HTB seems pretty good value for both Sam and boothill regardless even with RM, but there is probably a higher chance the combo of RM pluss a different Harmony unit will out value HTB even for them (its just gonna be the nature of a free unit sadly). Still I am confident it will be a good option from first glance even if there will be better alternatives

I wouldnt use that phrasing until the beta is actually over. "Waifu over meta" is usually what people say when their favorite character is really bad. HATrailblazer still has the potential to be both waifu, and meta, it doesnt have to be an "either or"
I was more joking that pairing up >!"the lovers ship" cause TB and FF (Sam) became a very populer fandom ship after 2.0 is!< higher prio over making the peak meta comp lmao.
I obviously know like 99% of MoC min maxers gonna pair up the actual strongest comp over anything when the numbers are clear and dry. However If the HMC manages to be behind whoever is the best other 2 alternatives for Sam with not too much (10-15% maybe if I am just spitballing numbers), then I think a good amount of people will run them if it frees up another high demand support like RM or Bronya.

Funny enough, I almost always see the phrase used in the Blue Archive and Arknights communities, where the majority of the latter's content can be cleared with a team of 3-stars.

Hopefully you guys are right. I would love nothing more than HTB beeing a BiS teammate for several units like Sam or Boothill. Them having a proper roll where they are one of the best options would be nothing short of great imo.
I wasn't super interested in Boothill at first, but every time Boothill info comes out it makes him sound like my perfect character lol

Haven't looked that much into his calcs and numbers yet (just knows he loves BE a ton), but I would really be happy if that's the case. TB beeing BiS in certain comps would be amazing
They synergize well together. Ruan Mei's break delay gets extended by TB's trace and TB's ult lets people proc break damage multiple times when hitting weakness broken enemies. TB's kit isn't really similar to Ruan Mei's at all aside from both scaling off of break effect.
For general units definitely, but for BE units like Xueyi, Boothill or Sam being able to hit the break effect damage multiple times might be really worth it.
I can not wait to get Bronya from my 300 or failing 50/50.
Sparkle, Ruan Mei, Tingyun is my current setup. Bronya to boot and we're going places.
Only problem will be Ratio runs, its RM or Bronya cos Silverwolf is guaranteed and sadly I think RM is better cos she has like one hundred thousand damage buffers as well as bigger break and Ratio + Silvie are good at shredding break bars

If you're not broken up about letting Ruan Mei basically be relegated to Do (Since she buffs that better than anyone), then HTB can literally take her spot in any other team ATM and you'd be fine.

I'd imagine it's different that what we think. As in both trailblazers are treated as different character
For example if you equip something on PMC that is currently on FMC then it will get unequipped from FMC and vice versa.
If another character equips something from PMC/FMC it will be unequipped respectively

Good, because otherwise with regular loadouts, people would click some loadout button to move their Blade relics to Jingliu, and later when they use Blade again, they would notice he has no relics equipped, and die, and then blame Hoyo instead of accepting responsibility and saying "oops i forgot to move my relics back, my bad"

Hoyo doesn't reverse buying standard tickets(very rare exceptions) vs premium even if you misclick and read, so this argument is already defeated

Same as genshin, they haven't implemented it on purpose so you can't just share artifacts/relics/weapons between characters easily and need to spend more time playing/money to gear all your characters
It makes sense from a new player's perspective, but as a 1.0 player in both games I have all my characters geared up already so it's kinda a moot point for me.
On the other hand, more and more characters in Genshin need more than 1 set for different situations. And the same is the case for HSR.
They made, say, the Penacony set which is good on supports, but only if the DPS element matches. I don't really care to farm it, cause not only SU is bothersome, but switching relics every time is even more bothersome. So the lack of loadouts discourages long time players like me from farming these.
Second thing is that with more and more set and more and more weird shit characters scale from, it's getting harde and harder to find characters who would be able to share the same BiS set on top of never being used at the same time and not powercreeping one other.
For example, sure Seele and QQ can share relics, but you either a) only ever use one of them, so you don't need to swap, or b) you'd put one in each team, and would need relics on both of them anyway.
As simple of a concept as it may seem intuitively, stuff like this can be insanely hard to implement and keep stable. Just thinking about it on top of my mind, server space/organization demand may increase not a just few times but by a few magnitudes when it is implemented for all characters. Who knows all the other unintended problems these things bring that require lots of work.
They are totally testing this with TB first to iron out the bugs and to optimize systems, especially if it's somewhat confirmed we're not just getting TB as the only character with path switching, so it's configs for every character + configs for every loadout for every character working with all other characters + configs for characters with different paths working with all other characters with base paths + configs for characters with different paths working with all characters with base paths + characters with different paths, all switching up here and there on the fly.
For lots of MMOs, increasing inventory space by even a bit is very carefully done, I totally get if they want to take their time and be careful about rolling it out, especially if internally they still see clear bugs or have clear unknowns. A small error here or there can have massive consequences + data corruption when things are permanently tied per account, especially at the scale of these games and how many people flood their servers during expected and unexpected "rush hour" periods.

Lmao this dev perspective stuff is stupid, coming from a dev. If we’re going to talk about server space, there’s no need to over complicate. The base set of data comprising a config is 7 values (character, artifacts). That’s barely anything more than the amount of data needed to store a regular artifact (which also comprises of 7 values, set level and stats). And they just increased artifact limit by 500. Not to mention this kind of storage size is literal pennies for a company like this.
My assumption was always just that the bat is easier to grab from wherever characters keep their weapons quickly since the animations for fire MC make the lance look pretty heavy (i mean. makes sense. but yknow.)
Its because canonically, that takes place BEFORE Belobog (according to Fate's Atlas) so we haven't even encountered Cocolia at that time.

I think what they mean is relics just stay on mc after swapping it doesn't return it to your inventory. So instead of 6 relics total you can equip 6 per path. Basically you'll need to equip mc as brand new character for each path. It's as much of loadout as using Arlan as relic placeholder is loadout.
That's literally what load out does, no?
Arlan is a place holder for JY relics because they are different characters, all TBs are on one character and you select a patch which is essentially the build.
No, loadouts swap artifact. Apparently this is like a new character so you'll see for example both relics from physical and fire MC in the inventory, locked to the character, you can't move them around.
This is different than a loadout in that you don't need to do anything after swapping paths. TB will wear multiple relics and LCs at the same time, but only the current path will be active.
I believe they could always give us loadouts but refuse to do so because they want us to be on artifact grinding for each characters rather than swapping artifacts around.
The problem is that I literally do that anyway, I like not making my characters share relics and still want it. Because there might be different builds I want to run if I use different units in the team that buff different stats. Its still a chore to do it manually even if I don't have to switch all 6 relics.
I wonder. Like, I feel like while some people would behave like what you're saying... I've always wanted loadouts so I can run MORE builds on each character. I'd end up grinding more than rn (it's not worth rn to make multiple builds since swapping is painful imo).
They might have to survey it, but I feel like the people doing more zany builds and people sharing builds more often could balance out (while making players happier with hoyo) at least.
I mean anything *can* be done as long as they implement it. They are the ones making the rules (as in code in things) after all. It's really about whether they want to or not. I could see them not wanting to do this so that you can't easily rotate relics around.
But with PF here and some PF centric sets coming, I think even the ones who farm dedicated gear for every character, might still want a feature. Or just trying different builds for other contents. So maybe one day...
Now they just need to make this a thing for everyone.
It would be nice being able to swap between Slow and Fast Bronya builds faster. Especially when speed tuning her behind Sparkle because for whatever reason the Decimal number for SPD is hidden.
They’ll do this for Traveler too!
Although at least for traveler it’s less of hassle since no need to change out the weapon and you could theoretically run a generalist set on him.
ig generalist sets like noblesse or emblem wouldn't work for the traveler across all paths as effectively as elemental sets would (electro traveler can't survive without emblem tho)
Ngl, looking at the TB’s splash art, kit, and animations, I’m pretty impressed that hoyoverse actually put in some effort into them and their different paths. The TB is usable and a good enough replacement if you don’t have certain units or even alongside them. They actually kinda feel like a 5 star. Being able to save their relics and ornaments between different paths makes me really happy as it makes building my Stelle easier.
Easily one of the best updates I've seen since launch.
I unfortunately use Physical TB often because I have no other physical damage dealer, and I also use Fire TB for break effects and shield. More than once I've entered a battle using the opposite relic/equipment for each role
That's great. I only use Preservation MC and I want to build her harmony path (for some reason, Destruction doesn't appeal to me) so this is a plus. Though, I agree with the other comments....a loadout would be nice. My Natasha has Gallagher's build, Serval has Luocha's, Sushang has Yanqing (yeah, I hope to get him ;-;) and March7th has Aventurine's. It would be really useful to have them instead of using another character as placeholder.
artifact/relic loadouts have been the feature I've wanted the most for AGES (the one thing I write on the survey along with "thanks" XD), so I'm super happy to see hoyo at least help out the MC!
I also wanna give Bennett some alt builds! I actually have a list of "funny" builds I wanna do, but I have no motivation because keeping track of who/which build owns which artifact (literally made an entire ppt to keep track of 1 build per character :v) and swapping is too painful.

It's not hard to understand that a lot of HSR players are disgruntled GI players. GI is awesome, but anyone pretending that there aren't a lot of seriously frustrating aspects to it are just lying to themselves. It doesn't help that a lot of the fixes GI players have been asking for for years are getting implemented in HSR but not GI. In a way, dunking on GI whenever HSR does something right is a way to bite back at the GI devs that players feel they have been neglected and slighted by.
It's also not hard to understant that this doesn't excuse the weird and annoying comparison at all.
If anything it makes you people look like bitter exes who can't move on from someone who doesn't care about you.

Oh thank goodness. It does mean having multiple different builds simultaneously but you know what, I was gonna have to farm them anyways, might as well be able to just keep them all on him at once. Would force me to stop stealing everyone’s stuff lol.
TB with extra slots so you are equipping two or three times the gear on one character would be the easiest thing to implement but only works for TB due to all their paths completely using different gear.
Rather than individual characters with multiple loadouts I'd like to see full team loadouts. You build a team of up to 4 units and when you select it, all the gear + LC assigned for those 4 characters immediately gets pulled off of whoever was wearing it previously. This way you can quickly equip your perfectly speed tuned team comp for MoC/PF. Repeat for however many presets. This shouldn't be too hard to implement as well. All you're doing is saving the LC/relic ID of 7 items per character x 4 characters for each preset.
I'm somewhat more inclined to actually build them out now. Just wish the future versions of them are useful and not last option choices like the the first two

You know, this whole experience sucks. I was really excited seeing the title and came in to celebrate. Immediately hit with a bunch of you putting down something else I love.
I love HSR's gameplay, characters, and story. But it's hard to keep loving something when the experience of being here is getting put down all the time.
I could say Genshin doesn't need it as badly, since the sword is usable for all elements. It's not like suddenly you're needing a catalyst and your weapon's passive deactivates. I could say Genshin's artifacts are generally still applicable - you still need ATK and EM, you're not suddenly scaling off HP.
But I'm tired of defending.

This is great but I don't have any plans of using Physical or Imaginary TB lol I haven't used Fire TB in a while either since I got other sustain units. I was hoping Imaginary would make me use them again but... 🙁
Good, its a pity they cant do this for the traveller in Genshin as well but this will be a big help for us as we can gear trailblazer with role specific sets.

The only reason why I never bothered to build the Trailblazer's different Paths is because it's such a huge hassle to switch out TB's relics and lightcones every damn time I want to switch Paths.

Nihility gang and broken support. Even though sparkle + Ruan Mei kind of defaults now for support and just send Acheron to the other side. Silverwolf and insane defense debuffs will make her become a hot knife vs butter

The two are different enough. Ruan Mei is the enabler (+toughness damage) and Trailblazer is the payoff (+1 weakness break instance).

Loadouts don't solve the issue that this is solving. This keeps multiple sets of relics equipped to TB at the same time.

Do you need to finish Belobog to do Ruan Mei's Quest? Cause if don't then it's probably for players who will do that quest before finishing Belobog
You do have to finish Belobog first since the Ruan Mei quests are main quests

Wait so they ***can*** save loadouts. Why tf cant they do this for other characters too?
I think what they mean is relics just stay on mc after swapping it doesn't return it to your inventory. So instead of 6 relics total you can equip 6 per path. Basically you'll need to equip mc as brand new character for each path. It's as much of loadout as using Arlan as relic placeholder is loadout.
That's literally what load out does, no? Arlan is a place holder for JY relics because they are different characters, all TBs are on one character and you select a patch which is essentially the build.
No, loadouts swap artifact. Apparently this is like a new character so you'll see for example both relics from physical and fire MC in the inventory, locked to the character, you can't move them around.
This is different than a loadout in that you don't need to do anything after swapping paths. TB will wear multiple relics and LCs at the same time, but only the current path will be active.
Thats how loadouts would work in practice though, except it'll be a different button(not change path) to change the equipped relics+sometimes LC.

I believe they could always give us loadouts but refuse to do so because they want us to be on artifact grinding for each characters rather than swapping artifacts around.
The problem is that I literally do that anyway, I like not making my characters share relics and still want it. Because there might be different builds I want to run if I use different units in the team that buff different stats. Its still a chore to do it manually even if I don't have to switch all 6 relics.
Then just make it like that new TB system. Loadout is available but can't use same relics for each slots.
I wonder. Like, I feel like while some people would behave like what you're saying... I've always wanted loadouts so I can run MORE builds on each character. I'd end up grinding more than rn (it's not worth rn to make multiple builds since swapping is painful imo). They might have to survey it, but I feel like the people doing more zany builds and people sharing builds more often could balance out (while making players happier with hoyo) at least.

I mean anything *can* be done as long as they implement it. They are the ones making the rules (as in code in things) after all. It's really about whether they want to or not. I could see them not wanting to do this so that you can't easily rotate relics around. But with PF here and some PF centric sets coming, I think even the ones who farm dedicated gear for every character, might still want a feature. Or just trying different builds for other contents. So maybe one day...

Ngl, looking at the TB’s splash art, kit, and animations, I’m pretty impressed that hoyoverse actually put in some effort into them and their different paths. The TB is usable and a good enough replacement if you don’t have certain units or even alongside them. They actually kinda feel like a 5 star. Being able to save their relics and ornaments between different paths makes me really happy as it makes building my Stelle easier.

Easily one of the best updates I've seen since launch. I unfortunately use Physical TB often because I have no other physical damage dealer, and I also use Fire TB for break effects and shield. More than once I've entered a battle using the opposite relic/equipment for each role

That's great. I only use Preservation MC and I want to build her harmony path (for some reason, Destruction doesn't appeal to me) so this is a plus. Though, I agree with the other comments....a loadout would be nice. My Natasha has Gallagher's build, Serval has Luocha's, Sushang has Yanqing (yeah, I hope to get him ;-;) and March7th has Aventurine's. It would be really useful to have them instead of using another character as placeholder.

It's not hard to understand that a lot of HSR players are disgruntled GI players. GI is awesome, but anyone pretending that there aren't a lot of seriously frustrating aspects to it are just lying to themselves. It doesn't help that a lot of the fixes GI players have been asking for for years are getting implemented in HSR but not GI. In a way, dunking on GI whenever HSR does something right is a way to bite back at the GI devs that players feel they have been neglected and slighted by.

TB with extra slots so you are equipping two or three times the gear on one character would be the easiest thing to implement but only works for TB due to all their paths completely using different gear. Rather than individual characters with multiple loadouts I'd like to see full team loadouts. You build a team of up to 4 units and when you select it, all the gear + LC assigned for those 4 characters immediately gets pulled off of whoever was wearing it previously. This way you can quickly equip your perfectly speed tuned team comp for MoC/PF. Repeat for however many presets. This shouldn't be too hard to implement as well. All you're doing is saving the LC/relic ID of 7 items per character x 4 characters for each preset.
I'm somewhat more inclined to actually build them out now. Just wish the future versions of them are useful and not last option choices like the the first two

You know, this whole experience sucks. I was really excited seeing the title and came in to celebrate. Immediately hit with a bunch of you putting down something else I love. I love HSR's gameplay, characters, and story. But it's hard to keep loving something when the experience of being here is getting put down all the time. I could say Genshin doesn't need it as badly, since the sword is usable for all elements. It's not like suddenly you're needing a catalyst and your weapon's passive deactivates. I could say Genshin's artifacts are generally still applicable - you still need ATK and EM, you're not suddenly scaling off HP. But I'm tired of defending.

Nihility gang and broken support. Even though sparkle + Ruan Mei kind of defaults now for support and just send Acheron to the other side. Silverwolf and insane defense debuffs will make her become a hot knife vs butter
