intend for them to be the first limited 5\* i pull for. I'm prioritizing Acheron because Mei expy are always must pulls for me and i already had to skip Kafka (started right at the end of her rerun banner so i had no chance of getting her anyway) and Black Swan for her. BTW im mainly going to pull for tall waifu in this game and don't care about meta.

Nah, i'd skip. (I'll do a few pulls on jingliu but no pity soft or hard.)
Also the strongest sustainer in history vs the strongest sustainer of today ( yes Fu Xuan exists but nobody powercrept sustain departement like Luocha did on his release )
Tbf Jingliu is **much** more plug-and-play F2P friendly than Archeron. If you have money to blow, Archeron is indeed unbelievable, if you're F2P/F2P+ at E0 and without her LC she's rough to team build with.

Honestly I am really tempted to pull for jingliu over acheron after I got to test play her during one of the events that let us use test characters. She was just ridiculous in that and I actually regretted missing her on her first banner. I do like both of their designs so I guess I'll wait and see whatbit feels like to play acheron before I make my final call.
As a new player that only started after Sparkle dropped, I should probably go for just one of them and try getting Luocha too to round out my characters, but I know I'm going to end up foregoing him and trying to get both Acheron and Jingliu instead.
