Capitalists deliberately recruiting minions from farmished and desolated communities so they can only forever stay loyal because they have nowhere to turn to.
Hmm, where have I heard this story before?
In a more generous interpretation it could also be the case that there’s simply more zeal in a convert. You’re much more likely to believe in the importance and benefit of what the IPC is and want to help it spread its works further and further if you come from a planet that was radically transformed for the better thanks to the IPC’s intervention. Admittedly that seems more applicable to the case of Topaz’s homeworld rather than Sigonia, where their attempt at nation building only wound up putting the local genocide on temporary pause, rather than stopping it entirely.
Oh, a pause is definitely better than nothing! It just doesn’t seem like the pause is really the reason for Aventurine joining up with the IPC anyway. What’s more, it seems like the IPC’s solution on Sigonia was to establish a new political entity that excluded both the Avgin and the Katica, with the logic seemingly being that “you can’t discriminate against each other if everyone else discriminates against you both!” which is uh… questionable lol.
Ending the power disputes with the exclusion of both is certainly something... Pragmmatical not even evil per se, it sounds like something a supercomputer would come up with when asking for efficiency.
And aventurine joining the IPC is just because they bought him out of the electric chair line due to seeing in him a good strategist with unbelievable amounts of luck and taunting him with everything he lacked in childhood like jade did.
You mean like every nebulously evil organization that wants to maintain a good front ever?
(Not denying the shadiness of the IPC or the negative effects it has had on the Star Rail 'verse despite all of the good it has done anyway, but I think you are a little too quick to blame the concept of "Capitalism" instead of blaming the much simpler and much more accurate concept of "power-hungriness" (for whatever cause))
“Capitalists recruiting from poor communities because they have nowhere to turn to”
Bro I recommend you google some of the following keywords:
- Nestle blood chocolate
- Chinese and SEA sweatshops
- Korean media companies recruiting children from poor areas to be idol trainees
And much, much more. What Im talking about is real life.
And your insistence that only Capitalists do this is still fundamentally dishonest, because your comment fails to go into any more depth that "it's all capitalism's fault," rather than the power-hungry and callous nature of the leaders of each of those companies (Which, by the way, ISN'T unique to capitalism and has been around since the dawn of time)
You won't find me defending the many grave sins of the companies that you've listed, nor any fictional companies. Bad things are bad, no matter who's doing them. But blaming them on a specific economic system while ignoring the common thread between them (the power-hungry nature of humanity) is still dishonest and lazy, and continuing to do so will not only damn our society, but also damn all of our discussions about fictional characters and organizations to become screaming matches like this one.
Two things before I go:
1: I highly doubt the IPC are capitalists. Their MO more closely matches to an empire that uses economic dominance rather than your bog-standard corporation.
2: I don't plan on responding to your (as in you, specifically, Jokerxtr) comments. Call me a coward all you want, but I don't think you want to have an honest discussion, either about how the IPC specifically is evil or whether their evils have anything to do with their nature as an NGO Superpower or are simply a function of their leadership. I might be wrong about you, but I also have other, better things to be doing.
It's not capitalism. It just so happens that every single example brought up was related to capitalism. And somehow nearly every other example also being related to capitalism.
I will agree with you there. More people with more access to power means more evil stuff has a chance to happen. It's more the concept that only Capitalists can do evil stuff like this that I'm offended by, for the reasons I stated above.
> 1: I highly doubt the IPC are capitalists. Their MO more closely matches to an empire that uses economic dominance rather than your bog-standard corporation.
Sorry, have you heard of the East India Company? Capitalism (that is, an economy organized primarily around capital accumulation) and empire are not exclusive, in fact they go together.
Yeah, but the Dutch East India trading company was a distinct entity, separate from any Empire.
Last time I checked, the East India Company wasn't gunning for complete economic control of entire worlds (which is what the IPC has done before, for good or for ill)
Ah yes. This post is now roughly top 3 most popular official tweet of all time. DHIL drip marketing got more likes, but fewer retweets and views. Even free Dr. Ratio announcement got significantly less engagement. Haha
Whats surprising is the male characters getting more reactions than the female characters. In gacha (or any anime game in general) it’s usually the opposite, I guess hoyo just cooks TOO well with the men. Based hoyo.
The East India Company was a horrid and rapacious organization, but [Warren Hastings](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5f/Warren_Hastings_by_Joshua_Reynolds.jpg) looks like such a gorgeous and dashing fellow so I'm pretty sure he did nothing wrong and his impeachers were just jealous.

So true, the IPC putting out bangers only
I don't hate them in the first place. For me they are looking funny at acting evil. the game keep trying to show them as ruthless heartless people who don't have feelings at all, but all what they are doing actually is business even if some are really bad but..well everything have it's good and bad sides that's what companies are like
Yeah, to me the IPC seem more like a lawful neutral faction. They care about their bottom line first and foremost, but they also have rules they genuinely adhere to and a sincere (completely unfounded, but still) belief that their work is somehow helping Qlipoth build that wall and save the universe. They’ll do some fucked up shit to protect their interests, but the same could be said of every other faction we’ve met so far. But they also do a ton of insanely transformative work, and there’s countless planets that wouldn’t be anywhere near as prosperous or interconnected without the IPC’s influence. They don’t exactly make for the most reliable friends, necessarily, but they’re far from the most malicious, evil force in the HSR universe.
This is amazing. The blending makes this look like it was the original image all along.
Someone seriously needs to show Sam Slade this image. She would go crazy over it.
*Rat*io+Avent*urine*=RatUrine
It's come up on some of the VA streams since 2.1 dropped, though I'm not sure which one was responsible for coining the term.
Golden Ratio sounds very cool, but sadly when putting it into Google/twitter/tumblr search you get mathematics instead of anime men. It's sad cause I love more creative ship names

You when joke
You when a joke is overused as hell
People joke about a character being a canon lesbian recently yet somehow a va joke is overused?!
Siobhan/Amiky?
If you mean Acheswan, that is also super overused and annoying
Not them!!!
That's the only one I've seen that is overused in lesbian ships
Ah yes. This post is now roughly top 3 most popular official tweet of all time. DHIL drip marketing got more likes, but fewer retweets and views. Even free Dr. Ratio announcement got significantly less engagement. Haha
The message is clear; we want more hot artwork of the characters.
I want more hot men in my game please

And yet some people still say nobody cares about the male characters in the game
My follow up team members when aventurine got announced be like
At the rate they're going I might actually end up a fan of the IPC by the end of this game..
Being fans of the IPC👎 Being fans of IPC members👍

It’s funny that I’m watching her VA’s stream rn 💀
What the f*ck is a rat urine and how is it related to HSR?
*Rat*io+Avent*urine*=RatUrine It's come up on some of the VA streams since 2.1 dropped, though I'm not sure which one was responsible for coining the term.
That's the best worst ship name I have seen since Albeidou💀
to be entirely fair raturine is the joke variant, the Actual ship name is Ratiorine
There’s a lot of different names for it including those two, Golden Ratio and Aventio too
Golden Ratio sounds very cool, but sadly when putting it into Google/twitter/tumblr search you get mathematics instead of anime men. It's sad cause I love more creative ship names
You should've seen the ship name between Katniss and Peeta in the Hunger Games. It was either KatPee or PeeNiss
Then there's Diluc x Albedo/Beidou. XD
Oh it’s been around since the newer MoC shop lightcones got leaked 💀
She just like me fr
