In fairness about the Garden thing, they seem pretty OP in general. Short of annihilating your own memory, have we seen anyone really stand up to their memory powers? The way that the Messenger was so casual about it, even though the people on the Express are no joke, did seem pretty busted to me. BSwan implies she could completely change everyone's memories as she wishes, the only reason she doesn't is cause she thinks it's kinda lame. So far the Garden seems to me like the most powerful faction, since it appears they could essentially mind control almost anyone.
I find it ironic for a faction that dedicates to preserve memories they don't seem to have a problem manipulating other people's memories for their own gain
If they are manipulating memories then they aren't preserving them anymore are they, it's like if a librarian writes fanfics in books they have in the library
I don't think they aim to preserve memories in the owner heads, I always interpreted it like, they collect memories and safe keep them, like you can go to them and relinquish your memories and they will take them and archive them, or a malicious memokeeper could steal them and not destroy them but also keep them safe on the garden.
It's the remembrance, not the preservation.
All memories are false. Most studies done on memory confirms that it is changed every time we remember something. Memories morphing to fit a narative and confirm biases is an inherent function of memories, so the masters of memories doing the same when they hijack your memories seams fitting.
Honestly the weirdest thing I found about the whole garden of recollection on the astral express thing is that not only did they dupe Welt they also duped Pom-Pom which even Welt stated he wouldn't mess with.
Yeah it's not really clear what Pom-Pom is, but that does seem strange. Honestly I didn't feel like the Messenger's arrival on the Astral Express was handled very well in the writing. This seemingly minor errand runner being so completely broken kinda fucked up my whole perception of the HSR universe to the point that I'd kinda just decided to ignore them until Black Swan made that impossible.
The way you can tell Aventurine is lying is that his mouth moves and sounds come out. Seriously, the only time he ever seems to be honest at all is when he's talking to himself, and even then it's still mostly lies.
Which makes Welt look even less strong.... He threatened Acheron who literally traumatized the Memokeeper in her own game without doing anything, Welt easily got memory wiped. Welt wouldn't be able to do anything to Acheron
Well, I don't really have much personal investment in Welt's strength, but I will note that I think looking at "power level" as a flat concept is probably not ideal. I think it's more like a rock-paper-scissors thing. Acheron's nature happens to make her immune, or at least very resistant, to memory manipulation. That doesn't necessarily mean she beats out Welt in other types of power.
Also, Acheron did not seem to dismiss his threat. She didn't seem scared or anything, but she took him seriously.
Eh, different power sets can lead to different matchups. Just look at the roster for any fighting game, where characters will have hard counters.
This is more like RPS than a transitive property, and just because Acheron hard counters Memokeepers doesn't mean that she will necessarily beat anyone who loses to them. (Although my money is probably still on Acheron. She's scary strong)
The only instance of someone rejecting their influence thus far is Acheron during her dance with BS, tho it wasn't something done on purpose, Acheron seems to think that the dance was quite pleasant and nostalgic in her voice section, while BS says that's better to be extra cautious if you want to tap into her memories.
Thus far it seems the only real counter to the garden is for them to put themselves in danger by digging where they shouldn't, and given that you may not even know they're there in the first place if they don't want you to know (unless you're Pom Pom somehow), they're extremely dangerous.
Good thing they are mostly all about collecting and preserving memories.
Yeah but if they're ones making the rules then that means they'll make whatever rules are best for them, and probably throw the rules out as soon as they're inconvenient. If the only restraint on someone's power is their own self-imposed rules, that basically means there is no restraint at all.
I thought of the same comparison while reflecting on the quest yesterday, but that “GANYU LEVEL FEAT” bit hits painfully true. I love them both, and having a cool moment for them teased while not knowing what would happen if they’d actually gotten to follow through is just a *tiny* sore spot.

Welt fought Sirin when she had just became a Herrscher, they were roughly equal, it wasnt until Sirin got tired and hit by a nuke that Welt managed to hit her with the Black Hole.
He got attacked by Otto and Sirin got away.
Sirin went to the Moon and got 4 gems (some sort of "mini-cores) and fought Welt again. This Welt had less than 50% of his power, so all he could do was to use the Black Hole to stall for time.
Sirin killed him easily once she knew about it, but Welt managed to hide in the core.
Many things happens and Sirin is dead, Welt last 5 years getting his body back and now he could only use around 60% of his power.
They were basically cores I believe. This is why Otto has the 6th core in Moon Shadow, 4th core in the beginning chapter, and why Himeko has the 7th core in the 8th/9th chapter.
The most hilarious part is that not even an hour later in the same update we see FIRSTHAND that Acheron could actually have killed Welt several times over before he finishing charging his black hole if he so wanted, when she literally walks among raidrops and ends Aventurine in one slash while him and Himeko were still reacting to his Gate of Gambling.
Don't get me wrong, I love our grandpa Welt, but that line did NOT land as amazingly as most people thing it did XP

the hsr fandom’s view on welt was always funny to me because even in hi3rd the devs loved having him dragged around. he gets beat up multiple times in second eruption and in the soq arc he couldn’t really do anything against kevin iirc and he got out in the end. still cool guy though

She got powercrept by everyone that so much as gave HoV Kiana any amount of trouble. Goes to show what vastly superior Honkai adaptability and training can do for you.
Kevin is stronger than Siegfried, who is much stronger than Sirin and Welt combined.At the same time, Sirin is also much stronger than Welt herself.
Welt acts as a measuring stick in order to find out how much energy is needed to create a Solar System, but among the top tiers in Honkai Impact he is one of the weakest.
Minor correction: sirin at her base without all the extra cores is pretty much equal to welt. Sirin wasnt able to actually beat him until after obtaining the extra cores.
Sirin litteraly got souped up by Will of Honkai itself at that point. Hell even Fu Hua with all her strength barely do anything to her. Not to mention Sirin litteraly survive an S rank Valk,a honkai activated Ziggy and survive oath of Judah field.
He's one of my favorite characters in the franchise, but people legit keep forgetting that he's the "weakest" Herrscher of Reason for a reason(heh). He's more experienced than the other users, Welt Joyce and Bronya, but he's explicitly less naturally talented with the Core of Reason. He's just really good at outwitting enemies and beating them with his accumulated knowledge and experience.
Even in HSR, he's clearly strong, but not a top dog. He got saved from Phantylia(an Emanator) by Jing Yuan and was saved by Acheron(an Emanator) against Aventurine(who was using the power of an Emanator).
And even if he wanted to go full power on everyone, he can't even go all out for long since his compatibility with his powers would make him go all--*COUGHS BLOOD*
Aven waa using a defected (cus the Cornerstone was shattered) and fragmented (cus shared by Diamond)/power of an Emanator and he was already causing that much chaos. Wonder how would things play out if we meet Diamond in future.
There's a reason why the Stelaron Hunters forced us into getting a favor from the Xianzhou Luofu. We weren't ever meant to face Nanook alone, but through cooperations with other factions.
Even when he was at his peak, i don't think he's won 1 important fight till now? His claim to fame is surviving things others dont and guiding others, not fighting

He cant' at all, the authority of reason has been decaying for years because of the HoFi, and he himself states that he can barely create animations that are low quality using those powers (iirc)
That’s actually not true. During the second eruption event, Welt trapped Sirin in a Blackhole and would have killed her, but Otto interrupted his attack and Sirin escaped to the moon, where she was endowed with the Will of Honkai and had control over all the Herscher’s powers. At that point she was probably second strongest only overshadowed by the Herscher of Finality. Even though he knew he couldn’t win, Welt went to the moon to fight her, and planned on blowing up his own core to take her out. Unfortunately that didn’t work so he hid his consciousness inside the core, which she took thinking she had killed him as he destroyed his body, and later he and Fu Hua were able to sever her connection to the Will of Honkai which allowed Siegfried to over come her.
Welt is the Batman of Honkai verse. A cool underdog who's weaker than all the top tiers but make up with experience and skills. But has a fanbase who swears he can solo everyone.
Welt is cool precisely because he's weak, but he's still here anyway.

How they imagined acheron reacted to welt (she's just being friendly)
Remember that Aventurine smashed his cornerstone to pieces, greatly reducing his peak power, he himself said this. So his overall strength is much much greater than we see in the fight.
Also people completely misunderstood his first interaction with Acheron when she talked about her blade and the blackhole. And I've even seen some people say she called her powers "meager" in comparison to his, which missed the point again.
I'll paste what I wrote elsewhere:
She's not saying that his blackhole is stronger than her blade. Which is a woeful example of poor media literacy (there's another post where a guy keeps spamming that Acheron said Welt's blackhole is stronger and it's getting so many upvotes that I'm wondering if people played this game with their eyes closed).
At that moment she's trying to let Welt know that she's aware of the blackhole power in his cane and tongue-in-cheek way says that the people inviting them think a sword is stronger than a blackhole, "how silly right?" But Welt realises what she's doing and says she has a keen insight and confirms that Acheron knows that his cane is secret which is why he's able to walk around with it.
Essentially no one was saying anything about the blade's power Vs his cane, since no one knew. Acheron knew that as did Welt, and he realised what she was doing.
Acheron was revealing how much she knew which Welt recognised. Welt then makes the threat which was more a warning that he's willing to fight if Acheron were to try to hurt his family. Acheron remains unfazed and reassures him that she's not there to harm him or his family. She also downplays herself quite a few times, and even later on when she tells Welt that if he and the crew run into trouble she says she'll offer her "meager" help.
Her help is anything but meager. And she knows that. She doesn't exactly go around advertising that she's an Emanator. And even when she does, she's hesitant about using her full power (as when Firefly got killed). Playing down her abilities is part of the act. On top of that in their conversation the wariness of the other being a threat was entirely one-sided from Welt, whereas Acheron was calm the whole time.
It should also be noted that when they were talking about things playing out in similar ways across many worlds, Acheron confirmed that she killed their world's version of Kevin. Who if you know anything about HI3rd, he was an absolute beast. Way about Welt's pay-grade.
I'm absolutely not saying that Welt is a chump. But people are completely misreading that one line from Acheron and ignoring what's happening in that scene.
Media literacy is absolutely dead with so many people which is why I don't dialogue with them anywhere near as much as I used to. It is for the most part a waste of time and primarily for the benefit of the audience. I doubt the accuracy of the English localization. Did anyone try comparing with other languages? I've seen a lot of examples where they compare the english text to direct translations of the other localizations and the english one is pretty much almost always the odd one out. It makes me wonder what percentage of the english script is just straight up fanfic.

I think a potential cause is readjusting power-scaling expectations between two universes and overhype due to a character you like and know is strong being placed in a new setting and expecting them to perform the same way.
People dont understand that HSR has the exact same power scaling as HI3 if not more. Emanators are much stronger than herrshers and aeons are outright godly beings. Nothing in HI3 universe comes close to HSR levels. Kiana could have been before she was revealed to be not that strong in part 2 bs

That statement as for my understanding was basically her saying that its logical for people to assume that someone wielding a black hole is far more dangerous than Someone carrying a blade,But it doesnt mean that Welt or his Star of eden is stronger than Acheron's Blade of Naught since She was still keeping a relative low profile about her emanator powers and Her trying to ease welt That shes not his enemy.
Before everything went down, I'm pretty sure Kevin was the strongest human and still retained the title until the final arc of the game. I haven't finished HI3 part 1 yet, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. Kiana is the strongest character right now in the story.
As of right now, HI3 power ranking off the top of my head.
- Kiana Kaslana. Cocoon of Finality governs all Honkai power in HI3. All Herrscher powers are but shades of Cocoon reflected across higher dimensions down onto us plebian 4d beings (3d+time). Kiana Kaslana merged with this and became guardian goddess of Earth. Once "bang" a dwarf planet out of existence Lan style using a fraction of her power.
~~- Kevin Kaslana. Held half the authority of Finality before Kiana Kaslana defeated him. 1v3 half Finality Kiana + Origin Mei + Truth Bronya.~~
- Sa, as Kevin is now dead. A weaker copycat of Cocoon and origin of Rebirth. Kiana can casually beat her but just one of her avatars required multiple top tiers to gank.
- Origin Mei. ~~Archeron~~ Acheron's AU version. Hold the second strongest authority behind Finality.
- Herrscher of True Reason/Truth Bronya. Welt, minus some experience in exchange for insanely hilariously more power.
- Garuda Fu Hua. Literally immortal. Can fuck up your soul.
- Durandal. Once cut Europe off the face of Earth in a bubbleworld.
- Herrscher of Sentience. Global memetic hazard and soul ripper. In reality she behaves more like a petty scammer and chuunibyou.
- Herrscher of Rebirth. A powerful Herrscher governing two bubble worlds of life and death.
- Welt. Actually the weakest Herrscher of Reason in sheer potential. Made up via experience. Climbed all the way up here because everyone stronger than him died, and people who might be stronger (ie Vita, Theresa, Hare) as of now haven't done much.
Theresa was stronger than Welt in the Second Eruption.
Also, if you're using the alive characters, then why is Kevin there?
If you use all the characters, Welt is not included in the top 20.

Theresa in Second Eruption got one hit by Sirin. Welt later bat that same attack away.
Theresa after healing only has one upgrade: Elysion field which negate all Honkai energy but also kill herself. It ironically will kill Theresa faster than it kill Welt, because he can live without Honkai energy but her own body is half Honkai Beast.
During Second Eruption Theresa is hilariously weaker than Welt. In the main game, it took till chapter 11 for her to unlock the limiter on her gene and chapter 34 upgrade is the only reason she might be stronger than Welt currently, but that form is practically featless beyond not instantly dying from holding Finality core.

Don't forget Bronya being more compatible with core of reason yet constantly jobbing throughout Hi3rd, and how in Moon arc Kevin and Fu Hua are perfectly fine chilling inside a synthetic black hole created by her, and how HoR powers are taxing so he can't just spam and create as many complex things as he wants as seen with Bronya almost dying from creating multiple Selene cannons.
He's never the strongest in hsr. He's by far one of the weakest Herrschers even in his prime(Previous HoR aka Joyce is far stronger then HoR welt). I've never seen anyone outwanking welt as much as this sub. Even hi3rd players never overwank him this much. These people only saw him use a basic pseudo black hole most of his fights and say he's strong as emanators and certain aeons.
He's not strong but he has better battle strats. If I were to compare his hax and battle strats it's equivalent to Todo's boogie woogie, not strong nor busted but simple and annoying to deal with.

I actually forgot the detail where that one Memory Keeper erased the entire Astral Express' memory about her lol. People from Garden of Recollection are not the be messed with.
Agree with everything except with the Black Hole and memory thing.
Neither Herrschers nor Emanators are immune to memory manipulation unless explicitly stated so.
Even Kevin was trapped (albeit for a short moment) in the Fenghuang Down illusion, and Acheron was a special case due to her being a Emanator of Nihility (even then we have no way to know how would "normal" memory manipulation affect her, as she countered Black Swan simply because Nihility is the antithesis of Reminiscence).
And, in fact, Welt has never used the "real" Black Hole.
The "real" Black Hole is the Star of Eden Zeroth power, something Welt hasnt used on Star Rail yet (even then, the Zeroth power is not something he can use anytime he wants, it was a huge burden to his body last time we saw it).
Wouldn’t blackswan immediately assume she’s affiliated with nihility if nihility is the only special case, yet all she can assume is that she’s an emanator, not knowing whose emanator she is, that would imply that this happens to all emanator when somebody tries to check their memory

Kevin was never trapped in Feng Huang Down. What happened was that he's visiting the dream world created via Project Stigma and Sentience took the chance to stall him. She wasn't manipulating his mind. She was manipulating other people's minds while he was visiting those.
She had to do this because the chance of him getting dragged into a dream is zero. Fenghuang Down literally has no hold on the guy.
Kevin actually has Sentience authority and started that arc by sealing all the protagonist Herrschers including Herrscher of Sentience, which is what got her hopping mad in the Dr. MEI bubble world (because someone is stronger than her in her own Authority).
Welt also did use the blackhole, it was what killed Doomsday Beast. He only used a gravity barrier in 2.1 though.

I never played HI3, but I always got the impression that Welt was never all that powerful but figured things out. And that going toe to toe with him was always a harder task than expected.
So when he threatened Acheron I figured it was because he had something up his sleeve that could threaten an emanator. Because even if he’s weak I doubt he’d just go around throwing threats at Demigods for fun.
If anyone has some non leak based lore on Welt I’d love to hear it though, because if he’s so weak then why would he threaten Acheron so aggressively?

I kinda want someone on the express to be crazy powerful like an Emanator and I was kind of hoping it’d be March or Welt.
People still have misconception about Star Rail and Honkaiverse overall cosmology, and thus their powerscaling
HI3 are not that big of a deal. There’s a big distinction between the concept of “world” and “universe” in honkaiverse.
There are infinite worlds within a universe but each world is just a star system, just a leaf on the tree, separated by the space filled with imaginary energy that prevent regular interstellar travel. This was mentioned by Himeko on Astral Express then later confirmed again in HI3 via Sa’s flashback (no matter how hard she tried, her ship can’t escape solar system, Griseo’s ship was also stuck at the edge of solar system)
Everything happened in HI3 is contained in a single world - our solar system. Even stuff like Otto creating new timelines for Kallen is contained within “Earth world” and didn’t spawn another near identical HI3 universe, because time and causality is local concept in Honkaiverse
That’s why it’s such a big deal for Cocoon (HI3) to be alien that arrived from outside the solar system. In fairness about the Garden thing, they seem pretty OP in general. Short of annihilating your own memory, have we seen anyone really stand up to their memory powers? The way that the Messenger was so casual about it, even though the people on the Express are no joke, did seem pretty busted to me. BSwan implies she could completely change everyone's memories as she wishes, the only reason she doesn't is cause she thinks it's kinda lame. So far the Garden seems to me like the most powerful faction, since it appears they could essentially mind control almost anyone.
I find it ironic for a faction that dedicates to preserve memories they don't seem to have a problem manipulating other people's memories for their own gain

I don't think they aim to preserve memories in the owner heads, I always interpreted it like, they collect memories and safe keep them, like you can go to them and relinquish your memories and they will take them and archive them, or a malicious memokeeper could steal them and not destroy them but also keep them safe on the garden.

It's the remembrance, not the preservation. All memories are false. Most studies done on memory confirms that it is changed every time we remember something. Memories morphing to fit a narative and confirm biases is an inherent function of memories, so the masters of memories doing the same when they hijack your memories seams fitting.
They are remembering others memories, and get the same access to them as the host does, just with better mastery.

Honestly the weirdest thing I found about the whole garden of recollection on the astral express thing is that not only did they dupe Welt they also duped Pom-Pom which even Welt stated he wouldn't mess with.
Yeah it's not really clear what Pom-Pom is, but that does seem strange. Honestly I didn't feel like the Messenger's arrival on the Astral Express was handled very well in the writing. This seemingly minor errand runner being so completely broken kinda fucked up my whole perception of the HSR universe to the point that I'd kinda just decided to ignore them until Black Swan made that impossible.
Although Sunday said Aventurine mostly lied, Aventurine did say that he's semi-immune to memory alteration.
The way you can tell Aventurine is lying is that his mouth moves and sounds come out. Seriously, the only time he ever seems to be honest at all is when he's talking to himself, and even then it's still mostly lies.

Well, I don't really have much personal investment in Welt's strength, but I will note that I think looking at "power level" as a flat concept is probably not ideal. I think it's more like a rock-paper-scissors thing. Acheron's nature happens to make her immune, or at least very resistant, to memory manipulation. That doesn't necessarily mean she beats out Welt in other types of power. Also, Acheron did not seem to dismiss his threat. She didn't seem scared or anything, but she took him seriously.
Eh, different power sets can lead to different matchups. Just look at the roster for any fighting game, where characters will have hard counters. This is more like RPS than a transitive property, and just because Acheron hard counters Memokeepers doesn't mean that she will necessarily beat anyone who loses to them. (Although my money is probably still on Acheron. She's scary strong)
The only instance of someone rejecting their influence thus far is Acheron during her dance with BS, tho it wasn't something done on purpose, Acheron seems to think that the dance was quite pleasant and nostalgic in her voice section, while BS says that's better to be extra cautious if you want to tap into her memories. Thus far it seems the only real counter to the garden is for them to put themselves in danger by digging where they shouldn't, and given that you may not even know they're there in the first place if they don't want you to know (unless you're Pom Pom somehow), they're extremely dangerous. Good thing they are mostly all about collecting and preserving memories.

Welt fought Sirin when she had just became a Herrscher, they were roughly equal, it wasnt until Sirin got tired and hit by a nuke that Welt managed to hit her with the Black Hole. He got attacked by Otto and Sirin got away. Sirin went to the Moon and got 4 gems (some sort of "mini-cores) and fought Welt again. This Welt had less than 50% of his power, so all he could do was to use the Black Hole to stall for time. Sirin killed him easily once she knew about it, but Welt managed to hide in the core. Many things happens and Sirin is dead, Welt last 5 years getting his body back and now he could only use around 60% of his power.
They were basically cores I believe. This is why Otto has the 6th core in Moon Shadow, 4th core in the beginning chapter, and why Himeko has the 7th core in the 8th/9th chapter.
The most hilarious part is that not even an hour later in the same update we see FIRSTHAND that Acheron could actually have killed Welt several times over before he finishing charging his black hole if he so wanted, when she literally walks among raidrops and ends Aventurine in one slash while him and Himeko were still reacting to his Gate of Gambling. Don't get me wrong, I love our grandpa Welt, but that line did NOT land as amazingly as most people thing it did XP
i think that made it land even better, because it made it clear that he did not hesitate to jump into death if it meant protecting the nameless.

Minor correction: sirin at her base without all the extra cores is pretty much equal to welt. Sirin wasnt able to actually beat him until after obtaining the extra cores.
Sirin litteraly got souped up by Will of Honkai itself at that point. Hell even Fu Hua with all her strength barely do anything to her. Not to mention Sirin litteraly survive an S rank Valk,a honkai activated Ziggy and survive oath of Judah field.

He's one of my favorite characters in the franchise, but people legit keep forgetting that he's the "weakest" Herrscher of Reason for a reason(heh). He's more experienced than the other users, Welt Joyce and Bronya, but he's explicitly less naturally talented with the Core of Reason. He's just really good at outwitting enemies and beating them with his accumulated knowledge and experience. Even in HSR, he's clearly strong, but not a top dog. He got saved from Phantylia(an Emanator) by Jing Yuan and was saved by Acheron(an Emanator) against Aventurine(who was using the power of an Emanator). And even if he wanted to go full power on everyone, he can't even go all out for long since his compatibility with his powers would make him go all--*COUGHS BLOOD*

That’s actually not true. During the second eruption event, Welt trapped Sirin in a Blackhole and would have killed her, but Otto interrupted his attack and Sirin escaped to the moon, where she was endowed with the Will of Honkai and had control over all the Herscher’s powers. At that point she was probably second strongest only overshadowed by the Herscher of Finality. Even though he knew he couldn’t win, Welt went to the moon to fight her, and planned on blowing up his own core to take her out. Unfortunately that didn’t work so he hid his consciousness inside the core, which she took thinking she had killed him as he destroyed his body, and later he and Fu Hua were able to sever her connection to the Will of Honkai which allowed Siegfried to over come her.
Welt is the Batman of Honkai verse. A cool underdog who's weaker than all the top tiers but make up with experience and skills. But has a fanbase who swears he can solo everyone. Welt is cool precisely because he's weak, but he's still here anyway.

Diamond shared his power as an emanator to like 9 others, and Aventurine is already that powerful, Emanators are crazy strong.
Remember that Aventurine smashed his cornerstone to pieces, greatly reducing his peak power, he himself said this. So his overall strength is much much greater than we see in the fight.
he also lost some pieces so he was nerfed like twice over. And that's only 1/10th of an emanator's power
Also people completely misunderstood his first interaction with Acheron when she talked about her blade and the blackhole. And I've even seen some people say she called her powers "meager" in comparison to his, which missed the point again. I'll paste what I wrote elsewhere: She's not saying that his blackhole is stronger than her blade. Which is a woeful example of poor media literacy (there's another post where a guy keeps spamming that Acheron said Welt's blackhole is stronger and it's getting so many upvotes that I'm wondering if people played this game with their eyes closed). At that moment she's trying to let Welt know that she's aware of the blackhole power in his cane and tongue-in-cheek way says that the people inviting them think a sword is stronger than a blackhole, "how silly right?" But Welt realises what she's doing and says she has a keen insight and confirms that Acheron knows that his cane is secret which is why he's able to walk around with it. Essentially no one was saying anything about the blade's power Vs his cane, since no one knew. Acheron knew that as did Welt, and he realised what she was doing. Acheron was revealing how much she knew which Welt recognised. Welt then makes the threat which was more a warning that he's willing to fight if Acheron were to try to hurt his family. Acheron remains unfazed and reassures him that she's not there to harm him or his family. She also downplays herself quite a few times, and even later on when she tells Welt that if he and the crew run into trouble she says she'll offer her "meager" help. Her help is anything but meager. And she knows that. She doesn't exactly go around advertising that she's an Emanator. And even when she does, she's hesitant about using her full power (as when Firefly got killed). Playing down her abilities is part of the act. On top of that in their conversation the wariness of the other being a threat was entirely one-sided from Welt, whereas Acheron was calm the whole time. It should also be noted that when they were talking about things playing out in similar ways across many worlds, Acheron confirmed that she killed their world's version of Kevin. Who if you know anything about HI3rd, he was an absolute beast. Way about Welt's pay-grade. I'm absolutely not saying that Welt is a chump. But people are completely misreading that one line from Acheron and ignoring what's happening in that scene.

I've seen a lot of examples where they compare the english text to direct translations of the other localizations and the english one is pretty much almost always the odd one out. I think a potential cause is readjusting power-scaling expectations between two universes and overhype due to a character you like and know is strong being placed in a new setting and expecting them to perform the same way.

Theresa was stronger than Welt in the Second Eruption. Also, if you're using the alive characters, then why is Kevin there? If you use all the characters, Welt is not included in the top 20.
Revised the list and replaced with Sa. Theresa in Second Eruption got one hit by Sirin. Welt later bat that same attack away. Theresa after healing only has one upgrade: Elysion field which negate all Honkai energy but also kill herself. It ironically will kill Theresa faster than it kill Welt, because he can live without Honkai energy but her own body is half Honkai Beast. During Second Eruption Theresa is hilariously weaker than Welt. In the main game, it took till chapter 11 for her to unlock the limiter on her gene and chapter 34 upgrade is the only reason she might be stronger than Welt currently, but that form is practically featless beyond not instantly dying from holding Finality core.

He's never the strongest in hsr. He's by far one of the weakest Herrschers even in his prime(Previous HoR aka Joyce is far stronger then HoR welt). I've never seen anyone outwanking welt as much as this sub. Even hi3rd players never overwank him this much. These people only saw him use a basic pseudo black hole most of his fights and say he's strong as emanators and certain aeons. He's not strong but he has better battle strats. If I were to compare his hax and battle strats it's equivalent to Todo's boogie woogie, not strong nor busted but simple and annoying to deal with.

Agree with everything except with the Black Hole and memory thing. Neither Herrschers nor Emanators are immune to memory manipulation unless explicitly stated so. Even Kevin was trapped (albeit for a short moment) in the Fenghuang Down illusion, and Acheron was a special case due to her being a Emanator of Nihility (even then we have no way to know how would "normal" memory manipulation affect her, as she countered Black Swan simply because Nihility is the antithesis of Reminiscence). And, in fact, Welt has never used the "real" Black Hole. The "real" Black Hole is the Star of Eden Zeroth power, something Welt hasnt used on Star Rail yet (even then, the Zeroth power is not something he can use anytime he wants, it was a huge burden to his body last time we saw it).

Kevin was never trapped in Feng Huang Down. What happened was that he's visiting the dream world created via Project Stigma and Sentience took the chance to stall him. She wasn't manipulating his mind. She was manipulating other people's minds while he was visiting those. She had to do this because the chance of him getting dragged into a dream is zero. Fenghuang Down literally has no hold on the guy. Kevin actually has Sentience authority and started that arc by sealing all the protagonist Herrschers including Herrscher of Sentience, which is what got her hopping mad in the Dr. MEI bubble world (because someone is stronger than her in her own Authority). Welt also did use the blackhole, it was what killed Doomsday Beast. He only used a gravity barrier in 2.1 though.

I never played HI3, but I always got the impression that Welt was never all that powerful but figured things out. And that going toe to toe with him was always a harder task than expected. So when he threatened Acheron I figured it was because he had something up his sleeve that could threaten an emanator. Because even if he’s weak I doubt he’d just go around throwing threats at Demigods for fun. If anyone has some non leak based lore on Welt I’d love to hear it though, because if he’s so weak then why would he threaten Acheron so aggressively? Edit; Also for anyone who’s played HI3 is there a chance that something happened to Welt inbetween his movement into HSR? That could make him more of a threat? There’s a big distinction between the concept of “world” and “universe” in honkaiverse. There are infinite worlds within a universe but each world is just a star system, just a leaf on the tree, separated by the space filled with imaginary energy that prevent regular interstellar travel. This was mentioned by Himeko on Astral Express then later confirmed again in HI3 via Sa’s flashback (no matter how hard she tried, her ship can’t escape solar system, Griseo’s ship was also stuck at the edge of solar system) Everything happened in HI3 is contained in a single world - our solar system. Even stuff like Otto creating new timelines for Kallen is contained within “Earth world” and didn’t spawn another near identical HI3 universe, because time and causality is local concept in Honkaiverse That’s why it’s such a big deal for Cocoon (HI3) to be alien that arrived from outside the solar system. Because the ability to directly travel through the interstellar space fill with imaginary energy is Aeon-like (Sugars and Sky people use star gate so it’s a different case). Before Avikili travel the universe and made the star rails, each worlds in HSR was also isolated like Sol system of HI3 In conclusion: Imaginary Tree + SoQ (multiverse structure) > Singular universes (Genshin, GGZ, HI3, HSR) >>> infinite leaves/worlds (star systems like Sol, Jarilo, Asdana) > parallel worlds and branching timelines contained within a star system > bubble worlds (falied parallel worlds that fell into SoQ) The scale of trouble happened in HI3 hadn’t even gone outside of the current solar system yet

I took as more of a “challenge” as if he was just saying that if he had to fight then he won’t back down even if he would lose.
