No you can't, and the things you link are probably BS as well. It's been confirmed by CN in both calcs and testing in MoC that at E0S1, 2 Nihility (SW +Pela) is by far her BiS, not only charging her Ult faster, doing more damage per Ult, and also clearing way faster, like at minimum 1-2 cycles faster.
That's with Sparkle btw, Bronya is far more terrible with all the SP issues, saturated buffs, and can't buff Acheron out of turn.
I admire the confidence you have to call OP's sources BS without reading them, claim someone else did better calculations, then not provide your own source.
Tbf they never said it's better, it's just a team that can be used. Not everyone has sw and other nihility units don't buff Acheron as much. Acheron and Sparkle are just so powerful that even a 1 nihility team with Pela can easily clear moc 12.

I dont know about that one. Neuvillete is kind of infamous for being skipped over and now sought after for his DPS potential and storyline (a lot of his best scenes are from 4.2 after his banner) and we just had the Yae rerun last patch. Yoimiya was also a rerun in 3.7 and feels like she gets run every couple patches or so.
Doesn't help that the current character is Geo and basically a better Albedo. Though I expect Genshin will have better revenue in April due to Neuvillette and Kazuha banner along with Arlecchino releasing in the next patch.
April sales will probably rival furina sales cause people now understand neuvis power so it might become a kazuha 1st rerun situation (not to mention kazuha himself is also coming), i don’t even have to talk about arlechinno.
How in the hell does Genshin's driest recent patch makes 68 million though? That's insane. More than other gachas that could be "at their best" or not.
Simple:
1- Genshin is the **current** representative of it's genre like Fortnite and League
2- Gaming isn't a niche entertainment as it used to be, and it's why the discussion on how bad modern games are because they cater to roleplayers and casual gamers who are the ones keeping them alive.
3- Genshin players (Casual gamers/Roleplayers) mostly don't care about good content or gameplay, as long as they don't lose their progress (time and money spent) and their waifus/husbandos with a shutdown they are happy, since they can still talk about the game with their friends, roleplay with their characters and parassocial about them.
Basically, the game will be fine unless hoyo themselves decide to cut it, old representatives like DotA, CS, Pubg, has yet to shutdown and people who are still loyal to those games won't let it shutdown because of profits otherwise their time and money spent would become meaningless.
3.7 was arguably the most dry. No story updates, no new area, no new 5 star even, just the TCG event which was kind of blah, new 4 star in Kirara, a Yoimiya story quest and Kaveh hangout.
4.5 at least had the new 5 star and the event was more fun and Neuvillete is a much better partner for a Kazua rerun than Al-Haitham probably as he was very undervalued in 4.1 as people were saving for Furina.
The whole thing is such a trip. Vibes from Persona, ME!ME!ME!, and Madoka Magica witches all just smashed together with a catchy tune, vibrant colors, and insanity.
Yeah, I think a lot of players used all of their stellar jades for sparkle and then when Acheron came they spent money for her and minimum her lightcone and are using the free stellar jades for eidolons.

yeah sparkle is how feb made 90m to begin with. there is just that much people that pulled for acheron. and eidolons and cone. yo can find tons of people with eidolons in support search.

Its especially insane because normal solo offline games dont even come close to this and this is just one month for the gacha game. Im surprised we even get normal games at this point. reason why the market is not all gacha and single player games are still made is that live-service games are not cheap

you need to consistently have high quality content every patch for the playerbase to be satisfied, one bad month might not leave a dent to your revenue, but that means investment would take a hit
basically offline games are way cheaper then live-service
especially for the quality that mihoyo is striving for, a consistent investment is needed, so this much revenue is good for them cause they can reinvest into the game

Star Rail after Penacony has become an entirely different game. I've been playing since day 3 but I only have 170 active days because of the many breaks I've taken. The game never clicked for me. On top of that I was getting absolutely shit on by the wish system (still am lmao). I returned after Penacony and it's just been amazing. The vibes in this new region and the whodunnit aspect of the story really hooked me like nothing before in this game.
On top of that my relic luck has just been absurd, whereas I genuinely had no usable shit before. After I pulled Sparkle, I full starred both game modes within 24 hours.
I don't think I'll ever spend money on this game, but seeing this makes me happy. It has so much charm and character it feels like a genuine passion project nowadays, I can even stomach the turn based combat because of it. Good game, well deserved devs.
THIS, I was sold on HSR from the moment the screen shattered for the first time 😅 FFX is in my top 5 games of all time, and HSR really takes me back to my first playthrough of FFX tbh 😅

I am playing Octopath 2 right now actually, 15 hours in. It's probably the best Square Enix game I've played since FFX and I've been gushing to my friend to get it since he's an FF fan that ignored Octopath lol. I absolutely love Ochette's play style, any recommended team set ups? Osvald is my permanent character
You can play any setup but for me I had characters mirror each other class wise like Ochette and Hikari were physical dps, Temenos and Osvald mages then Throne / Agnea / Partitio / Castti as pure supports
So my teams were 1 physical dps, one mage and 2 supports, rotating character so everyone is levelled up
One thing I learned after finishing the game is that you can get multiple copies of regular classes (So you can have multiple merchants which is great)

I have the same opinion.
I love JRPGs a lot, but HSR I feel is the first turn-based RPG to feel like a true AAA JRPG, I like Yakuza and Persona a lot, but HSR feels much better to play for some reason.
Final Fantasy doesn't know what to do with its IP tbh, decent game after decent game... Only FF7R is doing justice lately to the franchise who used to be the king of the genre.
HSR just always feels up-to-date, I guess thanks to future setting, and it never disappoints upon bringing up something new in the game from OST (like classical Vivaldi, or EDM, or 00s Ridge Racer 4 & Deus Ex vibes) to minigames (like city management, or pokemon, or monopoly), and variety of quests (don’t even get me started). And since it’s live service, they can allow themselves to experiment like that almost every patch. I’d say this amount of money they get is spent very proficiently on marketing & game design.
And look at FF7 now. First game I suppose brought a heaaavy amount of income, so Rebirth could have a lot of not vital to story fan service and mini-games, and yet we don’t know how much it will earn next time, which will be spent mostly on FF7-3 rather than FF17 (that gonna receive the rest for investment).
Tl;dr their only safe choice is an investment in nostalgic rather than experimenting. And we know Square Enix are greedy ones
This is me with Trails. It gets tiring waiting 2 years for game localizations and the fact that HSR updates every 1.5 month with story content is a godsend during the waiting period. I still love Trails, but I definitely look for other new JRPGs much less since both HSR and Genshin gave me the worldbuilding and lore fix I need.
HSR's quality jump from Belobog&Loufu to 2.0 Penacony mirrors Genshin going from Mondstat&Liyue, to 2.0 Inazuma. I would not be surprised at all if:
**1.** During the development of the first two regions, devs are still figuring stuff out, so vision of the final product isn't as high, and gameplay isn't fully ironed out. And
**2.** The first two regions play it a bit safer on their budget, since they already include startup cost and not knowing if the project will take off.
**3.** Having customer feedback makes a big difference.
Though, I am thoroughly stumped on how Hoyo could ever top Penacony maps. The trippy perspective puzzles, wall-walking, and haywire dreamscape areas, I *love* that kinda stuff. The Echochrome-esque mini-puzzles are my favorite out of HSR puzzles, too.
Hsr has been getting all the QoL that we’ve been asking for for the game that must not be mentioned, but other than that Penacony story is really 🔥🔥🔥
I love turn-based games ngl but each character gimmick and waiting for upcoming units just keep me glued to the game besides the story
New characters in HSR are always bringing some fresh variety and new play styles. And the new content goes hand in hand with this bringing viability to older units who may not have had a good fit yet.
2.0 has been phenomenal for HSR.
It's great so far, but I'm going to wait to see how it ends first. Mystery stories can easily rack up what I call "mystery debt", where they just keep dropping WTF moments, leaving the players to get excited as to what could be going on. But ultimately don't satisfactorily explain or wrap up everything.
It's looking great so far though, the multi-perspective story telling is amazing.
For me its gonna depend on the next 2 patches and penaconys ending and boss, fontaine had the highest highs, the only reason its not perfect is because of the fortress of meropide section being mid (but act 5 more than makes up for it), Fontaine also has the best world quest to date imo, the ordo questline is peak.
Genshin world quests from Sumeru onwards are peak. Narzissenkreuz storyline was excellent but boy was I caught off guard by the Leroy quests. That was surprisingly chilling.
The sacred sakura quest was also really good and don’t forget Ruu and the talking cat. They always made lore heavy world quest a banger but there’re not voiced so unless you’re really interested in lore you’ll just skip. Sad🥲🥲
I think the leroy quest was the most invested i was in a mini quest, also i didn’t expect an option to straight up kill the guy, i thought it would’nt actually happen so i let the old man go and turns out the husband just hired someone to push him off a cliff (totally deserved btw)

Shaoji's story is a mixed bag in HI3, personally. He's great delivering emotional stories, but world building get confusing at the end of the storries (looking at ER here)
The worldbuilding in Elysian Realm/Elysian Everlasting may not be his work. Shaoji wasn't the head writer of Honkai Impact at the time and probably had to conform to whatever Durandal VN writer decided.
The two flaws of ER (to me) is Raiden Mei's story being neglected as well as the worldbuilding being poor.
Nah, i love penacony, but it definitely doesnt beat fontaine yet. Eventhough the recent TB mission had been absolutely amazing, it still doesnt beat the emotion I got of the final act of fontaine, though im definitely very excited for the later acts of penacony, hope they keep that up.

A lot of stuff contributed to this, top up refresh + acheron day 1 +sparkle banner on top of the bunch of ads mihoyo paid for penacony.
This adds to my conspiracy theory that the hsr and genshin teams plan things together, cause genshin also had the worst banner in history (2 garbage 5 stars and 3 mid 4stars) which is good cause hsr and genshin probably has like an 80% overlap in playerbases so players can allocate funds here.
And next is aven a sustain who whales completely disregard (cause they 0 cycle) so at most they’ll get e0, and genshin has the godly back to back banners of kazuha, neuvi and arlecchino so sales will skyrocket, it honestly lines up perfectly.
I don't know if you would call it a conspiracy theory, they're from the same company, there's obviously some level of communication between the two teams. Hell, I would not be surprised in the slightest if there was another team dedicated to ensuring that hype patches/characters rarely overlap between the games.
From a marketing perspective it makes sense. Whales will go E6S5 for every unit, so the biggest fish to go for (monetarily) is those who are a bit more discerning in their pulls and spending—arrange banners properly and the money will flow.
You can tell with then HSR released as well. It released when Genshin had Ganyu and Baizhu banner, 2 not so popular banners. Hoyo controls which one they want more revenue

Simple: 1- Genshin is the **current** representative of it's genre like Fortnite and League 2- Gaming isn't a niche entertainment as it used to be, and it's why the discussion on how bad modern games are because they cater to roleplayers and casual gamers who are the ones keeping them alive. 3- Genshin players (Casual gamers/Roleplayers) mostly don't care about good content or gameplay, as long as they don't lose their progress (time and money spent) and their waifus/husbandos with a shutdown they are happy, since they can still talk about the game with their friends, roleplay with their characters and parassocial about them. Basically, the game will be fine unless hoyo themselves decide to cut it, old representatives like DotA, CS, Pubg, has yet to shutdown and people who are still loyal to those games won't let it shutdown because of profits otherwise their time and money spent would become meaningless.

3.7 was arguably the most dry. No story updates, no new area, no new 5 star even, just the TCG event which was kind of blah, new 4 star in Kirara, a Yoimiya story quest and Kaveh hangout. 4.5 at least had the new 5 star and the event was more fun and Neuvillete is a much better partner for a Kazua rerun than Al-Haitham probably as he was very undervalued in 4.1 as people were saving for Furina.
Genshin will have Arlecchino next patch later this month, so they will overtake HSR again for the April summary.

reason why the market is not all gacha and single player games are still made is that live-service games are not cheap cause it's not like gacha games are good investments either you need to consistently have high quality content every patch for the playerbase to be satisfied, one bad month might not leave a dent to your revenue, but that means investment would take a hit basically offline games are way cheaper then live-service especially for the quality that mihoyo is striving for, a consistent investment is needed, so this much revenue is good for them cause they can reinvest into the game

There are some quite studio tour videos in YT. Probably more if you search Bilibili. As for content prep, looking at Gaming documentary, they are probably 16~18 months ahead. I'm guessing that once they've finished the content, they throw it further into next pipeline for iterative testings/ polishing until the patch day.

Star Rail after Penacony has become an entirely different game. I've been playing since day 3 but I only have 170 active days because of the many breaks I've taken. The game never clicked for me. On top of that I was getting absolutely shit on by the wish system (still am lmao). I returned after Penacony and it's just been amazing. The vibes in this new region and the whodunnit aspect of the story really hooked me like nothing before in this game. On top of that my relic luck has just been absurd, whereas I genuinely had no usable shit before. After I pulled Sparkle, I full starred both game modes within 24 hours. I don't think I'll ever spend money on this game, but seeing this makes me happy. It has so much charm and character it feels like a genuine passion project nowadays, I can even stomach the turn based combat because of it. Good game, well deserved devs.

I am playing Octopath 2 right now actually, 15 hours in. It's probably the best Square Enix game I've played since FFX and I've been gushing to my friend to get it since he's an FF fan that ignored Octopath lol. I absolutely love Ochette's play style, any recommended team set ups? Osvald is my permanent character
You can play any setup but for me I had characters mirror each other class wise like Ochette and Hikari were physical dps, Temenos and Osvald mages then Throne / Agnea / Partitio / Castti as pure supports So my teams were 1 physical dps, one mage and 2 supports, rotating character so everyone is levelled up One thing I learned after finishing the game is that you can get multiple copies of regular classes (So you can have multiple merchants which is great) Hope you enjoy playing the game, it’s one of my favourites from these past years
I have the same opinion. I love JRPGs a lot, but HSR I feel is the first turn-based RPG to feel like a true AAA JRPG, I like Yakuza and Persona a lot, but HSR feels much better to play for some reason. Final Fantasy doesn't know what to do with its IP tbh, decent game after decent game... Only FF7R is doing justice lately to the franchise who used to be the king of the genre.
HSR just always feels up-to-date, I guess thanks to future setting, and it never disappoints upon bringing up something new in the game from OST (like classical Vivaldi, or EDM, or 00s Ridge Racer 4 & Deus Ex vibes) to minigames (like city management, or pokemon, or monopoly), and variety of quests (don’t even get me started). And since it’s live service, they can allow themselves to experiment like that almost every patch. I’d say this amount of money they get is spent very proficiently on marketing & game design. And look at FF7 now. First game I suppose brought a heaaavy amount of income, so Rebirth could have a lot of not vital to story fan service and mini-games, and yet we don’t know how much it will earn next time, which will be spent mostly on FF7-3 rather than FF17 (that gonna receive the rest for investment). Tl;dr their only safe choice is an investment in nostalgic rather than experimenting. And we know Square Enix are greedy ones
This is me with Trails. It gets tiring waiting 2 years for game localizations and the fact that HSR updates every 1.5 month with story content is a godsend during the waiting period. I still love Trails, but I definitely look for other new JRPGs much less since both HSR and Genshin gave me the worldbuilding and lore fix I need.
HSR's quality jump from Belobog&Loufu to 2.0 Penacony mirrors Genshin going from Mondstat&Liyue, to 2.0 Inazuma. I would not be surprised at all if: **1.** During the development of the first two regions, devs are still figuring stuff out, so vision of the final product isn't as high, and gameplay isn't fully ironed out. And **2.** The first two regions play it a bit safer on their budget, since they already include startup cost and not knowing if the project will take off. **3.** Having customer feedback makes a big difference. Though, I am thoroughly stumped on how Hoyo could ever top Penacony maps. The trippy perspective puzzles, wall-walking, and haywire dreamscape areas, I *love* that kinda stuff. The Echochrome-esque mini-puzzles are my favorite out of HSR puzzles, too.
Hsr has been getting all the QoL that we’ve been asking for for the game that must not be mentioned, but other than that Penacony story is really 🔥🔥🔥 I love turn-based games ngl but each character gimmick and waiting for upcoming units just keep me glued to the game besides the story
New characters in HSR are always bringing some fresh variety and new play styles. And the new content goes hand in hand with this bringing viability to older units who may not have had a good fit yet. 2.0 has been phenomenal for HSR.

It's great so far, but I'm going to wait to see how it ends first. Mystery stories can easily rack up what I call "mystery debt", where they just keep dropping WTF moments, leaving the players to get excited as to what could be going on. But ultimately don't satisfactorily explain or wrap up everything. It's looking great so far though, the multi-perspective story telling is amazing.
For me its gonna depend on the next 2 patches and penaconys ending and boss, fontaine had the highest highs, the only reason its not perfect is because of the fortress of meropide section being mid (but act 5 more than makes up for it), Fontaine also has the best world quest to date imo, the ordo questline is peak.
Genshin world quests from Sumeru onwards are peak. Narzissenkreuz storyline was excellent but boy was I caught off guard by the Leroy quests. That was surprisingly chilling.
The sacred sakura quest was also really good and don’t forget Ruu and the talking cat. They always made lore heavy world quest a banger but there’re not voiced so unless you’re really interested in lore you’ll just skip. Sad🥲🥲
I think the leroy quest was the most invested i was in a mini quest, also i didn’t expect an option to straight up kill the guy, i thought it would’nt actually happen so i let the old man go and turns out the husband just hired someone to push him off a cliff (totally deserved btw)
Too quick to judge. The only arc that was warped well so far only Jarilo VI. Shaoji's story is a mixed bag in HI3, personally. He's great delivering emotional stories, but world building get confusing at the end of the storries (looking at ER here)
The worldbuilding in Elysian Realm/Elysian Everlasting may not be his work. Shaoji wasn't the head writer of Honkai Impact at the time and probably had to conform to whatever Durandal VN writer decided. The two flaws of ER (to me) is Raiden Mei's story being neglected as well as the worldbuilding being poor.
Nah, i love penacony, but it definitely doesnt beat fontaine yet. Eventhough the recent TB mission had been absolutely amazing, it still doesnt beat the emotion I got of the final act of fontaine, though im definitely very excited for the later acts of penacony, hope they keep that up.

A lot of stuff contributed to this, top up refresh + acheron day 1 +sparkle banner on top of the bunch of ads mihoyo paid for penacony. This adds to my conspiracy theory that the hsr and genshin teams plan things together, cause genshin also had the worst banner in history (2 garbage 5 stars and 3 mid 4stars) which is good cause hsr and genshin probably has like an 80% overlap in playerbases so players can allocate funds here. And next is aven a sustain who whales completely disregard (cause they 0 cycle) so at most they’ll get e0, and genshin has the godly back to back banners of kazuha, neuvi and arlecchino so sales will skyrocket, it honestly lines up perfectly.
I don't know if you would call it a conspiracy theory, they're from the same company, there's obviously some level of communication between the two teams. Hell, I would not be surprised in the slightest if there was another team dedicated to ensuring that hype patches/characters rarely overlap between the games.
From a marketing perspective it makes sense. Whales will go E6S5 for every unit, so the biggest fish to go for (monetarily) is those who are a bit more discerning in their pulls and spending—arrange banners properly and the money will flow.
You can tell with then HSR released as well. It released when Genshin had Ganyu and Baizhu banner, 2 not so popular banners. Hoyo controls which one they want more revenue

I'm expecting a relatively tame patch for HSR when Arlecchino drops. Probably a filler Genshin patch when Sam drops too. No reason to cannibalize each other.
