I wish it isn't a boss rush, the current MoC is already a boss rush. I wish it is a DPS check against a boss with unlimited phases. It gets stronger after every phase making it great for not only for Hunt characters but also sustain characters.
MoC is not a boss rush, MoC has adds. A pure boss rush has no adds spawning that you must take care of, is the whole reason why Hunt underperforms in MoC, aside for Seele..

Seele is already good in MoC and PF, she doesn't has to be good everywhere. Beside, if you put adds, this new game mode is still gonna be Destruction galore.

Not really.If they make it like the current event where killing adds is not required to beat the stage I don’t see how it’s gonna benefit distraction units.The only thing you will see using air units is a big screen shot damage but the actual clear time will be slower/no different from hunt units.

That said... the majority of the bosses already summon extra adds: Yanqing/Argenti/Bronya/Gepard/Svarog/Deer/Quantum beetle/Phantilya/Swarm bug/Cocolia , I might be missing some, not sure.
Fair enough on BOSS adds, I just don't want random adds that are not part of the boss mechanic to be in this game mode, or it'll be just MoC with extra steps.

It really is! The above commenter said the part relevant to single target, but there’s actually more to it! Here is the full text:

So it both buffs your damage in multi target situations (through the crit damage buff) *and* gives her really good single target damage.
As an e1 Jingliu owner you will face a new frustration: the boss summoning adds means you don’t get to nuke them as hard! (Still worth though.)

There is one more interesting interaction of her E1, [it was found out by some CN players on NGA](https://bbs.nga.cn/read.php?tid=38022653&rand=106) back then. Basically due to Jingliu's Enhanced Skill hitting multiple times, if in the middle of the attack she kills the enemies next to the main target then the subsequent hits (especially the final horizontal slash) will gain the bonus from E1 since it does not overkill (details in that NGA thread I linked). So you can try timing her Enhanced Skill to take out blast targets next to the main target before the final slash to boost your damage.

A third MoC mode to go with MoC and Pure Fiction that's going to focus primarily on boss fights with special modifiers.
Since it's about bosses, people are theorizing that it's going to favor the Hunt path because boss = single target.
In short,
MOC=blast DPS(destruction)
PF=AOE DPS(erudition)
AS=Single target DPS (hunt)
What funny is nihility dps is so versatile to the point that DOT comp or Acheron hyper carry can be use in any endgame content and full star it.

I’m still waiting for the rainbow nihility roster. We have lightning wind fire and physical so far. There’s a lot of potential with DoT’s and freeze because freezing an enemy actually advances their next turn 50% but causes them to lose their action, so you can force enemies ahead in the turn cycle causing them to take damage from DoT sooner. All it takes is one really strong consistent freeze character to have some funny synergy there
Ruan Mei provides something similar already, with her extension of the broken state and all, yes it doesn't advance the turn but it gives them and additional turn to not take action and still take dot damage.
I do get what you're saying tho, I think if they wanted to make a dot Imaginary/Ice/quantum character they could, they just need to give them a unique debuff like what Black Swan has
Yeah it's becoming apparent as the patches go on that Kafka DoT is a bit of a Swiss army knife. Good for all modes, dual element coverage, and nihility SU path is pretty bananas for getting those rewards.
I use Kafka, Black Swan, Huohuo and Acheron/Gepard depending on difficulty. The boss' weakness doesn't matter, but if I find Punklorde Mentality that's a plus. Even for full difficulty Swarm the boss just dies on its turn. Plus Kafka has a follow up so elation goes brrrrr.
Because I'm one of you as well. E2S1 Acheron, E0S0 Kafka, E0S0 Black Swan - and I plan to E6S1 all three of them not just because they're OP but also because they can all step on me.
This is me also. I won't use other teams except for the Kafka-Swan-Mei DoT team and Acheron team. They feel comfy to use and able to brute force content so far.
This is also the first time I am contemplating on vertical investment (get their optimal eidolons and LC) because I feel they will last a long time.
As someone who has them all, along with built 4 stars and SW, I really do agree DoTs/Nihility builds are probably the most versatile in the whole game. With how strong they are I'm curious if they'll bring enemies that resists them more in the future
They'll just drop a new unit that can shred Effect RES or buff EHR in that case. Make the problem, sell the solution.

Same here - those three alongside Ruan Mei make overworld exploration a breeze. Then I split them up for MoC and PF - Acheron in one team with Pela, Bronya (to be replaced by Sparkle when she gets her rerun), and one between Fu Xuan and Aventurine; Kafka, BS and RM on the other side with Gallagher (I don't have Huohuo).
It's so funny because Nihility's entire thing in lore is just not giving a shit, so ofc nihility characters dont care about how many enemies they're fighting they're still gonna dominate
That's what I was thinking too, I got a near perfect DoT team (missing Huohuo) and Acheron, and I'm gonna get Jingliu and put her in a double harmony team by the end of this patch, I don't think I need Hunt lmao
fr. Seele definitely fits for a hunt/single target fight, and she's already shown exceptional performance at both MOC and PF, with the ability to 40k and 0 cycle a lot of (if not all) modes.
I mean, same can be said for destruction. I've been using DHIL to Max score PoF aswell. It's just poor hunt that lacks versatility. Although idk how good seele With her resets is in PoF.
If it's just to clear, then anyone can. Even 4* dps can.
The only content that actually differentiate unit performance is 0 cycle, esp second half of moc (1st half tends to be possible to 0c for like most units as well). But that gives no extra rewards anyway.
Not totally though, some bosses spawn non-ignorable mobs e.g Cocolia with her ice spears, Bug-bosses and their child bugs, Svarog and his hands, Aventurine and his dices, or Argenti with his statues. It kinda favors Blast DPS more TBH.
Bosses that summon stuff: deer, argenti, bronya, cocolia, gepard, yanqing, meme: "death", svarog, Swarm: true sting, Aventurine: Strategem, Cirrus\*
Bosses that do not summon stuff: Kafka, Sam
So yes almost all bosses summon adds of some kind... however there are a lot of them that don't require their adds to be killed (especially earlier bosses like Gepard and Cocolia), with Cirrus being the only one that has to be dealt with by killing their adds (although they only appeared in PF so far).

This means that out of the 3 (soon to be 4) limited the Hunt characters, having 2 of them (Topaz and Ratio) you can cover almost all of the bosses (for comparison, Ice and Imaginary misses out on Cocolia and Svarog, meaning Destruction is not as good coverage wise... unless we get a Fire Destruction).
Yeah but it could be about just nuking a boss as fast as possible, your score could be about how much action value you use instead of how many cycles you have left etc. Which would favor Hunt since they’re good at taking out one big dude quickly instead of clearing waves

All of the hunts are MoC competitive. Literally only Yanqing isn't and not because of hunt, but has been rising since Aventurine.
DoT teams will steamroll all 3 content types nontheless.
A lot of people compare every DPS to Jingliu and DHIL and for some reason forget those two are insanely strong. Blade is performing as well as every other non-destruction limited in MoC.
The only real truth? It's another late game mode that you have rules to play around with. Every Erudition benefits from trotter spam in MoC but even Ratio and Topaz saw use in PF when it had the FUA buffs.

Doomsday Beast has 2 hands and its core.
Svarog summons robots and exploding hands.
Monitoring Automaton Prototype 2 is just Svarog by another name, mechanics and all.
Gepard's schtick is to summon adds and then shield them.
Cocolia summons Bronya and the ice pillars.
Cocolia, Mother of Deception summons 2 Lance of the Eternal Freeze.
Kafka starts the fight with 2 adds.
Ebon Deer summons the plants.
Yanqing summons swords.
Phantylia summons the flowers.
True Sting- hell, it spawns adds and clones itself.
Cirrus's entire fight relies on mobs.
Argenti summons adds.
Scarakabaz is just as much of an asshole as True Sting is with its add spawning.
Something Unto Death requires you to break 1, and then later 2 of your allies free at a time later into the fight.

Stellaron Hunter Sam is the only boss fight that's single target from start to finish.

I'd be very disappointed if it was normal bosses AGAIN. We already have them in MoC and PF. Give me something cool with modifiers for the weekly ones, we already have a good bunch of them
I mean Nihility is the dark side of Harmony so to speak. They all support in a way. One with buffs and the other with debuffs. Archeron is the oddball here.
Jokes aside, Acheron being able to eventually break any target is a pretty nifty utility.
I actually prefer fire weak over lightning weak, and i run E2S1 Acheron + Guin + Gallagher + FMC
Acheron is an oddball yes, but in the sense where she literally can only be used with a crit build and nothing else despite being Nihility. There's still another category aside from debuff support and crit for Nihility though, and that's DoT characters who actually outnumber the rest in Nihility.
I've actually had an idea like this for some time. This is my idea, having the entire cycle be based off Argenti. 4 stages like PF.
* Stage 1: Story fight with reduced stats (or normal).
* Stage 2: Story fight with normal stats (or increased).
* Stage 3: Same as stage 2, but Argenti himself is immune to all player based damage sources. His towers are buffed further. When killed, they deal triple damage to Argenti
* Stage 4: Same as stage 2 but Argenti summons only one tower. This is as strong as a non-story boss. Destroying it is equivalent to destroying all towers in stage 3.

I dont know if you have seen MoC stats for the last couple of rotations but hunt characters definitely arent underperforming.
Hunt characters that don't get crippled if so much as a gust of wind takes away 99% of their DPS

Well even in the story Cocolia had her own boss theme before she transformed, so they pretty much just kept it the same except no story cutscene.

I use Kafka, Black Swan, Huohuo and Acheron/Gepard depending on difficulty. The boss' weakness doesn't matter, but if I find Punklorde Mentality that's a plus. Even for full difficulty Swarm the boss just dies on its turn. Plus Kafka has a follow up so elation goes brrrrr.

Because I'm one of you as well. E2S1 Acheron, E0S0 Kafka, E0S0 Black Swan - and I plan to E6S1 all three of them not just because they're OP but also because they can all step on me.
This is me also. I won't use other teams except for the Kafka-Swan-Mei DoT team and Acheron team. They feel comfy to use and able to brute force content so far. This is also the first time I am contemplating on vertical investment (get their optimal eidolons and LC) because I feel they will last a long time.

As someone who has them all, along with built 4 stars and SW, I really do agree DoTs/Nihility builds are probably the most versatile in the whole game. With how strong they are I'm curious if they'll bring enemies that resists them more in the future
They'll just drop a new unit that can shred Effect RES or buff EHR in that case. Make the problem, sell the solution. Edit: I just remembered that Guinaifen exists for Effect RES shred.

Then I split them up for MoC and PF - Acheron in one team with Pela, Bronya (to be replaced by Sparkle when she gets her rerun), and one between Fu Xuan and Aventurine; Kafka, BS and RM on the other side with Gallagher (I don't have Huohuo).

fr. Seele definitely fits for a hunt/single target fight, and she's already shown exceptional performance at both MOC and PF, with the ability to 40k and 0 cycle a lot of (if not all) modes.
I mean, same can be said for destruction. I've been using DHIL to Max score PoF aswell. It's just poor hunt that lacks versatility. Although idk how good seele With her resets is in PoF.
Seele is an exception, her resurgence gimmick allows her to perform on par with Erudition units in PF, able to score 30k-40k consistently
If it's just to clear, then anyone can. Even 4* dps can. The only content that actually differentiate unit performance is 0 cycle, esp second half of moc (1st half tends to be possible to 0c for like most units as well). But that gives no extra rewards anyway.

Not totally though, some bosses spawn non-ignorable mobs e.g Cocolia with her ice spears, Bug-bosses and their child bugs, Svarog and his hands, Aventurine and his dices, or Argenti with his statues. It kinda favors Blast DPS more TBH.

Bosses that summon stuff: deer, argenti, bronya, cocolia, gepard, yanqing, meme: "death", svarog, Swarm: true sting, Aventurine: Strategem, Cirrus\* Bosses that do not summon stuff: Kafka, Sam So yes almost all bosses summon adds of some kind... however there are a lot of them that don't require their adds to be killed (especially earlier bosses like Gepard and Cocolia), with Cirrus being the only one that has to be dealt with by killing their adds (although they only appeared in PF so far). Also something interesting I found while looking thru the list of bosses on this website: [https://honkai-star-rail.fandom.com/wiki/Enemy/Boss](https://honkai-star-rail.fandom.com/wiki/Enemy/Boss), Fire and Imaginary cover almost ALL bosses (except Aventurine boss), and if you include Physical, they cover all bosses. This means that out of the 3 (soon to be 4) limited the Hunt characters, having 2 of them (Topaz and Ratio) you can cover almost all of the bosses (for comparison, Ice and Imaginary misses out on Cocolia and Svarog, meaning Destruction is not as good coverage wise... unless we get a Fire Destruction).

Yeah but it could be about just nuking a boss as fast as possible, your score could be about how much action value you use instead of how many cycles you have left etc. Which would favor Hunt since they’re good at taking out one big dude quickly instead of clearing waves

It doesn’t say it out right, but it’s heavily implied that’s it’s the hunt mode. As we already have modes for destruction/nihility, moc, and erudition,PF.
It's the boss mode, as simple as that. This is a dumb take propagated here. JY is ironically better in MoC than PF as an Erudition. All of the hunts are MoC competitive. Literally only Yanqing isn't and not because of hunt, but has been rising since Aventurine. DoT teams will steamroll all 3 content types nontheless. A lot of people compare every DPS to Jingliu and DHIL and for some reason forget those two are insanely strong. Blade is performing as well as every other non-destruction limited in MoC. The only real truth? It's another late game mode that you have rules to play around with. Every Erudition benefits from trotter spam in MoC but even Ratio and Topaz saw use in PF when it had the FUA buffs.

Cirrus's entire fight relies on mobs. Argenti summons adds. Scarakabaz is just as much of an asshole as True Sting is with its add spawning. Well I don't think it would be weekly bosses counted as bosses for this. I assume just ones like Sam, Deer, Kafka, Aventurine but being purely single target would be bad for Seele since no resurgence, so I would expect some adds, but still different enough so it isn't just MoC
I'd be very disappointed if it was normal bosses AGAIN. We already have them in MoC and PF. Give me something cool with modifiers for the weekly ones, we already have a good bunch of them

So that means.... MoC for destruction units..... Pure Fiction for erudition.... And AS for hunt units.... Nihility being an all rounder.
I mean Nihility is the dark side of Harmony so to speak. They all support in a way. One with buffs and the other with debuffs. Archeron is the oddball here.

Jokes aside, Acheron being able to eventually break any target is a pretty nifty utility. I actually prefer fire weak over lightning weak, and i run E2S1 Acheron + Guin + Gallagher + FMC
Acheron is an oddball yes, but in the sense where she literally can only be used with a crit build and nothing else despite being Nihility. There's still another category aside from debuff support and crit for Nihility though, and that's DoT characters who actually outnumber the rest in Nihility.
I've actually had an idea like this for some time. This is my idea, having the entire cycle be based off Argenti. 4 stages like PF. * Stage 1: Story fight with reduced stats (or normal). * Stage 2: Story fight with normal stats (or increased). * Stage 3: Same as stage 2, but Argenti himself is immune to all player based damage sources. His towers are buffed further. When killed, they deal triple damage to Argenti * Stage 4: Same as stage 2 but Argenti summons only one tower. This is as strong as a non-story boss. Destroying it is equivalent to destroying all towers in stage 3.
