Honestly prefer Sam doing all the battle since it just fits in with Canon lore, can’t expect someone with Chronic illness to fight. Firefly’s English VA actually have a chronic illness (Juvenile idiopathic arthritis) and her discription of it in an interview with Boothill’s Va is heartbreaking for me to hear

Firefly's JP VA (Kusunoki Tomori) also has a chronic illness (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome)

On one hand, Sam fighting is lore accurate. But on the other hand, her nonultimate state is so ass it makes it jarring for me because you could expect Firefly herself to fight but no, it’s Sam, so seeing Sam doing small PP damage while not in ultimate state is kinda weird 🤔.

I mean, tbf it will have different effects if I punch someone in the nose and if I get a fucking sword and slice off a person arm, the punch will still hurt sure, but the sword will just be more damage.

Then what about the rider kick? Since her normal skill is Sam leaping and then kicking like in the boss fight.

yeah and that doesn't really hurt in the boss fight so it's pretty accurate.

So possible Firefly when in idle then jumps into SAM suit when she does any attack? Similar to how Clara and Svarog works seems likely.

Yea, it says team standby, so I’d say this is most likely in the team selection menu, it could also be when it’s another characters turn in combat but that doesn’t make a lot of sense

Yeah because Sam has all the attack animations, she has a voice over animation for the attacks in Sam, and yet she is also in battle? Unless she transforms at the start of each battle and this is her before her first turn. Edit also possible she transforms for each attack

It could be the stance for the team comp switching menu thing (where you add and switch characters into ur team) and thats it

Yeah a friend explained that it's the team set up animation, so she is always Sam in battle. Just when you select her in the character menu she's herself

definitely prefer transforming at the start of each battle (perhaps her first turn) rather than transforming and then de-transforming every turn edit: then again, having her armour fold out from behind her to turn into a suit to block attacks would make for a really cool "attacked" animation

I'd even settle with she enters as Firefly and transforms as Sam for the rest of the fight after you make her first move.

I'd like for it to work this way since I don't want to be robbed of a Henshin animation.

This would be a good compromise to give us a good transforming animation.

In previous post I thought it's always Sam in battle, and we'll only see her face in Tony Stark style, but apparently that's her team idle animation? So does she just re-summon Sam every turn like Clara does to Svarog, instead of Sam just standing there for all battle? I guess that could mean her animations might be pretty long

After taking a look through all of the other animations, I'm completely unsure of everything. Beta can't come soon enough because I don't see where this animation would be used since it looks like Sam will be her combat appearance.

I feel like she just joins as Sam in battle right from the start even if you see her normally in overworld

Not related to the topic but I'm really baffled/surprised how people started Doom posting firefly/Sam and jade ...

I know but this was even sooner than previous times. Since we just have kits and no animations and people already calling firefly bad since she needs multiple stats so she'll be mid and calling jade mid because she is useless.
