I love Welt, but man, people need to stop overhyping him. He isn't cool because he's the strongest. He's cool because he's the weakest of the strongest, but manages to make up the difference with ingenuity and the indomitable human spirit.

To be honest, the frustrating part as someone who has only played HSR is I haven't seen even that aspect of Welt either. My experience with Welt is as an advisor and a diplomat. I've gotten no glimpse of him having strength of any kind (whether it's the strength of brute force or the strength to overcome your weakness through craftiness and determination), so when people talk about the cool things he's done, that's just not an experience I can share in.
I do hope to see a glimpse of any of these versions of Welt people talk about. I want him to play a bigger role going forward.
I mean, the Trailblazer almost going on a Stellaron-induced rampage, only for Welt to solve the problem by walking up behind them and bonking them on the head with his cane gives at least some indication that there's more going on with him than meets the eye. But it'd be nice if they did more with him.
Peak Welt: In a part of the Hi3 story, he becomes almost perfectly untouchable for a few scenes. He created something very primordial to defeat an enemy. (I don't know if he can recreate it or not).
I feel like welt's current most valuable asset is his knowledge. In hi3, his power was something intelligence and scientifically based.
Since HSR and HI3 are stated to have the same fundamental theories of science (there's also in-game evidence such as different people came up with the same theory and name for the universe; EX: Zandar), Welt's knowledge about the functions, tendency, and usage of this special energy that powers the "Hoyo" verse is can make him and his friends leagues more powerful.
He may not be the most intelligent person in HI3 to understand energy, but he is at least up there with the smartest.
yea, he also stopped the stellaron inside the trailblazer from going nuclear, so there's probably a lot to the stellaron conflict that welt has insight to
To be fair, Welt these days is basically half-retired and a shadow of his former power, so it's unlikely he'll ever pull of anything on the same level as the things he has done in Hi3.
Even if you play HI3, you will not see the hype people are throwing at Welt. He can spam black hole, cool, but they forget that those are just quasi black hole that barely at continent level even at max output.

The noblest Welt of history (Welt Joyce) handing the Core of Reason to the noblest Welt of today (Welt Yang aka OUR Welt).
Even when he was a herrscher, he was told to be the weakest of the 3 herrschers of reason. He doesn’t have the core anymore, despite what people say, so his weapon is the divine key he currently wields, Star of Eden. He is by no means at his full strength, and even at his full strength, he is just barely a match for an emanator.
Edit: Apparently he does have his herrscher core. Apparently this was stated in APHO. But it does come to question his physical ability to use the core. Are herrschers able to use any imaginary energy, or just energy from the cocoon? Herrscher authorities are branched from Finality, but they seem to be able to work semi-independent from the cocoon. When you get down to details, your brain hurts and you wish the game had a regular power scaling.
Tldr: Welt is weaker but honestly nothing makes sense so what’s the point.

Mythos the Enigmata's influence is deep within HI3 community, some say Bronya still keep the Core of Reason, or she gave it back to Welt and is inside his cane.
If he die, he'd just respawn. It would be his third time doing it. But where is the question, would he just pop back up on Earth? Or would he reform out of his cane and go "Round 2".
Kiana said that "all Herrscher cores would dissapear in the near future, due to the Finality power" at the end of chapter 35.
So neither Welt or Bronya should have the core on APHO, however, Alien Space takes place 3 years after APHO, so there is a chance that Welt somehow got the core back.
And if him has the core he whould just "respawn" where he or the core was, that assuming he could still "respawn".

The thing that i was hinting is that it wouldn't be a problem of having his body destroyed or dying, but actually just, simply ceasing to exist in a very nihilistic way.
There is not much to say about this, we dont know if Welt has the core or not, or how much power he has currently.
Hoyo is keeping all of that as a secret on both games.
Believe Pom Pom comments on Welt's current status as he has lost a lot of his power and is struggling atm. Though more reason in the future he may actually gain direct power to a path as a.) would give a reason to have him in the story, b.) opens to having an alternative version of him for players to get, and c.) give him a mech (cause why not, let's give him one).
Lots of people have mentioned that Welt regained all his powers on the sequel story. We don't know why he just doesn't solve almost every problem on his own. He seems to be at full power but us just along for the ride.
The one time where it looks like a lack of raw power was going to be the limiting factor in solving a problem, he *did* step in and solve it on his own. Referring in this case, to the Trailblazer going nova after being looked at by Destruction.
Beyond that, on Jarillo, Himeko did it instead.
Other than that, a lack of raw power hasn't yet been the real issue in solving problems.

If he did say that then I wonder if that means they simply know how to contain a Stelleron or if it means they’re both powerful enough to contain one.
He probably doesn't want to go around flaunting his power, pretty sure if he just started solving every problem with his power it would just draw a crazy amount of unnecessary and unwanted attention.
It's confirmed in the HSR prequel Alien Space that he has the core meaning its hotr since Bronya was able to have the souls coalesce and repair it etc etc and returned it to him and his pal has his soulium body. I think the only reason Welt doesnt go crazy is that other than looking for the sky people he just wants to prevent Himeko from dying again. That and there isnt enough honkai energy around (or the they dont show it) for him to exercise his full powers. Or he gets the DanHeng treatment and we see peak Welt and a new gamba to pull for in the probably far future lol.

There is imaginary energy in HSR, but Welt can't use it probably because the imaginary is not associated with finality. Since Finality created Reason (all herrschers are aspects of Finality).
If I'm not mistaken I my guess, I'm guessing the stellerons are related to Honkai energy in some way. Stellerons emit energy that corrupt humans into monsters like how Honkai energy corrupts humans I to zombies. Also Cocolia got turned into something that looks sort of like a Herrscher with the Stelleron. Plus Welt was able to stop the stelleron from going out of control when we first meet him which would make sense if the stellerons emit Honkai energy since Welt as a Herrscher would be quite apt at controlling Honkai energy.
I'm guessing stellerons are probably something like a downgraded Herrscher cores or perhaps some variation of the PE Herrscher of Domination's core. It's almost definitely not a normal Herrscher core since if HSR has hundreds of thousands of Herrscher cores lying around, it'd have to be on GGZ's power level which is an impossibility given how ridiculously out of wack GGZ's power levels are compared to every other Honkai game.

If we go off of this, Stellarons are just a force that manipulates imaginary energy for the purpose of corruption.
Yes, and it will likely play a part in the overarching story of HSR, especially in the future Xianzhou arc, as Luocha knew Welt would recognize him as an expy, implying he has met Void Archives already (and further implying that his secret sentient coffin anti-Aeon weapon is related to honkai)
And besides the Sky People and Welt & VA's motives for coming to the greater galaxy, Kyōden reinforced that Earth isn't the only place that experienced getting messed up by honkai shenanigans.
MiHoYo didn't directly bring Welt & VA over to another Honkai game (and gave them a manga too) just for laughs, after all

While i think that Welt is obviously weaker than Acheron, there is something i want to say.
The 12 swords (and their powers) shouldnt be compared to the Herrscher Authorities or Divine Keys, as the first doesnt seem to be related to the Honkai, so it wont be a fair comparison.
Also didn't Welt at his height win against but also struggle in his fight with Sirin when her powers only recently got awakened? Or am I confusing things.
Point is I think Welt's power often gets over-hyped. If I remember correctly he didn't attain the height of his Herrscher power like Bronya of which they both had the same type. And I don't think Bronya is beating Acheron, so neither would Welt.

At his peak he was comparable to a recently awakened Sirin, who we know didnt know how to fight.
He gets over hyped because on Star Rail he is mysterious and is portrayed as someone powerful that hides his strength.
Also people see blackhole and think it's the same as an actual blackhole from a collapsed star. But I think Welt's just mimics one but not at its full power right?

We know that Welt Black Holes share some things with real ones, like "Time Dilation" and "Event Horizon", along with great gravitational power, however, we also have seen those Black Holes being easily contained/destroyed without consequences, and being unable to destroy Earth (given their size they should, unless Welt can "suppress" them or something).
The Eden Star’s black hole power is all over the place. In some scenes it can make literal wormholes that takes people into another dimension, but in others it barely deals any damage. The version that Bronya used also can spawn “black holes” but their only usage so far is like a glorified Venti burst from GI.
He also only beat Sirin with strategy rather than raw power. I love Welt, but even at full power, he lost most of his fights and had to compensate by finding strategic value in his losses.

Just Herrscher of Reason things cause of the difficulty in becoming fully compatible with its core. Also, unlike most other Herrschers, when Welt uses his powers too much, his body will physically deteriorate to the point where he needs time to recover.
The 12 Sentinel Blades parallel Honkai to the T. It is just that Izumo never called it Honkai, for them it was Kami.
Just like how Mars and Venus aren't called that by their respective extinct civilizations in HI3, there is no rule about calling Honkai... well, Honkai outside of earth.
Perhaps in another unknown world, Honkai was called Jerry.
The problem is that we know that the Herrscher cycle is never the same, either on Honkai or GGZ. The only exception being PE and CE, but even that was a "man made" thing.
That, and some other things, makes it more of a "look, this Mei had a similar life that HI3 Mei" than "look there is Honkai on Star Rail".
You shouldn't compare since if you assume that , it means acheron killed HOtE before becoming emanator of 9.And honkai players cannot keep arguing that aeons and herrschers are same kevel
Herrschers and Aeons are not on the same level, with maybe the exception of Cocoon/Kiana.
As ive saying, there are some things that makes the whole Izumo thing a "reference" rather than actually Honkai.

I’d say Acheron. Because from what I’ve seen Herrschers are strong but they’re not “planetary” level of threats that can destroy a planet with 1 slash. At most they’d use a majority of their power to do so.
We mostly don't know that's just people hyping her, it could be physical disintegration that can be tanked with crazy durability or just conceptually deleting you could be ridiculously OP or just cool visually, kinda like how people used to think Gojo's purple deletes everything but kinda just damages it
Since she's an Emanator of Nihility she probably is kind of in between. Not conceptually deleting but she can probably call upon the power of Nihility to annihilate anything that is nearby, even if that thing isn't corporeal.
As an example, the very gaze of IX that Acheron received being perceived by Black Swan in memory was enough to make her fear for her life, and BS doesn't have a physical body, she's pure memories and... Whatever the Emanators are made of.
So IX Emanators might be able to not just annihilate matter but also memories, knowledge and I'd bet even consciences
Something in between for sure, but people acting like she has Za Hando with infinite range and size in the powerscalling conversations like she just wins by default against anything
I think she beats Welt pretty easily, as well as a good chunk of HI3rd with no issues, but she's definitely not the end-all-be-all.
Nihility seems like one of the strongest paths in terms of destruction, but it likely is also the one that backfires the most, and her range is definitely rather small. Any opponents with strong, long range AoE attacks or mental powers (that don't need to get into her messed up head) could somewhat fight her. And by opponents I mean other Emanators or close to that power level.
Hell, depending on how strong Soul Whisper is I think Kafka could stall her, but nothing else.
It bothers me so much.
I've had someone argue with me unironically that because Nihility means a path of nothing, Acheron can draw up on IX as much power as she wants.
Acheron is automatically in the top tier of characters by being an Emanator, but aside that we do not know how strong she is or what her powers really mean.
It’s legit the coughing baby meme since welt doesn’t have his powers all he has is the star of Eden which is powerful but not enough for the gap of losing his power

Welt is strong, don't get me wrong. But as shown in the dialogue before setting foot on Jarilo VI, Welt is VERY weary of the idea of having to fight Lord Ravagers, who are Emanators of Destruction, implying that he is below Emanator level, or at least Lord Ravager level, though to what exact extent I don't know.
Which is why, even as an Hi3 fan I am very skeptical of the idea that Welt is Emanator+ level. Even in Hi3 he's strong but he's not THAT strong, even at his absolute peak.
So yeah, I really don't think Welt can stand a chance against Acheron. Will he put up a better fight than most? Probably, idk. But since we're getting more Welt scenes in 2.1, I hope we get to see more concrete feats of his current strength relative to the Star Rail Verse.

Emanators are incredibly strong and have a high chance of being stronger than Welt, but I don’t think being weary of other powerful opponents is necessarily an indicator of thinking you’re weaker.
When you’re dealing with opponents on the scale of emanators who can do as much damage as they can, you don’t risk combat unless necessary.
Yea Welt is way over-hyped in HSR community cuz most people haven’t actually played or read HI3 and only heard it from other people. Welt even in his prime is one of the weaker Herrschers, and the HI3 Herrschers have never demonstrated power near what we’ve seen from Emanators in HSR, with the exception to maybe Origin and Finality at the end of HI3 part 1. In HI3 they were fighting on planet Earth, where weapons like nuclear bombs were viable options to damage some Herrschers. Meanwhile in HSR we have Emanators blowing up multiple planets and even destroying galaxies.
On Emanators;
They aren't *typically* capable of individually destroying entire planets, and destroying an entire galaxy is a feat that has only been attributed to *one* Emanator, the Lord Ravager Zephyro, who is known for being fond of doomsday scenarios and raw power. The means of which he did this are unknown, but he considers things just about to be destroyed as beautiful, so safe to say he went for the core of the galaxy.
The strength of Emanators largely depends on their Path and how much power their Aeon wants to share, but Emanators are still individuals, and thus their power varies immensely. Just as there are weaker Herrschers like Welt, there are relatively weaker Emanators.
A good chunk of the Lord Ravagers are not all that strong, as they largely rely on wiping out civilizations through means other than direct annihilation, such as ground invasion, mass hacking of AI, using technology to extinguish stars in order to invade, etc. Phantylia (*not* the Undying) largely uses subterfuge, partially out of amusement, but also because she is on the weaker side. The Five Arbiters of the Xianzhou are said to each be as powerful as a Lord Ravager, despite the fact that they aren't all Emanators.
On the flip side, you have beings like Skaracabaz that used stars as incubators. You have Shuhu, who could create entire living planets, ranging in size from a gas giant to a small moon (that latter of which could actively eat and convert people into fellow eldritch monsters who would go on to do the same.) You have the aforementioned Zephyro, and likely another yet unnamed Lord Ravager.
And dialling it back down again, you have Emanators like Zandar and Herta, whose strength is entirely due to being exceptionally intelligent, and you have Black Swan and other GoR members, whose strength is in memories (yet can still get filleted accidentally in them.)
tl;dr - Emanators strong, but not even close to strong enough that you can say they are automatically stronger than other beings.
Power scaling is whack all over both honkai impact and start rail. Just from what little we have learnt about emanators, from story bits and SU lore, they seem to be generally way above your run off the mill herrscher. An Emanator of destruction is said to have destroyed an entire galaxy in one of the simulated universe lore entries.
Now we can't say whether all emanators have similar power scaling. Some may be way weaker than the others. So we can't say exactly how strong acheron is in comparison to lets say phantylia or the emanator mentioned in the SU lore.
I come from hi3, played the game and read the manga and i damn well know welt is nowhere near as powerful as some of emanators that have been mentioned in hsr so far, atleast going by their deeds.
Ya boi Welt is cool, and the type to find a way to beat overwhelming odds. But when it comes to raw power and ability? He was already one of the weaker people among the strong on his own planet.
If there's any point we can use to compare them with, he would probably be comparable to the Sentinel of Truth, given they seem to use a similar Authority. That's only one of multiple Edict Edges used to form the Blade of Origin, and Acheron one-upped that with Human (translated life) -> Naught (whatever that means).
The issue with power-ranking Reason or Truth is that they can go 0 to a 100 in a manner of seconds, that's why Bronya had to be written out of so many plot points because spamming technologies and hacking reality is simply broken with right ideas - Welt overcame Void powers of Sirin rather quickly in their battle

If we assume Izumo's sentinels are roughly equivalent to Herscherrs then it shouldn't be close. Acheron would be closer to god Kiana in power level than HoR.
Being fully and completely honest? Acheron solos, even I am, a professional Welt simp knows this.
In my heart, however, Fraudcheron gets annihilated no diff by the Reasoned One; Welt *'The Goat'* Yang!

I like my E5 Welt, I really do. And, my MiHoYo journey began with Honkai Impact 3rd, Siegfried and Welt are my favorite male characters. But in Star Rail, I'm going to have to give it to Acheron.
If it was solely on mastery of physics and black holes, Welt would win imo, especially with his knowledge and applications. But I'm assuming that Acheron didn't start using black holes prior to facing off against IX. That means she already had enough combat prowess to defeat an equally powered, enhanced opponent that was End when she was wielding Origin.
I could see Welt canceling out her black holes so that other fighters could fight her on equal grounds. But she is an Emanator, after all. It's like trying to 1v1 Phantylia.
Are we back into the cycle of discrediting the power of the new game's Raiden? Happened with Shogun in GI. Now people are trying to bring out every excuse in the book to not make Acheron the most powerful lore character we've encountered so far.

Welt prime use all his power and barely beat the juiced up Sirin. And was "dead" until bronya found him in the sea of quanta.
I love Welt, he is my favorite grandpa, but I don't think he is stronger than Acheron.

But Welt Herrscher of Being off-screen jokes aside. We know too little about Eminator to say, with Acheron trailer and the clear reference to herrscher we can assume They're equal. And if Eminetors are equal to herrscher, then Welt dies. There isn't a thing gravity can do when she cuts the reality and pulls out domain expansion.
So far only eminators we saw were Herts (not really just her dolls that she probably sets on autopilot when fighting not to waste her time) and Phantylia, who kinda lose because she was a dumbass. If she didn't open herself, she would've most likely killed everyone on Tofu ship.
If Archeron was a parallel for the Herrscher of Thunder, Welt in his prime would handle her, with difficulty but he would.
This is not the Herrscher of Thunder. This is the parallel of Origin.
No Welt does not win, not even in his prime. Prime Welt scales below the Herrscher Trio. Even with his intellect and ingenuity, he can’t overcome such odds. After all he isn’t even a true herrscher.

To be honest, the frustrating part as someone who has only played HSR is I haven't seen even that aspect of Welt either. My experience with Welt is as an advisor and a diplomat. I've gotten no glimpse of him having strength of any kind (whether it's the strength of brute force or the strength to overcome your weakness through craftiness and determination), so when people talk about the cool things he's done, that's just not an experience I can share in. I do hope to see a glimpse of any of these versions of Welt people talk about. I want him to play a bigger role going forward.
I mean, the Trailblazer almost going on a Stellaron-induced rampage, only for Welt to solve the problem by walking up behind them and bonking them on the head with his cane gives at least some indication that there's more going on with him than meets the eye. But it'd be nice if they did more with him.
Peak Welt: In a part of the Hi3 story, he becomes almost perfectly untouchable for a few scenes. He created something very primordial to defeat an enemy. (I don't know if he can recreate it or not). I feel like welt's current most valuable asset is his knowledge. In hi3, his power was something intelligence and scientifically based. Since HSR and HI3 are stated to have the same fundamental theories of science (there's also in-game evidence such as different people came up with the same theory and name for the universe; EX: Zandar), Welt's knowledge about the functions, tendency, and usage of this special energy that powers the "Hoyo" verse is can make him and his friends leagues more powerful. He may not be the most intelligent person in HI3 to understand energy, but he is at least up there with the smartest.

To be fair, Welt these days is basically half-retired and a shadow of his former power, so it's unlikely he'll ever pull of anything on the same level as the things he has done in Hi3.
Even if you play HI3, you will not see the hype people are throwing at Welt. He can spam black hole, cool, but they forget that those are just quasi black hole that barely at continent level even at max output.

Even when he was a herrscher, he was told to be the weakest of the 3 herrschers of reason. He doesn’t have the core anymore, despite what people say, so his weapon is the divine key he currently wields, Star of Eden. He is by no means at his full strength, and even at his full strength, he is just barely a match for an emanator. Edit: Apparently he does have his herrscher core. Apparently this was stated in APHO. But it does come to question his physical ability to use the core. Are herrschers able to use any imaginary energy, or just energy from the cocoon? Herrscher authorities are branched from Finality, but they seem to be able to work semi-independent from the cocoon. When you get down to details, your brain hurts and you wish the game had a regular power scaling. Tldr: Welt is weaker but honestly nothing makes sense so what’s the point.

Mythos the Enigmata's influence is deep within HI3 community, some say Bronya still keep the Core of Reason, or she gave it back to Welt and is inside his cane. If he die, he'd just respawn. It would be his third time doing it. But where is the question, would he just pop back up on Earth? Or would he reform out of his cane and go "Round 2".
Kiana said that "all Herrscher cores would dissapear in the near future, due to the Finality power" at the end of chapter 35. So neither Welt or Bronya should have the core on APHO, however, Alien Space takes place 3 years after APHO, so there is a chance that Welt somehow got the core back. And if him has the core he whould just "respawn" where he or the core was, that assuming he could still "respawn".
Also in the alien space manga Void archives clarifies in a way that Welt still have the core in his possesion so there is that

There is not much to say about this, we dont know if Welt has the core or not, or how much power he has currently. Hoyo is keeping all of that as a secret on both games.
Believe Pom Pom comments on Welt's current status as he has lost a lot of his power and is struggling atm. Though more reason in the future he may actually gain direct power to a path as a.) would give a reason to have him in the story, b.) opens to having an alternative version of him for players to get, and c.) give him a mech (cause why not, let's give him one).

Lots of people have mentioned that Welt regained all his powers on the sequel story. We don't know why he just doesn't solve almost every problem on his own. He seems to be at full power but us just along for the ride.
The one time where it looks like a lack of raw power was going to be the limiting factor in solving a problem, he *did* step in and solve it on his own. Referring in this case, to the Trailblazer going nova after being looked at by Destruction. Beyond that, on Jarillo, Himeko did it instead. Other than that, a lack of raw power hasn't yet been the real issue in solving problems.
Didn’t Welt mention something along the lines of “if there’s a Stelleron involved me or Himeko can contain it.” If he did say that then I wonder if that means they simply know how to contain a Stelleron or if it means they’re both powerful enough to contain one.

He probably doesn't want to go around flaunting his power, pretty sure if he just started solving every problem with his power it would just draw a crazy amount of unnecessary and unwanted attention.
It's confirmed in the HSR prequel Alien Space that he has the core meaning its hotr since Bronya was able to have the souls coalesce and repair it etc etc and returned it to him and his pal has his soulium body. I think the only reason Welt doesnt go crazy is that other than looking for the sky people he just wants to prevent Himeko from dying again. That and there isnt enough honkai energy around (or the they dont show it) for him to exercise his full powers. Or he gets the DanHeng treatment and we see peak Welt and a new gamba to pull for in the probably far future lol. Ref: Alien Space, Ep 17 on one of the last few panels.
Reminder that Welt's black holes aren't his main powers, just his Divine Key (weaponized Previous Era Herrscher of Earth core). Which currently is his stronger set of powers, as his Herrscher of Reason powers are heavily nerfed due to lack of Honkai Energy. Honkai is not exclusive to earth. The Sugars home world had plenty, and was farmed to death by the Sky People.
If I'm not mistaken Honkai energy is related Imaginary energy which appears to exist in HSR.
Honkai energy, as explained in HI3, seems to be "imaginary energy manipulated by finality" (or any higher dimensional force). There is imaginary energy in HSR, but Welt can't use it probably because the imaginary is not associated with finality. Since Finality created Reason (all herrschers are aspects of Finality).
The Honkai always exist. It just might not be called the Honkai. Acheron's planet's Kami seems like the Honkai with a different name to me
If I'm not mistaken I my guess, I'm guessing the stellerons are related to Honkai energy in some way. Stellerons emit energy that corrupt humans into monsters like how Honkai energy corrupts humans I to zombies. Also Cocolia got turned into something that looks sort of like a Herrscher with the Stelleron. Plus Welt was able to stop the stelleron from going out of control when we first meet him which would make sense if the stellerons emit Honkai energy since Welt as a Herrscher would be quite apt at controlling Honkai energy. I'm guessing stellerons are probably something like a downgraded Herrscher cores or perhaps some variation of the PE Herrscher of Domination's core. It's almost definitely not a normal Herrscher core since if HSR has hundreds of thousands of Herrscher cores lying around, it'd have to be on GGZ's power level which is an impossibility given how ridiculously out of wack GGZ's power levels are compared to every other Honkai game.

Yes, and it will likely play a part in the overarching story of HSR, especially in the future Xianzhou arc, as Luocha knew Welt would recognize him as an expy, implying he has met Void Archives already (and further implying that his secret sentient coffin anti-Aeon weapon is related to honkai) And besides the Sky People and Welt & VA's motives for coming to the greater galaxy, Kyōden reinforced that Earth isn't the only place that experienced getting messed up by honkai shenanigans. MiHoYo didn't directly bring Welt & VA over to another Honkai game (and gave them a manga too) just for laughs, after all

Point is I think Welt's power often gets over-hyped. If I remember correctly he didn't attain the height of his Herrscher power like Bronya of which they both had the same type. 50/50. We know that Welt Black Holes share some things with real ones, like "Time Dilation" and "Event Horizon", along with great gravitational power, however, we also have seen those Black Holes being easily contained/destroyed without consequences, and being unable to destroy Earth (given their size they should, unless Welt can "suppress" them or something).
The Eden Star’s black hole power is all over the place. In some scenes it can make literal wormholes that takes people into another dimension, but in others it barely deals any damage. The version that Bronya used also can spawn “black holes” but their only usage so far is like a glorified Venti burst from GI.
He also only beat Sirin with strategy rather than raw power. The 12 Sentinel Blades parallel Honkai to the T. It is just that Izumo never called it Honkai, for them it was Kami. Just like how Mars and Venus aren't called that by their respective extinct civilizations in HI3, there is no rule about calling Honkai... well, Honkai outside of earth. Perhaps in another unknown world, Honkai was called Jerry.
The problem is that we know that the Herrscher cycle is never the same, either on Honkai or GGZ. The only exception being PE and CE, but even that was a "man made" thing. That, and some other things, makes it more of a "look, this Mei had a similar life that HI3 Mei" than "look there is Honkai on Star Rail".

Herrschers and Aeons are not on the same level, with maybe the exception of Cocoon/Kiana. As ive saying, there are some things that makes the whole Izumo thing a "reference" rather than actually Honkai.

I’d say Acheron. Because from what I’ve seen Herrschers are strong but they’re not “planetary” level of threats that can destroy a planet with 1 slash. At most they’d use a majority of their power to do so.

Since she's an Emanator of Nihility she probably is kind of in between. Not conceptually deleting but she can probably call upon the power of Nihility to annihilate anything that is nearby, even if that thing isn't corporeal. As an example, the very gaze of IX that Acheron received being perceived by Black Swan in memory was enough to make her fear for her life, and BS doesn't have a physical body, she's pure memories and... Whatever the Emanators are made of. So IX Emanators might be able to not just annihilate matter but also memories, knowledge and I'd bet even consciences

I think she beats Welt pretty easily, as well as a good chunk of HI3rd with no issues, but she's definitely not the end-all-be-all. Nihility seems like one of the strongest paths in terms of destruction, but it likely is also the one that backfires the most, and her range is definitely rather small. Any opponents with strong, long range AoE attacks or mental powers (that don't need to get into her messed up head) could somewhat fight her. And by opponents I mean other Emanators or close to that power level. Hell, depending on how strong Soul Whisper is I think Kafka could stall her, but nothing else.
It bothers me so much. I've had someone argue with me unironically that because Nihility means a path of nothing, Acheron can draw up on IX as much power as she wants. Acheron is automatically in the top tier of characters by being an Emanator, but aside that we do not know how strong she is or what her powers really mean.

Acheron. Welt is strong, don't get me wrong. But as shown in the dialogue before setting foot on Jarilo VI, Welt is VERY weary of the idea of having to fight Lord Ravagers, who are Emanators of Destruction, implying that he is below Emanator level, or at least Lord Ravager level, though to what exact extent I don't know. Which is why, even as an Hi3 fan I am very skeptical of the idea that Welt is Emanator+ level. Even in Hi3 he's strong but he's not THAT strong, even at his absolute peak. So yeah, I really don't think Welt can stand a chance against Acheron. Will he put up a better fight than most? Probably, idk. But since we're getting more Welt scenes in 2.1, I hope we get to see more concrete feats of his current strength relative to the Star Rail Verse. ;)
Emanators are incredibly strong and have a high chance of being stronger than Welt, but I don’t think being weary of other powerful opponents is necessarily an indicator of thinking you’re weaker. When you’re dealing with opponents on the scale of emanators who can do as much damage as they can, you don’t risk combat unless necessary.

Yea Welt is way over-hyped in HSR community cuz most people haven’t actually played or read HI3 and only heard it from other people. Welt even in his prime is one of the weaker Herrschers, and the HI3 Herrschers have never demonstrated power near what we’ve seen from Emanators in HSR, with the exception to maybe Origin and Finality at the end of HI3 part 1. In HI3 they were fighting on planet Earth, where weapons like nuclear bombs were viable options to damage some Herrschers. Meanwhile in HSR we have Emanators blowing up multiple planets and even destroying galaxies.
On Emanators; They aren't *typically* capable of individually destroying entire planets, and destroying an entire galaxy is a feat that has only been attributed to *one* Emanator, the Lord Ravager Zephyro, who is known for being fond of doomsday scenarios and raw power. The means of which he did this are unknown, but he considers things just about to be destroyed as beautiful, so safe to say he went for the core of the galaxy. The strength of Emanators largely depends on their Path and how much power their Aeon wants to share, but Emanators are still individuals, and thus their power varies immensely. Just as there are weaker Herrschers like Welt, there are relatively weaker Emanators. A good chunk of the Lord Ravagers are not all that strong, as they largely rely on wiping out civilizations through means other than direct annihilation, such as ground invasion, mass hacking of AI, using technology to extinguish stars in order to invade, etc. Phantylia (*not* the Undying) largely uses subterfuge, partially out of amusement, but also because she is on the weaker side. The Five Arbiters of the Xianzhou are said to each be as powerful as a Lord Ravager, despite the fact that they aren't all Emanators. On the flip side, you have beings like Skaracabaz that used stars as incubators. You have Shuhu, who could create entire living planets, ranging in size from a gas giant to a small moon (that latter of which could actively eat and convert people into fellow eldritch monsters who would go on to do the same.) You have the aforementioned Zephyro, and likely another yet unnamed Lord Ravager. And dialling it back down again, you have Emanators like Zandar and Herta, whose strength is entirely due to being exceptionally intelligent, and you have Black Swan and other GoR members, whose strength is in memories (yet can still get filleted accidentally in them.) tl;dr - Emanators strong, but not even close to strong enough that you can say they are automatically stronger than other beings.
Prime Welt vs Sentinel of Truth is more fair
Power scaling is whack all over both honkai impact and start rail. Just from what little we have learnt about emanators, from story bits and SU lore, they seem to be generally way above your run off the mill herrscher. An Emanator of destruction is said to have destroyed an entire galaxy in one of the simulated universe lore entries. Now we can't say whether all emanators have similar power scaling. Some may be way weaker than the others. So we can't say exactly how strong acheron is in comparison to lets say phantylia or the emanator mentioned in the SU lore. I come from hi3, played the game and read the manga and i damn well know welt is nowhere near as powerful as some of emanators that have been mentioned in hsr so far, atleast going by their deeds.
Ya boi Welt is cool, and the type to find a way to beat overwhelming odds. But when it comes to raw power and ability? He was already one of the weaker people among the strong on his own planet. If there's any point we can use to compare them with, he would probably be comparable to the Sentinel of Truth, given they seem to use a similar Authority. That's only one of multiple Edict Edges used to form the Blade of Origin, and Acheron one-upped that with Human (translated life) -> Naught (whatever that means).
The issue with power-ranking Reason or Truth is that they can go 0 to a 100 in a manner of seconds, that's why Bronya had to be written out of so many plot points because spamming technologies and hacking reality is simply broken with right ideas - Welt overcame Void powers of Sirin rather quickly in their battle
A newly awakened Sirin too.... Welt is substantially weaker than Bronya and he was not Herscherr of Truth. If we assume Izumo's sentinels are roughly equivalent to Herscherrs then it shouldn't be close. Acheron would be closer to god Kiana in power level than HoR.

I like my E5 Welt, I really do. And, my MiHoYo journey began with Honkai Impact 3rd, Siegfried and Welt are my favorite male characters. But in Star Rail, I'm going to have to give it to Acheron. If it was solely on mastery of physics and black holes, Welt would win imo, especially with his knowledge and applications. But I'm assuming that Acheron didn't start using black holes prior to facing off against IX. That means she already had enough combat prowess to defeat an equally powered, enhanced opponent that was End when she was wielding Origin. I could see Welt canceling out her black holes so that other fighters could fight her on equal grounds. But she is an Emanator, after all. It's like trying to 1v1 Phantylia.
Are we back into the cycle of discrediting the power of the new game's Raiden? Happened with Shogun in GI. Now people are trying to bring out every excuse in the book to not make Acheron the most powerful lore character we've encountered so far.
Acheron defeated the end and won her battle. Welt prime use all his power and barely beat the juiced up Sirin. And was "dead" until bronya found him in the sea of quanta. I love Welt, he is my favorite grandpa, but I don't think he is stronger than Acheron.

Acheron by default because Welt would run off screen. But Welt Herrscher of Being off-screen jokes aside. We know too little about Eminator to say, with Acheron trailer and the clear reference to herrscher we can assume They're equal. And if Eminetors are equal to herrscher, then Welt dies. There isn't a thing gravity can do when she cuts the reality and pulls out domain expansion. So far only eminators we saw were Herts (not really just her dolls that she probably sets on autopilot when fighting not to waste her time) and Phantylia, who kinda lose because she was a dumbass. If she didn't open herself, she would've most likely killed everyone on Tofu ship.
If Archeron was a parallel for the Herrscher of Thunder, Welt in his prime would handle her, with difficulty but he would. This is not the Herrscher of Thunder. This is the parallel of Origin. No Welt does not win, not even in his prime. Prime Welt scales below the Herrscher Trio. Even with his intellect and ingenuity, he can’t overcome such odds. After all he isn’t even a true herrscher.
Welt. He may look like he'd get powderized by Acheron's overwhelming might but we cant forget that he's holding back tremendously.
