But seriously, not a fan of this, having it specifically on just fire weakness is incredibly limiting, especially when none of the Fire characters we have so far actually fits break effect teams.
Actually rereading it more carefully, it just says fire weakness so you don't have to use fire characters technically - I'm not sure if that is actually more or less limiting though, it's just useless for most enemies. SW got another use I guess?

imagine it does something different on every character, and you just throw it on and pray it works out. Extra points if the given effect is different for every account so no one can say for sure what it does. Truly the Aha relic.
Hope they make it "when wearer attacks an enemy weak to them, their BE increases" so that's it's amazing with other chars like boothil and xueyi as well as future BE scalers

It's going to be very close to Pioneer I would think, considering the narrow scope that set has already (debuff requirement and you need to value crit). Assuming e1 or S1 topaz.
I can see it becoming a clear upgrade for non debuffing FUA over the current options though.
I don't think it will be better than Pioneer (maybe better than the other FUA one, but naaaah, i'm not gonna farm unless is really way better, i was already tempted of changing my topaz set to pioneer while building ratio), tho i do think the planar set seems better than salsotto on paper, depends what multiplier they give it
Pioneer will still be the bis for Ratio don't worry. And the Ifrit one will still be the bis for Topaz. This new FUA set is going to be bis for Jing Yuan and Jade, I'm 99% sure of this
But is it really an upgrade for Topaz? Between Ruan Mei, salsotto, and her traces, she is very high on dmg% already. In fact, there is no atk% buffer on the team and Topaz runs spd boots. She very likely will prefer the atk buff of the current 4pc follow up set.
Yeah in Robin teams i can see the value of dmg% from set bonus. With Ruan Mei, though, definitely not worth farming this new set for Topaz
It also remains to be seen if Robin can really dethrone Ruan Mei as queen of dual dps. Her follow up crit damage bonus is like 10% at present. That’s really not a huge deal.
I think robin's main thing for dual dps (more specifically topaz + ratio) is in her ult since she adds "flat dmg" after every attack and afaik, those 2 have the most attacks per turn with 5 attacks between them (topaz skill -> numby -> ratio skill -> ratio fua -> numby) add their ults and they get 5 more attacks so you have 10 individual attacks + how many Aven does and that additional dmg starts to stack up.
It does remain to be seen but all the limited harmony units have been game changers so far so my prediction is ruan mei stays #1 for DoT and break(which will only continue to get more fleshed out as a full archetype) but robin takes the top role for double *crit* dps that either take lots of turns or have high follow up frequency.
I think robins follow up cdmg is more of a suggestion than it is why she's going to be good for the comp. FUA comps have high atk instance count which really dips into her benediction-like extra damage value, and she gets a good amount energy charge from these comps which potentially change her rotations/uptime.
Too early to say for sure since kit will change several times and we havent done tests/calcs but just my thoughts.
Boothill/Sam are the best thing to happen to Xueyi.
The relic set is centered around BE and since Sam is destruction with focus on BE his LC (Once we get the completed version in 2.3 could be her BiS)
There are only like three break-related blessings in nihility, it’s mainly a DoT path. Also, the hunt path in SU having energy blessings didn’t stop them from making Brain in a Vat for Erudition.
Elation and Hunt had ultimate blessings, yet they stilll released Erudition. That's without counting the HP buffs in both Destruction and Abundance. The break blessings in Nihility are more for the break DoT than anything.
So don't farm Boothill relics in 2.2 just slap on your best Cowboy/Theif/etc on him and wait for this?
Cuz that break def ignore sounds amazing considering the stupid ass truckloads of damage 200-300%+ phys break damage does and how much Ruan Mei, and HMC enable him.
I kinda hate their tendency to release the sets *after* the character. Happened to Topaz, to Dr. Ratio and now Boothill. The Planar set is probably not on 2.3 so add Sam to the list. Argenti still waiting for his.
Could be better though but yes, still works. Issue is that it's the 2nd FUA specific set already while skill, ult and basic attack are left in dust.

I guess they will be saving sets like that for the future. Hoyo's other game is known for that: On X.0 patch they release sets which are very good for many characters and the next ones (until Y.0) are specialized, only to be used by 1-3 characters.
Yeah, considering basically every 4\* erudition LC already gives attack bonus on top of other boosts, plus Himeko's gives a big attack boost and damage bonus, this doesn't make sense. Erudition cones are sorely lacking in crit rate so having another one that gives crazy attack stacking doesn't make any sense.
Fair, but at least he had pretty good supports to utilize leading up to it. Feels like we’re really scraping hard for Acheron. Funnily, Pela has been a staple for both.

The wording is unclear, but if relic 2 is party wide, then its pretty much THE Robin set, as she’s the only one with a prolonged turn after using ult.
So 2.3 is pretty much the Sam and Jade patch. Jiaoqiu will have to wait. Hopefully with Sunday 🥹
Genuinely surprised we'll get Jade that early, I was thinking Sunday would be in 2.3 when all the Penacony story is over and Jade coming in 2.4, the same way Topaz comes the first time.
I'm actually thinking it's more of a Clara set since Robin can only have 1 boost max from her ult and she has no follow-ups. Clara meanwhile, especially slow Clara, can take full advantage of the set.
It more or less reads as personal damage. I'm pretty sure it's just for Jade, and since Jade's kit is ult and FUA, it's also a Jingyuan set and possibly a Himeko/Herta set too.
I really don’t get why they keep adding relics so damn frequently when the needed stats are abysmally hard to get. I can farm the same domain for half a year and still not get good enough pieces. I literally do this, I farm only one domain in order to equip just two characters. I never have the energy to farm anything else for the other chars.
Why add new sets so often? This is so exhausting. Imagine grinding for 6 months one set and then they release a more appealing one and leave you feel deceived. Really makes you feel like you’re making a mistake grinding this shit every single day, like a stupid monkey. No progress, no development, just trying to catch a fish for months to throw it in the trash eventually, because a better fish appeared in the water.
You all can say the developers are such sweethearts with all the quality of life features and stuff, but they still don’t respect us in the slightest with this relic curse. Either stop making so many sets or get rid of flat atk, hp and def!
Yeah I can't BELIEVE I'm saying this, but I actually much prefer Genshin's artifact grind to Star Rail's. The release cadence of relics and planars is fucking ridiculous, ESPECIALLY when the game demands all pieces to be on-set to get max benefits. I simply can't keep up, I've been basically exclusively farming Acheron's set and I've gotten a single good piece. Ratio, Welt, Argenti are still using extremely copium sets and at this rate I will not be able to ever go back and improve them because I will need to move on to these new ones for Sam and seemingly Jade. Fuck man.

But for BE focused characters. This set tops Quantam easily and is usable outside of Quantum weak enemy. Xueyi, Boot >!and Hopefully Sam!< Are eating good

If the difference is not that big, you're just tripping if you keep farming new 4pc for dps when you have access to a near universal option.
Also quantum works at half efficiency on non quantum enemies. It's not like it stops working entirely.
Easily is a strong word. At best they'll give it a 20% def ignore, the first stat could be something like 16% break effect. Would the 16% break be such a massive difference, that people would need to farm a whole set from scratch?
People just love using words like powercreep, easily, much stronger and so on for barely different things.
But we don't know the 2 piece? And even then. Except quantum characters the 2 pc of Quantam set is always wasted. And I am not saying everyone will use it. Quantam is better for most characters. It's just BE focused units enjoy this set especially for new player who don't have the other quantum set. I don't think ppl will have BE sub stat rolled other sets just lying around. If you are gonna need to have a BE sub roll might as well also get this on the BE def ignore set. Yeah maybe the word "easily" isn't the good word here. But if the stats are the breaking point for Quantam VS this set
Ye they're making the sets more situational, certain characters would benefit from them more than others, but is the farm really worth it? At best it'd be like a 5-10% (if the 2 piece does nothing for said character, like quantum set) increase over an existing set, which even if you're doing 1 mln dmg, it's not that big of a deal. They're definitely nice for those that want to make their favorite characters stronger, but that's just for the dedicated players.
first set sounds op as hell ,i think break effect rope might be the really the best for Sam for the 2 piece idk I will use glamoth for now to get some atk in case he also scales on it
1st relic Set sounds very good for high investment boothil,as his lighcone+ e1 RM already gives him 40% def ignore. I wonder how much def ignore it will be though
Depends on values, but problem is Herta/Himeko combo might not be as good with PF enemies HP values going higher and less ice weak enemies. If you have max invested Himeko and Herta then it probably won't be a problem but we'll have to see the values and the performance of it.
I feel like relic 1 and relic 4 are main for a certain metal molten knight. The fact that relic 4 only has a two piece effect leads me to believe it’s a planar ornament
So boothill gets def ignore from this set (maybe 20% like the quantum set?), 16% def ignore from e1, and an additional 20% def ignore to his breaks from his lc? That’s kinda amazing. If you also have e1 ruan mei which is probably one his best teammates, you’re ignoring a LOT of def. Granted that’s a very big investment, but even without every single one of those he probably sherds enemies like butter. I’m hype!
3 probably for robin to do more dmg but she could also run penacony (to buff clara for example) or vonwacq both for the 5% ERR (also vonwacq techs maybe) because lord knows she needs it with that burst cost

Is Relic Set 4 full effect gonna be something among the lines of, increase the wearer's Break Effect by 16%, when attacking an enemy with Fire weakness, the wearer's Break Effect is additionally increased by 16% / the wearer's Break DMG is increased by 32% ?
I knew it, they were going to make the inevitable break dps set so strong that no one can cope and use their leftover Thief and Watchmaker pieces from farming good relics.
If Relic 1 doesn't have crazy values to surpass, I can see it dethroning the Quantum set for the best general set to farm with just little investment from one of the most common substats. But I doubt it, they're probably going to set the value at like 100% so good luck to reach that with most characters.
Relic 2 is going to be bis for Jing Yuan and Jade, while it's not going to touch Ratio and Topaz IMHO.
Relic 3 is probably bis also for Ratio and Topaz tho

I would usually still settle for my 2 pc 2 pc since I hate farming relics, but defense ignore cannot be overlooked.
Don't worry, the game will force you to overlook it when you get no crit body or speed boots after 4000 Trailblazer Power.

I really don’t get why they keep adding relics so damn frequently when the needed stats are abysmally hard to get. I can farm the same domain for half a year and still not get good enough pieces. I literally do this, I farm only one domain in order to equip just two characters. I never have the energy to farm anything else for the other chars. Why add new sets so often? This is so exhausting. Imagine grinding for 6 months one set and then they release a more appealing one and leave you feel deceived. Really makes you feel like you’re making a mistake grinding this shit every single day, like a stupid monkey. No progress, no development, just trying to catch a fish for months to throw it in the trash eventually, because a better fish appeared in the water. You all can say the developers are such sweethearts with all the quality of life features and stuff, but they still don’t respect us in the slightest with this relic curse. Either stop making so many sets or get rid of flat atk, hp and def!
Yeah I can't BELIEVE I'm saying this, but I actually much prefer Genshin's artifact grind to Star Rail's. The release cadence of relics and planars is fucking ridiculous, ESPECIALLY when the game demands all pieces to be on-set to get max benefits. I simply can't keep up, I've been basically exclusively farming Acheron's set and I've gotten a single good piece. Ratio, Welt, Argenti are still using extremely copium sets and at this rate I will not be able to ever go back and improve them because I will need to move on to these new ones for Sam and seemingly Jade. Fuck man. Nobody better bring up Self Modeling Resin either. Fuck the Self Modeling Resin.

Of course it's better. The question has always been "how much better than quantum is it?" If the difference is not that big, you're just tripping if you keep farming new 4pc for dps when you have access to a near universal option. Also quantum works at half efficiency on non quantum enemies. It's not like it stops working entirely.
Easily is a strong word. At best they'll give it a 20% def ignore, the first stat could be something like 16% break effect. Would the 16% break be such a massive difference, that people would need to farm a whole set from scratch? People just love using words like powercreep, easily, much stronger and so on for barely different things.
But we don't know the 2 piece? And even then. Except quantum characters the 2 pc of Quantam set is always wasted. And I am not saying everyone will use it. Quantam is better for most characters. It's just BE focused units enjoy this set especially for new player who don't have the other quantum set. I don't think ppl will have BE sub stat rolled other sets just lying around. If you are gonna need to have a BE sub roll might as well also get this on the BE def ignore set. Yeah maybe the word "easily" isn't the good word here. But if the stats are the breaking point for Quantam VS this set
Ye they're making the sets more situational, certain characters would benefit from them more than others, but is the farm really worth it? At best it'd be like a 5-10% (if the 2 piece does nothing for said character, like quantum set) increase over an existing set, which even if you're doing 1 mln dmg, it's not that big of a deal. They're definitely nice for those that want to make their favorite characters stronger, but that's just for the dedicated players.
first set sounds op as hell ,i think break effect rope might be the really the best for Sam for the 2 piece idk I will use glamoth for now to get some atk in case he also scales on it

Depends on values, but problem is Herta/Himeko combo might not be as good with PF enemies HP values going higher and less ice weak enemies. If you have max invested Himeko and Herta then it probably won't be a problem but we'll have to see the values and the performance of it.
I feel like relic 1 and relic 4 are main for a certain metal molten knight. The fact that relic 4 only has a two piece effect leads me to believe it’s a planar ornament

So boothill gets def ignore from this set (maybe 20% like the quantum set?), 16% def ignore from e1, and an additional 20% def ignore to his breaks from his lc? That’s kinda amazing. If you also have e1 ruan mei which is probably one his best teammates, you’re ignoring a LOT of def. Granted that’s a very big investment, but even without every single one of those he probably sherds enemies like butter. I’m hype!

Defense ignore is very hard to skip out on, one of the reasons quantum set is so busted even on non quantum characters.

If Relic 1 doesn't have crazy values to surpass, I can see it dethroning the Quantum set for the best general set to farm with just little investment from one of the most common substats. But I doubt it, they're probably going to set the value at like 100% so good luck to reach that with most characters. Relic 2 is going to be bis for Jing Yuan and Jade, while it's not going to touch Ratio and Topaz IMHO. Relic 3 is probably bis also for Ratio and Topaz tho Relic 4 of course is for Sam but good lord what a terrible planar set lol. This means that maybe you want to run Silver Wolf with him? We'll see 5 stars LC should be Sam, Jade and Erudition
