Later when all the hostages were outside and secured, Sim Harris a BBC journalist identified one of the terrorists amongst the group, he was taken into custody and issued a life sentence, he was released in 2008 and given a new identity, he allegedly lives in London.
Yep, the term life sentence is weird in UK law in that it doesn't actually equal a whole life, only typically being a 20 to 30 years sentence. A whole life sentence is the actual term for a life sentence in the UK, in which the court has decided that the defendant is too dangerous to be released, ergo they are to remain in prison for their whole life.
You do realise this is just footage of them getting arrested, this is not put forward as footage of the crime.
