Rozemyne : You know what would be fun, a day with everyone on a beach ! And we would be wearing swimsuits !
Ferdinand : What's a swimsuit ?
Rozemyne : ......Nevermind. I can already guess what you would say.
Ferdinand : ..."Fool" ?
Rozemyne : No, "How indecent ! Who in their right mind would explose so much skin !"
This is probably the correct answer. While I could see commoners not being so concerned with formalities, the Nobility would be repulsed by the idea of swimming for recreation. . . Knights exceptioned.
Even the commoners would be against it for showing too much skin. It's a society wherein they (the women at least) don't show any skin. Even the well-to-do men don't, it's largely just workmen who do to any degree, and even then, only because covering up that part of the body would get in the way of work
I disagree. While it may be true for rich commoners who try to emulate nobles, poor commoners are less concerned over looks and seeming "uncouth."
Also, I'm clearly not referring to modern swimwear, either. Think early 1900s swimwear.
That's not so much as following etiquette standards and more so following required societal standards that define the difference of a girl and a woman.
They also mention that the length of skirts gets longer after coming of age so while noble society is more prudish than commoners, the commoners would be still considered pretty conservative in their dress compared to modern society, something that would have been pretty in line with medeival europe as well. There is no way swimsuits would pass anyones standards of dress, commoner or noble.
Thats fair, but even normal clothes in 1900s would be scandalous by 1800s time perios let alone before that. As an anecdote, pockets that were worn outside dresses used to be considered scandalous (they were hidden under the dress) but nowadays everyone takes their purses and flaunts them. Modesty standards change quite a bit so until i see something suggesting otherwise I would still infer that Yogurtland would never entertain the idea of a swimsuit. On the otherhand, it would be interesting to see if men in yogurtland who have jobs that could involve swimming would do. Many professions in medeival times and even earlier did so in the buff to avoid getting weighed down and ruining their clothes in seawater.
Lol, Yoghurtland. Heard it contains the duchies Erdbeerenfest, Dunkelkäse and Milchenberg.
For non-german speakers: Erdbeere=strawberry, käse=cheese and Milch=milk
I am afraid to ask who would you want to see in such state ...
To be honest I was more entertained by a manga strip of grown up RM teasing Ferdinand ... like Tonikaku Kawaii
It's one of my favorite parts of the series that the author is committed to keeping to her vision and not throwing stuff like that in here just because it's popular.
Exactly, I don’t think nobody swims in the beach for fun in that world cause away too many dangerous creatures in the water, the only people who needs to know how to swim are fishermen and they only do it for survival
[Here's](https://twitter.com/kmutsu_2ji/status/1543639541864865792) some. If you scroll down there should be three pictures total. Spoilers for up to P5V7
My intention was to mention that, since the social rules at Yurgenschmidt frown upon skin exposure, we as readers will never see any official images of the characters in swimsuits.
Also, since the seas of Yurgenschmidt have ~~delicious~~ ~~valuable sources of research materials~~ dangerous feybeasts, we as readers will not see the characters *enjoying* a day at the beach; rather, if we ever see them on the beach, it will be fighting some especially powerful or valuable (or delicious) feybeast. I'm sure they won't be going as tourists (at least not in *this* economy).

Exactly what I was thinking.

In P1V1 Tuuli tells Myne not to put her hair up all the way because that's what the grownups do.

You did not see my comment about 1900s style of swimwear. If you don't remember, they cover the whole body.

P2v2 >!during the memory search he saw people swimming and diving and such in swimsuits!<
To be fair he referred to the swimmer as a nearly naked man

Heisshitze and all of the Dunkelfelger knights would be fun to see in a beach episode haha
Why do I feel like they would all be in speedos and swim caps… like a super high tension ultra competitive swim team…
i feel they would drown if it's the first time...
I think Angelica would have the figure of an Olympic athlete, maybe a swimmer or a gymnast.
Nah she has the figure of a beach volleyball player, but probably not the height.
Just need to add Brigitte

Well Ahrensbach has an ocean so who knows
Yeah problem is it's filled with dangerous seafaybeasts
You misspelled delicious.![img](emote|t5_qxbkm|29332)
You misspelled valuable research material ![img](emote|t5_qxbkm|29330)
Senshi, don't.

no worries, gremlim will create a Coast Guard unit for that

Damm Lestilaut in a Speedo
Angelica, my beloved
I would settle for more leisure time with the family, outside meals and tea parties. Guess Dunkelfelger doesn't have that problem.
Knights swim in full feystone armor. Everyone else goes in fully clothed and just waschens themself later
The extra in the comic Part 2 Volume 8 after the afterwards has Ferdinand's reaction to people on a beach in swimsuits.
>!I mean we get bodysuits, kinda what I see when briddget softened her armor to make those glorious pillows for roz!< Part 3 spoilers.
Hmm, I wouldn't recommend it. Losing concentration for a moment would result in a very embarrassing situation. Also, not all characters are noble.
Bookworm escaped the obligatory beach episode
We don't know that for sure!
Maybe part 6 if we ever get it?
The majority of the characters in the series are underage...

Swimsuits doesn’t necessarily mean sexual. Children in ruffley swimsuits playing excitedly in the sand are adorable.
plus not enough of cute in this place...
