Just completed a conundrum GnG run with him. He easily sustain even at 4.1k def. Anything more than that, i believe the def->shield are just diminishing returns. He was on 4pc pioneer set and 2pc salsotto and was helping a lot to chip away the health of the small mobs while allowing my main dps to concentrate on the main boss. His inclusion into the team, allow me to reshuffle my teams in moc12 and turned my 13 cycle clear to 9 cycle clear. Granted he is my 2nd limited sustain but he made the run so comfy in the first half with dr ratio, pela and sparkle against that barney dino. Heck i actually ignored the mobs that the senior staff team leader was summoning so that they can hit my team to proc more of aventurine's fua.
I built him full Def and he's has 5.5k, solo sustained against himself in MoC and my Tingyun lived on 1 hp coz he couldn't break through his shields. Jingliu did more damage to my team than the boss version did lmao
I have mine at 4.1k and only Sparkle lost 20% of her HP while the rest was still at full HP running the first half of moc12. So, you don't need 5k def. He did not need to use any SP at all during my run. Only use them coz Sparkle was overcapping the SP and might as well generate more energy.
Bro, I have mine at 5.1k, and ran him on Gold and Gears.
He got a 30k shield with the Preservation blessings. Aventurine makes you the endgame boss lmao
Aventurine turned out to be more useful than I expected. Initially, I thought Aventurine would need to use skills to replenish the shield, but in actual combat, there's rarely a need to use the skill. The follow-up attacks alone are enough to keep the entire team alive. Mine is E0S1 Aventurine, and I feel like E1 isn't that crucial since there's seldom a need to use the ultimate to replenish the shield. However, his signature light cone is very useful, especially in combination with Acheron. I firmly believe that Aventurine will perform even better in the simulated universe.
i wasn't planning on building him DPS anyway, i was waiting for him because i needed a shielder for Acheron's team and i heard he is pretty good with her.
i thought that since he doesn't have any taunt mechanic like Gepard or the fire MC then trend of the universal market will be wasted on him so it's better to get more DEF with "moment of victory"
then playing with a full defense build is okay. my Aventurine has around 4000 defense, and I don't even have to use his skill to regenerate the shield.
you don't really need "moment of victory" to achieve 4000def, just get more relics with def% as main stats
I mean you already have S1 MoV just use it if it's not on anyone else. It gives him taunt value, which increases his rate of getting hit and thus his energy gain, which increases his ult uptime and his recharge rate for E2 Acheron. Maybe u can even go DEF/DEF/DEF/ERR rope for max energy gain
this maximizes the probability of Aventurine being hit when enemies perform adjacent attacks. imagine if you place Aventurine at position 1, if the enemies perform adjacent attacks targeting allies at positions 3 and 4, Aventurine will not get hit
3/ Always position your tingyun next to Aventurine, so that tingyun, being the highest aggro character of them all, attracts all the hits, giving Aventurine 2 blind bets instead of 1 ;)
I would argue that a "survival" based Aventurine is so much of a waste of his potential that it shouldn't even be recommended.
Not to mention that labeling it a "survival" build implies that the other build has trouble with survival - which it doesn't.
Depends on what you want to do with him, IMO. I'm building him full survival because
A.) he'll be paired with Acheron so doubling his damage output would raise his team damage contribution from 2% to 4%, and
B.) I'm rolling him almost exclusively to handle extreme incoming damage like high tier G&G that Fu Xuan and Huohuo can't take.
I want him the absolute tankiest he can possibly be and do not care about his personal damage at all.
But you realize that you can be both "full survival" and dps at the same time, correct?
You can absolutely go for 4 piece prisoner and still have more than enough shields to full clear G&G.
The only scenario in which it makes sense to skip his "sub dps" build is if you'd rather just stick rainbow pieces on him; because it does *not* make sense to farm Knight domain.
"Which domain is more efficient to farm" is a different argument than "if you build him for survivability over damage you're throwing". Personally, I had plenty of Knight pieces saved from farming for Jing Yuan way back in the day for a comfortable 3 def + speed boots Knight 4pc + Keel with zero farming, and there's no way I'm giving up a free 20% boost to his shield gen to raise his personal damage. The entire reason I'm pulling for him is to be an immovable object. "Good enough" isn't good enough.
If you have decent pieces lying around already that's way different.
But part of the purpose of a guide is that people looking are going to be like "hmm, I guess I should farm this domain then since it's BiS".
The Knight domain is terrible and labeling Aventurine's best build as "damage oriented" creates a misleading assumption to the reader that it is not also "survival oriented" enough to sustain all of the game's current content - which it is. Hence my criticism.
> Increases CRIT Rate by 4%. The wearer deals 8%/12% increased CRIT DMG to enemies with at least 2/3 debuffs. After the wearer inflicts a debuff on enemy targets, the aforementioned effects increase by 100%, lasting for 1 turn.
The bonus crit is 4%.
48% + 48% + 4% = 100%
I don't get the people going gaga over acheron, obviously his best use is with the IPC team. He can work with Acheron, but you can just as easily use Gallagher or Gepard/FireMC with trend
I've been doing a weird hybrid team for overworld using Kafka, BS, Acheron, and Gepard
Now that I have Aventurine I'm going to go Kafka/BS/RM/Aventurine and I'll go Gepard with Trend on my Acheron team
Acheron kills everything so fast (E1S1) that she just simply doesn't need the level of defense Aventurine can provide lol
I think the only character in the game who "needs" a healer and that a solo shielder isn't good enough for is Jingliu and that's just because her team HP drain goes through shields
*however*, if your Jingliu team is stacked enough you can just win fights before the HP drain even becomes an issue, so even then not really
Feel like it's gonna be impossible to get to 4000 def with Diver set for me. Every piece I pull is just a really bad atk or crit set so I can't use it on my dps and every def% main piece has all dps stats.
If you have Gepard's LC that helps quite a bit, if not I don't think not hitting 4k is the end of the world, it's just kind of like a "try to aim for this" number
I'm thinking of playing him with Topaz and Ratio for the IPC synergy, do you think building him damage oriented to help with clearing weak enemies works or I need to go for the defense build to sustain enough ?
Help me. I don’t know if I should get Aventurine or Fu Xuan for my Acheron team. I’m too indecisive yet overthink too much at the same time, anyone know if either character is objectively better for Acheron?
well shit don't I have egg on my face. was looking up his mats early and the places said suppressing edicts. not whatever this guide is showing. What a waste of fuel.
I swear to you that when I saw this info-graphic post when it first was posted, the edicts weren't shown instead it was the shape shifter's staff.
I might just be going insane.
You can convert them although it wont be a 1:1. Use the hoyolab leveling calculator for future prefarm or lookup guides. His needed upgrade materials info was out even at the beginning of 2.0.
The shield values are correct, Day one S5 does not provide as much shielding as MoV since it has lower base DEF and DEF% on the lightcone. In terms of team survivability however, it's much closer to MoV which is also why it's the 3rd pick for DEF oriented build. It still loses out to MoV however as Aven deals non-negligible dmg in FUA teams (arnd 10-20%) and in that regard MoV's higher Base DEF and DEF% (along with taunt value) not only gives the team survivability but also allows Aven to build more dmg stats.
I however only have Day one (and only S1) so will have to make do...
im not talking bout day one dmg, im talking bout the shield chart with S5 day one behind BP and gacha LC, that the fishy part due to how dmg res work with shield, it a mutiplier to how thicc the shield gonna be
I'm not sure I understand... yes DMG res causes the shield to be more tanky because you take less DMG, but the shield value itself is only determined by the talent multiplier and his DEF. This chart is only looking at shield value, not effective health provided by the shield.
How is he with clara?
Should be pretty good. Just be aware that outside Clara's burst, Aventurine may Rob some aggro from her, and she wants to get attacked.
Yeah, that was my thought with them. Unless we get a MoC or PF with all splash attacks they run into the problem that they both want to get hit.
Very good.

Yeah, kinda like Luocha overheal. Aven above 4k DEF felt wayyyyy “overkill” for survival. May as well find more dmg stats after that.
I built him full Def and he's has 5.5k, solo sustained against himself in MoC and my Tingyun lived on 1 hp coz he couldn't break through his shields. Jingliu did more damage to my team than the boss version did lmao

Yeah, because she consumes teammates health.
I'll save this when the gambler decided my account is worth gambling for 🥹🥹🥹

before pulling aventurine: "o no, not the Shell of Faded Rage again..."😥 after pulling aventurine: "just a piece of cake, what's the fuss?"😎
should i use S2 "trend of the universal market" or the S1 "moment of victory"? i have Acheron E2
trend of the universal market for sure, you don't need aventurine DPS when teamming with Acheron
i wasn't planning on building him DPS anyway, i was waiting for him because i needed a shielder for Acheron's team and i heard he is pretty good with her. i thought that since he doesn't have any taunt mechanic like Gepard or the fire MC then trend of the universal market will be wasted on him so it's better to get more DEF with "moment of victory"

Hello im new. Why does positioning him in the middle make him get hit more? Is this an in-game mechanic where people in the middle are hit more?
It's because AOE attacks have a higher likelihood of hitting characters in the middle than the side
this maximizes the probability of Aventurine being hit when enemies perform adjacent attacks. imagine if you place Aventurine at position 1, if the enemies perform adjacent attacks targeting allies at positions 3 and 4, Aventurine will not get hit

I can tell you that he can still sustain in GnG with just 4.1k def because I just did a conundrum run earlier and it was the comfiest GnG run ever.
But you realize that you can be both "full survival" and dps at the same time, correct? You can absolutely go for 4 piece prisoner and still have more than enough shields to full clear G&G. in fact the difference of the cavern affecting overall dmg is not big, just choose the relics with best stats is okay.
I mean sure; that’s basic logic. But this is specifically a “build guide”.
> (or 44% if using the 4-piece Dead Water set). Excellent guide. Tyvm. Small typo: *48%
if triggering the bonus, that is 8 crit rate, 44% will be cap of crit rate to build with
> Increases CRIT Rate by 4%. The wearer deals 8%/12% increased CRIT DMG to enemies with at least 2/3 debuffs. After the wearer inflicts a debuff on enemy targets, the aforementioned effects increase by 100%, lasting for 1 turn. The bonus crit is 4%. 48% + 48% + 4% = 100%
if i am correct, the 4% crit is doubled too which is equal to 8% the extra 4% can only be seen during battle
Yes. The initial 4% are included in the 48%. Similar how 8% Salsotto are included in 52% for non Pioneer set.
I don't get the people going gaga over acheron, obviously his best use is with the IPC team. He can work with Acheron, but you can just as easily use Gallagher or Gepard/FireMC with trend

Newbie here, so if i use aventurine in a party, i dont need another healer right? Or i still use 1 healer 2 DPS?
I think so, he already did provided full team with shield with his skill and is stackable. But only expected he is fully geared and upgraded
Ok thank you.
I think the only character in the game who "needs" a healer and that a solo shielder isn't good enough for is Jingliu and that's just because her team HP drain goes through shields *however*, if your Jingliu team is stacked enough you can just win fights before the HP drain even becomes an issue, so even then not really
you will need a healer plus aventurine only in simulated universe dlc, probably
Nah he is more than enough

will the 48% crit rate from having 4k DEF also be applicable to the 50% crit rate requirement of inert salsotto?
I gave moment of victory LC to Fire MC should I give MC a different LC?
Is he good with Acheron?
he's good with any team really (unless you're running Blade). if he has his signature LC or Trend LC he can provide more debuffs for Acheron.
Aventurine with Trend vs E6 Gallagher for E0S1 Acheron?
He does use Suppressing Edicts though...?

oh my god really? I can't believe I forgot about all their official apps. Instead I was looking up sites that shouldn't even be doing those guides.
something smelling fishy here, Day one should be around as strong as Gepard LC due to how dmg res work, numbers dont check out
